NIGERIA WILL OVERCOME POVERTY WHEN SENATE IS SHUT DOWN!

Is Nigeria poor? What manner of poverty is the nation suffering from? What is the nature of the poverty? What is, or who are the causes of the poverty?
In July 2018 when the UN Common Country Analysis (CCA), through “a progression chart” applied by World Poverty Clock (WPC), adjudged Nigeria was the “poverty capital of the world”, there was indignation, uproar and commotion among the various stakeholders of the Nigerian economy which disagreed with the rating and called for the heads of those responsible for the outrageous and most despicable report!

Our 258th Edition of 22 July, 2018 was devoted to counter the “obnoxious report” which We condemned in all ramifications! Below are some excerpts of the publication:

“THE OBNOXIOUS UNITED NATIONS REPORT PRESUMPTIONS ARE UNTENABLE!
In spite of the fact that Nigeria has one of the highest economic growth rates in the world, it was adjudged in the year 2016, in a United Nations (UN), report tagged, Common Country Analysis, (CCA), as the one of the poorest countries in terms of per capita income!
In the year 2017, it was reported that poverty- stricken Nigerians depended mostly on REMITTANCES from the Diaspora as economic crisis bit harder in the first quarter; and now in 2018 second quarter, Nigeria, according to " World Poverty Clock", WPC, June, 2018, Nigeria had about 87 million people living in poverty as against India's 73 million! Before the turn of the 21st Century, China and India, the two most populous countries in the world hosted the poorest of the poor globally but the former which Nigeria is emulating, had transformed into a very viable economic nation, second only to the United States! According to the unacceptable universal projections, Nigeria and the Republic of Congo, "now share" the last two positions at the bottom of the ladder of poorest nations, but we strongly belief that the efforts of the current administration in erasing that notion through its determined and unrelenting efforts through diversification to land cultivation and exploration of god-given mineral resources, in the past THREE AND A HALF YEARS, were not considered in that report! Currently, there is a deliberate effort of transferring wealth to farmers, other land cultivators and the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMSE's), who have taken advantage of government-assisted bank support through the CBN, BOI, and the African Development Bank, soft loans, which were alien to those sectors in the past! In addition, there were aggressive moves by APC governments (Federal and States), to reduce the number of able-bodied un-employment/under-employment of employable adults at all sectors of economic development of the nation through massive employment of technical/university graduates, which will increase to about 500,000 employments before the expiration the second quarter, in spite of the available scarce resources!
The market women, artisans of all grades and vocations, were not excised from the largesse rolled out by President Muhammadu Buhari, who perhaps, has the love of the poor masses of Nigeria at heart and has so exhibited his passion for them so passionately more than anyone else in this century! NIGERIA IS POISED TO BE RANKED AMONG THE 20 MOST ECONOMICALLY-VIABLE NATIONS BY THE YEAR 2020 - WHILE THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs), PROGRESSES TO ITS LOGICAL CONCLUSIONS IN 2030!”

AT THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES, A MATTER IS ESTABLISHED!
In spite of Our strong defence against the United Nation’s claim, incumbent Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan unequivocally told whosoever cared to listen on Thursday, 24th June 2021, having concluded a two-hour closed-door meeting with President Buhari at the State House, Abuja, that “NIGERIA IS A POOR COUNTRY THAT HAS NO OPTION BUT TO BORROW TO FUND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT!
QUESTION: Will the resort to borrowing alleviate or erase poverty? Senator Lawan made a sweeping statement, sidelined all of the opening probing questions without implicating the National Assembly (NASS) of COMPLICITY IN THE CREATION OF THE NIGERIAN KIND OF SELF-INFLICTED POVERTY!
This fresh development got Us very angry, deflated, embarrassed, nonplussed and wondered what spurred the 62-year-old academician to so conclude and whereas it was in the public domain that the Number Three man in the Federal Executive hierarchy and his 468 predator legislators in both Red/Green Chambers, have annually depleted annual budgeting process by cornering for themselves large chunk of annual budgets through selfish demands for exotic vehicles, unconstitutional outrageous allowances outside of annual salaries, in the following categories: monthly working allowances of N3.5 million, plus 15 other allowances gulping from between 10%-400% of their secret basic salaries!
In every annual budget, the National Assembly is allocated the sum of between N115-150 billion, which they still complained was meagre compared to the size of consecutive DEFICIT budgets funded with borrowed monies!

RUNNING NIGERIA AGROUND WITH SENATE RUBBER- STAMPED BORROWED MONIES!
Is it not true that All Progressives Congress (APC), Administration since assumption of duties from 2015 had consistently executed annual deficit budgets with borrowed foreign/local funds to satisfy the whims and caprices of politicians especially the legislators under the guise of funding national development in the areas of critical infrastructure projects in health, education among others? The latest of such clandestine requests was the President’s fresh N2.343 trillion (USD$6,183 billion), external loan from the Senate early June, 2021, which he claimed “was to finance the 2021 budget deficit BUT which would ultimately increase the nation’s indebtedness to USD$ 35.683 billion when eventually rubber stamped!

NIGERIA’S DEBT PROFILE FROM 2015 TO 2020!
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), on Thursday 24th June 2021, confirmed Nigeria’s debt profile at N33.11 trillion to end Quarter 1 of March, 2021!
As of December 2020, the nation’s public debt was N32.9 trillion naira, or USD$86.3 billion dollars according to the Debt Management Office!
BREAKDOWN:
N12.47 trillion or 37.67% [External]; N20.64 trillion or 62.33% [Domestic].
NBS working in concert with the Debt Management Office (DMO) verified and confirmed the figures with the following details that:
Domestic public debt stock of the Federal Government totalled N16.51 trillion during the period under review;
States and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was N4.12trillion;
Lagos State is indebted to the tune of 12.31% of the N4.12 trillion naira domestic debt stock while Jigawa State had the least debt stock at 0.77% of the total debt portfolio according to the data report ending with the first Q1 -31st March, 2021!
Most of these debts were borrowed in the first FOUR years of President Buhari’s Administration via multilateral development, bilateral and commercial loans (Eurobonds and Diaspora bonds).

All borrowings can be stopped when the CHINA INNOVATION is implemented as we suggested in 2017 as reproduced bellow!

President Xi Jinping of China is one Executive who caught world attention in recent times because of the his unusual patriotism and selfless leadership style which forbids him from dwelling in affluence and opulence while millions of his nation's excessive population of over 1 billion people, wallowed in squalor and abject poverty! He has unequivocally, declared that poverty would be totally kicked out of his country by the year 2020 through the consolidation of massive employment in the agricultural, manufacturing and industrial sectors.
This Reformist who believes in the supremacy of strong institutions continued to build on the platforms for the eradication of poverty of previous administrations, which began in 1982, by ensuring that corruption had no place in his administration and also that more attention was paid to all facets of economic life of the nation, through introduction of modern agricultural innovations to ensure food sufficiency and security!
It is on record that over the last 35 years, 800 million people in China have been successfully lifted out of poverty - in 2016 alone, the nation lifted 12.4 million people above poverty line and is determined to lift at least 10 million people out of poverty annually AND STAMP OUT POVERTY PERMANENTLY FROM CHINA BY THE YEAR 2020!”

NIGERIANS SHOULD RESIST ADDICTED/OBSESSIVE BORROWING AS SUGGESTED BY SENATOR AHMAD LAWAN, WHO MUST RETURN TO THE LABOUR MARKET WITH HIS I08 OPPORTUNIST COLLEAGUES FROM 29TH MAY, 2030!

It is now very obvious that this Buhari administration no longer has compassion, neither for the TALAKAWAS nor the UNBORN generations of Nigerians who would be saddled with debt servicing/payments instead of diversifying to agriculture and acquiring new inventions through modern technology for economic sustainability! CORRUPTION has been identified as the Major reason for the high rate of poverty in Nigeria! Who are the corrupt? The less than 2 million of the population in the constitutional Three Arms MUST be cut to size NOW! Nigeria has OPTION to shut the Senate, reduce House of Representative members to 74, to make room for a Parliamentary system of government, and block all financial leakages through ESTACODES! These major step coupled with DEVOLUTION OF POWERS, will do the MIRACLE for a brand new Nigeria!

NIGERIA’S SECURITY ARCHITECTURE IS DIPLOMACY DEFICIENT!

