A UNITED STATES OF NIGERIA [USN] IS BORN, HALLELUJAH! A silent but very powerful spiritual earthquake is moving through the land! It is devastating and calamitous because it is consuming and swallowing up the Korahs, Dathans and Abirams of Nigeria who have challenged God to a contest of superiority! [Read, Numbers. 16:1-35]. *Did you know that the presidential and legislative elections scheduled for the 14th February, 2015, actually took place in God’s Supernatural Realm and that the divine winners would be divinely announced to the world at the end of the first quarter? *On the 28th of February, 2015, God’s appointed Governors and Members of State Assemblies would also emerge in the same spiritual pattern and a brand new United States of Nigeria [USN], will debut according to God’s purposive plan while the new dates of 28th March, 2015 and 11th April, 2015, will go down in history as mere human frailty which remain inferior to God’s supernatural powers! *THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD! AMEN. *The earthly Ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ are divided into two parts: *The first was concluded over two thousand years ago when He willingly surrendered His life as the only acceptable sacrifice that could save the world’s population from their intractable sins! The Word of God says: “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” [Romans.5:7-8; compare with, John.3:16]. *The second part which is shrouded in divine mystery, according to revelation, would entail the judgment of all nations at His Second Advent, as recorded in Matthew. 24:29-42; ..….”But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” (verse 36; compare Matt.25:13). *The good news is that, the Lord Jesus Christ is still seated at the right hand of God the Father in heaven as you read this treatise, which means that there are ample opportunities for repentance, restitutions, spiritual re-adjustments/ re-alignments, attitudinal amendments, transformation, reconciliation etc., for everyone in whose body is deposited, the God-endowed breath of life! *Before His departure, the Lord once asked His 12 Disciples, “When I return to the earth, would I find FAITH on the earth?” The answer to that question may have to wait until His return, because the disciples had no clue as to what would manifest in the future! *The biblical definition of Faith in Hebrews.11:1 is: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen;” and though Christians are enjoined to walk by faith and not by sight, the true situation on ground is that most people depend on the ‘arm of flesh’, or physical solutions to challenges; which translates to walking by sight! *This story is told that after Jesus went back to heaven, one day, an angel said to Him, “Now that You are back in heaven, how will the gospel be carried around in the world? Did You leave a plan?” “Yes I did,” replied Jesus. “Is it a good one? Will it work?” Again Jesus replied, “Yes it will.” “What is Your plan?” asked the angel. “I left a group of people who are to share the gospel with the whole world.” The angel was startled and said, “Do You think that is a good plan? Suppose they get tired and quit? Suppose they are indifferent and don’t care? Suppose they are too busy with their own plans they don’t have time? What other plan do You have?” Jesus answered, “I have no other plan. I’m trusting them.” *As the Lord is trusting His Apostles in the world, so should Nigerians continue to trust all children of God who on bended knees are engaged in intercessory prayer-chain for overwhelming victories over all the forces of darkness militating against this nation that they would keep faith alive! We believe that, that this nation remained united in diversity, though immersed in man-made economic quagmire and that our military through the special grace of God is able to contain the Boko Haram terrorism, is answer to such unceasing prayers! *Nigerians have never been so united as they were from Saturday, 7th February 2015, when the ruling party almost truncated the fragile democracy through an arbitrary postponement of the general elections for six weeks! *Instead of a civil commotion, unrest or disobedience, Nigerians closed ranks to press home the imminent process of a revolution of issues-based politicking by utilizing the forced recess to closing ranks and forging ahead to achieving a free, fair, credible and violence-free elections on the man-invented days of 28th March,2015 and 11th April, 2015, respectively! *The opposition should be commended for taking a peaceful stand which forced the ruling party to retrace their initial diabolical plans of truncating peace by announcing through their Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, that they were very confident and convinced that Professor Attahiru Jega and his team were capable of conducting credible elections on the new man-appointed dates! *Prior to this clarification, the duo of Dr. Ahmadu Ali and ‘Femi Fani-Kayode had heated up the polity by blaming INEC for the debacle of postponement, dereliction of duties and shoddy preparations including a disparaging accusation of fraternity between Jega and top members of the opposition in Dubai, United Arab Emirate, with a view to rigging the 2015 elections! *In other climes where leaders believe that only righteousness would exalt a nation and that SIN would constitute an albatross, a united front of the President and members of his council or cabinet would champion prayer and fasting programmes to keep the nation on course unlike was is presently playing out In Nigeria! *Let us glorify God with the lyrics of this song by John Newton, 1779. * “But for your grace I (we) could not be saved; “But for your grace I (we) would go my (our) way; “I ‘m (we) forever grateful that You have been faithful to me (us) L o rd; “For Your Amazing G r a c e! CHORUS: “Amazing grace how sweet the song; “That saved a wretch like me (us); “I was (we were) once lost, but now ‘am (are) found; “Was (were) blind, but now I (we) see! *During the tenure of Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth American president three separate days of