THE ELECTORATE SHOULD GET WISER IN 2015 – NIGERIANS HAVE BEEN SHORT-CHANGED FOR TOO LONG! A culture that entrenches the rule of law, punishes impunity at all levelsofgovernance, embraces integrity and addresses potential causes of unethical behaviour in the society, is perhaps the best culture of ensuring sanity and peace in the business of politics! *The unfolding insecurity and theatres of war in most developing countries of the world, point in one direction that those who aspired to govern have woefully failed to keep covenant with the people in all areas of political economic and social contracts! *On their upward flight of aspiration into the political saddles of office, blueprints of manifestoes and ideologies are defended with passion to convince the electorate with a view of capturing their votes. Every democracy promises a State based on the principles of fundamental human rights and social justice. They always say that sovereignty belongs to the people (not GOD), from whom government derives all its powers and authority and that the SECURITY AND WELFARE of the people shall be the primary purpose of government! *But in spite of the massive advancement of information and technology of the 21st Century, almost all developing nations of the world have become under-developed and are in bondage of insecurity, poverty, diseases, malnutrition, hunger, strife and WAR which is ravaging the Middle East, North Africa, the entire African Continent, the Far East and Latin American countries! *NIGERIA, the most populous black African nation of over 170million citizens, has in 54years of “independence”, become one of the poorest, most under-developed and most corrupt nation of the world in spite of all economic tales of having attained the highest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Africa and adjudged the 26 most-economically-viable country of the world! * Most of the Nigerian politicians in government since 1999-2014, do not believe in the BENEVOLENCE of the Almighty and Sovereign GOD and that is why the nation now faces an austere instead of a buoyant economic atmosphere! “When Ngozi Iwealla championed the GDP propaganda, we told Nigerians that she was only justifying her pay packets and the truth is now open to the illiterate villagers through Divine intervention! *The truth is that Nigeria is a PRODIGAL nation which counts and devours its chickens, before they were hatched! *The unfolding acts of financial recklessness in the payment of salaries and allowances to political appointees, the award of contracts and the flagrant abuse of the appropriation of the FISCAL processes according to constitutional provisions as opposed to what obtains at the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings, where BILLIONS OF NAIRA WORTH OF CONTRACTS WERE REGULARLY AWARDED BY THE PRESIDENT AND HIS CABINET, in spite of all hues and cries against the illegality are issues in contention! *Oil Blocks were awarded to the accomplices of those in government since 1999 to date and in spite of Nigeria’s state of poverty, SOME NIGERIANS ARE RICHER THAN NIGERIA! *ORANSANYE COMMITTEE REPORT on how to curb and eliminate WASTAGES IN GOVERNMENT had long been discarded into the WASTE BIN because it violated the principles of the WASTERS IN THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT! *In the year 2014, the Federal Government of Nigeria in a bid to COVER-UP its prodigality declared that the country’s economy was on TRACK, but in this same year GOD brought down the MONO-PRODUCT CRUDE OIL ECONOMY ON ITS KNEES through the GLOBAL CRASH IN OIL PRICES that turned the GDP CLAIM INTO A PACK OF BLATANT LIES! *We watched on television how the Finance Minister tried unconvincingly, in spite of her academic laurels, to prove that Nigeria’s economy would remain stable if the OIL PRICE DROPPED TO $25 US dollars per barrel! *HOW DOES SHE PLAN TO ACHIEVE SUCH STABILITY? (1). She plans to suggest retrenchment of workers; but the LABOUR FORCE is already aware of that move and are ready to resist. (2). She plans to intimidate Mr. President to totally remove “SUBSIDY” FROM ALL PETROLEUM PRODUCTS, even though global markets forces should have brought the present pump price of N.97.00 Naira of PETROL, down to between N40.00 and N35.00! (3). Ngozi plans to continue to pay the jumbo salaries and allowances of the Federal Cabinet, Ministries Departments and Agencies, [MDAs], from whatever was left of the illegal “EXCESS CRUDE ACCOUNT,” which has been depleted through the insistence of “powerful” State Governors, who never bothered to boost their INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUES (IGRs)! (4). She also says that government would increase tax payments and enforce the tax compliant attitude of the RICH AND WEALTHY CITIZEN, who are the worst tax evaders in all developing nations, to cushion the effect of the austere period for as long as it would last! *The Naira is already devalued from N155 to N168,as against one American dollar, not by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), as they want you to believe, but by the International Monetary Fund, (IMF), a subsidiary of the World Bank, which God used to debunk Ngozi’s theory of Nigeria’s buoyant GDP and a “stable” Nigerian economy! *The effects of devaluation is already biting the same poor masses from whom all the labour that produces the nation’s wealth are procured as they now pay more for goods and services without any increase in their incomes! *Nigerians need to have a better understanding of the attitude of the present ruling political class which runs counter to the purposive plans of God, who says to His children: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you…. thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”[Jeremiah.29:11]. *The 2015 Budget Estimate of N4.74trillion, which is part of Federal Government’s Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper [MTEF & FSP], covering 2014, 2015 and 2016 fiscal periods, has not seen the light of the day as at 14 December, 2014, because all of the micro-economic frameworks that would have indicated, fiscal targets, estimates, revenues and expenditure including government’s financial obligations, even in the medium term, have fallen like a pack of cards on a sinking sand! *We are in this predicament because some of the present custodians of Nigeria’s COMMON WEALTH since 1999, swore to an oath to outwit the MILITARY, (who robbed the nation with the barrels of guns, for about 30 years), in the embezzlement agenda with brazen IMPUNITY and have, this time around, have adopted the CAPITALIST STRATEGY, which allows for unbridled accumulation of wealth, instead of a SOCIALIST approach, which would have developed the nascent democratic experiment in favour of the masses! *COMMUNIST/SOCIALIST CHINA is today regarded as the largest global economy outside of the United States of America, because this most populous world nation DOES NOT CONDONE IMPUNITY IN ANY FORM! On Wednesday 10 December, 2014, a Chinese judge jailed for life, the ministerial-level former deputy Head of the National Development and Reform COMMISSION (NDRC), over a bribery scandal that exposed graft at its highest levels of China’s Government! *LIU TIENAN (60), who was charged with his son, Liu Decheng, for obtaining bribes to the tune of 35.6million Yuan($5.74million US dollars), from various companies, was the first ministerial-level official to face an investigation after XI JIMPING, became Communist Party Head in late 2012, when he launched a most aggressive anti-graft campaign China had seen in decades! * Xi Jimping described corrupt officials and their cronies in government as high-ranking “tigers” and low-ranking “flies”, in a pervasive problem, which he said could threaten the Chinese Communist Party Rule. * Most political analysts believe that Xi’s campaign against corruption was geared towards removing his opponents while others said it was necessary to weed out all impediments standing in the way of his implementation of Economic Reforms! *In our editorial opinion, we believe that the fight against corruption with impunity must be fought and won by the determined Head and Management Team of any serious administration which vows to protect the overall interests of the poor masses! * The lesson to be learnt here is that the accused official did not waste the time of the court because he pleaded guilty to extensive bribery involvement, broke down in tears of a very painful state of remorse and said, “Every inquiry and every word has, in fact been like a whip beating my soul!” *We need GOD to raise Leaders like XI JIMPING in this nation to come with CLEAN HANDS UNTO EQUITY in 2015 and clear out all the LIU TIENANS of the AUGEAN STABLES OF NIGERIA INTO THE PRISONS FOR LIFE! *While CHINA