DEFAULTERS SHOULD BE BOLD TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCIES OF CRIMES AND TRESPASSES !

It is a common attitude among those who trespass against enacted laws of constituted authorities to resist and even move to evade penalties for such default s according to the rule of law! This habitual culture of social impunity is so commonplace even among the family units where children rebel against parental chastisements consequential to unacceptable youthful exuberances ! It is also common kno wledge that the Almighty God who has supreme and sovereign power to rule over the entire universe of all created beings and elements demands that the higher creation conformed to His testimonies, commandments, precepts, statutes, laws, treatise etc, diligently or face the ultimate judgment of His wrath !

The Holy Bible is replete with a compendium of offences against God and humanity and relevant judgments against offenders/ defaulters during the Old and New Testament periods of the divine dispensations of Man on Earth . Modern Jews for instance cannot deny that their present predicaments in respect of insecurity and instability among the cluster of aggressive Arab neighbours is traceable to the del iberate sins of their forebear s wi th overflowing ancestral curses of ma ny generations ! The history of Israel actual began through their Progenitor, Father Abraham who was very faithful to God and was divinely informed in a vision that his SEEDS would be enslaved by a foreign nation for 400 years after which they would be delivered from their bondage a nd become His Peculiar Treasure above all people of the earth if th ey imbibed the culture of dedicated and devoted obedience but on the contrary, a fearful judgment of terrible consequenc es upon the nation including world-wide dispersion, if they reneged on the covenant ! The fulfilment of the divine vision wa s recorded from the Book of Exodus Chapter 1 to Deuteronomy Chapter 34 in its first part before the advent of the Major and Minor P rophet s of Israel – from Prophets Isaiah to Zechariah who concluded prophecies of the Old Testament Bible Dispensations !

Cain who was the first murderer according to biblical records in Genesis Chapter 4 resisted God’ s enquiry over his he in ous crime by asking if he were his “brother’s keeper” and also complained that his pun ishment as a wanderer (modern fugitive ), was too much for him to bear !

Fuhrer Adolf Hitler , a sworn enemy of the Jews who was accused with the pogrom (mass extermination), of SIX MILLION Jews in the Nazi German Gas Chambers and who was obsessed with becoming the very first world President , ran and hid in a bunker in 1945 towards the end of World War II to escape being captured as a Prisoner of War (PO W) but was forced to commit suicide on 30 April, 1945 when the Allied Forces closed in to destroy the massive bunker which housed him and his closest aides for a few weeks before the final showdown !

Saddam Hussein, the ruthless Iraqi dictator from 1979 to 2003, committed terrible crimes against humanity, including serial murders and assassinations of the opposition among his people and even annexed the sovereign State of Kuwa it to his country at the height of po wer intoxication, but r an in desperat ion into a artificially-dug cave to avoid prosecution for several months after his regime was toppled by Allied Forces led by the United States and Saudi Arabia ! Hussein who was Iraq’s President for 24 years was eventually captured and after his prosecution was sentenced to death by hanging on 30 December, 2006 !

Muammar Gaddafi , who was President of Libya for over 40 years and aspired to become President of Africa in spite of enslaving his subjects for that long, w as eventually toppled and had to hide in a bunker to avoid the unpleasantness of disgrace and punishment ! He was discovered by a very young Army Private who shot him dead at close range on 20 October, 2011, in spite of all the monetary promises to make the combatant very rich and wealthy !

General Idi Amin Dada , Ugandan President and dictator in the seventies ruled his people with the Iron Fist, squandered the meagre economic resources of his country to the extent that the Uganda currency was described to be as worthless as a tissue paper during his macabre reign of terror as “the Butcher of Uganda”, who brutally murdered thousands of innocent citizen s during despotic rule ! When toppled , he sought refuge in Saudi Arabia where he converted to the Muslim Faith and eventually died on 16 August, 2003, after several bouts of illnesses!

Government institution is no respecter of any person since it was established with the Word of God which states that every soul should be subject unto higher powers for there is no power but of God and that the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resists the power resists the ordinance of God : and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnatio n ! In Nig eria of recent past, there were leaders who looked the other way when the nation was engulfed i n tribal wars, human abductions and trafficking, pipelines vandali sm , money laundering , massive oil thefts, armed robberies, assassinations, insurgency, terrorism, all manner of civil disturbances and most importantly , the endemic corruption which had almost ruined the economy of the nation forgetting that the country was bigger than kings, queens, presidents, legislators, the judiciary and every citizen great or small and that no one was above disciple, judgment and punishment !

