THOSE 84 SENATORS WERE NOT CHANGE AGENTS – THEY SHOULD BE SACKED!

Although the revolutionary wind of CHANGE has enveloped and overwhelmed the Nigerian nation and its people over the past four months, June-October, 2015, it seemed like legislators of the Upper House of the National Assembly have developed thick skin and therefore immune to both the physical and spiritual wind of transformation, reorientation and character reformation! Of the three arms of government, both the Executive and the Judiciary have become CHANGE-compliant, with the exception of the Legislature which has no choice but join the band wagon of the change train as quickly as possible to ensure the effective and righteous administration of every Nigerian’s dream! Nigerians can no longer be fooled to believe that Senators at the “Red Chambers” of the National Assembly were sincere in the discharge of legislative duties because the progress so far recorded to confirm ministerial nominees forwarded by the Executive arm of government were purely in conformity with the 1999 Constitutional Provisions which could not faulted and not a favour to Mr. President, although they would want the uninformed to believe their gimmick! We can authoritatively inform our readers that outside of public glare, a devious plan had been hatched to keep over two-thirds of the “most distinguished Senators” on the side of the “SOLITAIRE” - lone game player who strongly believed that he held all the ACES and his reasons were not far-fetched – a rooster has perched on the rope and both the rooster and the rope are now on edge – for as long as the Senate as presently composed maintained status quo – APC will swim in troubled waters! The night which preceded the “coup-de-grace” that threw up Abubakar Bukola Saraki as Senate President, nocturnal meetings of strange bed fellows within the rank and file of the two major political parties dominated the night vigil during which ungodly DEALS were concluded, OATHS of ALLEGIANCE and SECRECY were administered and the ripple effects/outcome of that inglorious night are now playing out! The ruling party had to be very diplomatic in dealing with Bukola Saraki and his accomplices who had asserted that the latter’s multiple travails were both witch/wizard hunting by the former to remove the incumbent Senate President from office in view of the surreptitious manner through which he assumed office with the tacit support of the PDP opposition in parliament! The past administration of the last 16 years was still desperate to remain in power at all cost and did not waste time to grab an opportunity to be relevant as Senate Deputy President, major principal officers and also to position its members for “juicy” offices of the numerous Senate Standing Committees that would be appointed by the Solitaire game player! When the amiable wife of Senate President, was invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for interrogation in respect of many petitions of fraud, corruption and shady contracts against her, more than 20 “most distinguished Senators” of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, abandoned their duty post at the NASS and opted to join the solidarity motorcade of Mrs.‘Toyin Saraki to answer to the charges against her as Governor’s wife for eight years – 2003-2011! They also waited outside the EFFC’S premises in the scorching heat of the sun for the over eight hours of the lady’s interrogation while the Senate’s image maker who led the “august” delegation, when chided on the social media, said he had no qualms about his action because he was there as a friend and a “private investigator” to ascertain the accusations against ‘Toyin Saraki who was alleged to have channelled State funds into accounts she controlled through her non-governmental organisation – “Well Being Foundation Africa” (WBFA)! While as a Senator on the floor of the hallowed chambers Bukola Saraki was invited by EFCC for interrogation over accusations of corruption, misappropriation of State funds and abuse of office as a former Governor of Kwara State and he never attracted a motley crowd but very recently as Senate President, when he had to answer to charges of false declaration of assets by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), 84 distinguished Senators followed him to the venue on solidarity grounds! Does it not amount to a conflict of ideology if the very people who should propagate the concept of CHANGE turn around to resist it? Did you remember that the 83 Senate “coupist” plus Bukola Saraki who was assisted to achieve his inordinate ambition as Senate President were majorly the mixed multitude who swiftly jumped ship from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), into the All Progressives Congress (APC) shortly before the 2015, only for their selfish reasons which are now very glaring for the down-trodden masses to see! Check out the antecedents of those two-thirds who are backing the Senate President against Party supremacy and discipline – they consist of those who are under the investigation and searchlight of EFCC, ICPC and those who are waiting for their turn to be invited for interrogation; they are ex-governors, ex-ministers, ex-commissioners, ex-state and federal legislators of the lower house; and some dubious business men who have criminal records! They are also super-rich Nigerians who have immensely benefited from crude oil blocks and who cared less about other citizens who could barely make ends meet andlanguishing in poverty and squalor! Would you not agree that it was high time these super-rich Nigerians publicly declared – like Mr. President, the magnitude and largesse of their immense wealth especially their SEVERANCE ALLOWANCES for all Nigerians and the WORLD to evaluate! Our major concern now is for the new APC Government of Change to also move swiftly into action to rectify all anomalies through an improved CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM (CJS), which will ensure faster an impeccable law enforcement and investigation, a rejuvenated prosecution and court system, right to counsel and a jury trial; and also the probation or incarceration period in the prisons and correctional centres since every suspect is assumed to be innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction! CJS will serve as the litmus test to ensure justice to all citizens irrespective of class or position in the society and in addition render equal opportunity to every suspect in areas of defence before judgement was reached! The tripod institutions of: (1) Law enforcement Agencies,(Police) (2)The Court System, and (3)The Correction Institutions (Prisons); must be synergized to work in unison as a team for speedy, investigations of crime to gather evidence, identify and use such against suspects who are presumed to be innocent; professionally weigh such evidence to determine if defendant was guilty beyond all reasonable doubt and for the Prisons to perform as correctional centres during probation or incarceration of convicted persons! We also suggest that throughout the entire process, all constitutional provisions and protections should be employed to ensure the rights of accused and convicted persons were respected so that the Criminal Justice System would be embraced as being sacrosanct and there would therefore be no need for accused persons to seek unnecessary and very nauseating court injunctions which have turned out to be clog in the wheel of progress of JUSTICE! For starters, the RECALL provisions in the 1999 Nigerian Constitution be swung into action by the Electorate from the 84 Districts of the distinguished Senators in question and Senate Clerk be instructed to cancel their sitting allowances for all periods of absenteeism as surrogates of the Solitaire! The doctrine of requisite punishment for every infringement or default against the laws of Nigeria should not recogognize segregation! Anyone who defaults should be speedily apprehended, prosecuted and punished or released if found innocent in order to deter would-be offenders! THIS WILL REPRESENT THE DESIRED CHANGE YEARNED FOR BY ALL NIGERIANS! AMEN.

IT’S TIME TO DESTROY THE PREDATOR AND VAMPIRE LIFESTYLE IN NIGERIA ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Doingbusiness in Nigeriahad always beenfraughtwith lots of undiplomatic bureaucracy deliberately packaged by relevant officials to force foreign investors, part with large sums of illicit “tips” in bribes and extortions! During the infamous Abacha’s Military junta of the nineties, a foreign journalist produced video footage of bribe-taking on an international television station by officers of the Immigration and Customs Departments on duty at the Murtala International Airport, Lagos and by top civil servants at the Internal Affairs, Trade and Commerce Ministries where he had several days of business transactions! His mission to Nigeria was a deliberate effort to prove that the country was the most corrupt nation as regularly indicated on the Amnesty International Annual Index report indices, but Abacha and his cohorts in government brazenly denied all facts and truths of the show of shame with the cliché “ It’s not in our character”! No wonder, Nigeria remains the most difficult commercial destination for foreign investors to transact business in 55 years of post-independence existence! A fresh economic report in the last quarter of 2015 has revealed that the country occupies 170 position out of 184 countries of the world in which business transactions remained an albatross! Especially in the past 16 years of failed governance, the country became notorious for all for all forms of criminality ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping, money laundering, oil bunkering, human trafficking, examination and election malpractices, currency forging, arson, contract killings, assassinations, impunity in governance and endemic corruption, to mention a few!!