national humiliation, prayer and fasting were proclaimed. The prime cause for each of these was the Civil War, and the central theme of petition was for the restoration of national peace and unity. *Below is the first proclamation which was requested by a joint committee of both Houses of Congress and the day set apart, was the last Thursday in September 1861. The following is part of the proclamation: *Whereas a joint committee of both Houses of Congress has waited on the President of the United States, and requested him to “recommend a day of public Humiliation, Prayer and Fasting, to be observed by the people of the United States with religious solemnities, and offering of fervent supplications to Almighty God for the safety and welfare of these States, His blessing on their arms, and a speedy restoration of peace. “And whereas it is fit and becoming in all people, at times, to acknowledge and revere the Supreme Government of God; to bow in humble submission to His chastisement to confess and deplore their sins and transgressions in the full conviction that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and to pray, with all fervency and contrition, for the pardon of their past offences, and for a blessing upon their present and prospective action…… Therefore, I ABRAHAM LINCOLN, President of the United States, do appoint the last Thursday in September next, as a day of Humiliation, Prayer, and Fasting, for all of the people of the nation. And I do earnestly recommend to all the people, and especially to all the ministers and teachers of religion, of all denominations, and to all heads of families, to observe and keep that day, according to their several creeds and modes of worship, in all humility, and with all religious solemnity, to the end that the united prayer of the nation may ascend to the Throne of Grace, and bring down plentiful blessings upon our Country.” [Appendix no.8 of volume12 of U.S. Statutes At Large.) *It is instructive to notice that “all heads of families” were specifically mentioned in the proclamation because it was envisaged that the united prayer and fasting of the masses of the nation would touch the Big Heart of the LORD and carry greater spiritual weight! *President Abraham Lincoln spent one term of FOUR YEARS in office, he made indelible impacts on his nation and is still being sung across the whole universe in the 21st Century! *In our publication No.29 of 02-03-14, Zion B-BC Newsletter, titled, “SOCIAL JUSTICE, BOKO HARAM TERRORISM, JONATHAN’S ROLE AND DIVINE SOLUTION”, almost one year ago, we posited the following views on page 3, based on divine revelations: “When an amnesty channel for dialogue with the Boko Haram was initiated by the Federal Government between 2012-2013, the insurgents bluntly refused financial inducements as bases for cessation of atrocities unlike the case with the Niger Delta militants, which was initiated by the late President, Umaru Yar’Adua in 2008. “To every problem, there is always a godly SOLUTION and having prayed and fasted over this persistent issue of Boko Haram insurgency, we are divinely favoured to prophesy the following solutions: (1). A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING FOR REPENTANCE, TO BE SPIRITUALLY CHOSEN BY MR. PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE AZIKIWE JONATHAN, WHO MUST HAVE THE HOLY CONVICTION THAT ONLY RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL EXALT NIGERIA AND THAT SIN WILL CONSTITUTE AN ALBATROSS AND A DISGRACE TO THE CITIZENS! [Read, Proverbs.14:34; and 2Chronicles.7:14-15]. (2). Authentic declaration of financial and immovable assets by all civil servants, from Mr. President to the Clerks at the Local Government Areas, be carried out without delay and all excess funds not commensurate with salaries or allowances, be voluntarily relinquished to government without legal action against the righteous new Nigerians. (2a) A consensus People’s Account to be christened, THE ZACCHAEUS REHABILITATION ACCOUNT, and backed by an Act of Parliament, be opened with immediate effect to accommodate the voluntary monetary returns and supervised by a committee of nominees from the six geo-political zones.[Please read, Luke19:1-10]. (2b). Another committee of trustees from the zones should be put in charge of all immovable assets to be turned over, to commercialize, manage and turn them into viable ventures that would continue to boost the new account. (2c). All monies that will accrue to the Zacchaeus Rehabilitation Account, including huge sums to be recovered from the NNPC after the FORENSIC AUDITING, will be permanently dedicated to succour, rehabilitate, re-orientate and heal all indigenes, re-build and reconstruct the home and the institutions, of our NORTHERN STATES brethren who have been devastated by the Boko Haram insurgency since 2009! (3).All illegal Federal Government accounts, namely, (a)Excess Crude Oil Sales Account, and (b)Sovereign Wealth Fund, must be collapsed into the Federation Account according to constitutional provisions, a LUMP SUM OF FIFTY BILLION UNITED STATES DOLLARS be transferred into the Zacchaeus Rehabilitation Account and all legitimate withdrawals be subjected to due process at all times! IT WAS TIME WE BECAME OUR BROTHERS’ KEEPER!” *Of all of the above prophetic recommendations, only the areas of reconstruction of buildings and rehabilitation of some indigenes of the devastated North East Nigeria are being given presidential and federal attention because they are not the ruling party’s States! *Even at that, the most important divine instruction of setting apart a National Day of prayer and fasting to be SPIRITUALLY CHOSEN BY MR. PRESIDENT, have been in abeyance, though we repeated this call after our first publication reproduced above! *Mr President has lost a golden opportunity to comply with GOD’S DIRECTIVE and now 29th May, 2015 is knocking at the door! * “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the Word of the LORD, He hath also rejected thee from being king.”