is still busy, launching series of probes into the ENERGY SECTOR that has brought down senior officials in the NATIONAL ENERGY ADMINISTRATION AND THE STATE-OWNED, CHINA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION, the Nigerian ruling class is busy gathering together PARTY EX-CONVICTS, and all who are on trial for various offences ranging from bribery, corruption, embezzlement of government funds, money launderers, to crude oil and petroleum subsidy thieves, including “ex-militants” who are still threatening the unity of this nation and an ex- minister whose 42-count criminal charges of stealing was reduced to TWO, to continue the looting in 2015; but this plot would not materialize in Jesus Christ’s name! Amen. *Nigeria’s crude oil corruption has become a jig-saw puzzle that baffles all right – thinking citizens because the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Matters Commission, [ICPC], which should at least regularly investigate the industry, were deliberately and financially muzzled by government and turned into TOOTHLESS BULLDOGS! * The incumbent Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dizeani Allison Madueke, was alleged to have spent N20billion naira within a three-year period to charter aircraft for “official duties”, but has refused summons by the House of Representatives, to confirm or deny but has instead gone to court to stop the House from probing the allegations! *There is also a pending probe set up by the Finance Minister to unravel the missing $20billion US dollars crude oil sales which was allegedly unremitted into the Federation Account by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, [NNPC], between March-June, 2014 and no government official has been sanctioned! *All of the above FACTS are published for the ELECTORATE’S assessment of a government that wants to continue in office at all cost… these FACTS are indisputable and incontestable! Your vote is your power to send other “criminals”, hiding under the leaking umbrella out of government into the prisons where they actually belong! *THE IMPENDING JUDGEMENT IS BEYOND Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 15-year –old government influence or PDP JUDGES VERDICTS: this JUDGMENT is that of the Almighty and Sovereign GOD who cannot be bribed, intimidated or harassed by HOODED security and secret agents of this wicked administration! *There was a Biblical JEHU, ( 11 King of Israel, 2Kings.9:1-10:36), whom God anointed to destroy all the corruption and idolatry in ISRAEL during a time of apostasy that had over the years characterized the nation which then became odious and abominable before God and among the comity of nations – just like Nigeria! *This is the biblical account of JEHU’S mission as God’s reformer to the land of Israel: “Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee King over the people of the LORD, even over Israel. “And thou shalt smite the house of A’hab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD at the hand of Jez’e-bel. “For the house of A’hab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel. “And I will make the house of A’hab like the house of Jer-o-bo’am the son of Nebat and like the house of Ba’a-sha the son of A-hi’jah. “And the dogs shall eat Jez’e-bel in the portion of Jez’re-el, and there shall be none to bury her.”[2Kings.9: 6b -10]. *The GOD whom these corrupt Nigerian politicians despise is THE ONE WHO SENT JEHU TO CLEANSE ISRAEL AT THE APPOINTED TIME! *He is set to send another JEHU – this time around to NIGERIA! He that has an ear, let him hear what the SPIRIT IS TELLING THE CHURCH! Amen. THOSE 50 FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBERS ON THE LOOSE MUST BE ARRESTED! A female Boko Haram suicide-bomber, arrested during the week, revealed that 50 members of her group have been commissioned to kill at least 100.000 people in Nigeria before December 31, 2014 ! The first female suicide bomber introduced into the war was a woman, who last year, rode a motor bike to a military check point in Bornu State and detonated the Improvised Explosive Device [IED], laced beneath her Hijab on interrogation by a lone soldier with whom she died! About three months ago, girls suicide bombers were introduced into the Kano metropolis and the nation was gripped with the fear of a possibility of insurgents deploying our Chibok Girls on such missions! God forbid! It is very urgent that all our security apparatuses be harnessed to fish out these new set of female bombers, before Nigeria is turned into a tinder box! The Prophets and patriotic Nigerians cried to the LORD in prayers when the first Boko Haram bomb was detonated in Maiduguri in 2010, but divine intervention seemed unnoticeable, even in December 2014, because activities of the OCCULT AND VODOO LEADERSHIP that permeate the spiritual space of the nation are creating obstructions to answered prayers! The WORD says, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.[Romans.6:1-2a]. Of course, our prayers were answered at the very first attempts, but it takes HONOUR AND INTEGRITY TO GAIN GOD’S CONFIDENCE, FAVOUR AND GRACE. At the demise of President Umaru Musa Yar Ardua, the joint-ticket succession constitutionally fell on his vice, an unpopular choice among the Northern elites who vehemently opposed Southern candidacy! Though the Nigerian Constitution allows for two-term tenure for presidents and governors, it did not stipulate two consecutive terms. The Northern caucus within the ruling party demanded that their candidate should be installed president in 2011, or make Nigeria ungovernable on the contrary and political analysts believed that if President Jonathan had been tactful in handling the very explosive situation on coming to power, Boko Haram could have been nipped in the bud. *First, he was expected to have pacified all oppositions and convince them of his good intentions to spend just the remaining FOUR YEARS OF THE JOINT TICKET WITH PRESIDENT YAR ARDUA. *Second, he should have taken those open threats very seriously and sought measures to ameliorate the issues involved especially that of the Party’s standing agreement on rotational presidency between the two divides, North and South! *Third, he could have foreseen the religious dimension to the entire issue and which has always been the most dangerous of them all! *The late Maitatsine, a very controversial Muslim cleric, left behind a small cell of adherents, which eventually metamorphosed into what is now Boko Haram. This cell made its debut when President Jonathan emerged to complete the later part of the 2007-2011 joint ticket! *Maitatsine and the new small cell headed by Mohammed Yusuf, had no political motives, but could be ready tools in the hands of wicked and greedy politicians which was exactly the outcome of the union between this strange religious cell and Jonathan’s sworn opponents! *The “die was cast”, when Mohammed was captured on a secret camera, being brutally murdered in an extra-judicial killing by security operatives and his disciples vowed to avenge the death of their leader in every possible manner- especially when the culprits were not punished for the dastard crime. * Northern Opposition to Jonathan’s FRESH TERM BID in 2011 swung into action, provided all necessary logistics support of military weapons, arms ammunition, vehicles and funds for this once very bitter local militia and have succeeded in turning them into the FRANKENSTEIN MONSTERS! *Although Jonathan, backed by money-mongers, political jobbers and charlatans, “won” the election, and was “clever” to promise that he would spend just FOUR YEARS and disappear in 2015, he still remained very unpopular among the Northern Opposition and the Boko Haram, who escalated their killings and bombings since his investiture till date! *Why should Jonathan “add insult to injury”, by reneging on his promise to serve for FOUR YEARS [2011-2015], in spite of his famous declaration: “MY AMBITION TO BECOME PRESIDENT IS NOT WORTH THE BLOOD OF ANY NIGERIAN.” Rivers of blood are still flowing, refugees are increasing by the day, but the LEADERS/POLITICIANS are poised to move into 2015 with their selfish business of making money and more blood money, as usual! All political constituencies and districts across the nation, are flooded with, PYRAMIDS OF BAGS OF RICE, ASSORTED FOOD ITEMS, MOTOR CYCLES, SEWING AND GRINDING MACHINES, MOTOR CARS, FISHING NETS AND BOATS ETC, INCLUDING CASH GIFTS, as BRIBES TO GREASE THE PALMS OF THE ELECTORATE FOR THEIR VOTES IN 2015! In fact, the Peoples’ Democratic Party, [PDP], Government had just appropriated a whooping sum of N9.4billion to purchase COOKING STOVES FOR RURAL WOMEN, who have no access to KEROSINE at N50 per litre! *Nigerian politicians now talk less about the insurgency, the refugees, the