ATIKU'S "MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING - OR SOMETHING STINKING?"

Birds of a feather are better qualified to exposed the rot of corruption in the system especially when frustrated and completely shut out!

Former Vice President of Nigeria (1999-2007), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is lamenting bitterly in respect of USD$3.3bn "Crude for Cash Loan Deal" brokered between NNPCL and Afriexim Bank since August 2023! In a very detailed query made public on his verified X handle (formerly Twitter), on Thursday 25th January 2024, the 77-year-old politician who finally lost his appeal against 'Bola Tinubu's choice as Nigeria's 16th President at the Supreme Court, declared that the entire deal was suspect and a humongous fraud!

Below are some excerpts from Atiku's lamentation as published on the SOCIAL MEDIA, LEADERSHIP AND THE CABLE:

NNPCL Deal: Repaying $3.3bn Loan With $12bn Crude Oil By Tinubu Gov’t Puzzling — Atiku

 Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has described as ‘confounding’ a $3.3 billion emergency crude repayment loan secured by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and facilitated by African Export-Import Bank (Afrieximbank) in 2022.

LEADERSHIP reports that the landmark loan deal was sealed in the wake of the free fall of the local currency (Naira) against the United States Dollar and according to the NNPCL at the time, it was to help give support to the Naira and stabilise the Foreign Exchange market. Atiku claimed that the $3.3billion loan, with an interest rate of not more than 12%, will be repaid with the nation’s crude oil worth $12billion, hence the President Bola Tinubu administration owes Nigerians an explanation.

He also queried why the Federal Government would register a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the deal in the Bahamas, a country notorious for being a safe haven for illicit funds.

Atiku, therefore, demanded answers to the five posers on behalf of ordinary Nigerians.

The former VP wrote: “In what appears to be a landmark economic decision of the Bola Tinubu-led administration, the Federal Government last year, precisely on August 16, 2023 through the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) secured a $3.3 billion emergency crude repayment loan, which according to the NNPC, was to help give support to the Naira and stabilize the Foreign Exchange market.

“The curious thing about this transaction is that up till now, the Federal Government continues to keep mum about it, and the only information available to the public on the mega deal is coming only through unofficial sources from the NNPC.

“According to information available, a Special Purpose Vehicle called Project Gazelle Funding Limited is driving the deal, and it was incorporated in the Bahamas.

“The SPV is the borrower while the NNPC is the sponsor, with an agreement to pay with crude oil to the SPV in order to liquidate the loan at an interest rate that is a little over 12 per cent.

“What is even more confounding about this deal is why the Federal Government would register a company in the Bahamas, knowing full well the recent scandal of the Paradise Papers that involved that country.

“Curiously also, Nigeria’s current Barrels Produced Daily (BPD) is 1.38 million, and according to the Project Gazelle deal, Nigeria is to supply 90,000 Barrels of its daily production, starting from 2024 till it is up to 164.25 million barrels for the repayment of the loan.

“Now, this is where the details get disturbing because Nigeria’s benchmark for the sale of crude per barrel in 2024 is $77.96. A simple multiplication of that figure by 164.25 will give us a whooping $12bn.

“It is on this note that we are calling on the Federal Government to speak up on this shady deal.

1) “Has the Federal Government accessed the loan?

2) “ Is the loan in the government’s borrowing plan as approved by the National Assembly?

3) “ Who are the parties to the loan, and what specific roles are they expected to play?

4) “ What are the conditions to the loan, including tenor, repayment terms, the collateral, and the interest rate?

5) “ And, lastly, why register an SPV in the Bahamas knowing the recent scandal of the country’s notoriety for warehousing unclean assets?”

AND PRONTO, ATIKU'S LAMENTATION WAS DISMISSED WITH A WAVE OF THE HAND BY THE RULING PARTY'S ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC), WHICH IS CURRENTLY IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF THE CORRUPTION SAGA!

You’re late to the party’ — Tinubu’s aide replies Atiku on $3.3bn NNPC loan.

Olusegun Dada, special assistant to President Bola Tinubu on social media, says Atiku Abubakar, a former vice-president, “fumbled the numbers” on the $3.3 billion emergency loan deal. On Thursday, Abubakar, who was the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) asked the federal government to shed more light on the transaction.