WHY SHOULD NIGERIA CONTINUE TO ATTRACT INTERNATIONAL ATTENTION FOR NEGATIVE REASONS SINCE INDEPENDENCE? The Military came up with some spurious excuses of ineptitude, maladministration, tribalism, ethnicity, and most importantly, large scale corruption in government on 15th January, 1966, barely five years of freedom from colonial shackles and forcibly seized the hard-earned political independence from our founding fathers! But did they have to shed the blood of those who peacefully negotiated the nation’s liberty without firing a single shot? They did and since then, tons of litres of blood had ceaselessly flowed in Nigeria like the Rivers Niger and Benue waters combined! It was the case of one ambitious armed section of government which exploited its advantageous position to abuse the trust of its principal and turned the nation’s arsenal for external protection against the masses who had since then been subjected to remain the grass that suffered for as long as the battle for supremacy subsisted! The reprisal against the first military coup in July of the same year eventually led to secession by the then Eastern Region from the rest of Nigeria and a continuous flow of innocent blood issued for the 30 months that a civil war lasted! A wall of suspicion and insincerity had existed in the political game since the first military coup between the North and the South and to date - 55 years on; the dichotomy could not be bridged because it got wider and wider by the day! The Boko Haram terrorism is the climax of blood-flow which had continued unabated for over five years – 2009-2015 for the same fundamental accusations of maladministration, nepotism, tribalism and corruption in successive governments – civilian or military! Recently, some South West Yoruba Leaders have come up with the idea of “reconsidering the place of the South West in a union that could no longer protect them!” In a communiqué issued at the end of a Yoruba Summit entitled, “National Insecurity and the Menace of Fulani Herdsmen In Yorubaland” – held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital in the first week of October, 2015, the Leaders threatened to, “use all legitimate and peaceful means to attain self determination!” The nomadic Fulani Herdsmen are no strangers to all agrarian States in Nigeria because they moved their cattle and livestock to graze at random and in recent times have clashed with virtually all the farmers in all the 36 States and even, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for trespassing and destruction of farmlands and products! All clashes always ended in bloodshed and loss of precious lives and properties and a school of thought believed that the Fulani Herdsmen were a branch of the Boko Haram terrorists in view of the sophisticated weapons they employed in all encounters with the farmers! When a 77-year-old former Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria was abducted from his farm in Akure, the Ondo State Capital in September 2015, the Fulani Herdsmen who in past times had ravaged his large farmland, were fingered! The elder statesman who was eventually released after an alleged ransom was paid by members of his family did not disclose the identities of his abductors while the South-West Association of Fulani Chiefs denied the allegations!

SHOULD EVERY TRIBE IN THIS CENTURY-OLD AMALGAMATION ALWAYS OPT FOR SECESSION AS A PANACEA TO CONFLICT RESOLUTION? The embers of the “Biafran secession” flames of the sixties are still being fanned by a certain “Radio Biafra” and some group called Movement for the of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), in the South East and the Diaspora, while the Boko Haram terrorists want the North East to be carved out as an Islamic Caliphate and in the process have destroyed over a million lives and properties worth trillions of naira since 2009! The Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), is also planning to create a showdown if the Amnesty monetary package, being enjoyed by about 30.000 youths of the region to prevent them from blowing up pipelines or kidnapping oil workers, was not renewed at expiration in December, 2015, not caring that all forms of confrontations –minor or major – always ended in massive bloodshed! SHOULD THE BLOOD OF OUR BRETHREN CONTINUE TO CEASELESSLY BECAUSE OF OUR MINDLESSNESS? The excesses of the nomadic Fulani Herdsman for unleashing terror and mayhem against innocent farmers on their landed properties and in their homelands coupled with cattle rustling all over the country constituted the height of criminality and the brazen abuse of the fundamental rights of other citizens of Nigeria and has to be quickly addressed by the new Federal Government of our amiable President Buhari, who constituency transcends tribal, religious, political or social sentiments! Nigeria was a signatory to the United Nations initiative of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which targeted EIGHT world’s developmental challenges and committed member states of about 148 countries to achieve them by the year 2015, and ensure productive employment and decent work for all – including women and young children: eradication of hunger and poverty, half the proportion of people living on less than one United States dollar per day; achievement of universal primary education with emphasis on the girl-child education; promotion of gender equality, including empowerment of women at all levels by 2015; reduction of child mortality and in particular, reducing the mortality rate among children under five by two-thirds; improvement of maternal health by three quarters reduction of maternal mortality ratio and achieve by 2010 universal access to reproductive health; combating HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases; ensure input of environmental sustainability development into country policies and programmes; achieve significant improvement in the lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers, by 2020; etc. In Nigeria, there had been an uneven results and achievements from the MDGs in spite of all Tracking Survey which was set up in 2012 to indicate that most of the goals were achieved ahead of 2015 deadline – especially the goal dedicated to achieving significant improvement in the lives of at least 100million slum and rural dwellers, by 2020 - otherwise the recurring issue of the nomadic Fulani Herdsmen atrocities would have been nipped in the bud long time ago! It was high time global negative attention on Nigeria be transformed to positive expectations in respect of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which formed the new agenda to actualize change from poverty to abundance and inequality to legitimate opportunities for all peoples in the developing countries of the world which the United Nations believed was achievable in the next five years - 2020! The year 2000 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), a brain child of the United Nations which metamorphosed into the SDGs at the September 2015 UN Summit in New York, will ensure that all the grounds that were articulated in the bold vision aimed at improving the lives of those threatened by diseases, inequality and hunger particularly in Sub-Sahara Africa, were maintained and sustained by member countries in over 148 nations of the global village. Incessant and continuous bloodshed will not help Nigeria to achieve SDGs; only peace, unity, tranquillity, and serenity under a righteous government under the able- leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and his divinely chosen team of ministers and advisers would deliver this nation from all maladies of neo-colonialism mentality! If the United Nations wished that Nigeria became an economically-viable and peaceful nation, must Nigerians wish for themselves violence and bloodshed? No part of Nigeria should ever dream of secession but proffer solution to all nagging issues that would always surface among diverse opinions! We beseech the Yoruba Leaders, MASSOB, MEND, and BOKO HARAM to sheath their swords and embrace meaningful dialogue through well-articulated conflict resolution channels. PMB once said in an interview that, “no person who was involved in the 30-month-long Biafran War, would ever dream of secession again in Nigeria”!

ENOUGH OF THE RIVERS OF BLOOD IN NIGERIA! BROTHERS SHOULD STOP KILLING BROTHERS, ESPECIALLY WHEN A DIVINELY ESTABLISHED GOVERNMENT IS NOW IN PLACE. Grazing lands and ranches should be allocated to Fulani herdsmen! We are in the 21 Century for God’s sake! “Righteousness exalts a nation, sin is a reproach.” [Proverbs. 14:34.].

The Grape Is Now Sour For The Losers And Their Apologist !

THE GRAPE IS NOW SOUR FOR THE LOSERS AND THEIR APOLOGISTS!