Chibok Girls, the thousands of bereaved families, the pains, agonies and trauma forced upon the psyche of the entire Nigerian populace. They are busy spending the accumulated funds from a SQUANDERMANIA NIGERIAN PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT, which allows politicians become instant millionaires, within few months of election through JUMBO PAY PACKETS AND ALLOWANCES! *Which Nigerian has not been affected or afflicted by the Boko Haram atrocities, except these politicians with the hearts of stone? Which family has not lost their loved ones to Boko Haram shootings, killings, bombings and arsons, in the past five years? *We are conversant with their guerrilla warfare tactics of the terrorist to strike at will wherever they chose with their three known CELLS, with reckless abandon. *At times, they don Nigerian Army uniforms to deceive and destroy sensitive and critical government infrastructures to the consternation of military experts who mope helplessly and unable to repel their onslaught. *The Emir of Kano has urged Nigerians to defend themselves in all constitutional manner possible, shortly after the recent Kano Mosque bombing of 28 November, 2014, in which over 200 lives were lost, but we read frustration into this statement of a man totally bereft of any other meaningful solution to the entire grieving events. Much as we love to agree that people should not be left unprotected, self-protection by citizens will only invite ANACHY! But we know of a VERY SIMPLE SOLUTION that would stem the bloodshed of Nigerians which is still flowing like that of ABEL! *President Jonathan should keep his promise made to Nigerians in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on January 31, 2011, as follows: “I WOULD HAVE LOVED THAT NIGERIANS IN THE DIASPORA VOTE THIS YEAR. BUT TO BE FRANK WITH YOU, THAT IS GOING TO BE DIFFICULT NOW…..NIGERIANS IN THE DIASPORA WILL NOT VOTE, BUT I WILL WORK TOWARDS IT BY 2015, EVEN THOUGH, I WILL NOT BE RUNNING FOR ELECTION.” *What President Jonathan needed do now if he loves Nigerians as he has always declared, is to WITHDRAW FROM THE RACE NOW AND GIVE ROOM FOR A NORTHERN CANDIDATE! *That should not be a difficult decision to make for our patriotic president who also must be tired of these rivers of blood which have been flowing without ceasing since his advent at the Federal level! *SECONDLY, THE SECURITY MEN WHO MURDERED LATE BOKO HARAM LEADER, MOHAMMED YUSUF, MUST BE SPEEDILY BROUGHT TO JUSTICE! It is an open secret that the trial of the security men was very reluctant and late in coming and since their arraignment, it has been one adjournment too many! *THIRDLY, PATRIOTIC NIGERIANS MUST COME TOGETHER EN-MASS IN 2015 TO VOTE OUT THESE VODOO BLOOD-SUCKER POLITICAL LEADERS WHO FORGET THAT THE GOD’S JUDGEMENT IS CLOSER TO THEM THAN THEY COULD EVER IMAGINE! * Retired General Yakubu Gowon, has lent his voice to boost the dwindling morale of our soldiers by urging them to retrieve their hard-earned global honour by reversing lapses into victories, negative opinions into positives and improve on their record of professionalism and competency, at the 2014 Chief of Staff Annual Conference, at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, held on 2 December. *The elder statesman has said well but if Mr. President who is the incumbent Commander-In-Chief can exibit greater courage, honour and integrity by keeping his own freewill Addis Ababa promise of 31 January 2011, definitely peace, calm, serenity and tranquillity, will descend upon Nigeria for a long time to come in Jesus Christ’s name. *Juvenal, a Roman Poet and Satire, says: “Count it the greatest sin to prefer mere existence to honour, and for the sake of life to lose the reasons for living”. *A WORD SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR THE WISE AND THE HONOURABLE! NGOZI IWEALLA’S ERMINE COAT MUST REMAIN PURE AND SPOTLESS! “Be not deceived; evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness and sin not, for some have not the knowledge of God…” [1Corinthians.15:33-34]. The WORD also says, “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness?”[Romans. 6:16]. * Ngozi is one personality that we of this editorial board had watched very closely and with keen interest since she dabbled into accepting political appointment in 2003, because of her impeccable family and intellectual pedigree. Prior to her ministerial job as Minister of Finance, Ngozi who we perceive, dons a spotless ERMINE FUR COAT, was Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the World Bank Group, but left that plum job as a die-hard patriot, but her patriotic zeal is now being soiled in her second appointment since 2011! *THE ERMINE, a little animal which roams the forest of Asia, is inordinately proud of his beautiful snowy coat and not lose it to poachers – even at the point of death. The Ermine’s fur is the most beautiful to be found in all the markets of the world and is worn as Judges Robes, and also, society and distinguished leaders. *To acquire this most cherished and quality fur, the poachers always played dirty with the proud little animal by SMEARING the entrance of its hole in the trunk of trees or in the rocks, with very dirty mud and bad smelling mixtures and then pursue the poor animal towards its hole where it would with sharp instinct turn back and face death instead of smearing its lovely snowy fur coat! *Signs and lying wonders have taken over the centre stage of Nigeria’s economic landscape since global crude oil price plummeted downwards! *On the 20 of October, 2014, at a Ministerial Platform following the Media’s first exposure that Nigeria was broke because of its dwindling revenue from the only mono-product, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the economy Ngozi Iwealla, affirmed that Nigeria’s economy was growing positively in spite of the reduction of the oil price in the international market! In the last three months, (September-November), oil price crashed from $100 US Dollars to about $73.5, per barrel and there is global glut which has forced Saudi Arabia – a leading oil producer -to desperately search for buyers because of declining revenue from crude oil precipitated through organized campaigns against gas emissions, atmospheric pollution and market saturation! Many advanced nations are shifting from crude oil to embrace alternative renewable and sustainable energy sources! *The Minister swallowed her pride on the 25 November, 2014 and consequently announced that Nigeria was actually broke and that stringent monetary measures would be embarked on to save the economy. *Shortly after, Central Bank of Nigeria’s Committee on Devaluation and Raising of Key Rates, devalued the Naira currency to an all-time low against the Dollar at N155 -N168. The policy decisions, the Committee said, were meant to save the economy from a precarious situation of a sliding naira and excess banking sector liquidity. The Committee also said that several factors contributed to the pressure on the Naira – the most important of which was, “the declining revenue from crude oil,” adding, “our source of revenue in this country’s just oil and when oil price declined by about 25per cent in the last one month, we expected there would be pressure on the foreign reserves…… bank loans move away from the productive sectors of the economy to importers of consumable goods which is counter- productive to the economy.” *The Committee then advised Nigerians to patronize locally-made goods and services because importation of foreign consumable goods put pressure on the Naira.” *Why should Nigeria, blessed with the MONEY-SPINNING NATURAL CRUDE OIL IN 46 YEARS SUDDENLY BECOME BROKE, considering the fact that this product has been its major mono-product economic foreign exchange earner? *Several factors have to be analyzed to establish the prevailing or remote reasons that could precipitate such a calamity because crude oil earnings should boost living conditions of the citizens and not ruin their lives! *The starting point should be for leaders to divinely submit to the Holy Spirit who would generate the LOVE AND FEAR OF GOD, in their hearts and also guide them with wisdom for righteous governance! *Second, appointments of effective Social, Security and Economic Management Teams to run ministries, departments and agencies; must be divinely handled and, *Third, leaders should establish a faithful, truthful and determined political will to fulfil the SOCIAL CONTRACT with citizens. *But it is most unfortunate that Nigeria’s score in all of the above is a very BIG ZERO because LYING LIPS hold sway in the country! *Do you know that America - Nigeria’s biggest crude oil customer - stopped purchasing our crude since 2013 because of government’s reckless assault on the common wealth and