Although the NNPC had published details of the loan in a recent document, titled, ‘Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – Project Gazelle’, the politician questioned why Project Gazelle Funding Limited — a special purpose vehicle (SPV) driving the deal — was incorporated in the Bahamas, a region he described as “a haven for financial secrecy”.

Responding in a post on X, Dada said Abubakar is “late to the party, as usual”, stating that the presidency had explained the deal to Nigerians.

“Project Gazzelle is such a straightforward deal that I do not expect Alhaji Atiku, who prides his whole political aspirations on being an economic reformer, to fumble the simple numbers behind it,” Dada posted.

“For record purposes and to save Alhaji from his self-imposed mystery, here are some explanations to his questions about the conditionalities of the loan in a simpler language.

“The facility is a forward sales agreement between NNPC limited and an SPV (the buyer) where a predetermined number of barrels of oil is sold in advance at an agreed price.

“⁠The sales allow the seller (NNPCLtd in this case) to use the received payment to solve critical and urgent problems with forex scarcity as the problem in Nigeria’s case.

“⁠A lower benchmark is usually adopted as a safe haven for the buyer (the SPV) as oil price tends to remain unstable most times.

“⁠For repayment, an eventual increase in oil prices will result in the SPV returning all excesses to the seller (NNPC Ltd) while the risk which could lead to a rearrangement of the terms is a significant decrease in the agreed price (this case $65 per barrel).

“Oil has been averaging $70-75 per barrel since the deal was agreed, and if things stay the same way, Nigeria will be getting refunds of excess amounts from the SPV once the payment is concluded.”

Dada said there is a big chance that the repayment will be concluded before the agreed time if oil prices continue to increase “as NNPCL had penned a 90,000 barrel per day which will eventually be calculated at the current prices”.

According to the presidential aide, repayment stops when “the agreed amount plus interest is fully paid and Nigeria may be liable to refunds were there to be excesses.”

Dada expressed hope that Abubakar “will allow the financial expert in charge of the country to continue devising innovative ways of funding our expenditures”.

And whereas his Party the People's Democratic Party (PDP), could not function as credible opposition since 2015-2023 because it lacked credibility!

During its inglorious tenure of 16 years, 1999-2025, Nigeria was adjudged virtually year-on-year, through international  socio-economic perception indexes as the most-corrupt/bankrupt, poverty-striken/capital, criminally-infested etc, etc, in the world!

IS THIS NOT A CLEAR SCENARIO OF DIGNITY AMONG THIEVES WHO ALL STINK?

THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS is poised to be in government for 16 years just as the PDP. But the past 8 years and 7 months of the APC have been the continuation of UNABATED ROBBERY OF THE CITIZENS' COMMONWEALTH AND THIS IS NO LONGER  ACCEPTABLE .

IT IS THEREFORE INCUMBENT ON THEM TO WHOM THE  SOVEREIGNTY BELONGS TO DEMAND FOR A POPULAR REFERENDUM AND END THIS MADNESS ONCE AND FOR ALL THROUGH INTRODUCTION OF A  UNICAMERAL PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY!

IT IS UNPROFESSIONAL FOR NIGERIA SECURITY FORCES TO EXHIBIT  WEAPONRY TO TERRORISTS!

It has become an acceptable norm/ practice among security forces in Nigeria to always parade men, officers and weaponry in a "show of force" with a view to convince citizens that they could always protect them in times of insecurity, civil unrest or crisis! Much publicity was given by the armed forces to the purchase of 12 Tucano Jets from the United States with USD$500 million dollars envisaged to combat Boko Haram terrorism, and banditry between 2021- 2023, but how many of the jets are left in the hangar now?

Rag-tag bandits have consistently claimed that they have been largely responsible for the crashes of 18 Nigerian Air Force aircrafts in Eight Years between 2016-2023!

According to Dataphyte, Nigeria lost NAF aircrafts worth USD$135.13 million dollars to crashes in six years!

DISCLOSURE OF SECURITY INFORMATION TO FIFTH COLUMNISTS IS THE CAUSE OF NATIONAL ECONOMIC FAILURES AND ABJECT POVERTY IN NIGERIA!