Utopia, an imagined perfect place in which righteousness existed or is exhibited in governance and in all the affairs of man is yet to be discovered or actualized on planet Earth and it would therefore be foolhardy for anyone to expect a perfect human being or a perfect government in all dispensations of the existing global village. A perfect State will produce a people of pure moral attitudes and consciousness, righteous behavioural patterns and attitudes, impeccable character of honesty in all assignments, absolute dedication, truthfulness, faithfulness and total commitment to duties in public and private lives, God-fearing citizens, workers and families who needed no oversight or supervision in their day-to-day chores and above all, crime-free societies, neighbourhoods, communities and countries! The United States of America, which stands shoulder high above other countries of the universe as the best democracy still falls short of being referred to as Utopia in view of the fallibilities of men and women in government and also among the governed but the existence of an IDEAL state in which the activities of man – political, social or economic – could be predicated on basic principles of sound practice of the RULE OF LAW and SOCIAL JUSTICE, without exception or immunity should not be ruled out! Nigeria’s new government of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had been under fire from all people who believed that President Buhari’s pedigree of a Spartan and prudent lifestyle should rub off and produce an immediate perfect administration which will wipe off the rot and decadence that have been witnessed in the past 16 years of selfish and greedy politicians who abandoned their oath of office for filthy lucre, forgetting that the doctrine of CHANGE would take a gradual process!
The furore that greeted the partial release of the Ministerial List by government through the Senate on Tuesday 6 October 2015, mostly by contracted and sponsored antagonists bombarded the political turf like the angry sea wave agitated by a roaring stormy weather with a devastating and total condemnation of the 21-member nominee without exception! Having pondered to listen and constructively reviewed the agitated persons and their grouses against nominees which some described as old wine in new wine bottles who had dubious and criminal antecedents; and were all old citizens who had been re-cycled for too long while some others still expressed disappointment that their four-month vigil of expectation was dashed to pieces with such an awful assemblage of people of disrepute, we arrived at this unambiguous conclusion that, without the right perception or understanding, the uneducated the disorientated, the misguided and the spiritually blind and vision impaired would keep crying “wolf” where none existed! Therefore, the “WORLD SIGHT DAY” (WSD), which was celebrated on Thursday, 8 October 2015, could not have been better timed because both the physically and the spiritually vision impaired become the endangered species when it comes to truthful exposition and analysis of social, political and economic issues in any given environment, situations and circumstances of governance! Though the partial list in question, of divinely chosen Change Ministers, who would be screened by Senate at plenary according to the sacred provisions of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 Constitution had thrown up patriotic, diligent, trusted and competent Nigerian politicians/professionals who had proved their mettle in governance and in the administration of this nation in various capacities, yet the sight impaired would be blind to the qualities of those dedicated and patriotic Nigerians who had been meticulously chosen under the guidance of the Holy Spirit! While we maintain the fact that there is nothing like perfection in the human nature or character, we believe that the perfect God, through impartation could perfect the activities and capabilities of His creations according to His purposive will.

Let us check out the pedigrees and antecedents of some this first group, of Federal Ministers:
Chris Ngige (Anambra); was governor of Anambra State and later a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He performed creditably according to human standards. Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti); former governor of Ekiti State who was diligent and very meticulous in governance as he, during his one term tenure, touched lives of the masses. He was meek and gentle to the core. Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers); was two-term governor of Rivers State who left indelible marks majorly in areas of education and health sectors. He was a remarkable administrator who discharged his functions creditably in spite of the array of protests against his nomination. Babatunde Fashola (Lagos); had a two-term stint as governor of Lagos State. He was a reference point in good and creditable governance all over the country. He remained impeccable in spite of petitions against his nomination by Mr. President. Aisha Al Hassan (Taraba); former senator and recently APC governorship candidate in the 2015 general elections is credible and ready to serve the nation in honesty. Ogbonaya Onu (Ebonyi); former governor of the old Abia State and Chairman of the defunct ANPP which collapsed to form the APC. A distinguished politician and statesman of no mean standing! Kemi Adeosun (Ogun); a former Commissioner of Finance in Ogun State. Was reported to have been distinguished and had performed creditably. Since her nomination, petitions have poured in an avalanche against her! Ibe Kachikwu (Delta); presently Chief Executive Officer of NNPC and who within a very short time of appointment had distinguished himself by ensuring that petroleum products –petro l and kerosene are available all over the country at official pump price - a feat no one ever achieved!

We need to re-emphasize for the umpteenth time that President Buhari was not an emergency Head of State but a product of God’s arrangement to purge Nigeria of all rot and filth of corruption that have become a second nature of many Nigerians! The World Sight Day (WSD) was dedicated to create the much-needed awareness at this most opportune time to avoid physical vision impairment which according to the World Health Organization (WHO), has affected about 80% of the world’s 45 million blind people of which 90% are domiciled in developing countries – including Nigeria! Our concern is that – would it be expeditious for the detractors of the Change government to be both physically and spiritually vision impaired at this age and time when God-fearing persons are thanking and giving glory to Him for putting a righteous government together for this nation that almost went underground with the miry clay of terrible and unmitigated corruption of 16 uninterrupted administrations of consecutive Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governments -1999-2015! Should any member of the disgraced past administrations be bold to condemn divinely-chosen Nigerians who are determined to frontally confront and address the issues of insecurity and endemic corruption which are the fall outs and ripple effects of their bad governments of recent past if they are not both physically and spiritually vision impaired? Apart from the ministerial list, these contracted do-gooders have virtually criticized every move of Mr. President in the last FOUR months since his investiture on 29 May, 2015! Check out the following list: They said that the inaugural speech lacked economic direction! The International and overseas diplomatic trips to solicit co-operation on insecurity created by Boko Haram terrorists were unnecessary; he should have stayed home to solve the problems! His appreciation tours to neighbouring West African countries of Chad, Niger, Cameroon, Benin Republics which militarily assisted to defend the territorial integrity of Nigeria, was waste of meagre public funds! The G7 meeting in Germany was a waste of precious time! The United States visit at the invitation of President Obama would not yield any meaningful results. Choice of presidential advisers was myopic and one-sided. Change of Armed Forces commanding officers was dismissed as a Northern agenda. Financial bail-out to indebted States who had arrears of worker salaries to settle was also condemned as an undiplomatic move which would deplete foreign reserves. The 55 Anniversary address by Mr President to the nation on 1st October, 2015, was also condemned for being without focus on economic blue print and policy direction etc, etc! It is common knowledge that it is easier to destroy than to build; but all well-meaning and patriotic Nigerians must rally round this new administration to rebuild the nation from the ashes of the failures of those detractors who were part and parcel of all the failed governments. It does not matter whether the President’s cabinet is made up of old or young persons or the mixture of both, the important thing is that the President is comfortable working with his team. President Obama who is 54 years old has a cabinet full of elderly men and women and he is getting wonderful results from them even in his second term in office! No one has the moral right to disqualify (not even the Senate) any of the nominee in the partial ministerial list and other lists that would pass through the Red Chambers because, THE POT CANNOT CALL THE KETTLE BLACK! President Buhari should be left to work with his divinely chosen team and win the battle over insecurity and the endemic corruption left behind by the old administrations! His detractors are not speaking on behalf of the downtrodden whom Buhari represents but their PIPERS who contracted them to create unnecessary confusion in the polity. NIGERIA’S 55 BIRTHDAY AND THE BLOOD MOON - ANY SIGNIFICANCE? About 48 hours before the celebration of Nigeria’s 55 birthday anniversary an eerie red “blood moon” appeared in the sky in the wee hours of the morning as a phenomenal harbinger that portended different ideas, reactions and messages of either danger or goodwill, blessings or curses or even a fearful sign of the end of the world as predicted by some astrologers and prophets! We have an understanding that the world would never end but would continue to be purged of evil and ungodly men and women who had been polluting the moral atmosphere and were about to puncture the OZONE layer to force God’s laser fire to consume the Earth before its judgment day! At the Federal Capital City of Abuja (FCT), and environs, - for those who were awake between the 01.11 and 0.438 hours of Monday, 28 September, 2015, when the “blood moon” was to manifest and full blown, it turned out to be a dreary and fearful moment of mental torture, an awful experience of a cacophony of celestial thundering , lightenings and mortar bombardments of the earth in pitch darkness beneath, by some spiritual and devastating arsenals of great magnitude, from the east to west, north to south, over a period of 40 agonizing and crushing minutes of between life and death! In fact one was almost prone believe that the end of the world had come! The celestial commotion eventually gave birth to a very heavy and stormy downpour that seemed to be flooding and drowning the Abuja into oblivion, while those who wished to capture the heavenly phenomenon were greeted with thick dark cloud which rubbed them of the straight alignment of the Sun, Earth and Moon, which produced the much-anticipated “blood moon” the heavenly wonder was clearly visible to the Lagos, Israel, parts of Europe, Asia and the Americas! Abuja, the seat of power of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was purposely visited by God through those heavenly signs and wonders to show Himself in support and in the behalf of His Chosen Vessel. President Buhari and the new administration that He would visit judgment upon all the ungodly who have thought in their wicked heart that they would get away with all the BLOOD MONIES in their kitties! It started at the beginning of creation when God discarded the pitch darkness which enveloped the Earth and bathed her with 24 hours of day and night of powerful digital satellite illumination of stupendous magnitude – the Sun held sway in the day and the Moon pampered universal citizens to bed at night –everything done for His children to dwell in peace and splendor! Darkness is the hallmark of evil while Light proclaims goodness, truth and righteousness. Pitch darkness like the scenario at the beginning of creation reminded one of the rot of a former world that must be done away with for the newness of God to permeate and illuminate a brand new world devoid of satanic influences. The unrepentant world scoffers – who disbelieve godly prophesies have kicked against the altruistic belief and truth that it is appointed for man to die once and thereafter would come a period of accountability of stewardship and divine judgment. In their ignorance, they forgot that old habits had to give way for the new ones as God did in creation when the old heavens and the earth that stood out of the world at the beginning of creation and the earth which stood out of the water and in the water which were both created by the Word of God had to give way and that old world which was overflowed with water, perished! The gospel truth is that the present and existing Heavens and our universe – Earth, will someday, by the same Word of God are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the Day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men and women! The import of all of the above is that the sovereign God of creation remains in charge as The masses of the Nigerian people who have been downtrodden for too long would now be avenged by their Creator who Has vowed that no ungodly Nigerian who had looted the treasury of this great nation either in the past or present would go unpunished!