the deliberate neglect of the poor masses and massive acts of corruption with impunity as re-echoed this week by former President Olusegun Obasanjo – an authority on this subject, which escalated during his twin-tenure – 1999-2007? *Do you know that President Barak Obama avoided visiting Nigeria because of the politicians’ competitive and ravenous raid on the nation’s coffers coupled with the disdain for the RULE OF LAW by those in positions of authority? *Do you know that they, (United States), deliberately refused to support Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram terrorists for all of the above reasons? *In view of this dilemma, Nigerians will now be forced to face the under-listed multiplier effects of economic challenges on the larger majority? (1)First, these citizens of 170million people, minus [TWO MILLION ELITIST GANG WHO MONOPOLIZE ALL IMPORTED CONSUMABLE GOODS] – would be forced to re-adjust to another era of AUSTERE LIVING CONDITIONS, worse than what obtains presently! *Would it surprise you that the Finance Minister, was quick to suggest that Nigerians should be ready to “tighten their belts” over the economic lapses of her insensitive government? *Presently, majority of the sprawling masses hardly made ‘two daily meals’ but from Tuesday, November, 25th, 2014, when the Minister reeled out some austerity measures, they may have it worse! *Citizens will pay more for goods and services, more on Personal Income Taxes, Value Added Taxes, Electricity Bills, Petroleum Products, (petrol, kerosene, diesel and lubricating oils etc.), Transportation, Drivers and Vehicle Plates Licences, National passports etc.! The office of the Finance Minister in every government institution is an exalted position, next to that of the President! It is no wonder therefore that Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iwealla, was dubbed by the media as, the “Prime Minister” of Nigeria! Since fiscal accountability is the barometer that ensures the success of administrations, public or private, it is imperative that the most suitable and qualified candidate is appointed. Ngozi, a globally renowned economist, was first appointed to this post by former President Olusegun Obasanjo on 15 July, 2003, but resigned when re-assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 3 August 2006, under a very shrouded circumstance! During her first tenure, in October 2005, she led a the Nigerian team that struck a deal with the PARIS CLUB – a group of bilateral creditors to pay a portion of Nigeria’s External Debts of $12 billion US Dollars, in return for an $18 Billion debt write off! Prior to this feat, Nigeria paid $1 Billion, annually fo service the debt! *She also introduced the practice of publishing each state’s monthly financial allocation from the Federal Government to ensure transparency and probity in government! There are so many other laudable achievements of this outstanding woman in government. The incumbent President re-appointed her in 2011 to fill the same portfolio and in the last three years has tried unsuccessfully to curb the financial recklessness of Jonathan’s administration which spends not less than 74 per cent of national budgets on recurrent expenditures and a paltry 26 per cent on capital projects that should impact more positively on the masses who are the most important key-players in revenue generation! *But this Amazon, who has a proven track record an impeccable character and an international reputation, has failed the Nigerian masses on her second advent by inventing economic figures to confuse the economic chaos that the country’s revenue scenario represents! An English idiom states: “You can fool some of the people for some of the time but you cannot fool all of the people, all of the time!” And the Word of God states: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people!” [Proverbs.14:34]. *In trying to fool Nigerians, at that Ministerial Platform on 20 October, 2014, Ngozi said government depended on a number of streams of incomes, like collection of taxes from companies, individuals and also marketing the crude oil at whatever price, a buyer was willing to pay adding that government was during everything to ensure stability in the economy by budgeting below the existing oil price to build buffers in case of uncertainty! However at the week-end she blamed “very powerful Governors” for the depleting figures of the “illegal” EXCESS CRUDE ACCOUNT, which they insisted must be shared to States, to augment their Internally Generated Revenues (IGRs). She also said that government was still able to pay salaries, because the economy was being diversified and the management of fiscal deficit was being kept as narrow as possible. Other information disclosed was that (1)… in 2013, Nigeria’s debt portfolio when compared to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), ratio was 1.4 per cent and in 2014, 1.03 per cent but was being projected to be 1 per cent in the 2015 Budget; (2) borrowing had been on the decline and external debt stood at N1.46 trillion or 14 per cent of total debt; and (3) …that Nigeria’s debt to GDP, remained one of the lowest in the world because of prudency to debt management! ALL OF THE ABOVE WERE SAID 40 DAYS AGO AND AS TODAY 30 NOVEMBER 2014, IT IS A NEW TALE BECAUSE POWERFUL GOVERNORS NOW CONTROL THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND NIGERIA’S ECONOMY! *They have forced Jonathan into the throats of all Peoples’ Democratic Party [PDP] members, to run for another presidency election in 2015, in exchange for automatic second terms and Senate positions for those retiring! *They also barred serving Senators from their respective States from returning to the red chambers in 2015! *Retiring governors were also demanding that their respective States provide them with very juicy benefits which include exotic mansions in the Federal Capital Territory, at least N300million bulk gratuity, three state-of-the-art Special Utility Vehicles (SUVs), security guards, gardeners and house helps etc. *However Ngozi MUST NOT LOSE HER FOCUS, she is one of the few that God can use to salvage this sinking nation from economic suicide BUT SHE MUST NOT SOIL HER SPOTLESS ERMINE COAT, IF NEED BE, SHE MUST BOW OUT WITH INTEGRITY! Amen. The 2015 General Election is knocking at the door! (John.8:32). “ARE WE CREATED BY THE SAME GOD AS THESE NIGERIAN POLITICIANS”? Has God rejected Nigeria? By no means! In spite of the negative predictions of the Western World of a possible fragmentation of our Great Nation, we remain indivisible because God says so! “WHO IS HE THAT SAITH, AND IT COME TO PASS, WHEN THE LORD COMMANDETH IT NOT?” [Lamentation.3:37]. In all universal Dispensations of Man, God always kept a FAITHFUL REMNANT according to election by grace, to serve Him. In the Dispensation of Conscience or Moral Responsibility, Enoch walked with God and he was no more, for God took him; of Human Government, Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD and he and his household (only eight people), were saved from the flood that swept off the entire evil people of old; of the Dispensation of Promise, an uncircumcised Abraham was justified by faith and became the righteous friend of God; of the Dispensation of Law; Moses was God’s good vessel to deliver the Jews from the 430 years of Egyptian bondage, while Joshua, his deputy, routed all opposing forces to domicile the children of Israel in the Promised Land flowing with milk and honey.[Genesis.3:7; 8:15; 12:1; 19:1]. A dispensation is a period of time during which man is tested in respect to his obedience to some specific revelation of the Will of GOD! *Despite the widespread apostasy of every dispensation, there was always a faithful remnant whose choice was by Gods grace and not their good works. During the earthly ministry of Prophet Elijah, he appealed to God against Israel: “LORD, they have killed your prophets and turned down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me!” But God answered, “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”[Romans.11:3-4]. So too in this Dispensation of Grace at the present time in Nigeria, in spite of the legacies of bad governance which gave birth to insurgency and terrorism, destruction of lives and properties of all categories of innocent citizens, there is still a remnant divinely chosen to salvage for God, whatever dignity is left of this nation! It is possible for a person to conceal spiritual or physical challenges of various forms of emotions, but he would not be capable to hide character, -good or evil! In a normal condition, character should be distinctive, positive, strong, reputable and indelible! Universal character must be predicated on the biblical “Fruit of the Spirit” - Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Meekness and Self-control.