The time of reckoning and of giving account of stewardship by all persons who at one time or another dipped their hands into the TILL and had stole n from the Nigerian Common Wealth has ripened in Nigeria and that is why God has placed His C hosen V essel in the person of Muhammadu Buhari to move into the threshing floor, clean the Augean Stable once and for all ! WHY WOULD CRIMINALS ALWAYS RUN AND NOT WAIT TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCIES OF THEIR ACTIONS? Economic State of the Nation. Following the most daring recent padding of the 2016 Change Budget with an alarming N1.6trillion, by “trusted” civil servants, heads have begun to roll following the immediate disengagement from service of 26 Director Genera ls (DGs) and Heads of Government Ministries Departments and A gencies (MDA’s) including 13 Vice Chancellors of Federal Government-owned universities , a report surfaced that one of the sacked DG’s allegedly spent about N200 billion on the People Democratic Party’s (PDP’s), 2015 Presidential Election campaign and that no fewer than 10 of them might be handed to the E conomic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), for investigation.
The malicious padding which was exposed on the floor of the National Assembly (NASS), was confirmed by all Principal Officers of the ruling APC Government, including Mr. President and National Chairman Chief John Oyegun, except Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Information and Culture Minister, who, at a forum over the weekend, vehemently denied any form of padding and instantly became a laughing stock of all p articipants which included erudite and distinguished legal practitioner, Chief ‘Femi Falana Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)! We have every reason to bel ieve that Lai Mohammed, is losing focus and no longer the right peg in the right hole of the ministerial appointment after all , in view of officious CULTURE of denials and dismissals of very glaring truths especially in the factual information on the on-going war against Boko- Haram which always conflict ed with stateme nts from the Nigerian Army High Command, AND NOW THIS! IT WAS TIME ALHAJI LAI MOHAMMED WAS RE-DEPLOYE D TO THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM OR ENTERTAINMENT TO BE RESTRICTED TO CULTURAL MATTERS WHICH WOULD FIT HIM BETTER ! Chief John Oyegun alleged that the gale of sacks of civil servants from the Buhari’s Administration was informed by series of acts of internal sabotage in critical are a s of national growth and development by PDP’s appointees in his government who did not believe in the Change Agenda !
Hear what the God of Heaven and Earth just said : “ Behold, I send an A ngel before you , to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.“ Beware of him and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transg r e ssion for my name is in him. “But if thou shall indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak: then I will be an enemy unto your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.” Organised and orchestrated resistance to lawful authorities will always fail and righteousness in government will always prevail!

Divine Recovery of the Republic of Somalia.

The country of Somalia in North Africa s tands out as a very vivid example that only the Will of the living God would hold sway among His creation ! This country of only 9.8 million people, created in 1960 from a former British protectorate and an Italian colony, in the year Nigeria attained independence, had collapsed into ana rchy for over 20 years from 1991 and until 2012 when a new internationally-backed government was installed to usher st ability. T hough the Al-Qaeda-aligned Al Shabab insurgent of that region still pose d some challenges, the point remained that there would always be the divine intervention factor in the a ffairs of men who must submit to His superior authority whether they like it or not! In one of his 2015 Presidential campaign promises PMB said he would rescue Nigeria from becoming A SOMALIA if elected! Can anyone then oppose his revolutionary onslaught against endemic crimes and criminalities in a country that should normally flow with milk and honey and remain a safe haven for all law-abiding citizens ?

Time for National Repentance and Restitution.

