NIGERIAN SENATE WITH THOSE MINISTERS DESERVED THE SACK!

Cabinet reshuffle is an age-long practice of governance and there is nothing novel about it! 

Presidents or Heads of State have the prerogative to wield their big stick of “hire and fire” to improve service delivery and therefore neither deserved the unusual hullabaloo nor the accolades that greeted President Buhari’s sack of only TWO ministers?

If he had begun the process of REFERENDUM to SHUT the SENATE and to decentralize the lopsided political structure which favours the Federal Government against federating States and DEVOLVE POWER to them according to all popular demands, he would have laid the requisite foundation for bequeathing an enviable LEGACY for posterity and Nigerians would have given him a very loud and standing ovation!  

The sack of two cabinet ministers of the APC Government should be likened to the treatment of skin rashes instead of rooting out the leprous disease which had eaten deep into the body polity of a nation under the watch of some strange leaders who revel in feudalism, oligarchy, tribalism and nepotism with great relish! 

The man who swore in his 2015 campaign promises to destroy Boko Haram terrorists, crush the cankerworm of CORRUPTION and improve on the weak economy came on board and muddled up the entire government machinery as a confused person who found himself in the presidential seat by accident!

According to official sources which emanated on 1st September, 2021, the two Ministers of Power, Sale Mamman and Agriculture, Sabo Nanono, were relieved of their posts sequel to the “tradition of subjecting our projects and programs implementation to independent and critical self-review” through sectors reporting during Cabinet meetings and Retreats that helped to identify “weak areas, close gaps, build cohesion, and synergy in governance, manage the economy and improve the delivery of public good to Nigerians”; and found “culpable” if We may ask?

Interestingly the President who promised to emphasise the 9 priority areas of governments for the second term failed to deal decisively with INSECURITY WHICH HAS RUBBISHED ALL HIS ACCLAIMED ACHIEVEMENTS IN SIX YEARS OF GOVERNANCE!   

Till date, “Out of School Children” WHO HAVE NOW INCREASED TO 13 MILLION are still roaming Nigerian streets; while all 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs), of the country are swarming with bandits, gunmen, kidnappers etc, and no one now including them (the politicians/security agents), can claim to be safe anymore!

QUESTIONS: 

Why would the President employ incompetent personnel at all? Answer: Because he practises NEPOTISM! Sabo Nanono (75), was an old crony way back and Sale Mamman, (63), also, his “AREA person!”

If the doctrine of “Federal Character” was strictly observed, every State would produce cerebrals who can stand the test of time in any clime; then why sideline competency for mediocrity? Answer: Maybe because they were nominated by the CABAL whose wishes must be obeyed?

DID PRESIDENT BUHARI STUDY JONATHAN’S HAND-OVER NOTES?

We have kept wondering whether he read ex-President’s Ebele Jonathan’s Hand-over Notes of 2015 and took judicious notice of the portion which lamented over the infiltration of the extremist “Boko Haram Sympathisers” in his cabinet!

While attending the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Church Service in Abuja in the year 2012, Mr Jonathan said and We quote, “....some of them are in the executive arm of government, some of them are in the parliamentary/legislative arm of government, while some of them are even in the judiciary, .... some are also in the armed forces, the police and other security agencies”; adding that the situation was “even worse than the civil war we fought”!

The ex-President also said, “During the civil war, we knew and we could even predict where the enemy was coming from .... but the challenge we have today is more complicated!”

“Somebody said that the situation was so bad that even if one’s son was a member, one would not even know. That means that if the person will plant a bomb behind your house, you won’t know”, Mr Jonathan lamented! 

In January 2012, he declared State of Emergency in Yobe and Borno,(North East), Plateau and Niger States, (North Central), while Adamawa was placed under curfew following a surge in ethnic and sectarian violence!

IN 2021 GRAPEVINE SAYS BOKO HARAM NOW HAVE SPONSORS IN BUHARI’S GOVERNMENT - TRUE OF FALSE? TRUE!

Otherwise, the President would not be escalating the current bloodshed being perpetrated by armed Fulani herdsmen on the entire 200million citizens of Nigeria by insisting on tracing the out-dated CATTLE OPEN GRAZING ROUTES Gazette of 1965 (a first Republic Grazing Reserve Law, specifically addressed to open grazing activities, rights and land titles to Fulani Pastoralists in Northern Nigeria and passed by the Legislative Assembly), and for setting up a Committee chaired by his Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, having earlier settled for CATTLE RANCHING AS THE BEST OPTION?

The CoS and his committee wasted no time in identifying “368 (non-existent), grazing routes across 25 States of Nigeria” which the Federal Government intended to “REVIEW” in spite of massive oppositions from the citizens! 

We believe that it was a mission in futility which recommendations would end up in the trash bins in spite of the fact that public funds had been illegally dispensed for the exercise in futility!   

It is inconceivable that a Fulani President would play a divisive role in a diversified country as Nigeria by insisting that the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, Constitution (as amended), which guarantees freedom of movement and ownership of immovable properties in any part of the country, could also be applicable to ANIMALS – especially Fulani Cows and so brazenly backed up by the Attorney General of the Federation who should know better!

However it is heart-warming that seventeen (17), Southern Governors, united along bi-partisan platform, had collectively passed  State Laws prohibiting any form of animal open grazing and also introduced local community policing to enforce obedience.

THE KATSINA RANCHING PACKAGE!

Interestingly, it was revealed recently that the Federal Government had now adopted a “pilot project option” for its National Livestock Transformation [ranching] Plan (NLTP), with the President’s Katsina State as the first “BENEFICIARY” packaged with a whooping take-off grant of N6.25 billion of public funds for the private or is it Katsina State Government enterprise?

ARE THE BOKO HARAM SPONSORS IN BUHARI’S GOVERNMENT MORE POWERFUL THAT GOD? NO!

“If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the Godly from trials and hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of Judgement”. (2 Peter. 2:9).

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: President Buhari must urgently address FOOD SECURITY, FOOD INFLATION and POOR PURCHASING POWER of the masses in spite of his pressing CATTLE OPEN GRAZING PROJECT!

Nation’s inflation of goods and services especially of food between January and April Q1, 2021, according to a Consumer Price Index report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), sky-rocketed from 17.33% on to 18.17% then 18.12% and climbed to a zenith of 20.57% to debunk any official claim of food surpluses/security since 2018!

These ridiculous and outrageous statistics are the highest year-on-year in over 11 years of Nigeria’s flagging economy which like other nations got a bashing from the unfortunate Covid-19 Pandemic, insecurity of lives/property through terrorism, banditry and the unabated institutional corruption by politicians in government circles!