[Galatians.5:22-23]. *THURSDAY 20 November 2014, will go down in the annals of the history of Nigeria as, “DAY OF THE MARKET NAKED DANCE OF POLITICAL RASCALS AT THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY”! The show of shame between the armed Federal Executive and the unarmed Federal Legislature which went viral on internet was the latest Nollywood chartbuster movie on HOW NOT to enforce constitutional provisions against party defection on the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives[HOR]! Act I, Scene I: Armed men of Commander-In-Chief barricaded all gates (except one), leading to the National Assembly with his security details in order to “prevent some hoodlums” from gaining entry. (He acted on earlier “intelligence report”). Act. I, Scene 2: The unarmed Hon. Speaker and legislators arrived the only access gate in a convoy of vehicles but disembarked and forced their way into the complex because of security barriers. Act 2, Scene I: Armed executives fired tears gas canisters to prevent Hon. Speaker and entourage from progressing but to no avail! Act 2, Scene 2: The determined team scaled all huddles on the way and bulldozed their way into the “Hallowed Chambers”, where signatures of about 122 legislators were gathered to begin an IMPEACHMENT PROCESS AGAINST MR. PRESIDENT who heads the Federal Executive! Act 3, Scene I: Chairman of National Assembly (who was assaulted by a legislator), ordered closure of complex until Tuesday 25 November, 2014, to calm frayed nerves! OF WHAT SPIRITUAL MOULD ARE THESE 21 CENTURY POLITICIANS MADE? *It is pertinent at this juncture to expose the genesis of the entire fracas which we reliably gathered, stemmed from a presidential letter addressed to the Hon Speaker for an extension of the state of emergency in the three North East State. *The House which adjourned till 3 December, 2014, at its last plenary,( 28 October, 2014, the same day Hon. Speaker defected from ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party(PDP) to the opposition’s All Progressive Congress (APC), reconvened to consider Mr. President’s request. *In order to avoid an “ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE” OF IMPEACHMENT WHICH LOOMED OVER HIS HEAD, the Hon. Speaker moved with well-calculated precision to beat PDP to their game! *In the eyes of the law, the incumbent Hon. Speaker remains the ‘bona fide’ (legitimate), principal officer of HOR! *In a Presidential system, the Executive is the organ of government whose duty is to carry out government decisions and also to enforce the laws while the Legislature’s responsibility include, but not limited to, making laws for the country, amendments of constitution, budget and election and approval of appointments, ratification of treaties and power to impeach the president! The Judiciary which is the third arm of government is responsible for the interpretation of laws, and the trial of cases involving individual citizens, organisations and the State. It also ensures obedience to the law and gives judgments as appropriate in respect of any case brought before it. Among the merits of a presidential system is the provision for clear separation of powers among the three organs of government to prevent the misuse of State power. But the political scenario in Nigeria over the years is patterned in the form of an AUTOCRATIC EXECUTIVE which bullies the legislative and Judiciary into submission and is ever-determined to resist any complaint or opposition to its authority! Nigeria’s executive organs in all 36 States disobey court orders, rulings or judgments with the impunity of inherited military hang-over mentality! As at today, 23 November, 2014, there are conflicts virtually in all states of the federation, between all the executives and their legislative counterparts, and the former are always gaining the upper hand! Unconstitutional party defections and criss-cross have become a norm in Nigeria’s political process with no eye brow raised if such favoured the ruling party but on the contrary, the defaulter must be whipped into line! THURSDAY’S shameful exhibition of lawlessness by politicians of both the executive and legislature which has attracted hundreds of global comments criticisms, for and against is condemnable and despicable. However, the gospel truth is that two wrong attitudes can never be considered right, no matter how many Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN’s), argue this case in question. *We consider it our sacred duty to all governments and our fellow law-abiding citizens of the world to present political, social and economic issues of our nations in their TRUE PERSPECTIVES, as we are led by the Spirit of God, to enable the electorate make positive decisions at elections! *The number one Fruit of the Spirit is love and GOD IS LOVE! The love that is required of every child of God is a totally unselfish love, based on the pattern set forth in the CROSS of our Lord Jesus Christ. Love characterises every aspect of God’s relationship to His people. [Hosea.2:19]. *The opposite of love is: 1. Jealousy, (I Corinthians.13:4). 2. Boastfulness, (I Cor. 13:4). 3. Arrogance, (I Cor. 13:5). 4. Rudeness, (I Cor. 13-5). 5. Selfishness, (I Cor. 13:5). 6. Irritability, (I Cor. 13:5) and 7. Resentment, (I Cor. 13:5). *Do these self-centred and dangerously desperate Nigerian politicians love anyone but themselves? NO! Apostle Paul says: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. “If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and “If I have a faith that can move mountains but have not love, I am nothing. “If I give all I have to the poor and surrender my body to flames but have not love, I gain nothing.[I Corinthians. 13:1:3]. *Why were they jumping and somersaulting over the NASS fences, even at the risk of being shot by a trigger-happy security agent? MONEY! *Why would they want to sit tight and die in political offices? MONEY! *Why do they renege on promises and covenants made with the Electorate before they were voted into office? MONEY! *If political offices remunerations are reduced to the Civil Service Salary Scale, how many of these politicians would still cling to office? NONE! *BUT THE SOVEREIGN LORD HAS PREPARED FOR NIGERIA, THE ELECT, A REMNANT WHOM HE FOREKNEW, TO TAKE OVER FROM THOSE WHO HAVE LOOTED NIGERIA’S COFFERS FROM 1960 – 2014! “THEY WILL BRING RIGHTEOUSNESS TO BEAR ON MY NATION, NIGERIA,” SAYS THE LORD OF HOSTS! AMEN. And for the generation of those who were hardened and have disobeyed God through wicked governance, massive stealing and unfaithfulness; as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to this very day. And David says: “May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them. “May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.” Amen. Watch out for the fulfilment of these prophecies as we approach 2015 and please ensure that you cast your votes for the ELECT REMNANTS OF GOD, whom you will easily identify and keep covenant with your Creator! THE SAFE SCHOOL INITIATIVE [SSI]: DESERVES MAXIMUM SECURITY! The rate at which Nigerian school children are being eliminated by Boko Haram bombs should be of great concern to all genuine citizens, who believe in the divine law of succession which emphasizes that the young would grow to succeed their forebears! God saved Noah’s THREE children, Shem Ham and Japheth from drowning in the flood and their clans, according to their lines of descent, are products of our modern world as it is! [Genesis.10:18-11:32] “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD and the fruit of the womb is his reward. “As arrows are in the hand of the mighty, so are children of the youth. “Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” [Psalm 127:3-5] Children are providentially endowed as divine gifts and must therefore be meticulously nurtured, guarded and preserved for posterity according to His Word, “Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it.”