All those who have been fingered to have mismanaged the Nigerian economy at any point in time since Independence must now repent and make restitution by willingly refunding all stolen monies and properties acquired with looted funds not to continue in the unhealthy castigation of the divinely established and monitored Change Government of Righteousness of the nation! The mere fact that people are being invited and interrogated from time to time is not a finality that they had been found guilty since the due process of the rule of law must be followed in every case. T he owner of the Heaven and Earth has always demanded for RIGHTEOUSNESS IN GOVERNMENT which according to Proverbs 14:34 states that only righteousness would exalt a nation while SIN remained a repr oach to all people! God is ready to reason with any Nigerian sinner who is remorseful, penitent in heart and ready to take the punishment for his/hers crimes and urges them to take the following steps of repentance : First, acknowledgement of sins or crimes; second, acceptance of responsibility for defaults; third, preparedness to bear cons equences of action and fourth, take a 360 degrees turn away from crimes pursue good habits which conform to the Rule of Law! THE S E ARE THE SURE STEPS FOR THE GENUINELY REPENTANT NIGERIAN CHILD OF GOD TO SECURE HIS UNFLINCHING LOVE AGAIN – ANY OTHER APPROACH WILL END UP IN THE SINKING SAND!

IT’S TIME TO SEPARATE THE SHEEP FROM THE GOATS IN CHANGE GOVERNMENT!

The universal adage which states that one should not judge a book by its cover, has played out negatively in respect of the 2016 Appropriation Bill presented to the National Assembly in December, 2015, with much candor but on scrutiny, turned out to be a monumental fraud allegedly perfected through the most trusted super professional civil servants who padded President Buhari’s figures of N6.08 trillion, with a whooping N1.6 trillion!

With good intentions to deliver dividends of democracy to the teeming masses who voted him to power, the President’s Budget of Hope which received standing ovation and was loudly applauded by the legislators was later discovered to be stuffed with terrible discrepancies and anomalies which could neither be explained nor defended by the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) at the various Committee stages preparatory to passage. The sacred book of holy figures had been desecrated and fingered by malfeasants who took undue advantage of the unflinching TRUST bestowed upon them by Mr. President who believed in their expertise and ingenuity as experts in the field, art and mastery of the appropriation craft, taking into consideration that they were the old brigade that usually spent 35 uninterrupted years to illegally accumulate funds of the common wealth kept in their custody – barring unforeseen exposures as this!

On assumption of office President Buhari trusted the execution of the mandate of righteousness in governance erroneously in the hands of the Mafia Civil Servants since he had pledged to become a civilized civilian in the Civilian Presidential Villa without the slightest inkling that they were rattle snakes on the prowl! Budget 2016 was to wear the new garb of the Zero –Based budgeting formula which involved justifying needs with costs as against the annual incremental approach that transfers expenses from previous budgets with added upward review and the President is now embarrassingly aware that the supposed experts were actually enemies of his Change Administration who were used to the old order of budget preparation through the usual envelope and incremental system of past administrations which was very fraught with deep and monumental corruption!

Presidency sources disclosed that the transparent Zero-based budgeting system had been in the front burner since the advent of the new government when it merged the Budget Office and National Planning to form the new Ministry of Budget and National Planning which the bureaucrats and former public officials vehemently resisted because the innovation would completely block all avenue of official corruption and exploiting of the system to which they were accustomed!

Apart from subtle hostility to the new Ministry, those civil servants were also alleged to have created various challenges during the 2016 Budget preparation stages through deliberate administrative and bureaucratic bottlenecks, and by presenting the out-dated 2013 Price Reference List instead of a quarterly-updated list through the Bureau of Public Procurement and as a result lots of discrepancies of inclusions, duplication of figures, errors and ambiguities in the budget that has over 6.000 items, it became impossible for the legislators to continue their oversight functions which was suspended on Tuesday, 9 th February, 2016 ! According to Premium Times, a senior official from the Presidency had blamed “budget Mafia” for the discrepancies in the document in reference to civil servants responsible for preparing the budget and that government would resolve the issues without much publicity to avoid playing into the hands of its critics!

In the meantime, the Presidency has ordered the immediate investigation of all the allegations and issues, particularly on the padding, raised by the National Assembly (NASS) on various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s), of government to critically look into the budget item-by-item, incident-by-incident, with particular attention to the reactions from NASS, ministries, media, civil society groups or indeed anybody regarding the padding of the 2016 Budget estimates, according to an anonymous government top functionary quoted by Premium Times at the weekend! All corrections would be made to ensure that the budget was passed as soon as possible as government is working cautiously on the corrections with the intention of sorting and correcting any error/malfeasance whatsoever spotted in the 2016 Appropriation Bill straight away!