Fifty- five years of Nigeria’s existence as a nation gave birth to both civilian and military governments which contributed to the woes and present predicaments in governance –especially the issue of endemic corruption which is being frontal attacked by President Buhari and his courageous and determined team and we can authoritatively declare that the battle is already half won because a divine team is in place! We will debunk the common statement here that, “If you fight corruption, corruption will fight back”! If corruption is in the Abstract, it cannot flex any muscle and if it is in the spirit form, it has already been arrested and docked by the superior power of GOD the Father who is the head of all creation and who Has put a righteous government in place! CAMEROON’S LAGDO DAM EXCESS WATER SHOULD NOT FLOOD NIGERIA AGAIN IN 2015!

A gradual re-enactment of a flooded nation might have silently crept in on Nigerians in a most unusual and uncanny manner, all within three calendar years of an unsavoury experience of submerging waters of 2012 AD, now documented in the annals of history as an unpleasant disaster of national dimension! Presently, Adamawa and Benue States which had the greatest casualty figures in 2012 have again turned out be the worst hit as both have recorded alarming statistics of disaster since the rains began in torrents. In Adamawa alone, it was reported that nine Local Government Areas (LGAs), have been flooded out of 21, and over 50 communities submerged in Kiri Dam while not less than 10 persons drowned and about one million people would be affected as malnutrition had also hit the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp in the State! In Benue State, the situation is virtually identical as several LGAs have equally been submerged in Makurdi, Gboko in the ensuing deluge with over 3.000 houses submerged, lives and properties running into billions of naira having been lost and thousands of IDPs languishing in various improvised camps! Water should normally be man’s greatest asset in view of the immense role it plays in sustaining the human life animals and vegetation through rainfalls and man-made dams for hydro-electricity and irrigation for agriculture as it is widely assumed and believed that “WATER HAS NO ENEMY! During the creation of the Heaven and the Earth according to biblical account, the earth was without form and totally submerged under the deep waters until God created the dry land (earth crust ) from beneath the waters which scientists agree now occupy two-thirds of the world as seas and oceans! The ante-dilluvians who perished in the first floods that wiped out the entire universe of that period never believed that incessant and persistent rainfall of 40 days and 40 nights like that of Prophet Noah’s dispensation could turn out to be their very undoing because the man of God and his family (only eight people), survived the deluge in obedience to build an Ark, and subsequently became the nuclei of our present generation of the earth pilgrims! The flooding scenarios being witnessed in Nigeria since August 2015 and the disaster data recorded so far point in the direction that rural waterways and river basins dwellers’ did not believe in weather forecasts and flood alerts by professional meteorologists in respect of weather conditions during the wet seasons! Unlike the year 2012 when Nigeria recorded one of the heaviest down-pour in history coupled with the sudden unannounced and unprecedented release of excess water from Cameroon’s LAGDO DAM, there had been early warnings by both National and States Emergency Management Agencies (NEMAs), of another flooding of several States during the 2015 rainy season! Why would survivors of the 2012 national flooding disaster return to dwell on the waterways having lost their loved ones, properties and farmlands in the past in spite of the much publicised monetary and structural palliatives appropriated by both the National and State Governments to relocate and alleviate their plight and sufferings? Reports gathered by our investigators indicate the usual hogwash propaganda of the immediate past administration which was very fund of running government activities and policy directions on the print and electronic media while the social contact with the citizen remained in abeyance played out again as all allocated monies are yet to be accounted for! Victims of the unfortunate deluge who moved upland were treated like some undeserving internally displaced persons for a few weeks and later abandoned to their fate afterwards! Some who were interviewed in Kogi State confessed that their occupation as farmers and fishermen would always keep them nearest the waterways and basins where they could afford cheap accommodation commensurate to their livelihood since government would not provide alternative domicile abode for them! We were aware that some billions of naira was appropriated by the Federal Government to the States as intervention funds to succour and alleviate the plight of flood victims while donor agencies also contributed financially to support the helpless and hapless citizens of the unfortunate flood to build low-cost houses for them, but from various negative reports in respect of the disbursements, it has become imperative for the new government of President Buhari to institute and inquiry to authenticate whether the funds actually served the intended purposes or not! Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, confirmed our investigations when he said that the impact of the money released by the Federal Government after the 2012 flood was not felt in the State because the fund was diverted! Should there continue to be a recurrence of national flood disasters as being witnessed again in 2015? Must we be the laughing stock among the comity of nations in every issue of the social contract with the citizens? Are we the only country in the world through which damned rivers flowed and whereas, dams were constructed to serve as assets and not liabilities to all nations? A Dam is built as barrier across a river to hold back the water for variety of reasons namely: Control flooding; Store water for drinking and irrigation; To improve navigation or produce thermal power; To create artificial lakes and reservoirs as refuge for wildlife and also for recreation. When the Cameroon’s Lagdo Dam was constructed on River Benue, south of the city of Garoua between 1977 and 1982, it was intended to supply electricity to the Northern part of the country and also to allow for irrigation of about 15.000 hectares of crops downstream. According to its construction statistics, Lagdo Dam which is 308m long, 40m in height and 9m thick had performed optimally until the year 2012 when it had to suddenly discharge excess waters without prior notice or warning to Nigerian authorities! Could the Cameroon government be totally blamed for that disaster even when Nigeria was advised to build a BUFFER DAM downstream (precisely in present day Adamawa State) in the early 80s while Lagdo was still under construction to counter excess waters when it began operation? Thirty-three years down the line Adamawa State could only boast of some dredging and excavations at Dasin Hausa site and not a Buffer Dam! The great deluge that devastated, devoured and consumed Adamawa, Benue, Kogi, Plateau, Gombe, Kebbi, Yobe, Taraba Kano, Bauchi , Katsina and Oyo States and which disrupted businesses, livelihood which massively destroyed lives, infrastructures and public institutions would definitely have been avoided if a righteous government had been in place! Nigeria is still counting her losses of men and material of 2012 – losses if converted to hard currencies, could have built more than FIVE DAMS since 1982, when Lagdo was completed! It is however gratifying that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), was signed between Nigeria and Cameroon in 2013 to share information on rainfall and how to manage excess water without leading to flood disasters. The Agreement also stipulated that before excess water could be released from Lagdo Dam, Nigeria should have been adequately warned in order to put proactive measures in place to prevent destruction of lives and properties. Cameroon authorities have kept their word in respect of the MOU because alert of impending release of excess water from the Lagdo Dam had been communicated to Nigerian authorities and all stakeholders – especially- the National and States Emergency Management Agencies who have swung into action since early August 2015 to warn communities along River Benue of possible flood between early September to November 2015! States likely to be affected this year by river flooding apart from Adamawa, Benue and Kogi are Taraba, Gombe, Bauchi,Sokoto and Anambra States while coastal flooding resulting from sea level rise and tidal surges will likely occur in Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers and Lagos States and flash floods could be experienced in some urban locations such as Lagos, Port Harcourt, Sokoto, Birnin Kebbi, Ibadan and other towns along the country’s coast line.According to the Encyclopedia of Earth, River Benue mainstream rises on the Adamawa Plateau in Northern Cameroon and certain tributaries rise in the South Eastern mountainous regions of Chad and its major tributaries are the Gongola River and the Mayo-Kebbi, which connect it with the Logone River when flood-stage is occurring. After exiting Cameroon, River Benue proceeds West, south of the Mandara mountains passing the city of Yola (Jimeta) to Makurdi, prior to discharging to the River Niger at Lokoja, the confluence city. The way forward in the interim is for the new Federal Government to complete the abandoned Dasin Hausa buffer dam in Adamawa State and also repair the submerged 1.2 kilometre Kiri Dam in Guyak LGA, damming the Gongola River, while long term measures should include more buffer dams along Rivers Benue and Katsina –Ala as a permanent solution to the persistent and perennial flooding along the banks of the two rivers and mutual collaboration between all government agencies involved in environmental sanitation assignments! Since there would be further rising water level with the continuous release of Lagdo Dam excess water between September and November 2015, there should be stricter compliance of the mitigating measures of ensuring that wastes and refuse were not dumped into canals and drainages for free flow of flood waters! A word is enough for the wise because the TALAKAWAS , who are the dwellers of the water ways and river basins are the good people who should have better opportunities and fundamental human rights than the selfish and gluttonous politicians of the old regime! INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS PRIORTIZE EDUCATION TO KILL BOKO HARAM DOCTRINE!