Have the citizens ever wondered why the criminals were always one step ahead of Nigerian security agents; commit each crime with ease and gusto, hit critical/soft targets like professionals, disappear without trace, hide, undetected and forever unprosecuted? (
The answer is not far-fetched – they were always supplied with information with relevant data by personnel of government agencies, politicians – at both executive/legislative levels who disclose secret and confidential information carelessly and undiplomatically in order to gain cheap popularity and applause but inadvertently or deliberately disclose vital security secrets to terrorists, bandits and kidnappers!

Pre-Election POLICE Road Shows and Power display have never deterred electoral malpractices, thuggery, ballot-snatching, torch of Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), strategic facilities or criminal attacks on its personnel! Statistics of personnel deployments at elections which should be kept to chest, were usually reeled out for public consumption and by extension to the CRIMINAL ELEMENTS who also have free access to social media!*Such wasted energies should have been diverted to preventive operations through plain-clothed agents, who would nip all criminal tendencies in the bud before, during and after elections!
Media trials by EFCC and DSS, when investigations were yet to commence or inconclusive had proved to be fatal to prosecution because suspects through their lawyers could challenge or puncture procedural methods to escape justice!
The Military are equally guilty of the same derelictions in the line of duty! They disclosed security information without much thought during Internal Security (IS) Operations, which criminals covet to maneuver and escape arrests or prosecution!
(4)It is very undiplomatic to publicly lament that the nation’s armed forces/police was OVERSTRETCHED when science has provided DRONES, CCTV CAMERAS, SATELLITE IMAGES to tackle insecurity without giving any sense of advantage to criminals!

CAN ISWAP STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES?

The Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), terrorists – which have joined forces with the remnants of a splinter group of Boko Haram CAN NEVER STAND THE FIRE POWER OF NIGERIA’S SECURITY FORCES which have best international training, exposure, experience and expertise far above all its contemporaries in the West African sub region and by extension the whole of the Black African Continent!

The terrorist wars in Nigeria are NOT CONVENTIONAL BUT OF ESPIONAGE/ GUERILLA in nature and scope – which has created intricate challenges of logistics in view of its ubiquitous posture!
BUT a two-star retired Commander of “Operation Safe Haven”, has told the world this week that ISWAP had more sophisticated weapons and international exposure/funding than the Nigerian Armed Forces – a statement which received immediate condemnation from Senator Ali Ndume [Senate Chairman, Army], who was on the same interactive television programme!
The import of the retired General’s statement would have given ISWAP fresh encouragement to employ more guerilla tactics into the war! However, there was a divine intervention which set Boko Haram against their collaborators and resulted in great casualties among them during the same week!

THE INTRANSIGENT WAR OF ATTRITION IN RETROSPECT!

Nigeria’s major security challenge since the year 2009 had been Boko Haram insurgency which metamorphosed into a hydra-headed monster comprising terrorists, bandits, gunmen, Fulani killer herdsmen, kidnappers, rapists etc, and still ravaging the entire landscape with unbridled effrontery in 2021!

AND having more or less “subdued” over 200 million population, hoisted their jihadist caliphate flags to assert authority, resorted to collecting taxes in several occupied local government areas especially in the North East Geo-Political Zone, the dare-devils extended their tentacles to regional neighbors by launching attacks across the Lake Chad, Niger, Cameroon and Chad!

They were fiercely repelled by those nations – most especially – by Chad which late President, Idriss Deby Itno, a veteran soldier, who personally led the theatre of war to decimate the terrorists from the Chadian Territory in an operation code-named “Operation Wrath of Bomo”!

Reports had it that President Deby was furious when Boko Haram dealt the heaviest blow by killing 90 of his soldiers in one fell swoop and led his troops against them from 31st March 2020 – 9th April, 2020, a-ten-day offensive which took place at Kelkoua Bank and Magumeri (a local government in Northern Bornu State), where they destroyed the terrorists bunkers, killed about 1,000 of them, recovered cache of arms, arrested their top commander, and freed some Nigerian soldiers held captive!

President Deby later confirmed in a tweet that “no elements of Boko Haram is present in the Islands of Lake Chad” and in a meeting with the Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MJTF), in Kaiga-Kindjinria of the Lake Chad Region, Nigeria’s Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf, he discussed security deployments on the Islands of Lake Chad.

NOW THAT IDRISS DEBY IS DEAD! (1952-2021).

He assumed office in December 1990 through a coup-de-tat and ruled for 30 years but now that he is dead and Chad has officially disengaged from further military engagements in the Sahel area of the lake Chad Basin, NIGERIA HAS TO UP ITS GAME to bring the Boko Haram affront to victorious end not only in the Northern States but across the geographical zones of the country!

COULD MAJOR GENERAL MUHAMMADU HAVE DONE THE SAME?

Of course but for his age which according to him has created some limitations! “Oh, if only I could have been much younger, like when I was a Military Governor of Borno State, he lamented shortly after he assumed office in 2015?”
“I WISH I WAS PRESIDENT AT A YOUNGER AGE SAYS BUHARI!”
President Buhari said on 15th June, 2015, in Johannesburg, South Africa while meeting with the Nigerian Community in that nation that though he would have wished to be President at a much younger age, he would still give his best shot to move Nigeria forward!

He also said that he was determined to support the downtrodden and take poverty out of the State of Nigeria which has greater potentials than Somalia!

THE PRESIDENT WAS ALSO CULPABLE IN DIPLOMACY DEFICIT AS WE PUBLISHED IN OUR 102nd EDITION OF 26TH JULY, 2015!

“At Seventy-two and a half years of age, President Muhammadu Buhari is comparatively young compared to contemporary astute world leaders, monarchs, heads of states, and politicians who had distinguished themselves in alertness of mind, comprehension, expression, at local, international and diplomatic assignments, considering his frugal life-style and his avowed socialist ideologies/policies, and should therefore perform creditably in view of the enormous task of rebuilding his country, Nigeria from its ashes!

Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe , 91 years; Queen Elizabeth of England 89; Beji Caid Essebsi of Tunisia, 88; Raul Castro of Cuba, 84; Paul Biya of the Cameroons, 82; and Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine, 80, are still bona fide Heads of their various countries and are known to be performing State duties optimally.

“Can we safely conclude that the old-age “syndrome” has caught up with President Buhari or that he is suffering from memory loss, relapse or dysfunction in view of embarrassing gaffes during his recent official visit to the United States of America (USA).
During his “tete-a-tete” with President Barack Obama and other engagements of high-level talks, press conferences and even the meeting with US Nigerians Diaspora Organisation (NDO), the President had challenges of “accidental slips” which turned out to be diplomatically noticeable and very embarrassing!

“President Buhari published an Op-ed ( a personal opinion column), which was detrimental and contrary to diplomatic norm and international best practice in the Washington Post which turned out to be a social mistake and an indictment to his own administration, in which he disclosed his plans to defeat terrorism and the Boko Haram insurgency, including his intention to appoint ministers in September, 2015!
“*All of the above very sensitive and confidential information that should have been treated exclusively as closed-door high-level briefing for the Nigerian capable and efficient anti-crime, anti-graft/security agencies, bureaucrats and technocrats, were all divulged to the hostile outside world first hand, for reasons that are still baffling to the citizenry which was directly affected through the unsavoury, very unpalatable and shameful exposures!”

IT CAN NEVER BE TOO LATE TO CHART THE RIGHT COURSE”

The President should identify the MOLES among his cabinet and security agencies, remove them and appoint righteous citizens to work within the less than two years ahead! He should also be more DIPLOMATIC NOW, HAVING SPENT SIX YEARS IN OFFICE! “A stitch in time saves nine!”

TWO PRESIDENTS NIGERIA NEVER HAD!

[IN COMMEMORATION OF JUNE 12 DEMOCRACY DAY, 2021]

Social analysts always postulate that politics is a game of numbers where majority would have their way and minority, their say! True as the assertion might seem, the reverse obtained in diarchy where strange bed fellows comprising the military and politicians run despotic/feudalistic agendas and are backed by defective constitutions as obtains in Nigeria!
Imagine if the military had allowed democracy to thrive through trial and error, commission and omission, from Independence, the late sage, erudite politician/legal practitioner, Chief Obafemi Awolowo [who through visionary leadership, transformed Western Nigeria into a hub of economic destination, introduced FREE PRIMARY EDUCATION TO ALL RESIDENTS irrespective of their tribe or region; established the first in Africa victory TELEVISION SERVICES, even before the European nation of France debuted the electronic tube etc, etc], would have been VOTED PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA and would have served very creditably!
Imagine if Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, a resourceful/tested, erudite business mogul and billionaire was allowed to claim his mandate at the 1993 Presidential Election and was NOT robbed by the Military junta of General Ibrahim Babangida, he would have become Nigeria’s President in a landslide victory which gave him the upper hand even in the local government area of his opponent, Alhaji Bashir Tofa, who hailed from Kano State!