[1Samuel.15:23; compare verses, 10-11]. BETWEEN PHARAOH’S LEGION AND THE DEEP RED SEA! Nigeria’s ruling party has at last succeeded in shifting the 2015 General Elections from the 14th and 28th February to 28th March and 11th April, respectively, “to allow the Military to complete their counter-insurgency operations in the North East because they would not be available to guarantee the safety of the Electorate on the earlier appointed scheduled dates!” *There are therefore now 42 more days (or 6weeks), between 14th February and 28th March 2015 for all registered voters to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC’s) and for adequate security arrangements to be put in place, for a free, fair, credible, smooth and violent-free elections that all the good people of Nigeria had been looking forward to! *The Transformation Agenda Train had been on course except in the SECURITY SECTOR which was deliberately delayed to the elections period in order to ensure the THIRD TERM AGENDA, of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, which is replica of 2007 do-or-die elections presided over by his godfather, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo! *At that time Armoured Tanks, military hardware and other heavy artilleries were rolled out to harass, intimidate and frighten Nigerians to obey the power that be, i.e., incumbency power, which controls, the TREASURY, MEDIA AND SECURITY AGENCIES! But glory be to GOD that the security agencies and their artilleries of 2015 are far away in the trenches of warfare in North East Nigeria, deployed to win the war against the Boko Haram terrorists and rescue our CHIBOK SECONDARY SCHOOL GIRLS who were abducted since April 14, 2014! *The Word of God says: “All things worketh for good for those who love God and who are the called according to His purpose.” [Romans.8:28]. *We congratulate the good and patient people of Nigeria for their resilience and endurance in these past 16 years of perpetual slavery in their Fatherland! Postponement of elections does not tantamount to CANCELLATION of elections! In 2007, Chief Obasanjo, expected that Nigerians would protest and riot against his EXECUTIVE TERRORISM and thus create an opportunity for him to proclaim a national state of emergency, that would perpetuate him in office; but he did not only fail but left office in disgrace! That same fate definitely awaits those who may want to follow Obasanjo’s footsteps! *It is gratifying to know that the opposition has been preaching PEACE to their supporters who have received the postponement as a period to re-strategize and re-organize their plans for CHANGE! *A critical assessment of Nigeria’s political and socio-economic scorecard since independence tilts toward a negative conclusion that, there is “persistent institutional failure,” caused by the DEARTH OF EXEMPLARY, EFFECTIVE AND CREDIBLE LEADERSHIP, WHICH HAD DOGGEDLY BEGUILED NATIONAL AFFAIRS IN 54 YEARS OF ADMINISTRATION! Those who ran the affairs of Nigeria during these periods “were unfit, inarticulate, and unprepared” for the onerous number one job! *How did they cope? Their numerous advisers and stooges were always on hand to utilize the print and electronic media platforms and billboards, to run “government affairs!” *Two presidential gladiators, representing Nigeria’s ruling party and the main opposition party have been thrown up for the crucial 2015 General Elections, to prove our critical standpoint that the country’s political landscape is replete of the RE-CYLING MOULD AND TEMPLATE! *Both men, the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan and General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), need no introduction, because they have held positions of the highest office in the country and are re-contesting to have another opportunity as if there were no better and eminent persons to run the affairs of the fragile democracy! *During last year’s October 2014 party primaries, which featured the same old brigade of Goodluck Jonathan, Atiku Abubakar and Muhammadu Buhari, we were quick to comment that they were only interested in the pomp and pageantry of the Nigeria’s prodigal presidential system and not in the poor masses! *Please read below our comments in Zion B-BC Newsletter, Vol. 2. No. 62 of 19-10-14: “Whether it is Buhari, Atiku or Jonathan, the driving force propelling them towards the ASO ROCK NO.1 SEAT, is sheer greed and covetousness. “They have all tasted presidential power but are INSATIABLE…. The GOSPEL TRUTH is that, none of these presidential candidates possess LOVE OR EMPATHY for the poor masses of this nation; they only love themselves, members of their families and cronies. “There are credible men and women of impeccable character in this nation who are ready to serve the masses faithfully and ensure the even distribution of our COMMONWEALTH, without fear or favour.” *Nigeria’s political system of the last 16 years, which delegates absolute power and authority to successive presidents, who also doubled as their party leaders, has turned out to be a deliberate, calculated and diabolical plan by some despots to perpetuate themselves in office, by hiding under the pretext of CONSTITUTIONAL EXECUTIVE POWERS through which they could manipulate the system and abuse the economy to their advantage! * The first Prime Minister, Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, could hardly get his bearings straight when he was jettisoned from the saddle! *Chief Obafemi Awolowo an astute politician, who blazed the trail in preparedness, probity and integrity of character, was “prevented”, from getting close to the THRONE! *The Military struck and Nigeria was turned into the AUGEAN STABLE – things fell apart and the centre could no longer hold! *THE DUO OF BALEWA AND AWOLOWO, IF DIVINELY PERMITTED TO HOLD SWAY, WOULD HAVE LEFT BEHIND CREDIBLE POLITICAL STRUCTURE AND LEGACY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT OBTAINS PRESENTLY in 2015 of a political EQUATION in which the Nigerian MASSES are sandwiched between Pharaoh’s Army and the Deep Red Sea, but by the LORD’S special grace they will walk through bed of the sea on DRY GROUND, AMEN! [Read Exodus, Chapters 14-15]. *The new duo of Jonathan and Buhari area not the best presidential materials from the Nigerian