The prolonged onslaught of Boko Haram terrorists on the Nigerian nation though had devastated the economy and had caused great damage to the social welfare psyche of the population, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), have, through much pain and challenges, come to realize that Western education was more profitable than illiteracy! Adult IDPs from the North East States theatre of war, numbering more than 1.5 million, and scattered in several camps across the nation, in the period of over five years of atrocities (2009-2015), have, with the assistance of their host governments, organised basic education of pre-primary and primary, including secondary schooling attachments in already existing institutions for their young ones whom they have envisaged would only fit into an emerging “Change” Nigerian nation of the 21 Century Nigeria with sound education instead of the false doctrine of Boko Haram which abhor Western education! If at a tender age, a child lost the parental obligation to be instructed to comprehend the benefits of good morals and also uneducated to appreciate the necessity for human societies and institutions to develop, progress and dwell in unity, peace and harmony, that child is deemed to have been robbed of the basic foundation of godly living.

The divine instruction is for parents to train or dedicate children to proper and acceptable societal norms, so that when they mature in age, would not turn from such vital basic education.[ Read, Proverbs. 22: 6].

In addition, it is also mandatory for good governments, to provide at least free, qualitative and compulsory primary and secondary education for the up-coming generation of youths in order to avoid restiveness and ensure stability and success in administration.

The World Day for Social Injustice is marked annually in February, to remind leaders and all people in position of authority of the urgent need to ensure social justice in all facets of life a doctrine that is embraced and acknowledged by Civil Society Groups,[CSG], Non Governmental Organisations[NGO] and governments of the federation in view of the escalating brutality of the Boko Haram insurgency, which has taken a very frightening dimension in the incessant cold blooded murder of innocent school children in the North Eastern Geo-Political Zone.

This terrorist group, embarked on a new strategy of killing school children in June 2013 and have persisted as a way of saying, “….if we hadn’t the opportunity of education, they should not!” Twice in June 2013, these insurgents invaded boarding schools in Bornu State, murdered several school children in their sleep and on Tuesday 25 February 2014, besieged, yet, another boarding school in Yobe State and killed about 50 innocent secondary school students…. in all, over 100 souls have met untimely deaths apart from the over 250 kidnapped Chibok Secondary school girls whose fate remain unknown!

We must agree that social injustices like, lack of the basic necessities of life, food, clothing, shelter, good basic education, the unacceptable situations of poverty, human degradation in all forms, tribalism, nepotism, marginalisation, exploitation and insecurity are all MAN- MADE!

The emerging Northern Nigeria politicians until the “Change” All Progressives Congress (APC), Government emerged in May 2015, did not help matters in that instead of massively educating their youths, they capitalised on religious antecedents to lure them into employment as body guards to perpetrate political crimes of ballot box snatching, thuggery and all manner of intimidation of opponents, during political campaigns and elections only to dump them when they were no longer useful!

Between 1999 and 2007, a period of eight years, the two-term Governor of Bornu State, despoiled the youths in this manner and thus birthed the nucleus of the hydra-headed insurgency that is presently troubling not only that region, but the entire nation

When an amnesty channel for dialogue with the Boko Haram was initiated by the Federal Government between 2012- 2013, the insurgents bluntly refused financial inducements as bases for cessation of atrocities unlike the case with the Niger Delta militants, which was initiated by the Late President, Umaru Yar’Adua in 2008.

If they disagreed then what makes President Buhari think they would negotiate now if not only to by time and regroup for more onslaughts? Never will Nigeria negotiate amnesty, peace or clemency with monstrous felons who mindlessly killed, slaughtered, decapitated and maimed almost ONE MILLION innocent Nigerians in cold blood in this long-drawn and unwarranted war of attrition because this is the divinely appointed time to tighten the noose around their neck and exterminate once and for all violence from our nation! It is instructive to note that the year 2015 is the globally designated year by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNICEF), for every child in Sub-Saharan Africa, where only one of every five children have advantage of early education, to be enrolled in school. According to UNICEF data, some 57 million children of primary school age around the world do not attend school, more than half of these live in sub-Saharan Africa, with 20% domiciled in South and West Africa. It is also on record that 54% of out of school children in this region are girls.In the year 2000, at the World Education Forum, in Dakar, the International Community adopted the Education for All Global Action Plan 2015 was set as target date for achieving the goals, the same date as for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), launched in the same year. One decade after, in 2010, sixty-nine million young people of secondary school age (10-16 years), did not attend secondary school while some 774 million young people (over 15 years of age) and adults –mostly women – could not read and write! Socially disadvantaged groups and people domiciled in conflict regions who were severely hampered found access to education highly difficult and mostly impossible! In spite of the 2015 deadline, not a single goal could be identified globally between years 2000 - 2014 despite all advances and efforts by donor countries/governments because domestic funds were not generously appropriated to primary education while more attention was given to tertiary in sub-Saharan Africa! Is it not very clear from the foregoing analysis that the illiterate youths and school drop-outs are the global militants/terrorists of various categories found among the rank and file of Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, Al Shabab and ISIS of the 21 Century? In Nigeria, it is believed that about 10million children of primary school age – mostly girls – are not in school due to several factors ranging from diverse cultures, ethnic considerations and religion – most especially in the Northern parts. How much did the last administration appropriate for Education in the 2015 Budget if not the usual paltry 4-5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), in spite of millions of monies from foreign donor countries? Was it not in Nigeria that Education appropriations were diverted to road construction projects at the detriment of school pupils and students while the Federal Minister involved in the aberration was not even queried? We thank God that IDPs and the affected governments of the North East States, have now placed greater emphasis on the education of their youths having come to grips with the bitter truth that the Boko Harams of today were the uneducated, uncouth and illiterate street children of yesterday! *We support the Safe School Initiative which was launched at the World Economic Forum on Africa in Nigeria in November 2014, by Nigerian business leaders, working with the United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education, Mr Gordon Brown, the Global Business Coalition and a World at School.

The Initiative was launched with an initial $10million US dollars in response to the growing number of attacks on the right to education in the North East States and in solidarity, the Federal government agreed to match the amount with an additional $10million, in a meeting between former President Jonathan and the UN Special Envoy for Global Education.

One hundred ($100million US dollars), is set target for the SSI to which more funds would be raised according to the Envoy who promised his assistance.

This joint effort on the protection of the right to learn in Nigeria is based on best practices from global standards which emphasizes that Safe Schools must be prioritized for continuity in education, even in HIGH RISK AREAS!