BUT those thoughts were never to materialize because the continuous/consecutive gun-toting administrations in Black Africa’s most-populous nation has relegated the country to the bottom of the ladder in all international perception indexes – corruption, insecurity, poverty, infrastructural deficiency/decay in education, health facilities, social welfare and the economy at large BECAUSE TRUTH was truncated for FALSEHOOD!

Apart from the dwindling foreign exchange earnings from oil and gas, Nigeria cannot boast of any substantive internally generated revenues from other sources because agriculture which was the nation’s financial mainstay was gradually abandoned by consecutive military governments due to “easy oil money” source readily available for imported foreign goods from virtually every country of the world!
AND BECAUSE the minority northern oligarchy in government believed they should remain in power at the Federal level forever therefore ganged up to truncate the JUNE 12, 1993 Presidential Election which marked a watershed in the annals of Nigeria's political history!

A day when all Nigerians on that date in 1993, voted overwhelmingly for the Southerner among two Muslim presidential candidates of North/South political divide, in an election supervised by the Military Government of General Ibrahim Babangida and adjudged to be one of the freest, fairest, credible and peaceful ever held in Nigeria!
Though that election was annulled by the military junta, 28 years ago (1993-2021), the annual commemoration of that memorable event had never ceased to be held by political pressure groups - especially in the South West, where the acclaimed winner, late business mogul, Chief Moshood Abiola hailed from!

In that epoch election, all Nigerians agreed in one accord to vote for both candidates without the sentiments of religion that none of the candidates was a Christian in an unprecedented patriotism of the national conscience and in the doctrine of ONE NIGERIA!

June 12 which overcame ethnic, tribal, cultural, traditional barriers and diversities, has proved beyond all reasonable doubts that positive national ideologies have more impact among the citizens of this modern civilization than the mere geographical amalgamation of Nigeria's Northern/Southern Protectorates of 1914, which only aimed to expand the business empire of the colonial masters who governed with veto powers.
But has the Spirit of June 12 died in almost all the ethnicities/tribes who now opt for the break-up of our dearly-beloved indivisible, indissoluble, naturally and resourcefully-endowed country of over 250 tribe/ethnic groups and about 500 diverse languages?

MILITARY INCURSION TO NIGERIAN POLITICS WAS ABERRATION!

The military as security organ of government that defends the country from external aggression WAS NOT IN MAJORITY and subject to civil authorities according to Chapter I, Section I (2) of the 1963 Republican Constitution which forbids “……the governance or the control of the Government of Nigeria or any part thereof, except in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution”, BUT with brazen effrontery and defiance to the said document, staged a coup-de-tat and took over government by force on 15 July, 1966, as the very first group of persons in Africa to carry out such dastard act to get mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records!

Since that unfortunate incident the MINORITY has always had both its SAY AND WAY in every administration in Nigeria!

FACTS AND FIGURES.

Although Northern Nigeria always claimed larger population according to census demographic data, it has always been faulted by the South which alleged that COWS AND SHANTY HUTS were included in the figures always computed by successive Federal Governments mostly headed by NORTHERNERS!
The Prime Minister at Independence in 1960 was a Northerner supported by a figure-head “President” from the South!
In May 1962, the first post-independence census organized by the Federal Government began amidst fears by Southern politicians who were apprehensive of a repetition of past manipulation by the North and were poised to put an end to their dubious dominance of the Nigerian political space! Advocacy and massive mobilization through the media – print, radio/electronic and distribution of pamphlets were employed to sensitize the people but at the “end of the exercise”, final results were not made public because the North was very desperate to maintain a false status quo!
In 1963, a new census was held, and another in 1973 which produced alarming figures that were disputed and nullified! In 1992 General Ibrahim Babangida conducted another census which result in March 1992 was officially put at about 89 million people! In 2006, another census was conducted and the result was put at 140 million, more than 50% of the 1992 figure because more figures accrued to the North in the new exercise! The National Bureau of Statistics website is replete with all census data from independence!

In an historic recognition of late Chief MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 cancelled election, President Muhammadu Buhari on June 6, 2018, awarded to him posthumously the highest honor of the land, Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR). On that date, the President also assented to a Bill amending May 29 previously set aside as public holiday to be replaced by June 12 as the new Democracy Day.
President Buhari’s gesture including the change of Abuja National Stadium to Moshood Abiola Stadium will remain an indelible, magnanimous/exemplary act of statesmanship and an unusual gesture from a sitting President to rectify an issue which had polarized Nigerians for 28 years!

JUNE 12, 2021 PROTESTS ACROSS NIGERIA!

There were street protests across Nigeria by aggrieved people who were tired of the Buhari Administration and wished that he should quit if he was bereft of solutions.

We thank God there were no human casualties because We have counseled them to KEEP OFF THE STREETS but preserve their YOUTHFUL ENERGIES till 2023 and take over the government with their VOTES!
THE NORTHERN MINORITY IN SEAT OF POWER HAVE CONTINUOUSLY EMPLOYED DUBIOUS CENSUS DATA AS SMOKESCREEN TO REMAIN IN OFFICE AT THE CENTRE!
Data collected by census determine the number of seats each State has in the House of Representatives and also used to adjust or redraw electoral districts/constituencies based on where populations have either increased or decreased with a view to assist in revenue allocation, including employee appointments into the civil service ministries, departments and parastatal by Federal Government which has prerogative of the Exclusive Legislative List (of 68 items), which virtually determines the LIVELIHOOD STATUS of the entire population of Nigerians!

Nigeria’s 2020 population is estimated at 206,139,589 people at mid-year according to United Nations (UN) data. Nigeria population is equivalent to 2.64% of the total world population and ranks number seven (7), in the list of countries (and dependencies), by population.

The 2006 census data which placed Nigeria’s population at 140 million people was most recent and was plagued by political interference from design through to implementation but in 2020, census was estimated at 206 million people.

The PDP Government of Dr. Ebele Jonathan could not conduct any census according to lack of funds neither has the current administration of President Buhari! The VEIL of deceit in respect of greater population of the North has been torn to shreds because all high density and commercial are located -south of Rivers Niger and Benue – with their population increasing by the hour! [PROPHETIC REVELATIONS AGAINST THE NIGERIAN PRESIDENT!]

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, He hath also rejected thee from being king.” [1 Samuel. 15:23.KJV.]
In the month of May 2021, the LORD, commanded, President Muhammadu Buhari, through this medium, twice [Editions 404th and 406th of 9th and 23rd respectively], to declare a “National Day of Fasting and Prayers” before the month ran out, so that God might forgive the all sins, heal the land of Nigeria of insecurity and stop incessant bloodshed!

The President was informed that his predecessor in office, Dr. Ebele Jonathan, refused a similar instruction in 2014 and that his inaction was responsible for the calamitous state of insecurity traversing the entire nation from that time till date! He was advised to CHOOSE THE NINEVEH option according to the Book of Jonah. 3:1-10, and give Nigeria a second chance for divine redemption BUT like Jonathan [who is now his special envoy to Mali], he has also failed woefully AND the LORD has said that he would pay dearly for his effrontery against Him!

THUS SAYEST THE LORD TO MUHAMMADU BUHARI:
When you were frustrated after your third attempt to don the title of democratic president, I your Father, encouraged you to make one more attempt and gave you the throne against all odds!
I stood by you in spite of your weakness, incapability, frailty, indisposition, health deficit …. and the least I expect of you was to follow my instructions through My appointed Prophet in Zion.
I your LORD has overlooked past errors of commission and omission and your inadvertent sins BUT this deliberate disobedience WILL I NOT FORGIVE!
From henceforth, I have rent the kingdom of Nigeria from you and have given it to your neighbor whom you have so despised but who is far better than you!
You will remain a mere figure head and all your surrogates/kitchen cabinet members will disobey and flout your weightless “executive orders”!
I am not blind to massive corruption of the past SIX years under your watch which has increased crimes, criminalities, and bloodshed all over the land. I will require the blood of all the innocent from your hand!
I have withdrawn MY immunity from you and you will continue to suffer several bouts of sickness henceforth, you will travel to foreign lands to seek help but you will get none! HOWEVER, YOU WILL NOT DIE IN OFFICE!
All your cohorts will receive punishments according to the gravity of involvement in the looting/robbery of the NATIONAL TREASURY for their selfish ends and aggrandizement!
I will definitely NOT spare anyone found culpable in your administration, your family/friends or among members of your ruling party in order to save MY country and MY children whose BLOOD cries to me daily from the earth!!