BUHARI’S MAGICAL GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP)!

The President MUST bequeath a worthy and lasting LEGACY to Nigerians at all costs in spite of the very glaring, chaotic security challenges, coupled with a virtually failed economy and a humongous impunity-driven institutional corruption – the type that has never been witnessed in any country of the world to date!

In contemporary classification, legacy should be associated with social service at any level of life in which diligent, outstanding, deliberately-planned and comprehensive achievements, designed to positively touch millions of lives from one generation to another is engendered!

About two-and-a-half years ago, precisely at the end of March, 2019, President Buhari declared that he needed the support of a totally-discredited National Assembly (NASS), in order “to leave behind a good legacy after his eight years in office” instead of seeking the FACE OF GOD to discard the MIXED MULTITUDE of 2015 marriage of strange bed-fellows which have destroyed what was left of his acclaimed “integrity”!

IS IT NOT OBVIOUS THAT THE “ARM OF FLESH” HAS FAILED MR. PRESIDENT?

Can the President build a sound legacy on FALSEHOOD? When he took over in 2015, the Boko Haram, insurgency which was about SIX years old had strong tentacles in Bornu State, North East Nigeria, where it controlled 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs), with the Islamic Caliphate Flags flying at FULL MAST!

Nigerians believed that the old General wiped out the scoundrels within Five months of his investiture according to official sources from the Military but it turned out to be CLASSICAL FALSEHOOD because the INDIGENES faulted the claim!  

PRESIDENTIAL SPOKESMAN, GARBA SHEHU, BLAMED SLAIN FARMERS FOR FAILING TO REQUEST MILITARY PERMISSION!

Seventy-six Bornu State Village farmers were gruesomely slaughtered on their FARMS on Saturday 28th November 2020, by Boko Haram terrorists, close to Zarbamari for” daring to arrest and handing over one of its brothers to the Nigerian soldiers!”  BUT while the nation grieved and mourned, Mr. Garba Shehu in an interview with BBC, blamed the unfortunate and dead victims for failing to OBTAIN MILITARY CLEARANCE  from Federal soldiers who would have given them security cover!

THE MIRACLE 2021 GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP)!

 In spite of the general uproar over inept performances of the APC Government: The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), has claimed a GDP growth of 5.01% in Quarter 2 of 2021 and just like when Mr. President appended his signature on a 20-year processed Petroleum Industry Bill and received a “STANDING OVATION”, he and his handlers ALONE are already rejoicing over the Thursday 26th August, 2021, NBS report which states that Nigeria’s “economy” grew by 5.01%, year-on-year in the second Quarter!

According to that report the 5.01% marked “three consecutive quarters of growth” following the negative growth rates recorded in the second and third quarters of 2020; because the Q2 2021 growth rate was higher than the -6.10% growth rate recorded in Q2 2020, and the 0.51% recorded in Q1 2021, year-on-year.

NBS has attributed the “miracle growth” to the return of normalcy to business and economic environment prior to Covid-19 related restrictions coupled with gradual commercial activity which encouraged local and international travels noticed since the end of 2020. How did the “magic” occur? According to another NBS report in 2020, the Nigerian economy recorded a SECOND RECESSION after the 2016 occurrence in Q3 which ended in September 2020!

According to the agency, the 2020 recession was the worst since 1987 as the GDP in real terms declined by 3.62% (year on year) in the third quarter of 2020 in the oil and non-oil sectors and claimed that the recession was driven by the ‘’long closure’’ of the Nigerian borders which restricted economic movement across borders

Q. Which report should we believe, considering current super high inflation of goods and services and the nation’s heavy debt burden?

GENERALS ABACHA AND BABANGIDA LEGACIES!

 Late General Sanni Abacha’s, (Nigeria’s Head of State, 1993-1998), style of treasury-looting broke all criminal records in the annals of the history of human ingenuity in financial crimes till date!

The day before President Aremu Obasanjo’s investiture (28th May, 1999), ex-General Abacha’s successor, Abdusalami Abubakar (also an ex-General), published in the Official Gazette a list of items worth over USD$ 1 BILLION DOLLARS seized from the family and top aides of the late military maximum ruler which included:

About USD$800 dollars in CASH!

Estates in Nigeria and Holdings in Sierra Leonian Refineries. BUT that list was limited for lack of details in that SEVERAL MILLIONS of US Dollars have been further recovered from several countries of the world, by successive democratic administrations since 1999 to date!

The incumbent APC Administration in February 2020, also discovered another ABACHA LOOT of  USD $321 million dollars starched away in the Island of Jersey and others in the United States which We strongly believe MUST have been recovered by now SINCE ALL RECOVERED ABACHA LOOTS ARE YET TO BE ACCOUNTED FOR BY THE BUHARI ADMINISTRATION!

WHAT HAPPENED DURING EX- GENERAL BABANGIDA’S REGIME? EXCERPTS FROM PAGE TWO OF OUR 338TH EDITION OF 2ND FEBRUARY, 2020.

“The military economic policy of almost 30 years was a total disaster! It was characterised by institutional corruption of the highest degree – especially during Babangida’s era when “the doctrine of cash settlement” was very prominent to keep him on seat in transition to democratic presidency! Having successfully deposed, General Muhammadu Buhari and Brigadier ‘Tunde Idiagbon, whom Nigerians believed would restore national confidence for an improved economy, Babangida exhibited gross incompetence through mismanagement of resources which led to institutional decay, increased poverty, with its ripple effect in crimes and insecurity 

“There was a reckless neglect of the non-oil agricultural sector/ natural mineral extraction for dependence on crude oil exports and importation of refined petroleum products and exotic food items through the private sector participation to the detriment of made-in-Nigeria products while huge chunk of foreign-exchange earnings was spent on debt servicing!

“Under the watch of General Babangida (1985-1993), about USD$ 12 billion earned from an oil windfall during the Gulf War was reportedly mismanaged!”

*****BUT in a recent interview during his 80th birthday anniversary, the “MARADONA” said that the corruption credited to his administration was A CHILD’S PLAY, compared to THE BUHARI’S SIX YEARS IN OFFICE!  

BUHARI’S LEGACY SHOULD BE “PEACE THROUGH REFERENDUM”! 

BUHARI COULD BEQUEATH THE BEST LEGACY IF HE WOULD CHAMPION AND FAST-TRACK THE DRAFTING AND APPROVAL OF A BRAND NEW CONSTITUTION, SHUT THE SENATE AND OPT FOR A PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM OF 74 MEMBERS ETC, THROUGH REFERENDUM WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY! NOW! NOW! NOW!