Stable, but since they have been thrown up from the system, the ELECTORATE has only once choice and that is to vote massively for the better among the TWO! *Let us therefore re-visit the profiles of the two men as follows: *Buhari: Jonathan: Military Rule. Civilian Rule Draconian, brutish; Gentle, cunning, 1983-1985; 2011-2015 Eradicated corruption; Encouraged corruption War against indiscipline, Abuse of court processes; Man of Truth, Man of LIE! Seeking Change, Wants continuity, Favours Talakawas, Billionaires friend, Has no money, Immensely rich, He is now prepared, Still unprepared, *We can go on and on, but the needful at this point in time is for the electorate allow peace to reign so that all the incumbent’s surrogates would not find an opportunity to initiate executive terrorism which may give birth to a national state of emergency! *Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely! The Jonathan of 2011 is different from the one you watch on your television screens in 2015! He is no longer the gentle dove, he has become very aggressive in speech, outlook, demeanour, gait, composure and determination to remain in power at all cost! *IN SPITE OF HIS GLOBAL PROMISE MADE IN ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA IN 2011 THAT HE WOULD NOT CONTEST THE 2015 ELECTIONS, HE HAD BEEN PARADING CHURCHES TO ACQUIRE THE BLESSINGS OF UNSCRUPULOUS MEN OF GOD FOR CONTINUITY! *He has also commanded mercenary media staff to continue the HATE RELIGIOUS CAMPAIGN SPEECHES against the opposition candidate who is a Muslim faithful, on the print and electronic media unabated! *WHOSOEVER ASPIRES TO THE LEADERSHIP POSITION MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING STERLING QUALITIES: 1. Must be ready to SERVE and be GOD-FEARING, [Exodus.18:21; 2Samuel.23:3; Ezra.7:25.]. 2. TRUTHFUL, [Exo.18:21; Deuteronomy16:19]. 3. Must have hatred of COVETOUSNESS, [Exo.18:21]. 4. Must have a disposition to refuse BRIBES,[Exo.23:8]. 5. Must be WISE and UNDERSTANDING,[Deut. 1:13]; 6. PROMINENT and ACCEPTABLE in all tribes.[Deut. 1:13]. 7. Having LOVE of JUSTICE AND JUDGEMENT, [Deut.1:16; 16:18-19; 27:19; Zechariah.7:9-10].] 8. Without respect of persons,[Deut.1:17; 16:19; 25:1; Isaiah.5:23]. 9. FEARLESS, [Deut.1:17]. 10. CONSCIENTIOUS. [Deut. 1:17]. 11. STRONG AND COURAGEOUS, [Joshua. 1:7]. 12. OBIDIENT TO THE LAW. [Josh.1:7-8]. * Between the two candidates in the ongoing analysis, ONE PERSON will emerge AS PRESIDENT on the new date of 28th March 2015, but the fate of that person is in the HANDS OF GOD WHO WILL DIRECT THE ELECTORATE ON WHOM TO CAST THEIR BALLOTS FOR! *BUHARI represents the voice of the teeming millions of Nigerians, who are tired of slavery, poverty and suffering in the midst of plenty, in their Father’s land and those who have also rejected the neo-colonialist agenda of continuity of billionaire AIRCRAFT JET OWNERS, MERCENARY PRESS AGENTS, PASTORS, AND BISHOPS! A POLITICAL CONFIGURATION OF POPULAR WILL MUST PREVAIL AT THE ELECTIONS! Ahead of the 2015 General Elections in Nigeria, NINE out of the political parties with large followership, converged at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and endorsed a “NON-VIOLENCE PEACE ACCORD,” aimed at curtailing all forms of political upheavals, before, during and after results were announced! *The “Abuja Accord,” brokered by the Security Division of the Presidency and witnessed by former United Nations Secretary General, Ghana’s Kofi Anan and former British Commonwealth, Secretary General, Nigeria’s Emeka Anyaoku, canvassed for the spirit of sportsmanship which would ensure that winners were magnanimous in victory and losers accepted defeat without rancour or resorting to violence! *We are in total agreement with this innovation, (though it has no force of law), provided the letters and the spirit of the ACCORD, are religiously adhered to by all parties concerned and down to the grass root levels of the society. *Politics without bitterness is the 21st Century VOGUE among the comity of both developed and developing nations, because governance being a continuum would always provide other opportunities for all interested parties and stakeholders in the future. *The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC], has denied all security breach allegations by the Deputy Director of Department of State Services [DSS], and has vouched to conduct very free, fair, credible and peaceful elections on the appointed days of 14th and 28th February 2015, respectively! *Professor Attahiru Jega, INEC Chairman, reassured that the number of days left to distribute the Permanent Voters Cards [PVCs], before the Presidential and Legislative elections were sufficient in view of the fact that distribution had been decentralized from Local Government to Ward levels throughout the Federation adding that registered voters would not be disenfranchised provided, they made concerted efforts to collect the PVCs! *He allayed the fears of Nigerians in respect of DSS report of a HACK threat to the Commission’s DATA BASE which he categorically denied and described as a false alarm and also assured the electorate that no forged or fake PVCs were discovered by his Commission as previously alleged by DSS adding that the CARD READERS, already procured for use during the elections would definitely expose any fake PVC not printed by INEC! *The ultimate success of the 2015 General Elections is the collective responsibility of all citizens of this great country and Africa’s economic touch bearer, irrespective of political leanings or affiliations. It is encouraging that all hands are already on deck because the masses of youths who were usually ready tools in the hands of unscrupulous politician have hearkened to divine counselling to shun any form of thuggery or violence, not only during the impending elections but at any point in time during their life time! *The ONUS now rests squarely on the shoulders of our SECURITY AGENCIES – especially, THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE [NPF], (established in 1861), and which is perhaps the oldest and closest to the citizens! It is a national police force which enjoys a monopoly