No country in the world can ever survive in socio-economic activities while insecurity thrives unabated! In a 21st century world where technology is deployed to eliminate terrorists or fifth columnists and counter both internal/external aggressions, the Nigerian uniformed personnel would match with full complement of their arsenal on the highways while bandits perpetrate havocs in the hinterlands!

Since the year 2009 Nigeria had been engaged in an unconventional war with the Islamic group Boko Haram which consecutive administrations dismissed as rag-tag army!

These groups have now metamorphosed into horrible monsters that are now recognized and classified as bandits, terrorists, kidnappers, gunmen, assassins - who "rightfully domicile un-governed spaces/areas which the "MANCHO" Nigerian Security Forces could not penetrate!

National Security Advisers/Security Chiefs in the past 14 years should all cover their faces in shame because they have no inclination of the terrible damage inflicted on the psyche of innocent Nigerians through their cluelessness in respect of security matters.

Farmers who could not pay taxes to the bandits did not live to tell their stories - they were all slaughtered like animals! Among the so-termed rag-tag insurgent groups are retired/dismissed angry security personnel who have joined to exploit the situation and get their pound-of-flesh!

ATTACK ON THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT) SHOULD NOT BE TREATED WITH KID GLOVES LIKE OTHER TIMES!

In the year 2011 when the then Inspector General of Police Hafiz Ringim assumed office, he flippantly "off the cuff" said:" The days of Boko Haram are numbered. We will flush them out in no time", his entourage was breached, infiltrated by suicide bombers who attacked the LOUIS EDET'S FORCE HQ. ABUJA and almost succeeded in bringing down the entire edifice!

In 2014, the FCT was virtually under seige!

Several Churches were bombed in the satellite settlements with the worst hit, the densely populated NYANYAN MARKET which was bombed twice within 14 days!

The UNITED NATIONS BUILDING in Abuja was also bombed in that year, courtesy of retired/sacked/dismissed security personnel who master-minded those horrendous operations which took, hundreds of innocent lives into untimely graves!

Insecurity: IGP inaugurates Special Intervention Squad in FCT.

The IGP said the decision to set up the squad is to ensure that every corner of the FCT remains a haven for its inhabitants.

 The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, on Wednesday, inaugurated a Special Intervention Squad (SIS) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to address the increasing rate of crime in the territory.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Abuja, Mr Egbetokun said the squad was made up of trained, well-equipped and highly mobile police officers.

According to him, the squad possesses the capacity for rapid intervention and effective containment of significant security breaches like those currently threatening the suburb of the FCT.

He said the alarming rise in criminal activities, without equivocation, demanded immediate and resolute action from all.

“This initiative is not just born out of necessity, but out of foresight, diligent planning and commitment to enhancing the already robust security architecture of the FCT.

“The FCT remains a bastion of safety and an example of efficient urban security management and in our pursuit of excellence, we must proactively address even the slightest signs of potential threats.

“We are thus duty-bound to confront all challenges head-on to protect the lives and welfare of our citizens,” the IGP said.

He said the squad was envisioned to include a thousand personnel in each state with officers and men from each tactical unit of the force.

He said the squad would be supplemented by a formidable arsenal of operational assets, including sophisticated arms, drones, and vehicles.

“These assets, some of which are displayed here, are ready for deployment to counteract the security threats.

“This deployment symbolises our unwavering commitment to the safety and security of our people, sending a clear message that criminal elements will find no sanctuary within the FCT, and by extension, Nigeria.

“I wish to reiterate here that this operation is more than a mere response; it is a bold strategy aimed at dismantling the criminal networks entrenched in our communities,” he said.

He said the squad would also engage in community-oriented policing, a testament to the Nigeria Police philosophy that public safety is a collaborative endeavour.

Mr Egbetokun said working hand-in-hand with community leaders, residents and all stakeholders would fortify the already strong bonds between the Police Force and the communities. He said the idea was to ensure that every corner of the FCT remained a haven for its inhabitants.

And from the days of Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo, UNTIL NOW, the Treasury Single Account (TSA), of Nigeria has suffered violence of institutional looting, stealing and bare-faced robbery and only "WE NO GO GREE" anti-corruption CRUSADERS FOR REFERENDUM can stop it by Force!