Government Budget is an economic blue print, plan or financial statement of estimates of expected income and expenditure; an appraisal and aggregate of the estimates of MDA’s in the following year usually presented to the National Assembly for oversight of checks and balances as being done now to ensure that the welfare of the entire population is captured to ensure good and transparent governance. In the past, Nigeria’s Budgets had always tilted to support concurrent issues of payment of salaries and all manners of domestic indulgencies of the elites’ weakness for imported goods rather than capture capital projects in areas of education, health, housing, industry and agriculture that would benefits majority of the masses mostly. The 2016 Budget was the first in 16 years of Nigeria’s fresh attempt at a democratic experience which placed priority on the emancipation of the downtrodden from several years of neo-colonialism and yet the enemies within succeeded to create a set-back which we believe would be quickly rectified to guide the government for positive implementation while the culprits must be fished out and shown the exit door to prosecution and punishment of adequate periods of imprisonments if found guilty!

While Nigerians wait for the outcome of the Presidential Investigation Panel to submit its findings the Minister of Budget and National Planning has appealed to the legislators to respect the true wishes of the President as it borders on the 30 per cent allocation to capital projects in the 2016 Budget and avoid the mistakes of the past where only a meager 10 per cent was usually allocated since the government was determined to overcome subsisting economic challenges with that modest percentage of the Budget! He also asserted that it was possible to expand the nation’s revenue base outside of Crude Oil dependency through achievable targets from all revenue-generating agencies and also with more efforts of incursions into tax coverage areas since government had successfully blocked corruption loopholes and revenue leakages through the successful establishment of the Treasury Single Account (TSA)!

We have no problems with taxation by the present administration provided it had adequate machinery on ground to ensure that no taxable adult was exempted, that the albatross of multiple taxation of all wage-earners was resolved, and that the taxation exercise was executed with a human face!

The worst tax evaders are the rich and affluent in the society – the business magnates, local and foreign oil merchants and entrepreneurs, captain of industries and the construction sector workers of the economy because one of the most important reasons for taxation is to raise and increase revenue for government but the principles of equality and fairness must be engaged. It is common knowledge that the rich has greater ability to pay taxes more than the poor therefore, the searchlight must be focused more on rich tax-evaders. It is very pertinent for government to realize the necessity to employ the method of informal or indirect taxation at this period of global economic recession so that the poor masses would not bear the crunch more that their rich counterparts. Presently, there is virtually no one with purchasing power in Nigeria who is not paying taxes through the VAT system which percentage was recently increased by over 100 per cent to conform with international standards and best practices!

Indirect taxation through increased duties on prohibitive goods like foreign beverages, foods, cigarettes and cereals – especially, imported smuggled rice, would raise more taxes and reduce the burden from the majority population who are mostly unemployed and contribute very significant proportion of taxes into government coffers round the clock! Thank God that President Buhari has returned home to wade into the imbroglio over multiple taxation of the Talakawas (poorest of the poor), and is on seat also to monitor the investigations that would unravel the brains behind the monumental fraud which was perpetrated under his very nose by those whom he inadvertently trusted so that the Sheep could be separated from the Goats in his Change Government! The detection of this fraud was a divine intervention to put the nation on the right track of genuine economic emancipation once and for all!

The time for judgment upon all those who are opposed to the Government of Righteousness divinely established to cater for the needs of the masses which will completely wipe off the rot and decay of corruption that had been the hallmark of Nigeria for decades has manifest and the die is cast for all defaulters! The word of God talks of the imminent judgment of the nations at the end of the age in which they shall be separated one from another as a Shepherd divides his sheep from the goats – the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left [Matthew. 25:31-46].

The import of this Scripture is that those on the right hand constituted the obedient group who would inherit the kingdom prepared for them from the foundations of the world while those on the left represented the wicked and disobedient who would be condemned and cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels for everlasting punishment!

Definitely the enemies of Nigeria and their collaborators at home and abroad deserve this punishment and more!

“He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and him that is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I come quickly, says the Lord and my reward is with me to give every man according as his work shall be whether it be good or it be bad!

He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is telling the Church! Amen. Come quickly Lord!