of that status and cannot be replicated in any part of the Federation according to Section 214 (1) of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution. *The Nigeria Police is saddled with the responsibilities to prevent and detect crimes; apprehend and prosecute offenders; ensure the preservation of law and order, including the protection of life and property and the due enforcement of all laws and regulations with which it is directly charged in accordance with such provisions as may be prescribed by an Act of the National Assembly. *Section 214 (2)(b)(c) also state that members of the Force shall have such powers and duties like forming part of the armed forces of the Federation or for the protection of harbours, waterways, railways and air fields, as may be conferred by law. *From the above listed national duties, it is very glaring the NPF is saddled with more responsibilities than the others. For instance, the Armed Forces are restricted to protecting the nation from all forms of external aggressions and at times to quell internal security challenges which the Police may not be fully equipped to handle, like the on-going terrorists attacks of the Boko Haram Sect, while the Customs and Immigrations outfits are also restricted to monitoring movement and influx of goods and services and also the human traffic along the stretch of kilometres of Nigeria’s porous borders! *During these coming elections, Nigerians have INEC’s assurances that, SOLDIERS would not be assigned to polling or voting booth areas but restricted to cities outskirts to monitor private and commercial vehicles and ensure that miscreants or political thugs were deterred from gaining access to polling areas on the election days! *We believe that the Nigeria Police, which has an enviable record and long experience in its 154 years of maintaining peace in the nation, is capable of handling all security situations and challenges during this elections flawlessly, provided there are no external interventions like, “ORDERS FROM ABOVE!” *The Force successfully policed the liberated areas during Nigeria’s unfortunate Civil War and also ranked among the best peace-keepers under the auspices of the United Nations Organisation [UNO], in the Republic of Congo, during that nation’s crisis from1963-1965, among several other international assignments over the decades. *We are aware that the Inspector General of Police will be very passionate to be impartial to favourably discharge his constitutional duties if not pressurized like it happened at the National Assembly on Thursday 20th November, 2014, when distinguished Legislators were tear-gassed by his men who were hurriedly drafted to conduct a hatchet’s job against the opposition! *What the nation needs at this time as panacea to the major insecurity challenge of insurgency is a well-coordinated synergy amongst all the security agencies to sniff and nip in the bud any attempt to use them as scapegoats by politicians to fulfil inordinate ambitions. Presently senior police officers are apologizing to Legislators at the NASS over the tear gas assault! *Character reformation among the rank and file is of utmost priority at this point in time although we are aware that some very superior police officers could be very naughty at times when they throw decorum overboard and take laws into their hands. *They needed to be reminded of the elections international monitoring groups, civil society pressure groups, non-governmental organisations, the United Nations, the European Union, Africa Union representatives, and others who would be on hand to watch this internationally-acclaimed Nigeria Police personnel which had performed creditably outside of their shores in global assignments! *The Nigeria Police Force belongs to the multitude of taxpayers with whose labour and sweat they are kitted and paid their monthly salaries and allowances! They neither belong to Peoples’ Democratic Party [PDP], nor the All Progressive Party [APC], and as such, their allegiance MUST remain with, “We the People of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”! *The Word of God says: “Let your moderation be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.” [Philippians.4:5]. According to Evans Hopkins, Apostle Paul reminded them [the Philippians] of this fact – that the Lord is nigh, standing close to them, beholding not only their outward conduct, but their inner disposition – as an incentive to their forbearance. *And to all NPF personnel, “Let your gentleness, integrity, honesty, courtesy, incorruptibility and absolute loyalty to God and the poor masses of Nigeria, who were always at the receiving end be known to all men/women of the world; assert your rights to defend your character and stand up for your reputation, because the Lord is at hand.” [Matthew.24:42-50; James. 5:8,9; 1Peter.4:7;2Peter.3:8.] *Incidents of physical attacks of both Presidential candidates of PDP and APC have been alleged, but a school of thought believes that the ruling party master-minded all attacks through some hired thugs to give the opposition a bad name since the DSS allegations fell like a pack of cards! *True or false, we advocate that the ABUJA ACCORD should remain sacrosanct because what is at stake demands that the best candidates be elected to move the country on the right course under a serene and very peaceful atmosphere! *We congratulate the Nigerian Elections Debate Group [NEDG] on their Town Hall Meeting which hosted representatives of FOUR political parties on Saturday 24th January, 2015, as a prelude to the major attractions that would involve the two major gladiators and their lieutenants. *These debates will definitely bring out qualified candidates who are able to proffer manifestoes based on issues and ideologies that would give positive meaning to the living standards of the masses! *William Pitt says, “Where law ends, tyranny begins”; Daniel Webster says, “Let our object be our country, our whole country, and nothing but our country”; and Tennyson in short poem, writes as follows: “A land of settled government, A land of just and old renown, Where Freedom broadens slowly down From