PRESIDENT BUHARI MUST PRIORITIZE THE FOLLOWING CITIZENS’ DEMANDS! 

All official PADDINGS during financial, monetary, and fiscal allocations/appropriations – among the three tiers – Executive, Legislative and the Judiciary, especially during Budget preparation, defence, approval and execution, MUST be totally blocked through meticulous, painstaking and monitoring by righteous and trusted citizens w.e.f 2022 Fiscal Year!

Senate must be scrapped on or before 29th May, 2023! Buhari must achieve this feat through REFERENDUM without recourse to the current NASS!

House of Representative members must be reduced from 360 to 74 members by 29th May, 2023 and placed on civil service salary structure! 

Legislative processes must commence HENCEFORTH to establish: 

STATE POLICE ADMINISTRATIONS in all 36 States of the Federation according to one of the 13 recommendations of the 23-Member El Rufai Restructuring Committee of January 2018, which is now TWO YEARS, EIGHT MONTHS OLD!

Derivation Principles. 

Fiscal federalism and revenue allocation. 

Devolution/De-centralisation of powers from Federal to States. 

Resource control (exploitation and revenue sharing of resources from oil/minerals) through the proposed BRAND NEW CONSTITUTION.

Local Government Authority (LGA) autonomy. 

Application of REFERENDUM to decide all the CONTENTIOUS National or State issues.

The non-inclusion of INDEPENDENT CANDIDACY which MUST preclude citizens from being compulsorily forced to join political parties – must be inserted in the new constitution to accommodate all interested citizens to vie for political offices at ELECTIONS. All of the above recommendations MUST be implemented by President Buhari without further delay if he TRULY WANTS TO LEAVE BEHIND A GOOD LEGACY WHEN HE DEPARTS OFFICE ON 29TH MAY 2023, WHICH IS:  ONE-YEAR-AND-FOUR- MONTHS FROM SEPTEMBER, 2021!

NIGER DELTA MILITANTS SHOULD NOT ROCK THE BOAT!

[Letter to Armed Niger Delta Youths In The Creeks.]

There seems to be a bi-partisan consensus that incumbent President did a yeoman’s job by giving assent to the aged Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), BUT Niger Delta militants who rejected some contents of the Bill which they claimed were unfavourable to the region as prepared by the current National Assembly (NASS), have plans to “HUMBLE THE ECONOMY” through resumption of bombings of pipelines and strategic oil installations!

And whereas Nigeria’s economy is in a dire strait! Unemployment rate is at 33.3%, while double digit inflation of goods and services was at 17% in the Quarter 1 of 2021, and risen to 17.28% in Quarter 2. The country’s debt profile of N32.9 trillion naira in Quarter 1 is still rising because the APC government of President Buhari still borrows with IMPUNITY!

On 19th August, 2021, the Federal Government disclosed that it would borrow N5.6trillion naira to fund the 2022 Budget while it is indebted to the WORLD BANK in the sum of US$11.19//// dollars! DEBT SERVICING was summed up at 24% of the 2021 (N13.5trillion naira), Budget!

Definitely, this is not an opportune time to burst, destroy or blow up pipelines in order to HUMBLE Nigeria’s economy according to THREATS made by the militant Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), now headed by a woman leader credited to be a top notch member of the group’s ELITE STRIKE FORCES which attacked and brought down the Chevron Valve Platform on 4th May, 2016, and the Shell Forcados 48-inch Export line on the 3rd of June, 2016, and the Exxon Mobil Qua Iboe 48 Crude Oil Pipeline on the 11th July, 2016!

DID PRESIDENT BUHARI STUDY THE PIB BEFORE APPENDING HIS SIGNATURE? 

Although the President thought he was very clever to score cheap political points by quickly assenting to the very controversial, defective, contentious and bungled Petroleum Industry Bill which history credited with 20 years journey from the first to the ninth National Assembly from ex-Olusegun Obasanjo, PDP 1999  to the current APC 2021   administrations, he has inadvertently exposed the fact that he did not thoroughly study the DOCUMENT before putting pen to paper having served as a Military Minister of Petroleum!

BUT in continuation of his belief that he was on the right track has set up a 8-man  Implementation Committee which OMITTED the Vice President, Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE),  will work for 12 months to actualize the smooth running the new Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), which WILL NOW provide adequate legal framework and enabling regulatory provisions for the otherwise mumbo-jumbo all-comers enterprise of several decades which had made multi billionaires of thousands of Nigerians; in the military and among the politicians of consecutive governments, including portfolio investors, private entrepreneurs, not excluding “hangers on”/political jobbers in the corridors of power!

THE “BUCK” STOPS AT THE PRESIDENT’S TABLE!

We are much aware that no amount of protests, criticisms, castigations, condemnations demands, ultimatums or free offer of solutions by patriotic citizens of this great nation ever had any positive impact on President Buhari and his selected CABAL, We need to inform him that, this PIA could be his ALBATROSS if he turned deaf ears to GENUINE DEMANDS of the Niger Delta Youths and continue to live the life of Emperor NERO of ROME, who dinned and wined when his country was on FIRE in 64 AD!

FACTS ON GROUND!

The oil-rich Niger Delta Region comprising of the South-South States of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, and Rivers, have been the most degraded and environmentally-abused and devastated – with much emphasis on the OGONI LAND of Rivers State which attracted United Nations intervention since 2015, but with nothing to show for it in 2021! QUESTION: Is the President aware that Crude Oil from this region provides up 75% of Nigeria’s export earnings and when combined with Natural Gas extractions, rose to 97% of the nation’s Foreign Exchange revenue annual budget input as the major FOREIGN EXCHANGE earner BUT that in spite of the meagre allocation of 13% revenue of taxes on oil  and other natural resources according to derivation formula to the region and other oil-producing States in South East/West, traumatized citizens of the region died daily of horrible environmental pollution of its worst type?

While We do not deny the fact that consecutive  Federal Government Administrations fulfilled regular constitutional deductions of the 13% Derivation formula, allocated special funds to the multi-faceted development programmes of the region through Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), to the tune of N9.43 trillion naira between 1999 to 2019, a period of 20 years, a lot still needed to be done through the new PIA , which should bring sanity to the Region!

However, the 30% of NNPC profits recommended by the new PIA to fund exploration activities in frontier basis is untenable, unworkable and very unrealistic for the very reason of this supposition that: If NNPC for some unexplainable but obvious reasons did not make profits at a particular season then, does it that translate to the fact that the said frontier basins would become grounded and comatose?