THE ANGER AND WRATH OF THE LORD WAS KINDLED AT MIDNIGHT OF 31ST MAY 2021, WHEN PRESIDENT BUHARI FAILED TO HONOR THE LORD’S COMMAND!

On Tuesday 1st June, 2021, the President threatened South East Igbos’ who spearheaded the 30-month-old Biafra war from 1966-1970 following reports of attacks on state institutions and personnel in the South East and South-South regions of Nigeria and categorically stated that his government would deal with the violent secessionists in the language they understood.“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months who went through the war will treat them in the language they understand!” The President totally forgot the declaration of “NO VICTOR, NO VANQUISHED! The statement was an incitement and self indictment; and coming from the number one citizen, was very abnormal because it was incensed through the influence of an “evil spirit” from the pit of HELL! The President’s vituperation was the consequence of his earlier disobedience to the LORD’S command, but many did not know the cause! King Saul was regularly possessed by an evil spirit for disobedience to divine commandments!
From Wednesday 2nd June, 2021, and throughout the first week, killings by Fulani killer herders and more attacks on strategic state installation continued and its was reported that not less than 300 people were slaughtered across the nation, from North to South!
On Thursday 3th June, 2021, Tweeter – an American micro-blogging and social networking service - deleted President Buhari’s post which it considered violated its “abusive behavior” policy just as American ex President Donald Trump did during the heat of the 2020 tussle for the White House!
On Friday, 4th June, 2021, President Buhari ordered an indefinite suspension of Twitter without giving much thought to the consequence of its action which also violated the citizens’ human rights of association and expression! And from that date and on daily basis the President and his Minister of Information have had the worst nightmare of their live considering the barrage of condemnation through the same Twitter platform which they claimed to have “banned”!
THINGS ARE FALLING APART AND THE CENTRE CAN NO LONGER HOLD! The President’s very controversial statement still trended and gathered an avalanche of very unpleasant comments on all social media, including electronic and print as anger flowed freely from every direction shortly before this publication went to bed! QUESTIONS: (a) Should military mentality hold sway against citizens’ fundamental rights to whom constitutional sovereignty belonged in a democratic setting as being witnessed in Nigeria? (b)Was it a wonder then that if the President could flout the Grundnorm (Constitution), that bounds him to the people who are visible flesh and blood with impunity, would he care if he disobeyed God, Who is Spirit?
BUT GOD IS SUPREME! GOD told Prophet Moses to “speak to the rock” to bring forth WATER, but he chose to “hit the rock with his staff” because he was “provoked by the people” and the LORD prevented him from entering the promise land that flowed with milk and honey in spite of the unique affinity between him and God!
UNIVERSAL LAW OF CAUSE AND EFFECT! The principles of “Cause and Effect” and of “Change” are identical, authentic, sacrosanct and foolproof in that both have never and will never fail to occur as long as the Omniscient GOD controls the affairs of men! (a)The law of cause and effect states that “Every effect has a specific and predictable cause”; just like the trending hate speech against the Igbos’ which President Buhari has linked to the unfortunate Biafra Civil War, which began 6th July 1967 and ended 15th January 1970, (51 years ago).Every cause or action has a specific and predictable effect – BUT THE CAUSE ALWAYS PRECEDES THE EFFECT! (b)Change IS CONSTANT: The late Stephen Covey was quoted by Wallace in 2014, as saying: “There were three ‘Constants in life, Change, Choice and Principles’. Change remains CONSTANT through choice and principles!!

“I HATE THE IGBOS’ WITH PASSION” – DID BUHARI SAY THAT?
When President Buhari came on board in 2015, he accused South Easterners for failing to vote for him at the polls and gloated that those who gave him 97 per cent would get more dividends than the Igbos who gave only 3%; but later back-pedaled when Our Editorial Board and all well-meaning Nigerians criticized his resolve and reminded him of the Constitutional Doctrine of Equal Share of the dividends of democracy!

He then said, “By the Constitution, no State can be excluded from government, so there is no way even if I want to show gratitude to those constituencies that voted for me and those that did’nt even vote for me, they have the protection of government.

“And I have made an undertaking that, ‘I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody’. If I come clear and show and marginalize a certain group because they didn’t vote for me, then I have already contradicted myself. And I am sure people will be quick to pick that.”
Character will either make or mar a person! He is formulated, modulated by conscience to create a conducive platform for leadership qualities. Good character is innate, in-born and manifests early in life especially when nurtured through good parentage or mentorship!

Crafty legislators for the umpteenth time have introduced review of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, severally condemned as a faulty document produced by the military shortly before the new democratic experiment, as the antidote to general insecurity and solution to the massive agitation for RESTRUCTURING of the nation’s political structure!

The SENATE began a two-day jamboree tagged “Constitution Review” in two States each of the Six Geo-Political Zones from 25th-26th May, 2021, to collect memoranda from the people in respect of choice restructuring; while the House of Representatives will follow suit in early June 2021!

These set of opportunistic, inhuman, insensitive, incompetent, heartless, self-centered, nepotistic and very myopic impostors [several of whom have held sway in the National Assembly (NASS), since 1999 to date], decided without approval from their various constituencies to panel-beat the obtrusive martial laws through which they have amassed stupendous wealth instead of initiating the process for a brand NEW UNICAMERAL PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUTION that would serve the yearnings and aspirations of the down-trodden! How do they intend to get a different result by initiating the same process every time?

From the 5th through to the 9th NASS, - Constitutional Reviews had been initiated without positive results in spite of the billions of naira expended for the fruitless exercises! The review of 2014 by 7th NASS which contained about 42 items, was summarily rejected by ex-President Jonathan who refused his assent!

Now that the legislators would soon embark on a long annual “SUMMER HOLIDAY” from the month of June 2021, definitely loads of crisp Naira currency notes should come in handy!

“WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA….” DESERVE BETTER DEAL FROM THESE IMPOSTORS FRONTING AS REPRESENTATIVES!

If the elders are suffering from AMNESIA, shouldn’t the VIBRANT #End SARS #End Police Brutality Youths organize a peaceful #END LEGISLATORS BARE-FACED ROBBERY OF THE TREASURY; who falsify truth and proffer falsehood to very serious national issues of CORRUPTION/INSECURITY?

QUESTIONS:

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PRODUCE A CREDIBLE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION? Maximum ruler, General Sanni Abacha, died suddenly on 8th June 1998 and was succeeded by General Abdussalam Abubakar, who produced a military constitution within a year and handed over to some very agitated politicians who eventually detected all pitfalls, irregularities and loopholes since 1999, but kept mute because the adulterated/illegal document was their passport to become “stinkingly rich”! President Buhari and the Executive working with a credible CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY, should produce one in18 Months!
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SCRAP THE NIGERIAN SENATE? The clamour for a UNICAMERAL LEGISLATURE devoid of the upper chambers is very imperative at this challenging period when the Covid-19 pandemic has adversely depleted the nation’s economy so that all financial accruals to those senators and other glaring wastages in both the Executive and Judiciary running into trillions of naira annually, would be ploughed to boost internally-generated revenues through diversification to agriculture and harnessing the natural extractive minerals, notably, GAS & GOLD that attract high dividends in foreign earnings.
WAS IT NOT HIGH TIME GENERAL MUHAMMADU BUHARI REDEEMED HIS DIMINISHING IMAGE BY SPEARHEADING THE SCRAPPING OF THE SENATE TODAY? The President does not need to wait until 2023 to call for a POPULAR REFERENDUM as we had suggested several times because he will have the support of all Nigerians to REMOVE THOSE BAD EGGS that are bent on complete ruin of Nigeria’s economy through aggrandizement once and for all! Nigerians are tired of 109 SENATE PREDATORS who are reaping where they did not sow! The 360-member crowd of the House of Representatives should also be reduced to 74!

SHUTTING UP NIGERIA’S SENATE IS NOT A BIG DEAL!

PRESIDENT BUHARI should follow the example of his SENEGALESE counterpart, President Macky Sall, who on 19th September, 2012, with the support of patriotic legislators scrapped its Senate and saved USD$15million dollars which was ploughed to improve SENEGAL’S economy!

WHEN NIGERIANS OPPOSED AND CONDEMNED APPROPRIATION OF N37 BILLION NAIRA TO RENOVATE THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY COMPLEX IN YEAR 2020, IN SPITE OF THE EFFECTS OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON THE ECONOMY, THE CORRUPT SENATORS REDUCED THE AMOUNT TO N27 BILLION AND THE PRESIDENT KEPT MUTE, HABA!!!

