THE PAN NIGER DELTA FORUM ELDERS PARTICIPATED IN PIPELINES VANDALISM!

The Pan Niger Delta Forum 100-man delegation which met with President Muhamadu Buhari on 1st November, 2016, neither accepted responsibility for economic sabotage against Nigeria either by default through their tacit acquiescence, nor tendered an apology on behalf of their terrorist youths who deliberately vandalized critical crude oil pipe lines in their region with demonic relish to vent anger for the loss of their kinsman at the 2015 Presidential polls! Instead, they brazenly DEMANDED, through the submission of a 16-point agenda, how peace should be restored to the oil-rich region as if no one else existed but themselves! What an effrontery, what an insult to the psyche and sensibilities of all Nigerians who had suffered untold hardships through the treasonable felony of over 18 Niger Delta Opposition terrorist groups, who for selfish demands, vandalized the collective oil wealth, and deprived the nation of its foreign exchange earnings for consecutive 13 months unabated, with the succinct support of these elders! With this kind of very pathetic development in matters of national insecurity poised through deliberate acts of sabotage through household enemies, should it not be the concern of patriotic citizens that it was time to deal with this recurring attitude of impunity by the Niger Delta region according to the RULE OF LAW instead of the carrot and stick formula?
If the elders pretended that the brutal murders and massacres of innocent citizens - including several law-enforcement operatives - by their terrorist children did not deserve penalties and punishments, then the Federal Government should draw their attention to the fact that they grossly erred during the caucus deliberations that preceded their audience with the President since no mention of lawful chastisements to be meted to the culprits was included in their selfish demands!

The first step towards sanity in the region must be for the vandals to surrender themselves and all illegal arms and ammunitions in their custody to their respective State Governments and face prosecution for vandalism and economic sabotage against the Government and people of Nigeria! The second is for a general assessment of damages to be compiled by Federal Government Engineers/Auditors, so that restitution could be made by all vandal-infested States on behalf of their recalcitrant wards; and the third is for the repairs/replacements of damaged/destroyed pipelines that clean-up of environmental pollution through burst pipes might commence! These elders were witnesses to the boastings of these criminal youths who openly declared that they would destroy all oil pipelines to deprive the ruling government of all economic gains from that region but acquiesced even though, an African adage says that the "hoary hair would not sit idly in the market place while his youths perish without protection"!

An objective study of some of the selfish demands include the resuscitation of the Presidential Amnesty Programme - inclusive of job opportunities after rehabilitation; that Federal Government should reduce military presence to avoid "human abuse", (of which the terrorists were culprits); Security surveillance and protection of  oil and gas infrastructure to be transferred to the communities headed by the elders instead of to individuals like Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias "Tompolo", who was declared wanted for economic crimes and his comrade-in-arms who became multi billionaires through pipelines protection contracts awarded to them by the Jonathan's Administration!
Is it not very glaring that these elders, instead of requesting for the employment of patriotic youths and vigilantes for pipeline protection, they had more or less solicited the transfer of the very very juicy contract to themselves as head chiefs of the communities? Can we conveniently opine that the people and elders of this "oil rich" region have begun to feel the crunch of the self-imposed economic recession on Nigeria by the riverine vandals through the principles of the LAW OF CAUSE and EFFECT; following more and more devastation and degradation of their soils through incessant oil pollution by these rebellious children?
Could it be a smart move by the Pan Niger Delta Forum Elders, to quickly strike a lucrative deal with the Buhari Change Administration before the CHAD BASIN OIL EXPLORATION COMES INTO FRUITION AND NOT TO BE ABANDONED TO SWIM AND DRINK THE MIRY AND DISEASED-INFESTED POOLS OF OIL RIVERS? How could they have pretended to have forgotten that at least THREE of their former governors (Bayelsa, Edo and Delta), were convicted for economic crimes of fraud and embezzlement of crude oil funds, at home and abroad? That the Niger Delta Development Corporation (NDDC) had always been under the searchlight of the EFCC because of incessant public complaints and petitions against alleged financial misappropriation and contract inflated figures?
Have they also easily forgotten that the South-South Geo-Political Zone comprising of all Niger Delta oil producing States collect on monthly basis, from the common wealth, 13% derivation fund to cushion the effects of environmental devastation and degradation through a continuous oil exploration and exploitation by both local and foreign companies? How could the elders so easily forget that the Ogoni People of the Niger Delta Region were mourning the 21st year anniversary of the death of KEN SARO-WIWA, a peace-loving environmental activist, who never took up arms against his country but murdered in cold blood by the Abacha Military administration while they were negotiating to reap from his sweat and blood? While government ruminates over the SELFISH DEMANDS, it is instructive for all good and very resilient citizens of Nigeria to understand that no section or region of the vast country - under the present constitutional arrangement could decide to become an island to itself. The clarion call for united nation should not be of lip -service!