PRESIDENT BUHARI SHOULD APPLY THE BRAKES ON FOREIGN SPACE SHUTTLES !

The fact that President Muhammadu Buhari, had an impeccable antecedent , a humble and distinctive character, a charismatic personality and had always displayed a frugal and Spartan kind of life , in spite of being a soldier for an a ppreciable period of time could not be faulted by his antagonists, before, during and after the 2015 General Elections in Nigeria! In fact, PMB was and s till is an acceptable and likeable global leader who had endeared to himself to the rich and the poor alike!

There was a time when his opponents averred during the elections that the promulgation of Decree 4 of 1984 by his military administration was to gag the Press from exposing the “ skeletons in his cupboard” , but he proved them wrong when he declared and made public his assets which show that he never kept a foreign bank account and had one single account in Nigeria, thro ughout his entire military career , and had virtu ally no significant properties of his own ! The President has every right to flaunt his credentials to curry exter nal favourable political, economic and modern social amenities for his impoverished people from international sympat hizers and donor agencies in order to succour the painful and almost hopeless situation of livelihood at home and h e never forgot that he should walk by FAITH and not by SIGHT to fend for his people the TALAKAWAS who had been terribly downtrodden for too long and th at faith without works was dead! T herefore no one should blame him for exerting so much energy to solicit assistance from foreign countrie s where he strongly believed solutions would flow from in an avalanche!

“What does it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith and have not works? Can faith save him? [James.2:14]. Within the last eight months, President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB), had made spirited efforts to bolster a new image as the Change crusader for the Nigerian Republic by attracting international attention for support in the areas of security, economy, the industry and general social welfare packages for the majority populace which had been suffocated with corruption as a way of life and could have drowned in the miry clay of national degradation without divine intervention at the last 2015 General Elections ! The President had met with all of the world powers Presidents, H ead s of States and G overnments from all the continents throughout the globe and had solicited for all-round co-operation for the revival of the drowning “giant of Africa”! Starting with the West African sub-region PMB wasted no time on assumption of office between June and July 2015, to visit neighbouring P residents of Cameroon, Ghana, Niger, Benin and Chad, which formed allies with Nigeria against the Boko Haram insurgents . He also followed up towards the end of July 2015 , with a visit to the United State of America (USA), at the invitation of President Barack Obama , for a fence-mending tete-a-tete ; for the unsavoury roles played by his administration in all doom prophesies and negative diplomatic manoeuvrings against the Federal Republic of Nigeria ! PMB’s international shuttles has also taken him to the G7 Meeting in Germany , South Africa (twice), India, Iran Malta, France (thrice), Britain (twice), United Arab Emirate (UAE), Kenya, and Ethiopia ; where he recently attended the African Union (AU), 26 Ordinary Assembly Conference of Heads of States and Governments, held in Addis Ababa. In late November , 2015 PMB was a delegate at the Global Oil and Gas Conference held in Teheran, Iran and also at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting held in Malta, chaired by Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II of England; which discussed fresh Commonwealth Initiative on Development and also Climate Change; and from there crossed over to Paris, France, where he attended a United Nations Conference on Climate Change from 30 November 2015. Two days of his return from the last of the listed international journeys, on 3 December, 2015, the President departed Nigeria for yet another three- day global conference tagged, “China-Africa Corporation Forum” in Johannesburg, South Africa! In the new year 2016, PMB had embarked on the following international journeys; Kenya and Ethiopia in one stretch from 28 -31 January and an official visit to France and Britain in another stretch from Tuesday, 2 to 5 February. He attended the European Union (EU), Parliament Session held in Strasbourg, France during which he solicited for EU’s assistance and co-operation in areas of economic social and insecurity challenges a nd also had bi-lateral meeting with President of the European Parliament and called on EU to support Nigeria in its recent crisis and challenges in respect of oil theft and illegal bunkering in the Niger Delta as well as recovery of illicit funds. He also sought co-operation in Nigeria’s attempts to restore security, curb corruption and fight crime in order to achieve/ improve social stability to ensure open doors for full economic relations with Europe and the rest of the world. PMB promised foreign investors an immense business opportunities and guarantee for security of people and investments brought to the country But t ongues are wagging on all sides of the political, social and economic divide, among the opposition and the social media of the TALAKAWAS who now wonder why it should take so many space-shuttles to get the country back on track – especially when ONE SPACE JOURNEY COSTS A WHOOPING US$350.000 – 500.000, all expenses paid - ESTACODES and sundry allowances of an enlarged 80-member presidential entourage at such a n austere time according to “Black M arket ” foreign exchange auditors; because during his consistent absence from home, the Change generation minister s we re bent on milking the docile cow s and riding the willing horse s of Nigerian workers and the able-bodied unemployed citizens to death ! When Mr President was away on space shuttle s , they conspired and increased electricity tariff by 45 per cent with effect from 1 February 2016; to further impoverish the TALAKAWAS of Nigeria whom President Buhari faithfully represent ; that was not all , the issue of multiple taxa tion of the working population wa s still much in the front burner while increased V alue Added Tax (VAT), which must conform with international standards because the downtrodden masses must be bled to death with an unbridled taxation regime that had neither social insurance nor security trust fund to cushion the deadly blows ! During the recent meeting with world leaders wh om he joined in London for the “Supporting Syria and the Region Conference”, co-hosted by Britain, Germany, Norway, Kuwait and the United Nations which began on 4 February, 2016, in solidarity for a tot al stoppage of the recalcitrant 5-year-old civil war in Syria , President Buhari seized the opportunity and privilege of his participation in the Conference to solicit for more global understanding, collaboration and support for Nigeria and other nations adversely affected by insurgency and terrorism .