Another area of contention is the Host Communities Development funding demand of 5% in the Bill but now reduced to 3% in the assented Act! According to Clause 240 (2), the SETTLOR (i.e. operator of an oil licence), should pay 3% of total profits to Host Communities for development while operators MUST prevent environmental pollution and gas flaring BUT provide immediate remedial safety measures in case of unforeseen incidents!

The clamour for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) aka. “Nigerian Towers of Corruption”, to be UNBUNDLED, received attention in the new Act at last! Clause 53 has mandated the Minister of Petroleum, (by implication, Mr. President), to incorporate NNPC as a Limited Liability Company with 100% Federal Government share ownership NOT later than SIX MONTHS of coming into effect of the new Act for it to operate in accordance with the Companies and Allied Matters Act. (CAMA).   

IT IS GOOD NEWS THAT SOME LAWS ARE NOW IN PLACE TO REGULATE THE UPSTREAM, MIDSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM SECTORS OF THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY BUT OUR CANDID OPINION IS THAT CONTENTIOUS AREAS SHOULD BE FINE-TUNED DURING THE 12-MONTH PERIOD OF PREPARATION FOR IMPLEMENTATION!

THE OLD ORDER MUST NOW GIVE WAY TO THE NEW! 

Can the President who doubles as the Minister of Petroleum Resources unequivocally inform Nigerians and the international community the exact figure of oil being lifted from Nigeria per day? IS THERE ANY FORM OF METERING TO ENSURE TRANSPARENCY, PRUDENCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY AT THE DEPOTS ACCORDING TO INTERNATIONAL BEST PRACTICE?

Investigative journalism has revealed that from time immemorial, official lifting bays and volume of lifted crude oil was TOP SECRET to the presidency and so was the allocation/award by Mr. President of OIL LICENCE, OIL RIGS, OIL WELLS to very special individuals which had been the exclusive but unconstitutional right of the number one man who made billionaires of his chosen friends at his whim and caprice AS MINISTER OF PETROLEUM!

AND the creeks militants and their collaborators also resorted to lifting their own portion of crude, refine and sell them through bunkering to ready markets! It is on record that the Army, Naval, Police and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), operatives carried out several raids on identified illegal refineries in those terrains but no meaningful arrests nor successful prosecution of offenders could be fingered in all these past years! According to some reports, official collusion with the criminals changed the operation plan!

MILITANCY AT THE CREEKS FROM OBASANJO TO YAR ‘ARDUA!

Militancy was at its highest peak when the late President Umaru Yar ‘Adua assumed office in 2007, but he was quick to identify the solution through granting of a GENERAL AMNESTY in which all militant groups in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria “lay down” their arms in 2007 to save the economy which was almost grounded through co-ordinated pipe line vandalization!

NIGER DELTA YOUTHS SHOULD DIRECT THEIR ENERGY TO WINNING ELECTIONS AT ALL LEVELS IN 2023!

NIGERIA REMAINS INDIVISIBLE – BUHARI AND SECESSIONISTS WILL PASS AWAY!

Citizens’ opinions have never mattered in Nigeria! Majority of the people always had their SAY through criticisms while the minority politicians who claim to be peoples’ representatives in government always had their WAY!

For instance, between 2016 and 2021, a sum of N6.4 billion naira was officially spent on the Aso Villa Medical Centre (whereas other sources said it was over N13 billion naira), in those five years to cater for the medical needs of the President, Vice President, their family members and Very Important Personalities (VIPs), BUT incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari visits London at will on medical tourism and in spite of public criticisms continued to expend tax-payers monies with impunity!

He returned Saturday 14th August, 2021, after 18 days of that trip to London! President Buhari had travelled abroad EIGHT times for medical check-up in the past six years 2015-2021, on Awoof!

In a recent interview, Spokesman ‘Femi Adesina, disclosed that the Aso Villa Medical Centre was down-graded to the status of a “CLINIC” and that the President was better off being treated by his team of doctors of about 40 years who have handled his medical history! 

FIRST LADY CONDEMNS LACK OF X RAY MACHINE IN ASO CLINIC!

In 2017, First Lady, Aisha Buhari while on visit to the Aso Clinic, criticised its poor facilities in spite of the huge annual budgetary allocation to the Clinic and called for a probe of a combined N3.2Billion allocated to the facility for 2016 and 2017! 

That amount was reported to be higher than the combined allocation to all the tertiary healthcare centres in the country!

Also, according to that report, culled from Federal Government’s Budget Figures, State House Budget Figures, it was revealed that in the year 2016 when the Centre got the highest budget of N2.83 billion naira while all primary health institutions got a meagre allocation of only N250 billion naira the same year!

No probe was carried out, instead more and more funds was pumped into the facility on annual basis!

CAN THE PRESIDENT BE SUED TO REFUND ALL INCURRED MEDICAL BILL DISBURSED WITH IMPUNITY?

So far, no citizen, NGO nor Civil Society Organisation had gone to court to challenge the President’s medical tourism but in November 2020, the Senate queried Aso Villa over medical bills abroad and insisted that the President including top government officials should use the official State House Clinic!

IS THE PRESIDENT CONSTITUTIONAL ALLOWED TO SPEND THE CITIZENS’ MONEY ON MEDICAL TOURISM ABROAD?

We have it on good authority that the House of Representatives in 2017, also made an attempt to PROBE utilization of N10.98billion budgetary allocation in excess of N3billion in each of the years 2015; 2016; and 2017 as follows: N3.94bn; N3.87bn; and N3.2billion naira respectively which were voted for “upgrading and provision of necessary drugs and equipment” on the Aso Villa Centre!

All of the above died natural death since the legislators never went beyond mere rhetorics! 

BUHARI’S IMPUNITY POSTURE HAS GIVEN VENT TO THE FLAGRANT ABUSE OF THE OFFICE OF THE CITIZENS! 

If the Office of the Citizens [“We the People of the Federal Republic”], to whom sovereignty constitutionally belongs and through whom the Nigerian Government derives all its power and authority is being daily side-lined, trampled upon, dishonoured, disregarded, by President Buhari who said at his investiture in 2015 that: “I belong to nobody and I belong to everybody”, then, where is the hope of the common man?

AND now in collusion with his cabal now rule over the nation like his personal property in the matter of spending of PUBLIC FUNDS, without seeking anybody’s opinion or advice, and for this reason, persons like Nnamdi Kanu, Sunday Igboho, Professor  Akintoye, Elder Statesman Edwin Clark of PANDEF etc, now demand for a BREAK-UP of the country with brazen impunity!