[Gen.1:28a]. Some political apologist have posited that social vices like corruption, election or examination malpractices, official deception, poverty and insecurity, were SYSTEMIC and inherited problems and therefore should not be blamed on any incumbent administration! The fundamental obligations of any government to its citizens include faithful execution of political, economic, social, educational, foreign policy, press freedom, environmental objectives, the judicious entrenchment of all fundamental rights and most importantly, the RULE OF LAW! The right to life and the dignity of the human person should always take priority of place with every serious administration as no government can function without its HUMAN CAPITAL! But when, the schooling population of any nation is deliberately targeted for pogrom by some bestial maniacs, who claim that Western education was evil as we now witness in Nigeria, desperate measures MUST be employed by government to save these future leaders at all cost! Chapter IV, Section 33(1) of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution states that every person has a right to life, and no one shall be deprived intentionally of his life, save in the execution of the sentence of a court in respect of a criminal offence of which he has been found guilty in Nigeria. Nigerian school children are being murdered in cold blood at random by savages and government seems to be incapacitated! We must bring this fact to bear that, there is sufficient funds from all economic resources of this nation to cater for the needs of all citizens’ fundamental rights, if RIGHTEOUS politicians are in the saddle of management, but sadly, massive corruption has been the bane of this nation, especially in the past 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party’s [PDP] government of continuity! *HOW MUCH WILL IT COST THE ADULT GOVERNMENT OF PDP TO PROTECT SCHOOL CHILDREN IN UNITY AND TECHNICAL SCHOOLS ACROSS THE NATION IF THE COMMON WEALTH IS NOT BEING DIVERTED INTO PRIVATE POCKETS? Working with a maximum figure of 100 schools, an initial expenditure of N50 million naira (fifty) each, totalling N5 billion, should take care of fencing, gates, a mixture of uniformed and plain-clothed security personnel equipped with communication gadgets, metal detectors small arms and SNIFFER DOGS, for each institution, would ensure the required positive results! Had these security measures been in place on 10 November 2014, at the Government Comprehensive Senior Science Secondary School, Potiskum, Yobe State, only the suicide bomber would have died instead of the 47 who died with 79 others critically injured! *A teacher who survived the attack narrated how the bomber was dropped off at the unmanned school gate, wearing a white shirt and black trousers –the dress code for students - and carried a bag over his shoulders. *He was said to have been spotted by another teacher who noticed his odd behaviour of carrying a bag to the assembly ground, but kept quiet when interrogated and was forced to kneel down as punishment before the bomb suddenly exploded! *That suicide bomber would not have gained free entry if the suggested security measures were in place. *The Boko Haram terrorists have been responsible for all attacks targeted at schools in the last five years of its evil operations and had hampered the right of the children to qualitative education in the entire North Eastern States under the state of emergency! Also in Yobe State on February 25, 2014, 59 boys were killed at the Federal Government College of Buni Yadi at night while they slept in their boarding apartments and the 24 buildings of the institution were all burnt down! There were many other deadly and fatal attacks on secondary school of this geo-political zone which have sent hundreds of our innocent children to their untimely graves and which should no longer be published to avoid opening up fresh wounds and grief. *MAY THE GENTLE SOULS OF THESE YOUNG HEROES WHO DIED IN THE LINE OF DUTY, REST IN PERFECT PEACE WITH OUR LORD. AMEN. Federal and State Governments may not be accused of inaction, but of insufficient and dedicated commitment, to save these delicate species of our POSTERITY from extinction! *The Potiskum attack occurred just after the Federal Government announced that 2,400students would be enrolled in the country's SAFE SCHOOL INITIATIVE (SSI). *Eight hundred students each, from the three North Eastern States hardest hit by Boko Haram’s terrorists activities, were already penciled down for admission into other unity schools across the country with the consent of their parents, just over six months after the insurgents kidnapped more than 200 school girls from Chibok, Bornu State. *The Safe School Initiative was launched at the World Economic Forum on Africa in Nigeria, by Nigerian business leaders, working with the United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education, Mr Gordon Brown, the Global Business Coalition and a World at School. The Initiative was launched with an initial $10million US dollars in response to the growing number of attacks on the right to education in the North East States and in solidarity, the Federal government agreed to match the amount with an additional $10million, in a meeting between President Jonathan and the UN Special Envoy for Global Education. One hundred ($100million US dollars), is set target for the SSI to which more funds would be raised according to the Envoy who promised his assistance. This joint effort on the protection of the right to learn in Nigeria is based on best practices from global standards which emphasizes that Safe Schools must be prioritized for continuity in education, even in HIGH RISK AREAS! *We appreciate the fact that sufficient funds have been made available according to the Finance Minister, who expressed the hope that SSI will re-kindle the needed motivation for parents and children whose sense of safety had been shattered by the violence. Students under the voluntary programme would enjoy full scholarships covering books and boarding from Junior Secondary School I, to Senior Secondary 3, at the 32 Federal Unity Schools across the country. Funds will also be made to parents who would visit their wards occasionally. The SSI is a very laudable project which deserves necessary precautionary security measures since the entire North East schools could not re-locate to other parts of Nigeria. There is urgent need for all the physical measures suggested earlier to be implemented without delay if this administration is truly sincere to its citizens. We also recommend a synergy between parents/teachers and community groups for greater advocacy on additional needs to protect education from attack in this geo-political zone. The SNIFFER DOGS which were purchased to harass the ELECTORATE at Ekiti and Osun States gubernatorial elections should now be re-deployed to work in all schools to prevent the suicide bombers from causing further mayhem in those institutions. In addition we should all exert our spiritual energies in seeking the face of the LORD who said: “Thou shall have no other gods before me. “Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in Heaven above or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth. “Thou shall not bow down thyself to them, not serve them, for I the LORD thy God, am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me. “And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.”[Exodus.20:3-6]. *In Nigeria, all the gods are numerous and abound! There are the gods of high and low-level corruption, avarice, embezzlement, brazen robbery of the COMMON WEALTH, stealing, armed robbery, adultery, fornication, cheating, arson, impunity, intimidation, human parts trafficking, assassination, smuggling, money laundering etc, the list is very long! It is not too late for all of us as a nation to turn a new leaf, fear and respect our Creator who is ever-ready and always willing to reason with us in spite of the multitude of our sins, with the following promises to those who would humble themselves before Him: “Come now and let us reason together, saith the LORD, though your sin be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat of the good of the land. “But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword, for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” [ Isaiah.1:18-20; 2Chronicles. 