When "Mr. Integrity", ex-President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office in 2015, masses of the citizens believed that he would be the "Messiah" to save Nigeria from endless corruption, institutional stealing and robbery of the national treasury, judging by his past antecedent of diligence/probity as a military officer!

Unfortunately his two-term tenure turned out to compete violently with that of the late military dictator Sani Abacha whose looted funds are still being repatriated 23 years after his demise!

And in respect of Buhari, billions of local and foreign currencies between 2015-2023 under the guise of CONTRACT AWARDS and annual BUDGET APPROVALS grew wings and disappeared into thin air!

Although no malfeasance was traced to Baba Buhari throughout his 8 years in office directly or indirectly but it was under his watch that all political office holders elected or appointed stole Nigeria blind and looted the Treasury Single Account (TSA), which he instituted from inception to checkmate lootings of money deposits from all revenue-generating Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and the various Federal Government parastatals.

 Also under his watch, thousands of corrupt public office holders, elected/appointed politicians, advisers at both Federal and sub-national levels, laundered illicit monies cornered from phantom contracts and padded budgets in billions of dollars from Nigeria abroad into offshore accounts in a free-for-all manner!

Fillers from President Bola Tinubu's kitchen cabinet indicate that he is very willing to polish his dented image of cluelessness in governance by applying the big stick on appointees suspected or alleged to be involved in malfeasance of any type!

On trial now are Buhari's former Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and Tinubu's current Minister holding the same portfolio, Mrs. Beta Edu, who are being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for allegedly siphoning N37.1bn and N585million respectively into private accounts and pockets!

N37bn Fraud: EFCC Quizzes Ex-Humanitarian Minister Sadiya

Mrs Umar-Farouq was invited by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the Commission is investigating.

 Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday quizzed ex-Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, over an alleged laundering of N37.1 billion

Farouq was still at the office of the EFCC as of 6pm on Monday as she was still being quizzed by interrogators. The ex-minister had shunned previous invitations by the anti-graft agency but later explained that she would honour the invite.

“I remain proud to have served my country as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with every sense of responsibility and will defend my actions, stewardship and programmes during my tenure whenever I am called upon to do so,” she was quoted to have said.

The former Minister had earlier failed to honour the invitation of the anti-graft agency on the alleged laundering of N37.1 billion during her tenure.

She, however, wrote a letter to apologise to the Commission over her failure to honour their invitation. The spokesman of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, had told Channels Television that the former minister wrote to the anti-graft, explaining that she is not disposed for now to appear before the commission.

 BREAKING: EFCC invites Betta Edu over N585m scandal

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has invited the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, to its headquarters located in Jabi, Abuja over an alleged N585m scandal.

The invitation came less than an hour after President Bola Tinubu announced Edu’s suspension from office through the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

An impeccable EFCC source, who confirmed the development to our correspondent, revealed that the anti-graft agency’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, had earlier recommended the suspension of the Minister to the President to pave the way for proper investigation.

The source further noted that the commission swung into action immediately after the President ordered a thorough investigation into the alleged payment of N585.189 million grant meant for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun and Lagos states into a private account.

“We have invited the suspended Minister, Betta Edu. The invitation letter was sent to her immediately after her suspension was announced by the President. We’re are expecting her at the headquarters any moment from now,” the source noted.

It is factual that the current government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his humongous cabinet of vultures, plus the “budget padder”members of the 10th National Assembly Legislatures handling the social economic affairs of the Nigeria are the biblical “ lovers of money” rooted in incurable institutional corruption!

They all clapped, shook hands and hugged when Mr. President signed the 2024 padded NGN 28.5 trillion naira national Budget without scrutiny or query into law on 1st January for the debt-ridden document to meet an annual cycle of January to December of endemic institutional corruption!

And docile Nigerian Youths have been shut up with Fuel Subsidy Palliatives of Free Train Rides and 50% reduction for inter-state commercial bus commuters plus some half “Mudu” of RICE for Christmas and New year! The man Tinubu when he was Lagos State Governor believed in the crude mentality that open bribery through distribution of physical cash to his subjects would blindfold them to becoming sub- servient and easier to manipulate!