TRUTH has no social, political or economic coloration! Truth is saying it as it is, doing it right according to laid down principles and in obedience to the rule of law; Truth is the opposite of lie and truth is bitter! The following truths according to God's lexicon says: "While the earth remaineth seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." Whatever was the mission of the Pan Niger Delta Forum emissaries to the Aso Villa, Abuja, it is crystal clear to the poor and downtrodden masses of that region that whether their representatives were governors, pipeline vandals, or chieftain elders, they would always be SHORT-CHANGED; and this is the gospel truth!
While the governors have become super rich, the riverine terrorists/contractors have become super-duper rich, while the elders would not be sidelined from becoming the latest and emerging billionaires of the oil-rich zone; Niger Deltans and Nigerians by extension can hardly make two meals per day because of cost inflation of goods and services caused through the brazen destruction of the nation's oil pipelines by SONS OF THE SOIL! Must this trend of man's inhumanity to man continue? Because Of The Continuous 13-month Vandalization Of Pipelines Lines, the Federal Government has intensified the implementation of diversification of the economy of revenue earnings to non-oil products in the agricultural, food products, manufactured products, minerals, transport and industrial sectors, which though went through some shrinking towards the end of the second quarter, but from sources close the National Economic Council (NEC), the economic activities occasioned by the fall in productive capacities of industrialists have been reinvigorated for greater capacities through capital financing.

It is important for all patriotic Nigerians to believe that the recession challenges are temporary and would be surmounted in spite of all manner of sabotage sooner than envisaged. Advocacy in respect of the true perspective and position of the recession is being disseminated by the federal government through all its information media and orientation agencies to the grass root for patience and perseverance.  Though, we share the thoughts of some analysts who said that local and foreign investors would need further re-assurances from the Federal Government that investment in the non- oil sector would yield desired dividends, we are categorical that with all adequate measures put in place, these investors would definitely compete for placements in this last quarter in view of profitable incentives already in place! The Executive Director of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Mr. 'Segun Awolowo, who said that his agency was mindful of the challenges facing the non-oil sector, revealed that it has commenced its ZERO TO EXPORT INITIATIVE to support new generation of Nigerian exporters to effectively and profitably participate in the sector, adding that the Federal Government's fiscal strategy framework for the next three consecutive years was based on NON-OIL!
He attributed the initiative to recent developments on global commodities market which had triggered the wake-up call on the need for Nigeria to accelerate the diversification of its economy by moving away from an over dependence on oil as its main source of revenue. and predicted that with an effective implementation, non-oil exports would be enabled to increase the nation's foreign exchange reserves to $150billion USD within the next 10 years! We are equally optimistic that with the steady progress of the Change Agenda Economic Team, all opportunists like the Pan Niger Delta Forum elders would realize that they were no longer relevant to negotiate from oil derivation positions in their zone!
As at the time of this publication, the OGONI PEOPLE declared at a press conference that the elders did not have Niger Deltans mandate to negotiate with the Federal Government for peace agreement on the vandalization of pipelines, but that their 16-point demand mainly bordered on their selfish interests, covetousness and greed!

CORRUPTION IN THE JUDICIARY WILL CRUMBLE THROUGH DIVINE ANOINTING OF FEW NIGERIANS!