*We appreciate the fact that sufficient funds have been made available according to the Finance Minister, who expressed the hope that SSI will re-kindle the needed motivation for parents and children whose sense of safety had been shattered by the violence.

Students under the voluntary programme would enjoy full scholarships covering books and boarding from Junior Secondary School I, to Senior Secondary 3, at the 32 Federal Unity Schools across the country. Funds will also be made to parents who would visit their wards occasionally.

The SSI is a very laudable project which deserves necessary precautionary security measures since the entire North East schools could not re-locate to other parts of Nigeria. President Buhari should as a matter of urgent necessity instruct the Minister of Education to be appointed to give priority attention to SSI as our brethren return to their homeland in a short while! LAWAL MUSA DAURA MUST SPEAK OUT NOW ON AKWA IBOM STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE INVASION !

All allegations of impunity, recklessness, harassment, intimidation and high-handedness against the Department of State Security (DSS), since the reported invasion of the Akwa Ibom Government House had reverberated negatively in the public domain and re-kindled reminiscences of the “Gestapo” regime of former military dictators of the past and a collective condemnation against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Federal Government of President Muhammadu Buhari! That single act of disrespect and embarrassment to a sitting governor, (the constitutional Chief Security Officer of the State), which was yet to be confirmed or denied by DSS, was predicated, according to rumour mills, on an “intelligence report of an imaginary cache of firearms, believed to have been stock-piled in the Akwa Ibom Government House, Uyo! According to several reports in both print and electronic media since the incident, the “invasion” was master-minded and carried out by a band of DSS classified operatives from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja without prior knowledge of their Akwa Ibom counterparts who were taken unawares just like all law-abiding Nigerian citizens. The present crop of DSS Operatives germinated as off-shoots of the secret service “E” Department of the Nigeria Police Force and National Security Organization (NSO), which were then responsible for domestic security issues including threats or acts of subversion, including monitoring and control of expatriates bio-data from Independence to June 1986 when General Ibrahim Babangida decreed the State Security Service (SSS also known as DSS), into existence! The baton of operation as the 10 Director General was handed over to Mr. Lawal Musa Daura after the “resignation” of Ita Ekpeyong in July, 2015. We have it on good authority that part of the Hand-Over Notes included the following wordings, “......repressing political activities of opposition parties with a view to always intimidating them to submission!” During the tenure of Ita Ekpeyong, all opposition political parties and masses of the poor citizens all tasted the bitter pills of the toughness and power of DSS Operatives who invaded both the private and public lives of the masses with much intimidation and harassments – even during the staggered governorship elections which took place in the South-West geo-political zone in 2014 under the watchful eyes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which terminated of 29 May, 2015! Ekpeyong introduced MASKED AND HOODED DSS Operatives into an otherwise peaceful scenario of the Nigerian political landscape and we protested in our 53 publication of Zion B-BC Newsletter of 17 August, 2014 under the following topic: “BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE! Hooded Aliens!

Hooded Aliens from outer space have landed… An Unidentified Flying Object (UFO), is on our shore;

In the market place, the other day,

The Masked Goons were sighted;

Some were at an elite august occasion,

Closely protecting one particular ‘First Lady’;

Others took over from the Road Safety Corps;

Peering at passenger vehicles in broad daylight,

Sending cold shivers into human spines;

Our Traditional Masquerades (“from the spirit world”),

Are known to be very friendly;

Even, LAGBAJA, (internationally-acclaimed musician), “is a cool guy;”

These Masked Ones are different - Very intimidating, very unfriendly! They are definitely not our KITHS AND KINS; But, the last time we checked, they were the UMPIRES….. AT THE JUST CONCLUDED OSUN STATE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION!

Hooded Security Agents in other climes are usually deployed for covert (secret) operations which demanded hidden identities for their protection, especially in cases that involved ‘war’ against drug barons, oil thieves and money launderers, who would stop at nothing to maintain ‘status quo’, in their nefarious and heinous businesses!

Although the spokesperson of Nigeria’s DSS, Maryln Ogah, admitted that the outfit was being run with the tax payer funds, she still asserted that, “…nobody can dictate to us how our operatives dress when they go on operations!”

We disagree with this unguarded and reckless statement for the following reasons:

From time immemorial, Nigerians have associated HOODS AND MASKS to armed robbers, assassins, murderers, arsonists and the criminally-minded; not to law-enforcement agents!

Government security agents who had to wear hoods in the past were very discreet, because they never paraded themselves in the public glare with masks!

Why would DSS hide the identities of its men on electioneering duties, if there was no ulterior motive – especially when Mr. President, who DSS spokesperson described as “very lenient”, publicly announced that OSUN STATE would witness the FEDERAL MIGHT on August 9, 2014?

Over 73.000 combined Security Agents were deployed to OSUN STATE, but only DSS operatives were hooded to execute very special operations different from maintaining law and order at the elections!

It is on record that the HOODED ONES actually arrested, detained and harassed some electorates with guns, (purchased with tax payer monies), before, during and after the elections!

If deaths were recorded at OSUN on August 9, 2014, who would have been held responsible?

When confronted with the possibility that the criminal-minded could impersonate the masked DSS operatives, the spokesperson categorically debunked the idea by saying that the “T-SHIRTS were designed with special marks!”

If the Boko Haram insurgents could disguise in Nigerian Army camouflage to abduct over 250 Chibok School girls, can’t they or other miscreants don the “specially-designed T-SHIRTS”, now that there is an official approval for masking DSS operatives?

It is not international best practice for security operatives to appear in public, especially in broad daylight, hooded!

With this development it is now very clear that the root-cause of our national malaise of under-development, socio-economic contract failure, deep-rooted corruption and insecurity, in the last 54 years of independence, is due to MASQUERADE LEADERS BEHIND THE MASKS!”

We thank God that following the above publication which was forwarded to the Jonathan Administration, all DSS Operative that were posted to subsequent elections and security duties were not hooded – even during the 2015 General Elections! We will also remember Mr. Ita Ekpeyong for invading APC’s Information Communications Centre in Lagos on two different occasions with DSS Operatives supervised by Maryln Ogah, under the pretext that the then Opposition Party hacked into INEC Data base and also produced fake Voters Cards for the 2015 General Elections! Now that the DSS has been inherited by the APC Government and Lawal Daura is the anointed Director General, why was the leopard in that organization finding it difficult to change its skin? The DSS target at Uyo Government House according to reliable sources was the former Governor, Godswill Akpabio, who still occupied the Presidential wing of the edifice but presently overseas for medical check up! Can the raid of DSS Operatives of former governor now Senator Akpabio’s apartment be regarded as a reprisal for the raids on APC’s Secretariat in Lagos before the 2015 elections because we learnt that they destroyed properties, harassed and intimidated government house staff and visitors into the building for several hours without finding a SINGLE WEAPON OR STACKS OF CASH; though they were neither Hooded nor Hoodwinked, they had an unrestrained and uninhibited field day! Some school of thought said the DSS mission was to distabilize the administration of the incumbent Governor through accusations of being privy to firearms compilation and money laundering crimes insided the government house by his predecessor as part of APC’s grand design to acquire by force the PDP controlled States of Akwa Ibom, Abia, Delta, Rivers, and Taraba! According to this thought, tons of firearms cache and about USD $500million dollars were recovered and carted away to Abuja as exhibits even though both Emmanuel Idom and his guest Godswill Akpabio were absent during the alleged raid and search by DSS Operatives! As at the time of this publication, the new DSS Director General has not given any official statement over that breach of protocol at the Government House, Akwa Ibom, in spite of public outcry over the several allegations against his Operatives! The constitutional duties of the DSS as presently constituted include the following: To defend and protect the Federal Republic of Nigeria against domestic threats. To uphold and enforce the criminal laws of Nigeria and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to both the Federal and State law enforcement organs. Protection of the President and his Vice, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, State Governors and their immediate families, other high-ranking government officials, past presidents and their spouses, certain candidates for the offices of President, Vice President and visiting Heads of State and Governments. State Security Service (SSS), or Department of State Services (DSS), was restructured and two distinct entities, the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), handling external intelligence and counter intelligence and the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), saddled with military – related intelligence within or outside of Nigeria, were created for adequate national security under the overall control of the National Security Adviser (NSA), within the Presidency in 1986. Being the security agency in charge of domestic issues, the DSS has been the most prominent and the most notorious due to various political influences and the partisanship to which it had been exposed to over the years especially since 1999 when the new attempt at democracy debuted and that is the more reason why controversial Lawal Musa Daura cannot afford to keep quiet! The time to speak out is NOW because tomorrow may be too late, the Nigerian taxpayers who pay his salaries demand to know what truly happened at the Akwa Ibom Government House on 4 September, 2015! We can assure Daura that Mr. President would not hesitate to remove him from office if found culpable even if he were his first cousin! A word in enough for the wise in the acclaimed righteous government of this dispensation where hooded or masquerade leaders have no place! BEWARE: FIRE HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE ONE WHO KINDLED IT! POLICE MUST PROSECUTE SENATE RULES FORGERS !