precedent to precedent.” *Nigerians need a new lease of life! A break from the monotony of the past; Uncertainty, insecurity, and economic instability; Inept governance foisted with avarice; Greedy predator-politicians; Insatiable without petro-dollar green notes! *We call on the electorate to put their best ability into this 2015 elections, because Nigeria needs the best, faithful and righteous brains in the coming dispensation. You need to use your vote very wisely and honestly to secure the elections of those who are best fitted, both by character and ability to legislate and govern. *You need to bring on board, men of intelligence and good business capacities, well-fitted to deal with all matters relating to public health and conveniences; guardians of the poor and members of the legislature who must be fully competent to deal with all matters that concern national welfare! * You must not be disenfranchised! NOW IS THE APPOINTED TIME FOR THE 2015 ELECTIONS! “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under Heaven; a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”[Ecclesiastes. 3:1-8]. *Some eminent and acclaimed servants of God have suggested that the February 2015 dates, slated for Nigeria’s general elections be postponed for at least SIX MONTHS, to adequately address and defeat insurgency for fear of an escalation of terrorism because they seemed to have forgotten that the battle against Boko Haram is the LORD’s battle! Thus saith the LORD: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee with the right hand of my righteousness. “Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be shamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing: and they that strive with thee shall perish. “Thou shall seek them, and shall not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not: I will help thee.”[Isaiah.41:10-13]. *LET US BELIEVE THE TESTIMONY OF GOD RATHER THAN THAT OF MAN! *It is very imperative for children of God to appreciate DIVINE PROVIDENCE which can be interpreted to mean God’s constant touch in the affairs of men. *God’s foresight, care and attention, forethought and superintendence to ensure an expected and perfect future end for all creation, especially the regenerated and converted beings, are the major spiritual ingredients of divine providence! *The continued preservation of Nigeria as a nation since the period of amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates from 1914 to 2015 proves that God’s providence is working out all things according to the counsel of His purposive will. *This year of elections calls for collective walk of the Saints by faith and not by sight because the insurgency caused by the thoughtlessness of Boko Haram, and which had claimed up to one million innocent souls since 2009, is neither hidden nor shrouded before our creator. No! *He says that he will save this nation and contend with those who contend against us and feed them that oppress us with their own flesh and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: “…….and all flesh shall know that I the LORD ‘am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”[Isa.49:26]. *The import of this divine intervention is an indication that the battle against the perennial insecurity, especially at this turning point in our political landscape, is beyond human capability or comprehension. It is not by might nor by power but by my Spirit, says the LORD OF HOSTS![Zechariah.4:6; compare 2Chronicles.20:1-24]. *The expectation of the detractors is to witness a break-down of law and order or an outright outburst of large-scale civil disobedience that could lead to a conflagration of full-scale war but we have God’s assurance that He is in absolute and perfect control of Nigeria! *According to divine revelation, the detractors of this nation are none other than the selfish and egoist politicians within the various political parties and their accomplices who are trusting in the “advantageous” position of incumbency to retain political power at all cost! *They have perfected their strategies which they believe are infallible but forgetting that the providence of the infinite God, is the care, preservation and the government He exercises over all creation in order that they may accomplish the ends for which they were created through His eternal power which is constantly at work and which precludes all manner of human fortune, luck and chance! *In the Old Testament Book of Numbers, Chapters 22-24, are documented detailed conspiracy between an enthroned King named BALAK, his council of elders and a prophet of God, BALAAM, to abort the divine providential plan for Israel, the chosen and anointed children of God from getting to the promised land! The King described them as, a company that had licked up all that were round-about his empire, “as the ox licketh up the grass of the field”![Num. 22:1-4]. *However, Balaam who was pressurized by the King with carnal gifts was warned by God not to take up the contract because the people in question were blessed and very precious to Him, but the man of God, overwhelmed by the spirit of covetousness and the desire to get rich and become very famous, danced to the King’s orders instead of God’s! *It is very pertinent to remind every living soul in these last days of divine grace that whether Man likes it or not, THE WILL OF GOD WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN BECAUSE HE IS PRE-EMINENT AND SOVEREIGN OVER ALL CREATION! *In spite of the fact that he was spurred by greed to carry out the King’s orders, God arrested his entire intellectual capacity of soul and spirit and he took up the following parable saying: “Balak the King of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come defy Israel. “How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? Or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? “God is not a man that He should LIE, neither the son of man that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? “Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and He hath blessed: and I cannot reverse it. “He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath He seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them. “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!” [Num. 23:7,8, 19,20,21,23]. *Political campaigns in Nigeria are usually characterised with warfare, violence, brigandage, mud-slinging thuggery, murders, assassinations, arsons, the power of incumbency to perpetrate all of the above and the 2015 edition is already exhibiting such traits! *What the electorate need to hear from these candidates are campaigns based on their manifestoes, ideologies and agendas for the citizens, not that of calumny and debasement! *There are two major gladiators on the political turf, the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), but fillers from the campaign fields are indicating that the “dog wants to go back to its vomit”! There have been reported attacks on campaign trains and scores of wounded people are on admission in various hospitals in the South-South and South-West geo-political zones of the nation! Nigerians should not quickly forget that God has promised to RAISE FROM AMONG US, THE CREDIBLE MEN AND WOMEN WHO WOULD RUN A RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT IN THIS NATION FROM 2015 AND BEYOND! *They have emerged according to the purposive plan of God; the detractors have recognised them and are bent on dislodging them at all cost but what happened in 2007 and 2011, before during and after the elections would not be divinely permitted! *King Balak hired Balaam, a renowned man of God to carry out his dirty job of contending with the purposive will for His good people and he failed because no one contends with God and lives to recount the story! Balaam eventually perished in his sin and was slain in a war![Num.31 8b]. *Many unscrupulous servants of God have been contracted by modern BALAKS, in Nigeria to “fast and pray” to change the handwriting on the wall in their favour forgetting that the ultimate providence rests squarely in the Hands of the sovereign God who is very meticulous when it comes to the supervision and government over all of His creation in the universe! *Did you know that the infinite care that God takes of His creation from the numbering of each hair of each head and falling of each sparrow and the unfailing upholding of all the vast planets and satellites by His own power is nothing short of an awesome act of providence?[Matthew.10:29-31; Luke. 12: 6-7]. Hear the word of the Preacher: “Though a sinner do evil an hundred times and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before Him. “But it shall not be well with the wicked neither shall he prolong his days, which are as shadow; because he feareth not before God.” [Ecclesiastes. 8:12-13]. *Mr. President has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC], to ensure that all registered and eligible voters collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) before the general elections without fail and we believe that the electorate, armed with this mandate should be ready to perform their civic duties by also ensuring that only citizens with proven integrity and character are voted to run the affairs of the next government. Voters must shun every form of intimidation by unscrupulous politicians, avoid them like plague and vote according to their conscience. *Nigeria will definitely become the great nation that we have always envisaged, united and strengthened by God to prove both local and international detractors wrong that it is only corruption that thrives amongst us! *Our nation shall be safe from divination, enchantment and any form of the occult and men shall marvel at what God has wrought for us! *Nigerians will rise up as a great lion, lifting himself up like a young lion and will not rest until all our detractors are destroyed in their wickedness!(Num. 23:24). *Nigeria will prosper abundantly when the right candidates are voted to run the affairs of government on February 14 and 28, 2015, and the nation will transform into the most fertile regions of the world, “flowing with milk and honey” and the life of POVERTY be completely erased from the land for ever and ever! “RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTS A NATION, BUT SIN IS A REPROACH TO ANY PEOPLE”[Proverbs.14:34]. (John.8:32). 2015 – New Year Edition. AMERICA HAS NO ‘LOCUS STANDI’ TO PREDICT THE DOWNFALL OF NIGERIA! Some Americans, possibly disciples of Nostradamus, gathered at different discussion forums in 2006 and from their various cells in the United States, predicted that Nigeria, the country with the highest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) indices and most populous nation in black Africa, would BREAK-UP IN 2015! *Talk is cheap! And when it comes to international diplomacy of intrigue, competition and rivalry over who is most competent and knows it all, these types of unguarded, loose and highly condemnable utterance could emanate from any continent of peoples! *Nostradamus, a French doctor, emerged in the 16 Century as the most ambitious single prophet of modern times and issued books in which he foretold an array of impending disasters – stretching from the immediate future to the year 2000, from wars to the murder of kings and of great fires and huge naval battles! *His predictions were all based on assumptions about a phenomenon called historical disruptions, but he totally derailed and crashed when he predicted that the arrival of the anti-Christ would occur in1999 along with new plagues and famines! *According to the Bible, the anti-Christ would appear during the Great Tribulation, when all true believers in Christ would have been taken to Heaven in the spiritual event described as the RAPTURE i.e. the physical lifting up into the atmosphere to meet the Lord Jesus Christ, who would be visible in the sky to receive and usher them to God the Father! [I Thessalonians.4:13-18; compare with Matthew.24:15-22; Mark. 13: 14-19; Jeremiah.30:7; Daniel.9:27; 12:1]. *GOD IS THE OWNER OF TIMES AND EVENTS IN ALL OF HIS EARTH, THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF THE FATE OF ALL OF HIS CREATION AND THE ONLY SOVEREIGN ONE WHO CAN DISRUPT ANY HUMAN ACTIVITY AS HE SO DESIRES OR PLEASES! *The