ANY GAINS FROM THE GLOBE-TROTTING?

We did not criticize PMB’s 8-month international trips for the very plausible reasons that they were desirable for the much-needed co-operation mentioned in previous paragraphs and we were very correct in that Nigeria had become the beehive of foreign commercial investments by business entrepreneurs from all countries visited by the President . Compliments of the United States , Nigeria now has military support of DRONES and combat ha rdware to creditably win the war against the Boko Haram terrorists . The Federal Government also received from the US Government , Anti-Terrorism Assistance Programme [ATA], in which 200 Nigerian Police Officers benefited in October 2015 . T he Commonwealth countries, Arab c onglomerate of nations , and the Africa Union , have also confederat ed to support Nigeria at its time of need ; however President Buhari should realise that FAITH that is executed with the “arms of flesh” , carnality or aggravated enthusiasm as it now seemed would also be dead! Charity, it is said, begins at home; therefore now is the divinely appointed time for Mr. President to apply the brakes and sit back at home at least for the next calendar year to resolve the following more pressing challenges that are about to explode into national crisis !
1. A sum of N29billion appro priated to purchase arms for Nigerian soldiers to continue the prosecution of war against Boko Haram is yet to be released six months on!
2. Insecurity of lives and properties due to suicide bombing tactics of fleeing desperate Boko Haram terrorists due to absence of CCTV (Close Circuit Television) camera s in strategic soft - ta r get areas of the North East cities and towns and even in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)! Mr. President needs to probe the over $ 4 70 M illion fraudulent contract of the FCT CCTV cameras , which never functioned since 20 10 !
3. Elect r icity tariff is up by 45 per cent with effect from 1 February , 2016, even thou gh consumers are always short changed!
4.  The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), who also represent the masses of the people are already opposed to the mindless tariff are determined to resist the Federal Government through protests, pickets and the Industrial Courts because consumer rights have been sidelined and abused !
5. The unemployment statistics is growing by the day while those who are gainfully employed could not earn salaries as at when due because of the continuous challenge of thousands of ghost workers!
6. The enormous challenge of how to execute the 2016 deficit budget after the National Assembly ’s scrutiny and appraisal is also outstanding!

Since President Buhari has vowed to fight for the masses who bore the brunt of the economic woes of the nation since independence, it was high time he sat down to show his love to them as father to children because his presence would solve all of the above problems and even more! In the meantime, Mr. President should delegate his overseas trips to his Vice and other diligent subordinates who will perform creditably and make him proud! The President’s last journey to France was fraught with danger as it was reported that his aircraft landed amidst very bad weather but we thank God that his detractors did not have the luxury to rejoice over his demise because he is the LORD’S anointed President and deliverer for the nation of Nigeria for eight consecutive years of two terms (2015-2023) !