POLICE MUST PROSECUTE SENATE RULES FORGERS!

Forgery is a criminal offence of felony under Section 465 of the Criminal Code; but for five distinguished Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to have “inadvertently” filed an alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Orders document in the form of a civil suit at an Abuja Federal High Court in order to contest its legality and later to withdraw same within two months of clueless litigation, suggest two legal opinions: one, that the legislators were novices in legal matters or, two, had pretended faked loyalty to the ruling party, being members of the self-acclaimed, “Senate Unity Forum! In the run to the appointments of principal officers of the upper legislative body, the 2015 Senate Standing Orders or Rules document was alleged to have been purportedly and deliberately forged to favour the incumbent occupiers of the two highest offices, President and Deputy President, in the persons of the duo of Abubakar ‘Bukola Saraki of the All Progressives Party (APC), and Ike Ekweremadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a marriage of convenience to some party dissidents. On 31 August, 2015, the alleged forgery case was struck out and terminated by the High Court Judge according to the prayers of the litigants who gave no cogent reason for the withdrawal! The judge also ruled against further case (civil) hearing on the matter! The first thought that should be addressed is whether a criminal case or matter should be entertained as civil litigation in court without falling foul of being regarded as an abuse of court process as in the case of the “Unity Forum Senators” and the second thought is, now that the case has been struck out and terminated, should it die a natural legal death? The most reasonable opinion and legal answer is NO, for the reasons that an offence of forgery had been established through the Police Investigation Report which had indicted the two principal officers and some administrative staff of the National Assembly (NASS), especially the Clerk, Salisu Mai Kasuwa of culpability, and had recommended prosecution of the suspects, while a copy of the report had been forwarded to the President who was yet to comment or decide on the matter in view of his avowed stand of non-interference in legislative internal affairs! According to the Police Report, the alleged forged rules had been used in the controversial election of the Senate President and his deputy on 9 June 2015 to inaugurate the 8 NASS. Police investigators who acted on a petition by a patriotic Senator Sulaiman Hunkuyi (APC), Kaduna State, interrogated Senator Ekweremadu, the NASS Clerk (custodian of the forged document), and other ranking officers over the alleged forgery in which some parts of the 2015 Senate Orders were discovered to be different from the one ratified by the 6 Senate in 2010 and which was used by the 7 Senate as Standing Orders 2011. According to the Section 465 of the Criminal Code, a person who makes a false document or writing knowing it to be false, and with intent that it may in any way be used or acted upon as genuine, in Nigeria or elsewhere, to the prejudice of any person, or with intent that any person may in the believe that it is genuine, be induced to do or refrain from doing any act, whether in Nigeria or elsewhere is said to forge the document or writing and is guilty of a criminal offence of Felony which attracts a penalty of three years jail term, a fine or both! Points to prove include the following: That the accused made a false document or writing. That the accused knew that the document or writing he made was false. That the accused had the intention that the false document or writing may be used or acted upon as genuine. That the accused intended that whoever acted upon the document in the belief that the document is genuine would be induced to do or refrain from doing any act. According to the Police detailed report, the controversial 2015 Senate Standing Orders, Rule 3, as contained on page 4 of the document which has to do with the election of presiding officers, had shown that it was different from the 2011 Senate Order because Rule 3(e)(i) and(ii) have been included in the 2015 edition to accommodate electronic voting and secret ballot and ballot papers, which were not specifically mentioned in the 2011 Standing Orders. Whereas the Senate Order 3(e)(ii) of the 2011 document states: “ That voting shall be conducted by the Clerks-at-the-Table, using the Division List of Senate with the Tellers in attendance, (ii) the Clerk of the Senate shall submit the result of the division to the Clerk of the National Assembly and (iii) that the Clerk shall then declare the Senator-elect who has received the greater numbers of votes elected as President of the Senate; the same Section in the 2015 Senate Order reads: “Voting by secret ballot which shall be conducted by the Clerk-at- Table using the list of Senators-elect of the Senate shall each be given a ballot paper to cast his vote with the proposers and the seconder as Teller and the Clerk of the Senate shall submit the result of the voting to the Clerk of the National Assembly who shall then declare Senator-elect who has received the highest number of votes as Senate President elect.” The Police Report concluded that apart from the “alteration” to the procedure for election, Order 95 of the 2011 rule on the chairmanship and membership of committees is also different in the 2015 version. Where the former (2011) states that (i) membership of all committees shall not be less than 11 and not more than 13 Senators; (ii) no Senator shall serve in more than three committees and (3) no Committee Chairman shall serve in more than one other committee, the latter (2015 version) states that the appointment of Senators as Chairmen and members of committees shall be carried in such a manner as to reflect the six geo-political zones of the country and there shall be no predominance of Senators from a few geo-political zone! Police has recommended immediate prosecution of all suspects in the forgery according to the extant laws of the land because all Senators of the 8 Assembly avowed that they were not aware of any amendments to the 2011 Senate Standing Orders! We have no doubt on our mind that a prima facie case has been established and it was high time that charity began at home with the new All Progressives Congress government which must crush the inordinate ambitions of its greedy politicians of this end time! According to Police sources, a copy of the report has also been forwarded to the office of Attorney General of the Federation for legal advice for prosecution and with all steps taken so far, we believe that this matter would not be swept under any carpet! Everyone in this new regime must be forced to face the consequences of his/her actions or inaction in office! Abubakar ‘Bukola Saraki and all his accomplices in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during the Senate Presidency election saga, should be made to face the music! There should be no SACRED COWS since it is no longer business as usual! Mr. President, the ball is in your court!

ONE HUNDRED DAYS OF BUHARI IN OFFICE!

During an interview at Chatham House, London, March, 2015 as a Presidential aspirant, President Buhari put paid to the jinx surrounding “100 DAYS IN OFFICE”, by telling the world that much as he would try very diligently to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens if elected, he would not play the magician but promised to tackle insurgency, delete corruption, nullify issues of infrastructural decay of government institutions and agencies, entrench the dignity of the rule of law, ensure all revenue generating arms of government led by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), pay into a single account while anti-corruption agencies would operate without government interference and all monies would be paid into the Federation account as specified in the 1999 Nigerian Constitution! During this very short period, PMB plugged excessive leakages in government expenses and all loopholes for siphoning monies through dubious claims and Nigeria’s foreign reserve earnings increased from USD $29billion to USD $31billion! What a feat! We are witnesses to the truth that PMB is working assiduously on all fronts of promises to Nigerians and on 3 September, 2015, he and his Vice, Professor ‘Yemi Oshibajo declared their assets publicly so that others could follow their good leadership examples and qualities. Already, a serving APC Senator, Shehu Sani, from Kaduna State has followed the footsteps of these new exemplary leaders by also declaring his assets publicly! THIS IS CHANGE PER EXECELLENCE. In this new dispensation STEALING IS CORRUPTION and we all stand to be dammed as a nation if all public officers refuse to follow the sterling qualities of the new leaders because PMB gives a damn about righteousness in government!. GRUMBLERS HAVE ONLY TWO CHOICES: BEND OR BREAK FOR CHANGE !