PLEASE FIND BELOW SOME OF THE GLARING FLAWS OF THE UNITARY 1999 MILITARY CONSTITUTION WHICH WE HAVE PREVIOUSLY CIRCULATED IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN!

It is common knowledge that military organizational charts are vertically-integrated in a unitary format, so the 1999 Constitution handed over to the Nigerian people at their disengagement from partisan politics on 29th May, 1999 was devoid of contributions from NGOs, CSOs, the Labor Sector or the impute of a National Conference, Plebiscite or even a Referendum!
Greater powers are vested to the centre i.e. the Presidency, more that the Federating States through the 68 items on the Exclusive Legislative List;

All lands in the country were grabbed in the military fashion through the obnoxious LAND USE ACT, thereby depriving the citizens of decent/adequate accommodations and farm lands that could serve as collaterals for banking transactions;

The social contracts which include rights to potable water, food security/sufficiency, access roads, arable lands for massive agricultural diversification of the economy, employment opportunities, national living wages, pension facilities to the aged and retired workers etc, are mere window dressing;

The entire Constitution was written in the masculine gender to marginalize the women who have greater statistics in the national population of about 200 million people and the pronoun, "he" is regarded as UNISEX;

Other notable flaws can be found in State Creation process/procedure; Electoral organizers are expected to be members of political parties; the Judiciary and Ministry of Finance where professional and political offices are merged into one office to create more confusion; lack of a defined autonomous status of Local governments; ambiguous fiscal and revenue-sharing formula between Federal and State governments etc, many of these confusions have been re-defined at the apex court with very little reprieve!

THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER CONFLICTS IN THE 1999 CONSTITUTION THAT ARE FAR MORE THAN THOSE LISTED ABOVE AND CANNOT FIND SPACE IN THIS TREATISE!

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS WERE EFFORTS IN FUTILITY SINCE 1999!
The National Assembly on assumption of office 1999 discovered these ambiguities, inadequacies, irregularities/shortcomings/lacunas which should have prompted quick intervention during the 4th and 5th Assemblies of ex-President Obasanjo's tenure, but delayed the evil day which has eventually reared its ugly head in the form of demands for diverse kinds of RESTRUCTURING, like DEVOLUTION OF POWER from the CENTRE to federating States, RESOURCE CONTROL by Crude Oil producing States, reversal to REGIONAL system of the 1960s and even - SECESSION!

The faulty military document created the stampede of new breed of mercenary "do-or-die" politicians between 1999 and 2019, and the desperados were quick to jump ship from one Party to another as long as they would gain relevance in the band wagon of money-monger gangs and no remarkable achievement was recorded in the direction of drafting/crafting a new Constitution! In fact, the last exercise of the un-amendable jig-saw puzzles in the 1999 Constitution during ex-President Jonathan's administration was thrown into the garbage bin because of selfish desires of the legislators to whittle down and eventually USURP EXECUTIVE AND PRESIDENTIAL POWERS!

THE URGENT COMMISSIONING OF A CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY BY APC IS IMPERATIVE!

The duty of a Constituent Assembly (CA), to be composed by representatives from the SIX GEO-POLITICAL ZONES CONSTITUENCIES will be to DELIBERATE upon a Draft Constitution to be produced by bona fide Constitution Review Committee (CRC), made up of TRUE, LEGITIMATE, PEOPLE OF NIGERIA from all walks of life – artisans, CSO's, NGO's, university youths/students, the ivory tower scholars, technocrats, professionals, industrialists, captains of industries, lawyers, judges, the aged, motor drivers, market women, traders, farmers, the physically disadvantaged, the rich and the poor, etc; from all the 774 Local Government Areas of the federation, and then PAINSTAKINGLY SIFTED AND THOROUGHLY VETTED by the Executive for passage through a POPULAR REFERENDUM!

It is written," When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."(Prov 29:2 KJV)

To all Nigerians who have been down-trodden by their fellow citizens in the last 22 years, we of this Editorial Board wish to intimate you with the encouraging and sacrosanct Word of the Living God which states as follows:

In Genesis .50:20-21; Joseph spoke the following soothing words to his brethren: “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

“Now therefore fear ye not; I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly to them.”

In the Book of Proverbs.12:21; “There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief;” and in 2 Corinthians.4:17-18; “For our light affliction, which but for a moment, worketh for a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

“While we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

But listen to our Father who says, “VENGEANCE IS MINE AND, I WILL REVENGE! You should be like Joseph who left his brethren in the hands of GOD for necessary justice, because no sinner can go unpunished!

Nigeria is an Anglophone country having been colonized by Britain and still having strong diplomatic/economic/security ties with that great nation but because it enjoys a foreign policy of NON-ALIGNMENT, the nation is free to choose its friends and associates at pleasure and without let or hindrance!

However, when it comes to France, colonial head of the francophone countries especially in sub-Sahara West Africa, the Nigerian Government should have treaded cautiously because France has not proved to be a strong or supportive ally to its past colonies since it has lost its World Power status and have now become the number one Soft Power nation of the world!

SUMMIT ON THE FINANCING OF AFRICAN ECONOMIES, PARIS!

The May 17th-20th, 2021 hosting of the Summit by France was a way of shoring up relevance among the comity of nations. France needed not organise any summit to highlight the unprecedented economic crisis caused in Africa through Covid-19 Pandemic which was world-wide phenomenon and which equally devastated the host country.

France’s Covid-19 statistics at 5.92 million total cases; 361K, recovered; and deaths, 108K; updated as at 21st May, 2021, are far above individual statistics of African State which the host intended to assist with “NEW DEAL” of investment plan to overcome effects of the pandemic!
Summit agreed to work towards getting rich nations to relocate USD$100 billion or £81 billion pounds, International Monetary Fund’s (IMF), special drawing rights monetary reserves to African States by OCTOBER 2021!IMF Representative at the meeting confirmed that the organization would issue USD$33 billion dollars for the African Continent this year as foreign tool to finance imports!
Host President Emmanuel Macron supported the idea that Africa should massively produce vaccines for its own population via technology transfers to lift intellectual property barriers.

BUHARI ASKED FOR DEBT RELIEF AND ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL RESOURCES AT THE SUMMIT!

President Buhari who should have stayed home to resolve trending insecurity issues, requested for RESTRUCTURING of Africa’s Debt portfolio on behalf of other African nation as full relief to tackle effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic – the same IMF Relief which he rejected in October 2020!
He also requested the French Government “with its influence in European Union to lend its voice to the efforts for additional resources for developing economies in Africa!”

FRANCE’S MAIN OCCUPATION SINCE WORLD WAR II!

Whereas, France’s present main occupation devolves around attracting international attention through hosting of World Conferences on Climate Change, musical/theatrical concerts, all manner of economic summits etc, etc but most importantly embracing IMMIGRANTS, REFUGEES AND ASYLUM SEEKERS from Algeria, Morocco,. Italy, Afghanistan, Albania, Asian origin, African origin, etc, who blend into the workforce (badly needed by France), and eventually enjoy citizenship in the long run!

Although France still enjoys a permanent seat with veto power at the United Nations Security Council, it can no longer claim same influence with the other four; United States, China, Russia and the United Kingdom, who were allies during the World Wars

FRANCE INFLUENCE IN WEST AFRICA HAS WANED!

Eight Francophone countries that form the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), are: Senegal, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Togo, Niger, Mali, and Benin which were bonded to the French Communaute Francaise d’Afrique (CFA), franc for about 75 years only regained real economic independence one year ago when France’s Council of Ministers officially passed a bill that ratified the reform of the monetary agreement that tied them to the colonial apron’s string!

In those harrowing years, they were compelled to centralize; to deposit, their foreign exchange reserves in the Banque de France, which is the French Treasury, but will now control their reserves with the new “Eco” Currency within the Central Bank of West African States!

Since World War II in 1945, the French economy had been a shadow of itself and with a weak currency – enjoying life-support from the Euro from its inception in 1st January, 1999, France could not defend those territories even when their territorial integrity was threatened!

THE FRENCH ARMY FAILED IN CHAD, MALI, BURKINA FASO, NIGER, MAURITANIA ETC!

France had been variously accused of collusion with the Islamic jihadists which invaded West Africa as it failed to dislodge them from Mali, and having lost 13 soldiers in an helicopter collision in an operation, made room for the al-Qaeda terrorists to have full reign in Niger where they attacked an army base and killed more than 70 soldiers!