His approach to socio-economic issues as an “accountant” was most questionable because bona fide members of the noble profession were very thrift with regards to reckless/unaccountable expenditures in all institutions, government or private! 

WE RECOMMEND THAT HIS EIGHT- TENURE IN LAGOS STATE BE SUBJECTED TO FORENSIC AUDIT IMMEDIATELY!

His acclaimed sagacity and the Midas touch which produced economic gains and prosperity which turned Lagos State into a leading economic destination in West Africa was nothing but a well-rehearsed rhetoric’s by his boot-lickers who would orchestrate any lie from the pit of hell for pecuniary gains!

According to his apologists Lagos State was the 5th largest economy in Africa in 1999 when he became governor! This claim turned out to be FALSE!

They also claimed that the State’s IGR during his two terms rose from NGN14 billion in 1999 to NGN83.02 bn. In 2007; at departure. Figures were found to be FALSE as there was no data to support the dubious claims through the World Bank or the Lagos Bureau of Statistics! However Lagos State currently generate about 56 billion naira per month according to the Nigeria bureau of statistics.

EVERY LIE HAS A TERMINAL DATE!

 The question is why are people who know the truth keep telling lies over and over again that tinubu succeeded as governor 1999 and 2007 and that he multiplied the resources of Lagos to an extraordinary proportion and that he would do the same as president of Nigeria.

 The Editorial Board of Zion BBC Newsletter had continuously punctured that lie from the pit of hell because the truth is that Tinubu who was a total failure in Lagos had always struggled with academic/professional credibility all of his life!

#ENDSARS ORGANIZERS MUST WAKE UP AND COUNTER TINUBU’S DIABOLICAL PLAN TO KEEP THEIR GENERATION IN PERPETUAL SLAVERY!

He has signed the padded N28.7 trillion 2024 appropriation bill into law.

According to the CABLE,

Tinubu signed the 2024 appropriation bill on Monday 1st January 2024 at the presidential villa in Abuja. Speaking after signing the document, the president said the implementation of the budget would be “efficiently pursued and vigorously monitored”.

“All the institutional mechanisms shall be held to account in ensuring diligent implementation,” he said.

“All MDA’s have been directed to take responsibility and provide monthly Budget Performance Reports to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, which in turn shall ensure the veracity of such.

“The Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy shall hold regular reviews with the Economic Management Team and, in addition, I shall Chair periodic Economic Coordination Council meetings.”

The top priorities of the budget are defence and internal security, job creation, macroeconomic stability, improved investment environment, human capital development, poverty reduction, and social security.

The president reiterated his commitment to prioritise the judiciary in his administration.

“Funding the judiciary is a major element in our effort to support a just, rules-based society. Statutory transfer to the Judiciary has been increased from 165 billion naira to 342 billion naira,” he said.

Some of the key estimates are capital expenditure, N10 trillion; recurrent expenditure, N8.8 trillion; debt service, N8.2 trillion, and statutory transfers, N1.7 trillion.

Godswill Akpabio, senate president; Tajudeen Abass, speaker of the house of representatives; Wale Edun, minister of finance and the coordinating minister of the economy, and Abubakar Bagudu, minister of Budget and economic planning, were present during the signing of the budget.

On Saturday, the two arms of the national assembly passed the 2024 appropriation bill and increased its size from N27.5 trillion proposed by Tinubu to N28.7 trillion. The budget size was increased by N1.2 trillion.

The bill was passed for the third reading at the senate after Solomon Olamilekan, chairman of the senate committee on appropriation, presented a report for consideration.

The appropriation bill was also passed for a third reading by the lower legislative chamber after Abubakar Bichi, chairman of the committee on appropriations, presented a report.

TINUBU’S FALIURE IN LAGOS STATE SHOULD NOT BE REPLICATED AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL!

NIGERIANS DEMAND UNICAMERAL PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM THROUGH REFERENDUM NOW!

Citizens expectations from government in any new year are usually focused in the direction of fulfilment of promises made by political leaders to improve on adequate provisions of socio-economic dividends in very secured environment.

But the 24-year-old Presidential System of Government in Nigeria had never met those lofty expectations! 