Since President Buhari has decided to frivolously and recklessly spend whatever was left of the nation’s foreign and local reserves as he desired since 2015 and to even borrow from foreign countries without the citizens’ consent or input, then, he would have no moral latitude to harass or hound “secessionists”!

NIGERIA’S TOTAL PUBLIC DEBT BURDEN AS AT 31ST MARCH, 2021! 

The Debt Management Office (DMO), website states that Nigeria’s Public Debt Stock owed by the Federal Government, 36 States and the Federal Capital and   Territory (FCT), was N33.107trillion (about US$ 87.239. billion dollars), as at March 31, 2021, while External Debt Stock reduced from $USD 33.348 billion as at December, 2020, to $USD 32.86 billion because the country redeemed 500 million dollars Eurobond in January, 2021!

As usual the Federal Government is indebted with the lion’s share of domestic debt which includes FGN bonds, Sukuk and Green Bonds used to finance infrastructure and other capital projects including N940,220 billion Promissory Notes.

DO SECESSIONISTS HAVE NIGERIANS MANDATE?

Professor Stephen ‘Banji Akintoye, (86), Historian and a hard-liner against President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration since 2015, has decided to organize A-ONE-MILLION-MAN-MARCH  of Nigerians to demand for  a Yoruba nation from the  United Nation’s  General Assembly (UNGA), 76th Session holding in New York from 14th-21st September, 2021, to “demand a UN-SUPERVISED REFERENDUM on self-determination and abolition of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution” through the world body just like their Igbo counterpart!

The Octogenarian, who is the arrow-head of Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination (NINAS), said he would be joined in New York by other leaders from the South and Middle Belt regions!

Prof. Akintoye, who also doubles as the leader of the Yoruba Self-Determination Group known as “Ilana Omo Oodua”, has been identified with Sunday Igboho, now resisting an extradition order in Benin Republic, since his arrest on 19th July, 2021!

SELF-DETERMINATION OR SECESSION!

The principle of self-determination as prominently embodied in Article 1 of the Charter of the United Nations neither supports nor encourages secession,  break-up, separation, partition etc, which run contrary to constitutional provisions of individual country!

All peoples by the virtue of that Article have fundamental right to self-determination to freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development.

The Vienna Convention states that every treaty in force is legally binding upon the parties to it and must be performed by them in good faith provided such parties are fully committed!

Self-determination also includes the right of a people to decide upon its own political status or form of government, without outside influence!

AGF OFFICE MAY OUTLAW YORUBA NATION GROUP LIKE IPOB! 

 

The office of the Attorney General of the  Federation and Minister of Justice may be contemplating to outlaw the Yoruba Nation separatist group including the proscription of NINAS led by the erudite Professor Akintoye. According to fillers from the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Federal Government would explore all options “within the extent of the law” to ensure a peaceful Nigeria”.

President Buhari should tread softly because Nigeria had never had it so bad under any government since 1960, when the only language on lips of virtually all the 379 Ethnic Groups in Nigeria is the quest for SELF-DETERMINATION – due to the WORST kind of INSECURITY that his inept gang of corrupt politicians have failed to TAME in OVER SIX YEARS!

BUHARI AND HIS STRANGE BED FELLOWS ARE ON THEIR WAY OUT!

Let them “renovate” the National Assembly with N37billion naira, continue to PAD ANNUAL BUDGETS, inflate contract fees by 1,000%, purchase exotic limousines and SUVs in 2022 and 2023, PERSONALLY EXECUTE CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS, collect OUTRAGEOUS salaries, more than USA LEGISLATORS, Award and Share Federal Contracts among themselves every Wednesdays at Aso FEC Meeting, - their day of reckoning is at hand – and they will depart in DISGRACE! 

They have bitten the hands of the TALAKAWAS WHO HAVE FED THEM FAT ALL THESE YEARS AND WHOSE SHED BLOOD CRY AGAINST THEM DAY AND NIGHT BEFORE OUR CREATOR!

OIL/GAS/DIESEL STRUGGLE FOR SPACE IN NIGERIA!  

The coming on board in the next year of the US$12 billion dollars 650,000 barrels per day (bpd), of Dangote Integrated Refinery and Petrochemical Complex Lagos, would no doubt complement the dwindling fortunes of the Federal Government in the oil/gas sector, which had been badly affected by the effects of the Covid 19 Pandemic on international oil price which crashed to its lowest ebb in almost two years!

BUT should the citizens rejoice over this “industrial feat” when developed nations are moving speedily to embrace renewable energy through environmental-friendly and modern sources of wind turbine and solar photovoltaic (pv), cells which convert solar energy into electricity!

Are the adamant and stubborn oil prospectors of the Northern States elated when at any slight opportunity Niger Delta citizens always boasted of contributing the largest share to the nation’s foreign reserves and its resources to develop infrastructures in other parts of the country? 

And for all those claims, passionate northern leaders at the seat or corridors of power had been relentless with the obsession to continue the exploration of oil which was aggressively pursued in most Northern States throughout the 30-year military aberration in Nigeria with a view to confound those Southerners who believed that Niger Delta had monopoly of the God-given natural resource!

Some antagonists of the 1914 Amalgamation have claimed that the second coup-de-tat master-minded by the soldiers of the Northern extraction in July 1966, was a deliberate strategy to grab power at the centre with a view to elevate the region’s culture of civilization their region to a level which would be at par or very close to its Southern Siamese twin through massive oil exploration (if it were possible), in all Northern States!

It is a general belief that the CRUDE OIL endowment of the Southern States had in no small way contributed to its modern development – especially when the South-South indigenes kept drumming it down that they were “feeding the North with their oil money”!

Although it is a constitutional right through the Exclusive Legislative List that the Federal Government should control/disbursement of the proceeds from all Extraction/Exploration activities in any part of Nigeria (on-shore, off-shore), even when the bulk of crude oil is gotten in commercial quantity in the Niger Delta, was it not logical that the principle of derivation and resource control should have been applicable to the region? 

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT’S SUDDEN INVESTMENT IN DANGOTE’S REFINERY IS A SHOCKING SURPRISE!

AUGUST 4, 2021: (1) FEC approved $1.5 billion to rehabilitate Kaduna/Warri Refineries; (2)FG invests $2.76 billion in Dangote Refinery; (3) FG approves Acquisition of 20% minority stakes by NNPC in Dangote Petroleum and Petro-Chemical Refinery!  