GRUMBLERS HAVE ONLY TWO CHOICES: BEND OR BREAK FOR C-H-A-N-G-E! Only the selfish, greedy, covetous, proud, boaster and blasphemer would be blind to decipher the bold “handwriting on the wall” that the incumbent Nigerian administration was divinely planned, packaged and being mobilized to favour the down-trodden, nobodies, undistinguished and commonplace people in the Nigerian society! Which of the emergent post 2015 General Elections arm-chair critics and fire brigade commentators even believed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), had the slightest chance of winning the elections thought to be a done-deal for the failed government which party monopolized the political scenario for 16 consecutive years? The first priorities of the new government were majorly two-pronged: to provide an enabling atmosphere for economic security and the people’s welfare by crushing the elongated Boko Haram terrorism headlong and also to confront and wipe out the cancerous plague of corruption from the polity and the society at large through the recovery of all looted or embezzled government funds and the prosecution of all culprits to deter others from such financial crimes. President Buhari left no one in doubt concerning his government’s socialist policy direction which emphasized the geographical spread of all dividends of democracy to ensure alleviation of poverty in all its forms, shades and ramifications through aggressive economic industrialization of the nation from the grassroots, intensification of Agriculture and massive youth self- employment orientation programmes as spelt out in APC’s manifesto. And while laying a solid foundation for actualising his Party’s avowed programmes through local and international consultations and treaties, the contracted critics described President Buhari’s actions as too slow for meaningful progress whereas this President on assumption of office, aside of Boko Haram’s escalation of terror, was also confronted and dazzled by the flood of illicit financial flow in the financial portfolio of a country whose citizens were forced into abject poverty and had to checkmate the money launderers, strip them of all illegal earnings in order to refill the near empty treasury which he inherited from his predecessor! Since the new millennium especially between the year 2000 and 2008, according to the United Nations, Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) statistics, Africa lost in excess of USD $50billion dollars annually to illicit financial flows which level exceeded the official foreign development assistance of USD $46.1billion dollars in the year 2012! On its part, Nigeria in that same year 2012, lost USD $7.92 billion dollars to corruption through illicit financial flows, according to a United States-based non-profit research and advisory organization, Global Financial Integrity (GFI). The above financial reports which were released in December 2014 provided the templates for the economic blue prints on which President Buhari and his economic team are cautiously treading to sort out the “wheat from the chaff” of inherited financial recklessness of past administrations before plunging into fresh financial commitments! It is very pertinent for emphasis to remind our readers that President Muhammadu Buhari is not an ACCIDENTAL STATESMAN IN OFFICE, having made three spirited efforts (2003, 2007, 2011), to actualize his aborted dream of 1984-1985 as a Military General to reverse Nigeria’s inglorious global appellation and image of a corrupt nation, to that of an economically viable country run by righteous and patriotic men and women in government. In the three months (29 May – 29 August 2015), of the new administration, the biased critics have seen nothing worthy of praise or commendation with the well-calculated CHANGE programmes aimed to rescue the TALAKAWAS OF NIGERIA from the influences of the former fraudulent politicians whose illicit financial outflows which have now been rejected by Nigerian Banks have heightened economic trends of hyper inflation on all commodities, goods and services in which loose monies are chasing insufficient commodities! The Back seat drivers, like “Samballats and Tobiahses”, have permanently constituted themselves into stumbling blocks of offense and cogs in the wheel of progress of a righteous government which is acceptable to all Nigerians except those who believed that through antagonisms they would escape the searchlight of the anti-corruption train already in motion to bulldoze all those who have stolen from the coffers of the nation and recover same for continuous economic development” President Buhari promised Nigerians to pick the best of the best of capable hands of like passion to work closely with him to achieve set objectives of the transparent government in the shortest time frame possible and because of the 30 appointments made, only seven were from the Southern parts of the country, his detractors have condemned him to Northern agenda policy in spite of all plausible explanations that at the close of the exercise, a balanced equation would eventually emerge! We need to remind our readers again at this juncture of the “doctrine of equal share” that was posited by the President during his United States tour as follows: “By the Constitution, no State can be excluded from government. “If I come clear and show and MARGINALIZE a certain group because they didn’t vote for me, then I have already contradicted myself. And I am sure people will be quick to pick that.” We are convinced that because Mr. President is not alien to all of Nigeria’s political, social, and economic woes because he had served his country as a Military Head of State, and also because he succeeded to become a civilian President on his fourth attempt, bestowed on him the requisite wisdom and knowledge to keep the nation’s boat afloat and sail it to the safe land of our collective and desired goals of economic buoyancy and political recognition! President Buhari is on track because he is being divinely guided to pick trusted Nigerians with impeccable antecedents who will work assiduously and run with the vision of transforming a nation, which by past predictions would by now have become a “banana republic” to an Eldorado! Are these spoilers really concerned about the so-called loop-sided appointments or about selfish interests of financial benefits that should accrue to them through preferred candidates? Did it ever occur to them that the persistent insurgency has created enormous socio-economic challenges of refugees and internally displaced persons who had to be rehabilitated, re-orientated, nurtured and succoured by the new APC government which must put round pegs in round holes, that is ,persons with positive attitudes who would deliver the dividends of democracy in the form of all inalienable amenities of good and healthy life, qualitative education and employment opportunities, to actualize the desired goals of true democracy? Were they really concerned about federal character in the spread of appointments and portfolios or about the “business as usual” posture of who grabs what for the benefit of a very few percentage of the populace and do they care about the doctrine of good governance, equity and fair play by qualified, dedicated and righteous persons in government? Gone are the days of constructive and articulate criticisms from patriots and God-fearing persons who believe in the overall benefits of the entire population through right leadership that should be guided and encouraged to continue in the right direction! How many Nigerians were aware that because of the endemic corruption of past administrations of 29th May, 1999 -29 May, 2015, the nation was denied membership of the prestigious OPEN GOVERNMENT PARTNERSHIP/PARLIAMENT (OGP), an influential, global anti-corruption initiative backed by major developed nations to ensure governments’ commitment to promote transparency and empower citizens, fight corruption and use new technologies to strengthen governance. In 2012, Democracy Index, Nigeria was ranked the 7 most terrorized country in the world! Nigeria showed interest in 2013 but could not meet the mark because of its corruption index rating coupled with official refusal to declare assets publicly!President Buhari is set to reverse all of these past anomalies and chart a new course for Nigeria through a political culture of absolute transparency and righteousness in governance. He is ready to fulfil all necessary admission requirements for admission into the Open Government Partnership: Ensure audit reports of public accounts particularly by the Auditor General of the Federation and proactively disclose and make available to members of the public. That incomes of all categories of public officers are proactively disclosed as required by the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, Section 2 (3) (d) (VI) and other applicable laws. That Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), should bring itself into compliance with the FOI Act by acceding to requests from members of the public for it to disclose Assets Declarations in its custody submitted by elected and senior government officials, which constitute information maintained by it as a PUBLIC INSTITUTION within the meaning of the Act. Ensure improved citizens participation and civic engagement in policy making and in all aspects of governance including Nigeria’s membership of the Open Government Partnership (OGP). Grumblers who are stumbling blocks in this crusade against insecurity and massive corruption which demanded very serious and critical surgery to remove all cancerous viruses and save Nigeria nation from self-imposed destruction, needed to be informed now that if they refused to bend or break, they should proceed on self-exile for the EIGHT YEARS (2015-2023) OF BUHARI’S TWO TERMS IN ASO VILLA! President Buhari is the divine vessel in the Hand of GOD for the re-orientation, renovation, reconstruction and rehabilitation of Nigeria’s dented image through the painful scars or Boko Haram terrorism and of the deliberate massive looting of the treasury. For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the judge: He puts down one, and sets up another. Will the grumblers challenge or contend with the CREATOR OF NIGERIA?