PRESIDENT BUHARI PREFERRED FRANCE SUMMIT TO ADDRESSING INSECURITY POSED THROUGH OPEN CATTLE GRAZING IN NIGERIA!

In spite of the poetic-philosophical lyrics of both the Nigerian National Anthem and the Pledge which elucidate the morality codes of faithfulness, loyalty and honesty through which patriotic service of the citizen is encouraged, political jobbers within the corridors of power in the Buhari’s Administration, chose to launder the contentious doctrine for a North-South dichotomy!

Everyone has turned out to be the mouthpiece of a President who only speaks to his subjects from foreign countries when attending unfruitful summits!

In a bid to permanently resolve the incessant farmers/herders clashes which resultant casualties climbed unprecedented dimension across the nation, all Southern Governors, irrespective of party affiliation, resolved to totally ban open grazing by adopting the cattle-ranching option which was applauded by the patriotic citizenry!

However, Senate President Ahmed Lawan and Minister of Justice/Attorney-General, Abubakar Malami, were quick to dwell in the primordial of the Southern/Northern dichotomy like the uneducated of the 21st Century, who totally forgot that the fake “monolithic Northern Nigeria of Hausa/Fulani caste no longer existed”!

While the former suggested that Southern Governors should “first restructure their States instead of restricting movement of their cows”, the latter, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria [SAN], compared “the rampaging armed Fulani killer herders with Igbo Spare parts Dealers who are legitimately domicile across the nation and peacefully contributing their quota to improving the dwindling economy”; scenarios that have no correlation with COMMON SENSE!

And whereas, the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), the Northern Governors Forum, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, (who offered land areas for ranching/rural grazing area, for all Northern States hamstrung with land facilities), and now most importantly – the Myyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), which had been in opposition by claiming ancestral grazing routes, has now agreed with the Southern Governors to comply with the new ORDER!

PRESIDENT BUHARI HAS KEPT MUTE THOUGH HE OWNS RANCHES IN DAURA, KATSINA STATE!

Until he travelled on official duty to France, the President failed to address the contentious issue that “armed foreign Fulani killer herdsmen” and their local collaborators, were responsible for the escalation of farms destruction and mass murder of farmers and farm dwellers across the nation! He also failed to agree or disagree with the Southern Governors – including those elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress, (APC), and thereby gave room to charlatans/bootlickers to speak disunity into the system contrary to the lyrics of the second stanza of the new national anthem which states as follows:

“Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth and truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.”
In the old national anthem, the lyrics of the last FOUR lines contained similar prayers:
“Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed
And so with peace and plenty Nigeria may be blessed.”

There was nowhere in both anthems that ethnicity, racial/religious bigotry, tribalism, nepotism, segregation, separation, dismemberment, secession, dichotomy etc, etc,was preached!
Were those meddlesome interlopers taught in school that the MERGER/UNIFICATION/BONDING of the Southern and Northern Protectorates of Nigeria, was perfected under the watch and supervision of the British Colonial Governor General in 1914, and has not been reversed?

NIGERIANS WILL PATIENTLY WAIT FOR PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI TO ADDRESS THE NATION ON THIS VERY SENSITIVE ISSUE AND ALSO DECLARE “A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYERS FOR REPENTANCE FROM ALL SINS OF BLOODSHED AND FOR SPIRITUAL CLEANSING OF NIGERIA FROM EVIL SPIRITS” BEFORE MONDAY 31ST MAY, 2021, ACCORDING TO OUR EARLIER PUBLICATION OF THE B-BC NEWSLETTER 404TH EDITION DATED 9TH MAY, 2021 TO AVOID FURTHER CALAMITIES FROM BEFALLING THIS GREAT NATION!

Although it has taken forever for most Nigerian politicians to realize the enormous health hazards/security challenges posed through open cattle grazing until terrorist hijacked the offensive and archaic system to perpetrate mayhem on the entire populace!

As of this 21st Century, the once peaceful nomadic Fulani herders have turned out to be very unfriendly, angry, vicious, aggressive, and blood thirsty! They have exchanged their herder sticks with AK 47 Rifles and armed to the teeth with machetes, knives including other very dangerous weapons of mass destruction for deadly strikes on innocent herders, their families and several unfortunate dwellers domicile in urban and remote communities!

WHO ARE THE FULANI AND WHY HAVE THEY SUDDENLY BECOME SO AGGRESSIVE?

Although their origin is obscure but linked to Mauritania, due to their similarities in appearance, existence of a Fulfude-speaking minority there and the possibility of a North-Western origin of Fulani migration.
From the 14th Century, this largest pastoralist group in Africa, spread from Senegal into over 20 countries in West Africa, including Guinea, Gambia and Sudan.
The Fulani are traditionally a nomadic, pastoralist, trading people who herd cattle, goats and sheep across the vast dry hinterlands of their domain, keeping somewhat separate from the local agricultural population.

Many scholars believe that the Fulani are of the Judaeco-Syrian origin, but it is generally recognized that the Fulani descended from nomads of both North and Sub-Sahara Africa. They also came from the Middle East and North Africa and settled into Central and West Africa, Senegal, Ghana Nigeria etc. It is said that in Nigeria, the Fulani also known as Fulbe, Puel or Fula brought Islam by force to the pagan/animist Hausa states centuries ago through various wars or JIHADS in order to install Islamic leadership.

ALARM WAS RAISED OF A NOMAD FULANI MILITANT BASE IN BENUE STATE!

Eight years ago in 2014 during ex-president Ebele Jonathan’s Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], Administration, We published a timely warning in respect of an impending invasion of Nigeria by armed Fulani who sinisterly clustered in North Central Benue State where they executed brigandage and also planned to unleash mayhem to other States of the country! Below are excerpts of our Edition 30 of 9th March, 2014:

“THE NOMAD FULANI ‘MILITANT BASE’ IN BENUE IS A TIME BOMB!
In spite of the move by President, Goodluck Jonathan, to assist Benue State to dislodge armed nomadic Fulani herdsmen who were threatening their peaceful co-existence, they, (nomads), succeeded in attacking and killing several people, mostly Benue farmers, last week!
The nomads’ strategy is to create an assault launch- base in this Central State, from where they could attack in any direction round-about, to Plateau, Nassarawa, Kaduna or even, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. These Fulani are extremely dangerous because, they are always fully armed, itinerant and can easily disappear into bushes and forests without ever being apprehended after any attack, and there is virtually no Nigerian farmer who has not had a ‘deadly’ brush with these nomads in any part of the federation!

The Fulani herdsmen/ farmers clashes over grazing rights in Nigeria, has always been a bone of contention between the two parties from time immemorial. In some cases, amicable solutions were proffered, while others, resulted in bloody clashes with fatalities!

A renewed and sustained assault of these herdsmen with Tiv farmers in Adeke Village, a suburb of Makurdi, erupted late 2013 and spread with impunity to Kaduna, Plateau, Benue, Bornu, Imo, Enugu, Kwara, Oyo, Ogun, in January 2014! In all, hundreds of human lives, including some soldiers and a Senator’s nephew in Oyo State, were lost; over 200 houses were razed!

We are aware that all security agencies are at ‘red alert’, but the most important and very urgent action is a quick resolution of this grave conflict which poses a time bomb, just waiting to detonate! Though, the right to free grazing routes across Nigeria seems to be the crux of the incessant conflict, it is believed that, some fifth columnists, are supplying arms and ammunition to the herdsmen in order to make the Nigerian State ungovernable for their selfish political gains through these itinerant ‘foot combatants’!

We must not forget that the Fulani nomads are mere custodians and serfs to the millionaire owners of these cattle, goats and sheep.
Second, we must also be wary that if cautious steps are not urgently employed, insurgents may infiltrate their ranks to penetrate other parts of the nation! There are also Fulani cattle rustlers, mercenaries who would work for the highest bidder! With the right incentive, they had invaded well-stocked cattle ranches, maimed and killed watchmen and guards, carted away stolen cattle to their principals for disposal in the black market!

We are aware that there is a Bill in respect of the need for approved grazing routes before the House of Representatives which deserves urgent attention to avoid further violent clashes between these two groups which play vital roles in our agrarian and livestock economy.

A Nigerian gun-runner was last week arrested in Gombe, en-route Plateau, to deliver the third consignment of a saloon car-load of AK 47 Rifles and ammunitions, to an undisclosed destination in the State........”
In our own way of contribution to nation building, we published another Newsletter, Edition 143, dated 8th May, 2016, titled: “RAMPAGING FULANI HERDSMEN CANNOT TURN BACK THE HANDS OF THE CLOCK”, in which We advocated the urgent need to address the insecurity posed by the wild pastoralists and harness our diversity to serve as bond for strength!