NNPC Group Managing Director is already celebrating the Dangote debut as he claimed that with its 650,000 bpd and Nigeria’s 445,000 bdp combined refineries and other modular refineries, the nation would be at an advantage to supply petroleum products legitimately across Africa and other parts of the world!

The rational or wisdom behind the sudden FEC decisions which would still involve a lot of external borrowings at a time when the nation is neck deep in all manner budgetary debts is yet to be explained by government!

Historians were correct to have posited that Northern Nigeria since the geographical marriage still lagged behind in all areas of socio-economic developments because it focused more on Islamic rather than Western Education!

The jihad of the Fulani War in 1804 by Usman Dan Fodio, debuted the Sokoto Caliphate, North West, (1806-1906), and further heightened the resolve of the average Northerner to embrace Islamic studies,  capitalize in commercial activities including trade-by-barter with the neighboring countries of Benin, Chad, Cameroon, Niger not excluding North African countries of Sudan and Egypt in the Horn of Africa!

There was also the influence of Kanem and Bornu Empires of the North East (1810-1893), which encouraged trans-Saharan trade, firmly entrenched Islam and pilgrimages to Mecca were commonplace!

NATURAL MINERAL DEPOSITS FAVOR IGRs! 

BUT the good news is that outside of CRUDE OIL EXPLORATION all 36 States and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), are divinely favored with various mineral deposits that can be commercially harnessed for Internally Generated Revenues (IGRs)! 

Nigerian geologists have confirmed discovery of over 40 types of mineral resources and that at least THREE solid mineral types ranging from: Iron Ore, Gypsum, Talc, Lead, Zinc, Bitumen, Coal, Bentonite, Barite, Marble, Gold, Silver, to OIL & GAS, Granite, Lithium, Gemstones, Iron, Ore, Lead, Salt Tin, Limestone etc, can be harnessed in each State!

HOWEVER the current Oil Producing States (2021), are only 9 out of 36 – Abia (South East), Akwa Ibom (South-South), Bayelsa (South South), Delta, (South South), Imo (South East), Lagos (South West), Edo (South South), Ondo (South West), Rivers (South South). However, 80% of the total crude oil produced among the nine identified States flow from South South’s Akwa Ibom, (31.4%); Bayelsa (18.07%) Delta (21.56%) and Rivers (21.43%)!

OIL EXPLORATIONS IN THE NORTHERN STATES!      

As far back as the early 1970s, Military Administrations had engaged in crude oil exploration and had claimed success in the 1990s but not until October 2019 that NNPC officially came out boldly to confirm the discovery of hydrocarbon deposits in Kolmani River II Well on the Upper Benue Trough,  Gongola Basin, North East, which was flagged off by President Muhammadu Buhari, on 2nd February, 2019! According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC),  was engaged in the computation of hydrocarbon volume  and would in due course commence the drilling of  additional dwells to determine full evaluation of the hydrocarbon volume in the Gogola Basin.The Federal Government-owned News Agency also disclosed that the Gongola Basin discovery would attract foreign investment, generate employment for the people to earn income and increase government revenues.  

NIGERIA DISCOVERS ONE BILLION BARRELS OF CRUDE OIL IN THE NORTH EAST ZONE!A new discovery of crude oil in the North East totaling about One Billion barrels was announced on 12th February, 2020, Minister of State for Petroleum, at the close of that year’s Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS), held in Abuja, FCT.The Minister believed that with the evaluation of that kind of figure, the geological structure of the region portends that with more exploration a lot of oil still remained to be discovered in Nigeria. 

THE HEALTHY RIVALRY BETWEEN NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN NIGERIA TO INCREASE THE VOLUME OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION OF MORE REFINERIES IS AN ASSERTION THAT NIGERIANS WOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH FOSSIL EMISSION/ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION FOR DECADES TO COME!

HAS BUHARI FAILED TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE?

Organised agitations for political, economic and social restructuring of the Nigerian State has reached a crescendo! 

Vibrant and forceful advocacies for self-determination by federating units is no longer limited to geo-political zones but has cut across tribal divide which have in one voice pitched themselves against a tired and confused President Muhammadu Buhari, who seems to have lost grip to the infamous cabal stuck to him as  leach!

President Buhari’s unusual opportunity to govern Nigeria as a “democratic” politician was no doubt a divine intervention to rescue a nation on the precipice in 2015, having demonstrated a rare trait of INTEGRITY in his military days as the “ONLY SHEEP” among THE RAMPAGING WOLVES of BARRACK INVADERS between 1966-1999!

DID GOD MAKE A MISTAKE FOR GIVING BUHARI A SECOND TERM OPPORTUNITY? NO! 

The Word of God says, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil neither tempteth He any man.

“But everyman is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

“Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (James.1:12-15). 

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), opposition tried fruitlessly to criticise the All Progressives Congress (APC), Government for the past SIX years because they left behind horrible mess/stench of CORRUPTION in 16 years of consecutive maladministration which APC still claimed militated and limited them from fulfilling their major campaign manifesto declarations of ensuring 

Provision of adequate security;

Confronting and destroying corruption and 

Building up the economy to enhance the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), but the defeatist attitude of President Buhari from the onset had created a lacuna for delivering effective and righteous administration:

“I wish I were much younger to grapple with the rigours of presidency........but now at 72 .....,” he lamented! BUT yet another divine intervention put him into the saddle for the SECOND TERM in spite of all other political FORCES that ganged up against his bid for a Second Term in 2019, because the 2014 PROPHECY OF THE PROPHET OF GOD IN ZION 

THAT HE WOULD SERVE AN UNINTERRUPTED TWO TERMS IN OFFICE SUBSISTED!

QUESTION: ARE THE PEOPLE TIRED OF BUHARI’S  APC GOVERNMENT?

The cacophony of voices of dissent for secession, Nnamdi Kanu’s IPOB Biafra/Sunday Igboho’s Yoruba Nation, separatism, devolution of power from federal to federating states, total break-up, self-determination, self-governance, restructuring, constitutional amendments, drafting of a brand new Constitution, creation of additional State for the South-East geo-political zone, unicameral parliamentary legislature including the application of a  CITIZENS’ SPEAR-HEADED REFERENDUM to achieve all of the above NOT an indictment against the president and his party?

When will the untameable INSECURITY IN THE NATION END?

LATEST AGITATION FROM NIGER DELTA LEADERS FOR RESTRUCTURING AND NATIONAL DIALOGUE!