All through its early national history, the Israelites, - especially during the Old Testament Bible times, - had an arch-enemy in a Semitic warrior race called the Philistines, who were as numerous "as the sands of the sea shore"; always over-bearing, proud and arrogant in attitude towards the Jews for their sheer intimidating population! There was a time during a deliberately provoked war, that the Philistine soldiers broke the ranks of the Israeli forces and stole from them, their most priced and treasured protective divine symbol, "The Ark of the Covenant of God", which went up before every battle they ever won. However, it turned out that the Holy Ark was divinely fortified and too powerful for the pagans to keep in their custody in that, when they placed the Ark of God side by side with their human-fashioned idol god called "Dagon", the idol fell and broke its neck at the first instance and at the second, when it was repaired and set up again, it fell heavily and broke into smittens! (Read I Samuel. Chapters 4-7).
There was another time when they provoked another war in which they besieged the entire nation of Israel and challenged the Jewish soldiers to choose the strongest among them to a duel with their giant warrior called Goliath; 13 feet, 4 inches (5.4 metres), tall man-mountain, who had mighty helmet, spear, sword and shield! After weeks of bragging without any opponent in sight, God chose a young shepherd boy called David to call the Philistines' bluff! He did not only kill the Goliath with a smooth brook stone, slung from his sling, but also cut off his head with the mighty sword which he inherited as war souvenir! Seeing that their giant was killed, the Philistines fled but were pursued by the Israeli soldiers, and great was the slaughter! And throughout David's latter years of reign as King of Israel, the Philistines were totally routed! (Read I Samuel Chapter 17). The import of the preceding narrative is that every creation - especially Nigerian ATHEISTS who are replica of the biblical ungodly Philistines - should believe that GOD is sovereign over all of His creation and that He and He alone, Has the power over all the affairs of men and can achieve His purposes through very FEW individuals like a small nation as Israel and a young lad like David! Nigeria's common wealth like the "Ark of God” is too precious for rogues to covet, steal and keep!  If God could defeat evil and aggressive nations by few groups through His supernatural powers, would it be difficult for Him to set up a righteous government in Nigeria through a few group, arrest all those who had broken into the coffers of this nation and embezzled all of its silver/gold and recover from all of them, the loots in their custody? It is no longer news that many corrupt Nigerians who benefitted from illicit wealth had made restitution by returning such to government; and it will be in the interest of the others to follow suit before the divine whip strikes them with incurable plagues as reprisal for their greediness! Naked, they came into this world and naked, they would depart! There was also a Hebrew youth named Gideon, who defeated the large army of Midianite oppressors, which men of war dominated the centre of Palestine in their millions with only 300 at God's command, out of the initial 32.000 men, he initially amassed for war! (Judges. Chapters 6-7). In today's modern world, Israel stands out as a World Power Block, in its own right, militarily, industrially, and economically through righteous/diligent national institutions! Roundabout the geographical land scape of modern Israel, are the ruins of all nations that at one time or the other had waged war against the small but divinely powerful nation of the 21st Century!

Since the ungodly introduction of MONEY POLITICS into the Electoral system in Nigeria, millions of unpatriotic Nigerians now openly canvass that the nation, (in spite of all strategic economic innovations being meticulously shored up to increase revenue and ease the burden of cost inflation on the citizenry), should back-pedal into the era of national corruption that characterised past administrations! Some very aggressive, modern and ungodly Nigerians like the biblical PHILISTINES and MIDIANITES, have consistently and in large numbers boldly asserted that the Jonathan Administration was better than the present Change Government because a "status quo" of institutional corruption was more acceptable than an era of economic recession and hardship! Money politics was not limited to the Executive and Legislature but was also extended by politicians to the Judiciary which WAS regarded as the last hope of the common man because since the latest accusation of large-scale corruption against members of the revered Bench, the entire population of fraudulent Nigerians have defended the judges' integrity and chorused that they were innocent and untouchable in spite of the avalanche of physical, material and incriminating evidences amassed by the Department of State Security (DSS), for their prosecution in court!