7:14]. *The steadfast love of our Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end they are new every morning, always, new every morning; great is thy faithfulness O Lord, great is thy faithfulness. TRANSFORMATION SHOULD BEGIN WITH THE TRANSFORMERS! The Transformation Agenda Policy is not new to Nigerian politics. Former President Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo, fiddled with the idea by “placing all his transformation eggs in one basket”, and during the heat of implementation, all of the eggs got broken because of too many hands! *He began with the Public Service Reforms in February 2004 which was targeted at improving service delivery system and promoting good governance. Being his second and final term as President, OBJ(as he is fondly called), began a concerted drive to install due process, transparency, institutionalization of fiscal responsibility, accounting reforms and accountability in government transactions; all aimed at waste- curtailment of public expenditure. *There was also the area of downsizing and rightsizing of the over bloated Federal personnel to create professionally-manned human resources management departments with competencies for strategic functions in the transformation innovation. *Also in the transformation train, were “masses oriented policies” such as, The National Health Insurance Scheme, Massive Infrastructural Development of the Power Sector, Issuance of Licences for Private Sector Construction of New Crude Oil Refineries, Mobile Phone and the Information Communications Technology Revolution, Privatization and Commercialization of Public Enterprises, Public Expenditure Management through appropriate budget monitoring mechanisms and Monetization of Fringe Benefits, etc. *In spite of all these laudable objectives, the cankerworm of corruption which characterised his administration during his first term (1999-2003), subsisted alongside his THIRD TERM HIDDEN AGENDA to rubbish OBJ’s *Transformation Policies which turned out to be a smoke screen after all! The commotions that greeted this large-scale presidential deceit did not appease RESTITUTION from OBJ, instead, Nigeria witnessed the “do-or-die” worst kind of elections to keep his ruling party in power to cover up for all his atrocities in government! *The point here is that laudable policies of governments can only be actualized by righteous leaders who love and fear God and who believe that this present universe is a transition to an ETERNITY of salvation or damnation – depending on choices of lifetime. The Biblical parable of the Pounds should be inspirational to good leaders who are determined to serve optimally. [Luke.19:11-27] *The incumbent President has continued the transformation policies and only the deaf, dumb, mute, blind or domiciled in a Space outside of Planet Earth, would have missed the massive propaganda of government’s achievements in the areas of Road construction networks across the length and breadth of Nigeria, Railways, the Automobile Industry, Agriculture, Health, Education, “massive” Youth Employment Programmes, etc. as advertised in the mass (electronic and print) media through Transformation Agenda of Nigeria contractors. *They were very thorough and convincing as they added Road Shows/Rallies to the ‘Cocktail’, in all the Six Geo-Political Zones; with the grand finale at the Federal Capital Territory where signatories of over half of Nigeria’s population were unveiled to urge the President to declare for another term in office! *It was all well and good but for the fact that the issues of CORRUPTION, INEPTITUDE and the IMPUNITY of this present administration to the RULE OF LAW, was deliberately swept into the background! *An English adage states that, “THE LAW IS AN ASS”, which means that the Law could be likened to the Ass, which is the most-stupid and dumbest four-legged animal in creation! An Ass can be easily manipulated or abused without complaining, unlike a Mule! *The Law states that a Suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty. *The same Law also recommends the interdiction, incarceration or suspension from duty of a Suspect until investigation, prosecution and judgment are concluded! *If the process of the Law should be observed in this manner, why should Nigeria’s Suspects be allowed to remain in government offices, vie for new positions or even contest elections from the confines of Prisons, when criminal charges, bordering on stealing, misappropriation, misapplication, embezzlement, money-laundering, etc, against them were unresolved and inconclusive? *Abia and Osun States, have the distinguished honour of producing a Governor and a Senator respectively from the Prisons! Bauchi is blessed for producing a past Governor being prosecuted on an alleged embezzlement charge of about N8Billion while in office, as Chairman of the government party! *The Lagos State Assembly retained a legislator on criminal charges of stealing in office to enjoy full benefits until the case was determined. *Ekiti State has just celebrated the crowning of a Suspect, who allegedly stole over N6Billion, during a previous tenure, as its new governor! *The National Assembly, especially the SENATE, is filled with failed governors who are still on the prosecution list of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC], for illegally draining the coffers of their respective States! *SHOULD THE LAW BE AN ASS OR A SNIFFER DOG? *The Laws which operate in the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA) are SNIFFER DOGS! *Former Governor James Ibori, who was discharged and acquitted in Nigeria by an ASS LAW, was apprehended in London, over the same offences committed both in Nigeria and UK, simultaneously, prosecuted for money laundering and embezzlement of his State’s fund and is now serving a 13-year prison sentence! *A United States Governor who sold President Barak Obama’s Senatorial seat for some thousands of Dollars, was handcuffed from his office and led into police custody for prosecution and judgment! THE TRUTH IS THAT LAW CAN REMAIN AN ASS TO THE EXTENT WHICH ITS INTERPRETERS, IN ANY NATION SUBJECTS IT! *Nigeria is a peculiar nation when it comes to the manipulation of the Law in favour of the RULERS in power, to suit their whims and caprices because of the endemic issues of massive corruption which have replaced the Letters and Spirit of our National Anthem! *JINGLE BELLS…..jingle bells – not of the CHRISTMAS or the YULETIDE, but of a multitude of ravenous Vampire politicians – resounding all over the land of Nigeria as they strategize, position and re-position themselves to cruise into the JUICY POLITICAL OFFICES OF THE, “NEVER BROKE AND CASHFUL” PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM, which will still hold sway in 2015! *We hear that about 247 candidates have picked up forms of intention to vie for about 30 governorship positions, while hundreds of hundreds are also jostling for slots in the National and State Assemblies, across the length and breadth of the nation! *WE HAVE NO QUARREL WITH THESE OPPORTUNISTS BECAUSE OUR SEARCHLIGHT IS FOCUSSED ON YOU THE ELECTORATE! Without you the ELECTORATE, who should investigate, probe their antecedents, assess their eligibilities, capabilities, and trustworthiness, they would enjoy free ride into political offices with the sinister connivance of party stalwarts/machineries and the “UMPIRES”, while our good and divinely-sent candidates would be swept aside by those crooked money-bags! *Presently these politicians have flocked their various Constituencies to perfect their ungodly strategies on some impoverished but gullible ELCTORATE, take advantage of their pecuniary weakness and lure their votes for 2015! *THIS IS WHERE WE COME IN TO INFORM YOU OF THE PLAN OF GOD FOR YOU IN THE COMING 2015 YEAR OF GENERAL ELECTIONS! *The Word of God states as follows: “Let us who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of SALVATION.” [I Thessalonians. 5:8]. There are two sets of people in the world – those of the DAY and those of the NIGHT! A closer study of this declaration/counsel by Apostle Paul, conveys an apprehension of the possibility of culpability and compromise on the part of the PEOPLE OF THE DAY! In his exposition of this golden verse of the Bible, Evan Hopkins says, “There is danger lest those who are of the day should conform in habit and life with those who are of the night.” PEOPLE OF THE NIGHT are the ungodly politicians of these last days who are so self-centred that no matter whose blood flows as a result of their bad governance, what interests them is to return every four years to continue to MINE OUR COLLECTIVE TREASURY to their own advantage and theirs alone! As this publication was about to bed (that is to be printed), over 60 Senators and hundreds of Legislators of the Lower Chamber, were hustling for automatic tickets - to be returned unopposed, just like Mr. President - not bothered that the FIVE-YEAR-OLD INSURGENCY OF THE NORTH EASTERN NIGERIA IS A DIRECT RESULT OF THEIR MALADMINISTRATION AND THAT NEW HANDS AND BRAINS ARE NEEDED ON BOARD TO RESOLVE THE CRISIS ONCE AND FOR ALL! These people are without understanding; they are covenant-breakers without natural affection, implacable and unmerciful! Though they know that in the judgment of GOD, they remain condemnable to death, they cared less but delight in those of their ilk! Prophet Jude has a word of consolation for people of our day, you the ELECTORATE, on whom the destiny of this nation now rests: “But ye beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. “Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. “And of some have compassion, making a difference. “And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” [Jude.20-23] These words are addressed to all eligible voters in this nation not to conform to the old pattern of being bribed to mortgage their future and posterity for few thousands of naira and fake promises of desperate politicians who would employ all ungodly methods to achieve their hidden agendas! *You the ELECTORATE, as power brokers, are the masters in every election! JONATHAN OF ISRAEL – A MAN OF HONOUR AND INTEGRITY! Covenant is a promise; it is a formal agreement between two or more people. Covenants could be struck between tribes, clans, communities, nations, though in modern times they prefer to call such agreements, TREATIES. It is on record that the idea of making a treaty pervades almost the whole history of the ancient Near East, of which Israel remains a prominent player; so it should not be surprising that God used covenants to cement relationships with His children and with nations during the Old Testament Bible times and even today! GOD made covenants with: *Noah, [Genesis.6:18; 9:8ff]; *Abraham, [Gen. 15:7-18; 17:2-14; Luke.1:72-75; Acts.3:25; Galatians.3:16]; *Moses, [Exodus.24; compare with Chapters 21-23]; *David, [2Samuel. 