Elder Statesman and Ijaw Leader, Papa Edwin Clark (94), has lent his weight to a South-South Zonal Conference which is presently demanding that President Buhari should within THREE MONTHS “restructure the country and convene a national dialogue comprising  representatives of ethnic groups in order to chart a new course for Nigeria!”

In a communiqué issued Friday, 30th July, 2021, at the end of the conference held in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State Capital, where his address was read by a representative, the Conference restated the urgent need for restructuring and devolution of more powers to the States, condemned the oppressive/repressive tendencies against the Niger Delta Region citizens and warned the apex government from further selling out their resources to the CHINESE and other expatriates!

The group which embraces stakeholders from SIX States of the region threatened to commence process that would guarantee their freedom and progress, if the Federal Government failed to heed their demands at the end of the THREE-MONTH ultimatum to chart a new course for the country!

Niger Delta people are “the BREAD WINNERS of Nigeria and demand to be fairly treated with equity by the oppressive Nigerian State/insensitive political class to ensure peaceful co-existence.

Demand full control of their resource and put an end to further deprivation and despoliation of their environment in the last 60 years!

Demand that Governors of the South-South Region, set up security outfits/community-based defence forces in all LGAs to protect the ethnic nationalities from terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, land grabbers and other criminals.

Demand equal representation, control and headship of all relevant security and military organizations in the country and desire constitutional provision for the inalienable right to self-determination through a REFERENDUM in line with international laws!

NIGER DELTA YOUTHS/GOVERNORS REJECT PIB’S THREE PER CENT RECOMMENDATION FOR HOST COMMUNITIES TRUST FUND –DEMAND FIVE PER CENT!

The passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), on Thursday 1st of July, 2021, which was first introduced to the Sixth National Assembly (NASS), by late President Umar Yar’ Adua, (2008) and later to the Seventh NASS in 2012 but which failed to get concurrent passage from both chambers has finally got a controversial approval at the Ninth NASS in a journey of 13 years!

However there is a fresh controversy yet to be resolved in respect of the Draft PIB which recommended 2.5 % of the operating expenditure of the Settlor (operator of an oil licence), according to Clause 240 (1) to fund development of host communities in the oil producing areas. Although the Senate raised the figure to 3% and the House of Representatives Committee recommended 5%, the yet-to-be-signed Bill will still have to be harmonised at the Joint Committee of the NASS!

In summary, host communities stand to benefit immensely through tax exemption on designated payments and other packages of provisional incentives by each Setlor according to Clause 256 provided host communities prevented any form of vandalism, sabotage or civil unrest that could cause damage to petroleum/designated facilities or disruption to production activities within host communities!

NIGERIA’S INSECURITY ARE OF NORTHERN ORIGIN?  

Some critics have traced the multi-faceted and avalanche of insecurity spear-headed by Boko Haram remnants, now metamorphosed into splinter groups of bandits, kidnappers, gunmen, armed robbers etc. to the North which had ruled at the centre more than the South from independence but disagree because no State or Tribe has monopoly of brute force! Before the emergence of terrorist in the North there were the Niger Delta vandals who specialized in blowing up crude oil pipe lines!

WAS THE 1914 AMALGAMATION OF THE NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN PROTECTORATES A POLITICAL ERROR BY THE COLONIAL MASTERS?

It was not an error! The idea of marriage conceived and master-minded by the imperialist colonial masters was predicated on the doctrine of unity in diversification!

WAS GOVERNOR GENERAL LORD FREDERICK LUGARD A MONSTER OR DEVIL INCARNATE WHICH MASTER-MINDED AN UNHOLY UNION? No, no, no! He did what he did in good faith! The only error we noticed is that the Northern at some times were long-throated like when President Umar’ Yar Adua passed to eternity in 2010 and the North wanted to circumvent the Constitution and place another northerner to replace him instead of his Southern Vice! 

WERE THERE TREATIES OR DOCUMENTS OF AMALGAMATION?

Some historians believe that there were no international treaties, no agreements nor documents were employed in the transactions since they had administered both protectorates as their bona fide colonial territories since 1861! 

DID THE NATION OF NIGERIA SEIZE TO EXIST AFTER 2014 FOLLOWING THE EXPIRATION OF THE CENTURY-OLD AMALGAMATION TREATY?

The Nigerian nation remains an indivisible nation recognized as an independent republic by the United Nations and would never go the way of South Sudan which had been in turmoil since its severance from SUDAN in July 2011! 

FEDERALIZING THE POLITY THROUGH NATIONAL DIALOGUE OF NIGERIAN ETHNIC GROUPS!

Did President Buhari promise to organize a National Dialogue any time soon like his predecessor, Ebele Jonathan who convened a 2014 National Conference which has been discountenanced till date? If he did, it was not made official before he departed for London on Monday 26th July, 2021, for Global Education Summit/Medical Check-Up!

 Our advice is that as soon as he returns in the second week of August 2021, he should address all agitations according to their merits as quickly as possible and pacify all the aggrieved by supporting the call for A POPULAR REFERENDUM to determine legitimate demands as listed in our published in our 414th Edition of 18th July, 2021; pages 3-4; BUT not definitely inclusive of SECESSION!

GARBA SHEHU WAS DEAD RIGHT?

Any form of veiled reference by any person or group of persons to classify Nigeria’s unfortunate and intransigent insecurity challenges as religious conflict between Muslims and Christians is tantamount to incitement, divisiveness, self-serving/self-righteous assumption and an abuse to the sensibilities of advocates of one indivisible and inseparable Nigeria!

It is true that between the years 2011-2014, Boko Haram insurgents, an Islamic terrorists group, targeted and consistently bombed Christian religious places of worship churches/institutions and murdered their clerics/worshippers in cold blood with a view to provoking religious conflicts that would have spread like wild fire and destroy the very foundation of UNITY, which the founding Fathers birthed and nurtured in the First Republic before military interregnum and for the constitutional fact that Nigeria is a SECULAR STATE!

But the Christian doctrine which ascribes judgment of offenders and the wicked to the Almighty God, creator of the Earth, restricted all Nigerian Christians in general to refrain from embarking on self defence, and neither vengeance nor retaliation; but to depend on Him for their defence!

And suddenly in a U-TURN, they began to detonate bombs on Mosques, Islamic structures and killed several clerics as they demanded for an Islamic Caliphate to be carved out in the North East State of Borno, which was and still is their operational base!

BISHOP MATTHEW KUKAH SPEAKS OUT AGAIN! 