NOW IS THE SET TIME FOR A HOLISTIC WAR AGAINST CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA !

Nigeria is still suffering so much back-stabbing, betrayal and degradation in the hands of some of its political leaders who pled ged allegiance to be faithful , loyal, honest and diligent to protect majority interests politically, economically an d socially , but who have reneged and now vehemently oppose d to the ongoing battle to rid its larger population of the odium and shame of corruption that had bestride the nation through several decades of unwholesome governance ! Human beings could be so unpredictable depending on the P iper manipulating their actions, inactions, commissions or omissions considering the trending vehement support for some Nigerians currently under the searchlight of corruption offences by the E conomic and F inancial C rimes Commission (EFCC) !

Or how would one explain the rational ity behind the organized opposition against the current investigation and prosecution of those found involved in the US$2.1 dollars “Dasuki Gate” Arms Procurement S cam , when all suspects involved did not deny collection of money from the main suspect retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki, former National Security Adviser ( NSA), to ex-President Ebele Jonathan , who also did not deny “dispensing ” the said fund ? These enemies of the masses of all marginalized Nigerians whose monies were diverted to private pockets instead of being used to purchase arms and ammunition for the soldiers fighting the war against Boko Haram terrorists, initially campaigned against the arrests and legal detention of the suspects and demanded for their immediate release! Eventually wh en sufficient evidence was amassed to prosecute them in court s of competent jurisdiction, these same fifth columnists criticized the suspects bail conditions as being too stringent and accused the Federal Government of selective vendetta against the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members ! We should not be surprised in respect of their very awkward behavior in view of the fact that, CORRUPTION was virtually turned into a national tradition in the 16 years of former maladminist ration of the nation by PDP whose members have been caught neck-deep in most of the upheavals so far and these new group of saboteurs of national security and the economy are no doubt recipients of the stolen funds whom EFCC should immediately turn the search light on for more sordid fraudulent exposures !

It is said that birds of the same feathers flock together! Bef ore PDP’s spokesman, Olisa Metuh was expose d by the EFCC as one of the recipients of the stolen US$ 2.1 Arms Procurement Money, he was the most vociferous critic of the APC’s go vernment and Mr. President whom he described as a “tyrant” , but little did anyone know that he was “throwing stones from a glass house!” Olisa Met u h was caught “pants down” for collecting N400.000.000 (four hundred million naira) from Sambo Dasuki, whom he had passionately defended as being innocent of the arms deal accusation! Nigerians placed t he i r trust for protection, d efense, succor, comfort, health needs, economic growth in the oil and gas, agricultural and solid mineral development sectors , in the hands of past politicians only to be short- changed through massive looting of the common wealth by very few in positions of authority and subsequently bequeathed a six-year old insurgency by the Boko Haram religious sect which has claimed thousands of thousands of lives and properties running into billions of naira in estimates upon the nation ! The Word of God says: “These are wells without water; clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. “For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lust s of the flesh , through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. “ While t hey promised them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption; fo r of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.” (2Peter . 2: 17- 19) What is CORRUPTION? It is an immoral act of dishonestly using one’s position or power to advantage, especially for money ; but it is on record that ex-President Jonathan’s administration publicly condoned corruption with impunity while he officially declared that “stealing was not corruption!” IMAGINE IF JONATHAN AND HIS PDP WERE TO REMAIN IN POWER AFTER THE 2015 GENERAL ELECTIONS ? – GOD FORBID! It is only in Nigeria that some mass of brainwashed persons defend corrupt politicians or government officials who are on trial with so much passion and clarion calls that they should be released to enjoy their loots just because they got some pittance from the culprits to salvage their miserable lives of greed and avarice ! Did you know that some of these set of people insinuate d that , “ Sanni Abacha stole, transferred and starched Nigeria’s monies into foreign banks because he envisaged tha t Nigeria would be broke as it wa s now and would need such funds which are now being graciously repatriated to the country to cushion its flagging economy and depleting currency !” What an erroneous, outrageous and unpatriotic and very wicked expression by Nigeria’s “household enemies” who do not fear divine consequences of their actions and u tterances!