7; 23:5; Psalm. 89:3-4]; *Isaac, [Gen. 17:19, 21; 26:3-4]; *Israel, [Exodus.6:4; Acts.3:25] and *Jacob, [Gen. 28:13-14, compare with 1Chronicles.16:16-17]. In religious history of the world, the Israelites, also identified as Jews or Hebrews, are the most distinguished because they were the first to be elected by God as His special people and the first also to believe in one and only God, whom they called Yahweh or Jehovah.[1Peter.2:9-10]. Though, a small desert nation, Israel has impacted the world positively in religious, political and economic issues and warfare matters that continue to baffle modern day historians! Is it therefore a wonder that the whole world population of Christians, Muslims even Pagans, flock to JERUSALEM (the City of God), in Israel, to seek religious solace? Jewish writings which consist of their history, laws, customs, culture, tradition, poetry, prophecies of men of God, religious music and hymns were all documented in the TORAH (a wonderful collection of unique literature), or the Old Testament Bible as we now know it, before the first advent of our Lord Jesus Christ, over two thousand years ago, to edify our generation and posterity. Like the Lord Jesus Christ, JONATHAN was also an Israelite, who loved and feared Jehovah. He was a man of an impeccable character, who in spite of his antecedent, believed in fulfilling covenants or treaties. The literal meaning of his name is “Yahweh, (Jehovah) has given”; he had many credits to his advantage; born with the ‘silver spoon in his mouth’, heir-apparent to the throne of ISRAEL, male first-born of the first King of Israel, though of the royal breed and blood, was trained as a combatant of the Israeli Army, an able and courageous warrior who fought side by side and made friends with the peasants! [2Samuel.1:22]. In one of his military exploits, Jonathan sprung a surprise attack with his armour bearer on the Philistines who were Israel’s perpetual enemies and with that singular act of bravery, Israel defeated them overwhelmingly! In the process of time, Jonathan struck a PACT OF FRIENDSHIP with David, another fearless warrior who defeated Goliath in another encounter with the Philistines![1Samuel.14:6ff;17:1-54]. The most outstanding and sterling attributes of Jonathan of Israel were his honour and integrity to fulfil the COVENANT made to protect (Peasant David), who by divine providence, ascended the throne as the second King instead of Jonathan! This heir-apparent at the risk to his own life, defied his father the King, saved David from being assassinated by his father and this distinctive characteristic singled him out as a role model of loyalty to TRUTH and the most-distinguished biblical COVENANT-KEEPER, during and after his glorious lifetime![1Samuel.19-20]. *Jonathan of Israel was born great and he achieved greatness in his short-lived life! *He was not intoxicated with power or position in spite of his pedigree. *He was neither proud nor puffed up! *There are still many JONATHANS in the world today but they may not be covenant keepers! They may be Christians and might have worshipped in many temples, toured many “Holy sites”, including those of Jerusalem, but would be quick to betray Jesus Christ for 30 pieces of silver! *Because these set of Jonathans have neither GODLY nor Royal characteristics /antecedents and greatness was not even thrust upon them but, grabbed positions of authority through the barrels of the guns or electoral manipulations/malpractices, they are prone to become very desperate in the process of clinging to ephemeral position of authority! *They are scattered all over Africa, from Cape to Cairo, Senegal to Sudan; they rule without set agenda, ideology or manifestoes, but with only one determination, and that is, TO RULE WITH IMPUNITY AND DIE IN OFFICE! *It is only in Africa that Presidents have ruled their countries for 44 years, (Libya); 33,(Congo Kinshasa); 30, (Zimbabwe), 26(Sudan); 27,(Burkina Faso); etc, as they, in collaboration their cronies, tinkered with their Constitutions to allow for term extensions! Is the HEART OF THE BLACK MAN TRULY BLACK? *WHY DO PEOPLE BREAK COVENANTS AND WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCIES AND PUNISHMENTS FOR COVENANT-BREAKERS? In the Old Testament Bible times, conditions of covenants were clearly specified, (1Sam.11:1-5; Deuteronomy. 11:6); confirmed by oath, (Gen.21:23, 31; 26:31); witnessed, (Gen.23:17-18; Ruth.4:9-11); written and sealed, (Nehemiah.9:38; 10:1). They were designed to establish friendship, peace, mutual protection, procuring assistance in war promoting commerce, land sale etc, and GOD WAS ALWAYS CALLED TO BE WITNESS (Gen. 31:50,53) because COVENANTS ARE REGARDED AS SACRED.(Joshua 9:16-19, Psalm.15:4). *Both in the Old and New Testaments, Covenants were violated by the WICKED!(Romans.13.:31; 2Timothy.3:3; compare with Ephisians.2:12), not because they were not well-drafted and CRAFTED, but because, the human heart is continuously evil! *In 2003, a former Nigerian President prostrated (full length), for his very influential deputy to RUN for a second four-year tenure and when granted, used the entire period to consolidate his position, back-stabbed his political “benefactor” and brazenly plotted to forge the Constitution in order to serve a THIRD TERM! He was rebuffed by the great PEOPLE – the POWER BROKERS! *In 2011, another President also lobbied to be allowed to serve ONE TERM to complete a Northern joint ticket which began in 2007, but was aborted due to the sudden demise of his Principal. His wish was also granted but three months into office, he began to strategize with an Executive Bill for a single term tenure of SIX or SEVEN years for all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the Federation; Presidents and Governors and National Assembly CEOs! HE FAILED DUE TO PUBLIC OPPOSITION! * He pretended to have forgotten his ELECTIONEERING COVENANT OF ONE TERM ONLY with the Nigerian people in 2010 and his speech to Diaspora Nigerians in Addis- Ababa, Ethiopia, during the African Union (AU),Meeting of January31, 2011, which was recorded as follows: “I would have loved that Nigerians in Diaspora vote this year. But to be frank with you, that is going to be difficult now. “Nigerians in the Diaspora will not vote, but I will work towards it by 2015, even though I WILL NOT BE RUNNING FOR ELECTION”! Since January 2013 and to date, this President who denied ever making such a statement, has lobbied every member of his ruling party for sole candidacy position for the 2015 Presidential and has successfully “won” the offer of first refusal with fanfare while the door was shut against two other party members who dared to apply for the RESERVED MUMBER ONE POSITION! What will be the punishment for Covenant Breakers? They will have to answer to God and also the People! The Grapevine whispered to us that one modern NOSTRADAMUS Man of God, Prophet Marcus Tibetan, (not T.B. Joshua), respected for accuracy of prediction has revealed, that the President in question MAY BE JAILED, SEVEN (7) YEARS AFTER HIS TENURE! And if we may ask, ‘WHICH TENURE’? *Speaking through one of the major characters, (Antony), in the drama of Julius Caesar, British Poet and Playwright, William Shakespeare says, “For Brutus is an honourable man; so are they all, all honourable men”! [Marcus Brutus was the highly-respected Roman Senator who master-minded the brutal assassination of General Julius Caesar within the Red Chambers!] Honour implies the attributes of great respect, privilege, uprightness, honesty, truthfulness or high moral standards to feel honour-bound to do something one has promised to do! * ARE THE PRESENT GENERATION OF AFRICAN LEADERS AND POLITICIANS HONOURABLE MEN? THE BUKINABE POWER BROKERS HAVE DRIVEN OUT THE 27-YEAR-TERM SIT-TIGHT PRESIDENT! WHETHER IT IS SIX YEARS OR DONKEY YEARS, ALL DISHONOURABLE LEADERS MUST BE SHOWN THE WAY OUT!