Catholic Bishop Matthew Kukah, domicile in the Muslim Caliphate State of Sokoto since his elevation to the headship of his Church’s Archdiocese in 2011 has been a fearless and very outspoken servant of the Most High God and consumed with the zeal/passion for the Word, commands great respect and admiration at home and abroad! His religious portfolio includes the duty of the ‘Watchman’ who MUST warn the people against wicked behaviour in order to save their lives because God has no pleasure in the death of SINNERS. (Ezekiel. 3: 17-21; 33:1-20)! 

Although Bishop Kukah was invited to participate in a progressing international conversation surrounding “acquired evidences on human rights abuses in Nigeria” he allegedly “castigated” Nigeria before the United States Congress in his Virtual Presentation, at the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, Washington, D.C. on 14th July, 2021, through his testimonies that the Buhari APC Administration was bent on destroying Nigeria’s fragile democracy through ethnic and religious lines!

During the Christmas yuletide in December 2020, the cleric in an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, made similar accusations against him in spite of the fact that they were both of the Northern extraction – Katsina and Kaduna States respectively!

SIX MONTHS OF CONTINUOUS MASSACRE IN KADUNA!

Bishop Kukah’s anguish could be traced to the escalated invasion of his North West State from January 2021 by killer herdsmen, bandits, Boko Haram terrorists, including jihadists and gunmen, who have jointly massacred “3,462 Nigerian Christians”, and hundreds of innocent residents according to newspaper reports, and the Human Rights Watch (HRW), without reprieve from either Federal/State Government, outside of the accustomed statements of condolences!

BUT GARBA SHEHU, THE PRESIDENT’S SPOKESMAN WOULD HAVE NOTHING OF THOSE RANTINGS!

Garba says Kukah should desist from sowing discord and strife among Nigerians. CORRECT!

He believed the Bishop’s opinions before the US Congress were personal. WRONG – They were Biblical.

Religious leaders have moral responsibility to stand up for the truth. CORRECT!

Individual ethnic group should not be negatively labelled before a foreign audience. CORRECT!

Bishop Kukah’s views/opinions were not shared by vast majority of Nigerians. WRONG!

Our multi-faceted challenges as a diverse nation should be harnessed for our greater advantage. CORRECT

But people like Kukah are sowing discord and strife among the citizens. WRONG, VERY WRONG!

Going by the history of the Church as is well known. It will stand up publicly for the truth. CORRECT, VERY CORRECT!

Garba says that the Bible is definitive on matters of ethnicity and racialism according to Romans. 2:9-10, and Galatians. 3:28; that trouble and distress awaited the wicked among Jew or Gentile and likewise that both were all one in Christ! VERY CORRECT!

10. Finally he said that “Whether Christian or Muslim, we stand by these beliefs and are steadfastly committed to them in governance.” DO YOU BELIEVE MR. GARBA SHEHU?

HISTORY OF INSECURITY IN NIGERIA FROM 1999!

It is true that President Buhari inherited insecurity among other LIABILITIES from 16 years of consecutive, terribly corrupt Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Administrations, BUT the ELECTORATE that voted him to power believed he would be the much-long-awaited MESSIAH because he was so DESPERATE to have contested in FOUR CONSECUTIVE ELECTIONS [2003, 2007, 2011 & 2015], TO CLINCH the highly exalted position!

However, the cliché that “to whom much is given, much is expected” is very applicable to the incumbent who in over SIX YEARS had caught the ire of the Office of The Citizens, due to increasing and unceasing acts of terrorism, banditry, armed Fulani herders/farmers deadly clashes, harassment/ kidnapping of adults of both genders, boarding school children in all 774 LGAs of the Six-Geo-Political Zones AND his FAILURE to apprehend the horrible situation! 

Under President Buhari’s watch, (especially since his disputed victory which ushered his second term in 2019), STRATEGIC government infrastructures [police stations/State headquarters, correctional (prison), facilities, army installations at both Federal and State levels], were being attacked and destroyed by insurgents/terrorists with unrestricted recklessness!

Now in its 12th year of insurrection, Boko Haram has teamed up with ISWAP, has acquired more sophisticated weapons which include, grenade/rocket launch attacks on rigid infrastructures, and a more dangerous dimension warfare weaponry of land-to-air missile attacks on government aircrafts!

It is on record that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in the last SIX MONTHS had lost not less than FOUR COMBAT AIRPLANES to gun attacks claimed to have been inflicted by the terrorists which also claimed the lives of at least 20 officers – including senior army personnel – the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 others!

The latest was the July 18th, 2021, attack on an Alpha Jet which crashed in Zamfara State, following intense firing from bandits – which was confirmed by the NAF spokesperson who also informed that the Pilot was lucky to bailout before the crash and escaped to a military formation for safety!

NOW THAT THE FIRST SET OF SIX  

Efforts of Security Agencies - the Armed Forces, Police, DSS, NIA, NSCDC, etc, have become infinitesimal because of inadequate strength, funding and equipment, due to glaring CORRUPTION/AGGRANDIZEMENT by some bad eggs within the Executive and the Legislative who are bent on satisfying their insatiable urge for slush funds which had taken a frightening dimension - the kind that had never been witnessed since 1999!

PRESENTLY in several Local Government Areas in the North East Bornu State, testimonies recorded from indigene farmers/residents and published on social network portals confirm that Boko Haram terrorists occupy and collect taxes from the dwellers to ensure their protection in spite of claims by the Governor and military authorities that government forces were in total control!

Nigerians are tired of sleepless days and nights due to incapability of retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari to defeat INSECURITY; they are tired of looking over their shoulders, are  suspicious of people around them who might be kidnappers for all they care, tired of Boko Haram terrorists, bandits, Fulani killer herdsmen, gunmen, highway robbers, human traffickers; TIRED of abject poverty and lack of simple basic amenities, WHILE SENATORS AND ALL POLITICIANS who claim to represent them dwell in AFFLUENCE and CITIZENS are jobless and lack basic necessities of life in the form of medical facilities, potable water, decent accommodation for their families, basic and qualitative education for their children, modern roads/highways etc, etc,!

NOW THAT THE FIRST SET OF SIX (OUT OF 12) SUPER TUCANO FIGHTER JETS PURCHASED FROM THE UNITED STATES ARRIVED (22ND JULY, 2021), IT BEHOVES ON THE MILITARY THINK-TANK TO  STRATEGIZE ON HOW TO BRING ALL FORMS OF TERRORISM TO AN END BEFORE SENDING THE BRAND-NEW, VERY COSTLY AND HIGHLY SOPHISTICATED AIRCRAFTS INTO  THE AIR!

 “ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.’’ (2Chron 7:14).