The new President has sent TWO BILLS to the Senate for stiffer penalty on corruption in view of Amnesty International ’s recent corruption perceptions index which w as released on Wednesday 27 Janu ary, 2016, and which placed Nigeria as the 136th least corrupt country in the wo rld in the year 2015 !

President Buhari has requested the National Assembly (NASS), to consider and approve :

1. Money Laundering Prevention and Prohibition Bill 2016 and ;
2. The Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Bill 2016 believed to be a renewed drive to improve Nigeria’s legal framework to further combat and defeat corruption from the polity.

The first Bill according to Senate President sought to repeal the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 2011 and re-enact a more comprehensive legislation while the second sought to seek relevant international assistance in cases of money laundering . Every patriotic Nigerian should support this Executive drive to completely destroy the leprous attitude of endemic corruption w h ich had constantly portrayed Nigeria as a country administered since independence by rogues and vagabonds who should not have been in governance in the first instance ! If it had not been for God , the enemies , in 2015, would have turned Nigeria in to a “ Somalia ” which remained without a recognized government for over twenty years, if a well-planned and heavily -financed act of insurrection by surrogates of the ruling party during the general elections had succeeded! This is the more reason why the CANCER named corruption must be totally killed now because the nation is granted an opportunity of repentance which may never come its way again in this life-time and which posterity would not forgive the present generation of leaders if they failed to grab the opportunity with both hands ! The two bills represent a double-edged sword which will acquire successes and victories in the areas of righteousness, probity, equity, transparency and equal opportunities in governance for generations yet unborn , just as it obtains in the United States of America presently! A cursory study of the two bills reveal that the gains expected from a quick attention and passage of the bills are greatly enormous for the following reasons:

Bill One would guarantee comprehensive provisions to prohibit the laundering of the criminal activities and expand the sco pe of money laundering offences;  Provide protection for “ whistle blowers ” - employees of various institutions , bodies , and professions who may discover money laundering , enhance customer due diligence;  Provide appropriate penalties and expand the scope of supervising bodies ; Recognize the role of certain regulatory organizations to address the challenges faced in implementation of comprehensive anti-money regime .

Bill Two seeks to attract relevant international assistance in cases of money laundering with the following effort s in view:  Provide framework for other countries to assist in provision of and obtaining of evidence and ensuring arrangements for such persons to give evidence;  Hopes to elicit international assistance in criminal investigations, recovery, forfeiture, or confiscation of property in respect of offences;  The restraining of dealings in or the freezing of assets that might be recovered , forfeited or confiscated in respect of offences;  The execution of request for search and seizure, the location and identification of witnesses and suspects, the service of documents and other matters so connected.

The ball is now in the court of 109 Senators who took oath of allegiance to represent all of the electorate and people of Nigeria numbering over 170 million, righteously, faithfully and diligently and work in the interest of policies that would enhance smooth administration of the nation! We need not remind them that total elimination and annihilation of CORRUPTION is the key priority of this Change administration through the transparent leadership of President Buhari who has not left anyone in doubt in respect of his antecedent for zero tolerance for the malaise in any sector of the economy! The two camps of Senators in the hallowed chambers must unite for the sake of posterity and give priority attention to the quick passage of these TWO SALVATION BILLS which will lift the Nigeria n innocent masses out of the doldrums of shame and persistent international castigation as a terribly corrupt people who should be treated as LEPERS! This is the time for the Senators to redeem their image and prove that they have repented of greed, avarice and selfishness that brought them to office without the consent, approval and blessings of APC’s hierarchy and that they are not the enemy within which is sponsoring opposition against eradication of CORRUPTION in Nigeria!

Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora including friendly international communities, whose nations thrive through zero tolerance for corruption , observance of the Rule of Law and immediate and commensurate punishments for defaulters , [ no matter their positions], are watching closely and would employ all legitimate means to ensure the quick passage of the bills! Did you know that Mr. President had always taken advantage of all international journeys to solicit for security co-operation and support for the nation’s unacceptable economic growth which had been permanently stunted through endemic corruption which characterized successive administrations of PDP ? The time for all Nigerians to exhibit true patriotism by supporting President Buhari in his determined crusade for a NEW NIGERIA devoid of corruption is NOW!