On 4th May 2014, in our No. 38th Edition of the Zion B-BC NEWSLETTER, we published the following excerpts under the title: "CORRUPTION IN THE JUDICIACY! WHERE REST THE LAST HOPE OF THE COMMON MAN"? Please read: "Three quarters of Nigerian prisoners are AWAITING TRIAL DETAINEES, most of whom have spent over 15 years in detention! Comptroller General of the Nigerian Prison Service [NPS], in a shocking revelation, recently said, “….of 50,601 inmates in the various prisons, 36,934, are awaiting trial. Majority of the detainees, not including those held in the various Police cells across Nigeria and who have been refused bail, are charged with capital offences, such as armed robbery and many have since died incarcerated! “The slow process of trial of inmates by the courts is also responsible for more than 90 per cent of prison population in urban centres.” These awaiting-trial detainees are the poor masses of our societies, as no rich man or woman ever waits for any trial since favourable and pre-determined judgments are courier-delivered to their homes, in some cases, by crooked judges! The Rule of Law specifies that  every suspect is presumed innocent until found guilty by a competent court of jurisdiction, but what obtains in Nigeria’s prison system is “the RUSE of LAW”, where suspects, with the deliberate connivance of the COURTS are refused bail or prosecution, and are condemned to dungeons and early graves! "Judicial powers of the Nigerian State, both at the Federal and State levels, are vested in the JUDICATURE, which consist of the superior courts of record, established for the Federation, according to Section 6, subsection (5) (a) to (i) of the 1999 Constitution. These consist of the following: the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the court of Appeal, the Federal High Court, the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, a High Court of a State, the Sharia Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, a Sharia Court of Appeal of a State, the Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and a Customary Court of Appeal of a State. According to an insider, a retired President of the Court of Appeal, the Nigerian Judiciary harbours corrupt elements who are politicians and government apologists who attend all manner of social gatherings and frolic even with litigants with pending cases before their courts! How can judges decide cases against their political parties and people they wine and dine with?
"As a guest speaker at a recent lecture titled, “Nigeria at Centenary: A Nation In Bondage”, the retired President of the Court of Appeal said that the noble efforts of the incumbent Chief Justice of Nigeria, to sanitize and rid the judiciary of corrupt elements were being frustrated by “the crop of people calling the shots at the Nigerian Judicial Council [NJC],” adding that some dishonourable people, “not fit to be judges and senior lawyers, get into the system, make it to the highest level of the judicial career and subsequently frustrate the common man’s quest for justice and equity!” He also claimed that it was an open truth that, both serving and retired judges act as the “arrangees” or couriers, who reach out to “purchase justice on behalf of crooked litigants” and concluded that the problems with the Nigerian Judiciary might be compounded or unresolved for a long time because Nigerians naturally hate the truth and whoever dared voice the truth was marked for destruction! "We salute the courage of this fearless retired President of the Court of Appeal whose entire professional career at both the Bar and the Bench, remained untainted and impeccable like the likes of Justices Chukwudi Oputa, Bobakayode Eso, Ayo G.Irikefe, John Idowu Conrad Taylor,  Ovie Whiskey, Chiefs ‘Tunji Braithwaite and Gani  Fawehinmi etc; because what we have today are judges who have made Nigeria’s justice system by itself very criminal.

“ The story was told of Late Justice John Idowu Conrad Taylor, a Chief Judge of Lagos State during the military administration, who turned down his Governor’s official invitation to a State Dinner on the following grounds:  “ Lagos State Government has several pending cases before me……I find it inappropriate to honour the invitation”. At his demise, Military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon eulogised him for his sterling qualities. Do such Nigerian judges exist in today’s 21st century universe?
The Federal Government should be more pro-active in funding the EFCC to pursue to its logical conclusion, all vital allegations of graft against these judges and publicly bring them to justice in order to purge and cleanse the judiciary, restore her reputation and establish a deterrent to others of their ilk! "Of the late Supreme Court Judge, Bobakayode Eso, (1925-2012), were the following WORDS ON MARBLE crafted: “He was an Icon even in death; Nigeria may never have his replacement – a very rare breed. Justice Eso was an untainted Judge with high integrity; one of the great Nigerians, incorruptible, academic, intelligent, serious-minded patriotic, scandal-free. A courageous judge and a consistent advocate for an independent judiciary whose long and exemplary life was dedicated to the service of law and order and the dispensation of true justice, equity and fairness to all.” We need more of the Eso’s, Conrad Taylors, Gani Fawehinmi’s, Oputas in our modern judiciary to re-build and restore the lost confidence of the COMMON MAN in Nigeria’s judicial system. We have a crop of patriotic legal minds, men and women of proven integrity who are ready to serve our great nation without soiling their hands and names! Will the corrupt politicians at the helm of affairs give them the opportunity to serve their Fatherland? Let Nigerians be assured that if they fail to make the necessary RESTITUTION now, GOD WILL REMOVE AND REPLACE THEM ACCORDING TO HIS SOVEREIGN WILL! AMEN." (End of excerpts).  Because the Change Administration expressed its distaste for a corrupt Judiciary, Nigerians who were averred to perverting the cause of justice ferociously condemned the DSS Sting Operation, which exposed seven allegedly corrupt Judges and from whose homes operatives also allegedly recovered, about N93 million in both local and foreign currencies which would be tendered at their trial which should commence soon! NJC had always favoured past indicted judges to retire with full benefits and enjoy their illicit gains unmolested, but that must not happen this time around!

THE LONE VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS, RETIRED JUDGE OF THE APPEAL COURT, JUSTICE AYO SALAMI, HAS BEEN VINDICATED! The NJC is the enemy within the Third Arm of Government! They have no choice than to follow due process by asking the accused judges to step aside and face prosecution! NJC must be purged for righteous persons to take over and dispense justice against erring judges appropriately when necessary!    GOD HAS A COVENANT OF RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT WITH THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA AND PRESIDENT BUHARI WHO HAD BEEN DIVINELY CHOSEN FOR THE ANTI-CORUPTION CRUSADE WOULD SUCCEED LIKE DAVID AND GIDEON IN SPITE OF ALL ENEMY INTIMIDATIONS! AMEN.