NOW THAT 17 SOUTHERN GOVERNORS HAVE FULLY IDENTIFIED THE DANGERS OF OPEN GRAZING AND DECIDED ON A CONCERTED BAN!

In a bi-partisan approach which threw overboard party politics and affiliation, 17 Southern Governors made up of All Progressives Congress [APC], at a meeting in Asaba, Delta State, on Tuesday 11th May, 2021, reviewed the current insecurity situation of the nation including agitations for restructuring, inter-state collaboration/partnerships as well as the continuous incidence of Covid-19 pandemic.

In an 11-point communiqué, the forum, among other things affirmed commitment to the unity of Nigeria on the basis of justice, fairness, equity, oneness, and peaceful co-existence with a focus on the attainment of shared goals for economic development and prosperity.
The forum observed the incursion of armed herders, criminals and bandits into the Southern part of the country which has presented a severe challenge such that citizens were unable to live normal lives, nor pursue various productive activities which led to threat to food supply and general security.
Consequently the forum resolved that open grazing of cattle be banned across Southern Nigeria….including cattle movement by foot and recommended that Federal Government should support WILLING States to develop alternative and modern livestock management systems!

They also agreed that the [progress of the nation requires that urgent and bold steps be taken to restructure the Nigerian Federation leading to the evolution of State Police, review of Revenue Allocation Formula in favor of the sun-national governments and creation of other institutions which legitimately advance collective advancement to and practice of true federalism.

The forum recommended Federal Government should convoke a National Dialogue as a matter of urgency to and urge the President should address Nigerians on the various challenges of insecurity and restore the confidence of the citizens.

PROHIBITION OF OPEN GRAZING BY INDIVIDUAL STATES HAD NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN THE PAST AS THEY WERE ALWAYS OPPOSED BY MACBAN!

In the Southern States of Ekiti / Ondo and the North Central State of Benue where anti-grazing law was enacted between 2015-2021, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria [MACBAN], resisted frustrated, truncated official efforts and continued to intimidate the governments with subtle support from their Fulani helmsmen at the federal level!

It is now a different ball game because all APC and PDP Governors are solidly united to get the cows out of the SOUTH if they cannot RANCH OR RUGA them as done in other climes!

ONE MORE RIVER TO CROSS THROUGH POPULAR REFERENDUM!

The Federal Government MUST be forced to meet all demands not only by governors alone but by all well-meaning Nigerians through the portal of a POPULAR REFERENDUM which Governor El Rufai Committee on RESTRUCTURING recommended in its Report which had been submitted to General Buhari since 2018 because these present crop of legislators who are on their way out would definitely foot drag although they should because a large number of them in the House of Representatives are very much disposed to the initiative! The President and citizens can also initiate referendums!

QUESTION: What is Referendum? A general vote by the electorate on a single political decision which has been referred to them for a direct decision.
How does it work? Voting in a Referendum is similar to casting a vote in the Federal election – the key difference is what voters are required to write on their Referendum ballot paper. In a Referendum, voters are required to write either “Yes” or “No” in the box opposite each question on the ballot paper.

Why is Referendum important? It allows citizens, through the petition process to refer acts of the Legislature to the ballot before they become law. The Referendum also permits the Legislature itself to refer proposed legislation to the electorate for approval or rejection.
What makes a Referendum successful? An overwhelming support by all stakeholders as a united front in ensuring succour for the masses and for popular opinion to hold sway!
Is a Referendum legally binding? Referendums are not legally binding, so legally the Government can ignore their results: for example, even if the result of a pre-legislative referendum were a majority of “No” for a proposed law, Parliament could pass it anyway, because Parliament in some democracies is sovereign.

BUT in Nigeria, SOVEREIGNTY BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE , and as such Referendum would DEFINITELY SAIL THROUGH WHEN PUT TO TEST! Nigerians are disgusted with the unresolved issues of restructuring and insecurity! ‘‘Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.’’ (Gal 6:7)

BUHARI MUST CHOOSE NINEVEH NOW AND WRITE HIS NAME IN GOLD!

In the turbulent year before the 2015 Nigerian General Elections when insurgency/terrorism escalated in a frenzied dimension just as is being experienced presently, the then incumbent President, Dr. Ebele Jonathan, was instructed through the authority of the Holy Ghost to proclaim a national day of fasting and prayers for the entire population to cry, make supplications and entreat the Almighty God to intervene in the precarious affairs of the nation in order to avert total anarchy!

Ex- President Jonathan did not make an official pronouncement but sponsored various prayer services organised by Christians/Muslims across the six-geo political zones and was visibly present at a Holy Ghost Camp Meeting along the Lagos-Ibadan Express Way in 2014!

If only Jonathan had obeyed the commandment of the LORD, Nigeria would not have deteriorated to the present stage of a fearsome insecurity which threatens the lives and property of law-abiding citizens who feel unsafe inside their homes, on the highways, in remote villages or the urban cities under a government which could not ensure their safety and welfare as stipulated in the 1999 Constitution!

ANCIENT NINEVEH WAS THE LAST CAPITAL CITY OF ASSYRIA, NOW MODERN IRAQ.

In its time of temporal prosperity, Nineveh, the oldest and most-populous city of the ancient Assyrian empire, was a centre of crime and wickedness!
It was an urban city [more than 4,000 years ago], but characterised with corruption, cruelty, blood shedding, robbery, ravenous appetite for wickedness against its citizens (LIKE NIGERIA), that the LORD had to raise a Prophet named JONAH to “cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me”. Below is the biblical record of the response of the King of Nineveh, who ordered his subjects to fast, pray and make the beasts also do same so that the LORD could be compassionate on his people!
And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord.
And Jonah… cried and said, yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
For, word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn everyone from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger that we perish not?
And God saw their works that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.”

THUS SAITH THE LORD:

And for you my children Abubakar Shekau and Mohammed Yusuf. It’s time to sheath your swords, I am willing to forgive, if you obey me. Nigeria is MINE! She shall remain united! I the LORD have spoken! AMEN.”

PRESIDENT BUHARI MUST URGENTLY DO WHAT JONATHAN FAILED TO DO!

Nigeria needs to be totally cleansed of all sins of Idolatry, adultery, fornication, incest, religious bigotry, murders, arsons, slavery, abductions, corruption, treasury looting etc.!

Ex-President Jonathan failed to heed the LORD’S command and everybody including himself is now worse for it because all the hues, cries and lamentations over the unacceptable “animal farm” plight of the great nation of Nigeria was orchestrated through the politicians greed, avarice, and self-centeredness attitude of diverting social welfare funds into their private pockets at every opportunity of political offices or appointments!

Imagine if the Military adopted the parliamentary system of government which they truncated in 1966 as at the time they handed over to politicians in 1999; and the politicians were RIGHTEOUS to interpret the sacred document according to the law;
Imagine if no politician/civil servant tinkered with the annual budgets through padding which include but not limited to, re-writing, re-inventing, deleting original items/figures and inserting fresh ones for the purposes of aggrandizement and not “oversight”;
Imagine if all approved funds for education, health, roads construction, electricity, agriculture, national housing projects, etc. were diligently deployed through due process for the execution of all necessary projects across the nation;
Imagine if all children of school age were duly acquiring education and there were no 13million roaming the streets;
Imagine if all able-bodied and employable adults are duly employed and earning living wages; and the SECURITY OPERATIVES of the Armed Forces, Police and other Para-military agencies are well remunerated and their allowances paid as at when due;
Imagine if latest Information Communication Technology (ICT), gadgets and equipments – especially CCTV Cameras, Drones and Satellite Imagery, were professionally deployed to expose and combat all manner of crimes especially terrorism, banditry, gun attacks, kidnapping etc, whether they are committed in remote or urban locations;
Imagine if all Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMSES), are adequately funded for greater economic output, industrial growth for higher internally generated revenues (IGRs); etc, etc, etc, AS OF TODAY, NIGERIA WILL BE AT PEACE BECAUSE EVERY ADULT WOULD CHERISH HIS/HER FAMILY AND NO ONE WILL OPT FOR CRIMES OR CRIMINALITIES AS BEING WITNESSED IN THE POLITY!

PRESIDENT BUHARI SHOULD DECLARE A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYERS BEFORE THE END OF MAY 2021! OR IS IT TOO LATE FOR NIGERIA?

A rational assessment of the insurmountable act of incendiaries and bloodshed across Nigeria may be pointing to only one direction that Nigeria could be on the precipice of collapsing into a FAILED STATE if urgent, decisive and workable solutions were not proffered to fix all agitations and grievances!