From Obasanjo to Tinubu, who has now found himself in a dire strait due to inordinate ambition which has resulted in several failed policy decisions in seven months of administration, new years in Nigeria were always calamitous!

New years were always greeted with gruesome murders and mass killings of defenseless citizens across the nation and no one or groups of people had ever been held responsible nor successfully prosecuted and so the carnage continues unabated!

Patriotic citizens do not need lectures in political science to determine that a presidential system of government was most unsuitable for any developing country in any part of the world.

But the Nigerian military adventurists foisted it on selfish and greedy politicians who capitalized on the accursed 1999 Constitution to further plunder the leftover of the common patrimony by the khaki boys who forcibly ruled the country for almost 30 years!

Without adequate security, socio-economic activities would never thrive and security architecture would remain an illusion for as long as school age children in their millions are roaming the streets begging for alms and able-bodied employable young men and women are idle and jobless!

THE PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM IN NIGERIA HAS WOEFULLY FAILED!

Current political leaders need neither Soothsayers nor Prophet’s to announce the truth that Nigeria is failed State by all standards!

The latest Nigeria Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Report according to the PUNCH should be sufficient to confirm the urgency to opt for a Change from PRESIDENTIAL TO UNICAMERAL PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM of government!

“The National Bureau of Statistics disclosed on Wednesday that Nigeria’s headline inflation rate surged to 27.33 per cent in October.

This is a 0.61 percentage point from the 26.72 per cent that was recorded in September.

In its Consumer Price Index (October 2023) that was released on Wednesday, the NBS stated, “In October 2023, the headline inflation rate increased to 27.33 per cent relative to the September 2023 headline inflation rate which was 26.72 per cent.

“Looking at the movement, the October 2023 headline inflation rate showed an increase of 0.61 percentage points when compared to the September 2023 headline inflation rate.”

 Major contributors to the increase in inflation were food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity gas and other fuel, clothing and footwear, transport, and furnishings and household equipment and maintenance.

In its recent forecast for the year, KPMG predicted that Nigeria’s headline inflation may rise to 30 per cent by December 2023 because of fuel subsidy removal, and the unification of the foreign exchange market.

The Headline inflation is the total inflation in an economy which includes commodities like food and energy.

In this piece, PUNCH Online highlights the nation’s headline inflation rates (expressed in percentage) from January to October 2023, on a month-on-month and year-on-year points basis.

Observations

There was an increase in the headline inflation from January to October.

There was an increase in the month-on-month percentage points from February to August, before the drop from August to September and then October.

The highest year-on-year basis was observed in October.

Political office holders in the Three Tiers Have all admitted that the system has taken Nigeria back into the dark ages and those of them who were patriotic to speak out during the 8th and 9th National Assemblies collected signatures of members to move a Bill for REFERENDUM for a switch but it was frustrated by FIFTH COLUMNISTS!

PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM IS TOO COSTLY!

In the build up to the last Presidential elections in Nigeria the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) raised the cost of nomination form to NGN 100 million naira per candidate and all the money bags paid the amount, though citizens in all their various Constituencies wallow in POVERTY!

Below is a brief summary of the presidency according to BRITANICA across the world:

“President, in government, the officer who serves as head of state and sometimes also as chief executive. In countries where the president is chief of state but not of government, the role is largely ceremonial, with few or no political powers. Presidents may be elected directly or indirectly, for a limited or unlimited number of terms. 

In the U.S., the president’s chief duty is to ensure that the laws are faithfully executed, which he does through various executive agencies and with the aid of his cabinet. He also serves as commander in chief of the armed forces, nominates judges to the Supreme Court, and makes treaties with foreign governments (contingent on Senate approval). 

The office of president is used in governments in South and Central America, Africa, and elsewhere. In Western Europe executive power is generally vested in a prime minister and his cabinet, and the president, where the office exists, has few responsibilities (though France is a significant exception).”

Nigeria copied the presidential system from the United States where CORRUPTION is anathema but has deviated from the norms from inception to date!

Tinubu’s Advisers should urge him to begin to READ THE SOCIAL MEDIA BECAUSE THE STORM IS ALREADY BREWING FOR THE DEMAND FOR UNICAMERAL PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT THROUGH POPULAR REFERENDUM!