The current spate of atrocities that have consumed both security operatives and the hapless citizens of this great nation is no longer respecter of any persons as the situation has created a scenario of “everyman for himself and GOD for us all!”

However, We have respite in the narrative of the Book of Ecclesiastes that: “There is nothing new under the Sun. All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eyes never has enough of seeing nor the ear its fill of hearing. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again!” As long as the present specie of irrepressible Man remains on planet Earth, times, seasons and events would continue to evolve again and again until the Dispensation of Accountability/Judgement which will usher absolute RIGHTEOUSNESS to Humanity!

THERE WAS WORLD WAR I, WORLD WAR II, ALL MANNER OF UNIVERSAL PLAGUES, OUTRAGEOUS FLOODING DESCRIBED AS TSUNAMI OF THE FAR EAST, DEVASTATING STORMS/TORNADOES ACROSS THE AMERICAS IN PAST YEARS, WILD FIRES IN NORTH CALIFORNIA, AUSTRALIA, AND NOW, THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC OF THE 21ST CENTURY WHICH IS KILLING HUMANS IN THEIR THOUSAND OF THOUSANDS IN 202 COUNTRIES ACCORDING TO THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION; [WHO], AND YET THE INHUMANITY OF MAN AGAINST HIS FELLOW MAN BECAUSE OF OBSESSIVE “LOVE/GREED FOR MONEY” HAS NOT ABATED!

QUESTIONS: CASE STUDY – NIGERIA!

Why did soldiers stage double coups SIX years after attainment of independence in 1960 and sent the politicians packing?

Why did soldiers remain in power for almost 30 years as they succeeded themselves in coups and counter coups-de-tat?

Why were politicians always at each others’ throat at elections and some Presidents declare the war of “do-or-die” because their parties MUST WIN at all costs in desperate bid for CONTINUITY?

Why have terrorism, banditry, kidnapping etc, become a very thriving money-making business which now provides for the players to re-coup their arsenal with more deadly weapons to prolong the war!

PRESIDENT BUHARI MUST PROVE HE IS STILL IN CHARGE!

The seriously traumatized President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major General Muhammadu Buhari who is being bombarded with multiple accusations/condemnations from all citizens and even party faithful over the inappropriate and horrible dimension which insecurity of lives and property has devastated the polity in the last 12 months has vowed to take drastic/profound measures to end the unsavoury stigma at all cost!
In an on-going crucial meeting with all stake holders, especially his war theatre commanders, all possible options within the shores, sub-Saharan Africa Region Countries of Chad, Niger, Cameroun, and international interventions from the US Germany and UK, including the engagement of foreign mercenaries are all being considered – especially now that the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), released a gory, frightening/damning report on escalating violent killings and kidnappings across the nation!

The report released at the weekend stated that 4,556 persons were violently killed and 2,860 were kidnapped in 2020 alone in Nigeria while the Kaduna State Government said bandits operating in the State, killed a total of 323 residents and kidnapped 949 others in the last three months [February-April, 2021]!

In what is similar to a War Situation Room, the President’s meeting with his Security Chiefs will resume Tuesday 4th, May 2021, to consider other proposals by the Commander-In-Chief which include:

Appeal to the United States Government to relocate headquarters of US Africa Command [AFRICOM], from Germany to the African Continent to provide more and direct responses to ongoing violence and insurgencies throughout the region – especially in Nigeria where recent clashes with armed rebels combined with efforts to push back the Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram is still ongoing.
Increasing funding to the Defence Ministry for the acquisition of modern artilleries to further equip the armed forces in order to successfully conclude the 12-year-old internecine war!
Cohesive efforts to collect all arms/artilleries, 12 Super Tucano A surveillance and attack planes, helicopter gunships among other weapons etc. already claimed to have been purchased with the approved US$1bilion dollars by the Senate in 2018, from the Excess Crude Oil Account to fight the insurgency war to its conclusion! The money was to cover a whole array of needs which included purchase of military equipments, training for military personnel and logistics.
Engagement of foreign mercenaries [soldiers of fortune], as it was purportedly done in 2015 by ex-president Ebele Jonathan before the March presidential elections of that year, to engage the terrorists and their collaborators and completely defeat them once and for all!

WHAT JONATHAN TOLD VOICE OF AMERICA IN 2015!

Ex-President Jonathan confirmed the presence of foreign military personnel in Nigeria but disclosed that they were contracted as technicians, brought in to for maintenance and instruction; while some government officials said they were only advisers who accompanied military equipment purchased from South Africa, Russia and Ukraine!
But Nigerian soldiers disputed government’s story and told VOA that many of the hundreds of foreign soldiers were military contractors who were participating in actual combat!

An army corporal based in Maiduguri military barracks disclosed the white soldiers were the experts who could operate the MOBILE ROCKET LAUNCHERS adding that South African pilots had been flying combat missions, aerial attacks with Nigeria jets, surveillance planes and helicopters.
It was further confirmed that the white mercenaries operated armoured personnel carriers, mine sweepers and open-backed troop transport trucks, during the periods before the 2015 General Elections and that their involvement actually destabilized the terrorists for elections to take place in the North East war zone!

From its eruption in 2009, the Boko Haram insurgency took the form of guerrilla warfare which government treated with kid gloves and now a monster that can no longer be tamed; therefore: THE FOLLOWING CONCRETE DECISIONS MUST BE TAKEN WHEN PRESIDENT BUHARI RE-CONVENES THE HIGH-LEVEL SECURITY MEETING WITH HIS SERVICE CHIEFS ON TUESDAY, 4TH MAY, 2021, IN ABUJA!
An urgent convocation of the COUNCIL OF STATES composed of the: President (Chairman);Vice President (Deputy Chairman); All former Presidents of the Federation and all former Heads of the Government of the Federation; All former Chief Justices of Nigeria; President of the Senate; Speaker of the House of Representatives; All the Governors of the States of the Federation; and Attorney General of the Federation; to URGENTLY advise the President on the precarious state of the nation which MUST not be allowed to degenerate any further and urge him to take the following steps to douse the horrible tension through initiation of a REFERENDUM FROM THE EXECUTIVE LEVEL!
Establishment of STATE POLICE in the 36 States of the Federation which will be complimented by the existing vigilante squads and for necessary legislations to be put in place not to allow Governors misuse them for other purposes order than security and welfare of their citizens!
IMMEDIATE ADOPTION OF THE FOLLOWING LAUDABLE BENEFITS OF TRUE FEDERALISM AS CONTAINED IN APC's GOLDEN DOCUMENT IS GATHERING DUST IN THE PRESIDENT DRAWERS IN THE LAST THREE YEARS AS PUBLISHED IN OUR 389TH EDITION OF 24TH JANUARY, 2021, BY THE COUNCIL OF STATES, TO DOUSE THE TENSION!

“The Governor El Rufai-led All Progressives Congress [APC], Committee on True Federalism, submitted its very detailed report on Thursday 25th January, 2018, on the following planks:
Devolution of powers to the States through Resource Control.
State Police and State Prisons to be run by all States of the Federation in respect of certain crimes.
Independent candidacy which can only be enjoyed if such candidate was not a member of any political party, six months prior to any election.
There should exist constitutional autonomy for the 774 Local Governments, which should be free to legislate freely and create any number of councils as they so desired.
Food, Drugs and poison to be moved to the Concurrent List so that States could constitutionally legislate on those items, while narcotics/psychotropic substances should remain on the Exclusive List.
Labour issues, trade unions, industrial relations, conditions, safety/welfare, disputes/minimum wages/ industrial arbitration, should be handled by both States/Federal Governments who should enjoy independent legislation.
Mines and minerals, oil fields and mining, geological surveys and natural gas that are ONSHORE will be vested in all States of the Federation, while all OFF-SHORE OIL shall remain vested in the government of the federation.
Registration of Business Names should be on the Concurrent List for companies to choose their areas of operations; State or nationwide.
Collection of Stamp Duties was also recommended to be moved to the Concurrent List, for the States to collect duties from individual and small businesses while Federal Government collects duties from Limited Liabilities Companies.
Issue of Citizenship, Local Government or State of Origin, which had hitherto been discriminatory, "should be replaced with State of Residence", through a proposed amendment to the Federal Character Commission Act to allow people domicile in a place to be considered as INDIGENES of such place.”The Council of State should realize that desperate situations demand desperate measures! This period does not call for debates for pros, cons ayes and nays but 100% support for the masses of the this great nation!