bold inscription on the United States of America coins and dollar bills is, “In God we trust”, which is the national motto of the country. The phrase derives from the line, “And this be our motto, ‘In God we trust’, in the battle song that later became the US National Anthem. *We can authoritatively and unequivocally state here, for posterity to judge that, that age-long claim by the US, is nothing short of a well-calculated RUSE and SMOKE-SCREEN of an over ambitious nation, aimed to deceive the entire world into believing their religious falsehood while they clandestinely assumed global EXPLOITATION in virtually all endeavours of life from commerce to the manufacturing industry, mining, agriculture, engineering, technology, armament, warfare, space exploration, oil and gas, AND MOST ESPECIALLY THE SECURITY SECTOR, AS THE SELF-APPOINTED POLICE NATION OF THE WORLD! *America became the, ‘Lone Super Power’, in 1991, following a master-minded and orchestrated collapse of the SOVIET UNION, which upset the balance among world super powers and made US to become significantly stronger, that year! *Both nations were allies against Nazi’s Germany during World War II, but eventually became opposing “super powers” at the end of the war due to inordinate ambitions on both sides! The US formed the Western or Capitalist Bloc while the Soviet Union formed the Eastern or Communist Bloc and subjected confederate but militarily- weaker nations to their whims and caprices to strengthen their positions through a doctrine of divide-and-rule! *They sought and acquired global influence by supporting local factions, militia groups and motley armies, to perpetrate insurgency and regional or civil wars in their countries! These two “great powers”, in a period of 40 years of “COLD WAR” (1945-1985), designed to avoid World War III, carefully plotted to outwit each other in the CHESS GAME of power superiority and from all indications, the US was able to overthrow the Soviet Union, in a bloodless coup which prompted all the COMMUNIST CONFEDERATES TO OPT FOR INDEPENDENCE, one after the other and gradually, the Eastern Communist Bloc eventually crashed in 1991! *The United States of America is globally credited with this prophecy of doom that the NIGERIAN NATION, THE GIANT OF AFRICA, WILL CEASE TO BE CALLED A DEMOCRACY BY THE YEAR 2015 based on its Central Intelligence Agency [CIA’s] 2006 report which gave the damning verdict during Obasanjo’s desperate bid for a THIRD TERM position in order to the disorganize the nation’s polity in this prophetic format: “While currently, Nigeria’s leaders are locked in a bad marriage that all dislike but dare not leave, there are possibilities that could disrupt the precarious equilibrium in Abuja “The most important will be a junior officer coup that could destabilize the country to the extent that open-warfare breaks out in many places in a sustained manner. “If Nigeria were to become a failed State, it could drag down a large part of the West African region,” according to the prediction! *Although, United States spokespersons have denied the prediction as the figment of the imaginations of the peddlers, it is on record that since it master-minded the demise of the Soviet Union, this “Lone Super Power”, had made subtle military incursions into VIETNAM, KOREA, IRAQ, IRAN, AFGANISTAN, LIBYA, SOMALIA, SUDAN, CUBA AND VERY RECENTLY GAMBIA? *It is very important to know that the 2006 break-up prediction was based on the belief that the 2007 General Elections, would be a do-or-die affair as declared by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, while their prophecy now making the rounds is predicated on the belief that the five-year-old Boko Haram terrorism would escalate without US Military assistance as Nigeria conducts the 2015 elections! *It was also claimed that Sir. Hugh Clifford, Governor General of Nigeria, between 1920-23, described the country as a collection of independent native states separated from one another by great distances, by differences of history and tradition and by ethnological, racial, tribal, political, social and religious barriers. *That in 1947, late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, described Nigeria as, “a mere geographical expression” of a colonial secret document, “The Tinubu Square Edict” or Accord of 1914, similar to the British/China Accord of Hong Kong which showed that the Nigeria experiment was meant to last for an initial 100 Years, (i.e. 1914-2014) following which, it should be reviewed. *There was another prediction by two American scholars, neither Pastors nor Prophets, who conducted what could be termed a scientific research some years back and concluded that Nigeria was most likely to break up! According to Ijaw Elder Statesman, Edwin Clark, who quoted that prediction in February, 2014, however dismissed the suggestion that Nigeria would break-up in 2015 as follows: “I don’t see Nigeria breaking up in 2015; people are just saying it because those American researchers based their postulation on the jostling for power and the small arms being imported into this country. “Now certain obnoxious statements have been made that there will be war and bloodshed if Jonathan wins or does not win the 2015 Elections. “These statements, which support the assertion by the American scholars, are not enough to break Nigeria,” he concluded! *There was yet another Security Report, entitled, “Nigerian Unity in the Balance”, authored by the ARMY WAR COLLEGE, which warned Nigerian leaders to beware of another CIVIL WAR or AN OUTRIGHT BREAK-UP! The report also states: “Having already experienced a brutal civil war, Nigeria is at risk of a recurrence of conflict or dissolution, especially since, some of the under-pinning motivations of the war remain unresolved.” *IF AMERICA IS AS GODLY AS IT CLAIMED, WHY HAS IT FAILED TO ASSIST NIGERIA TO CRUSH THE FIVE-YEAR-OLD BOKO HARAM INSURGENCY, WHICH HAS DEVASTATED THE PEOPLE AND ECONOMY OF THE NATION, SINCE IT POSSESSED THE MILITARY MIGHT TO DO SO? *The reasons are not far-fetched: (1) In the past, the US explored and exploited Crude Oil from Nigeria at great profits, but today, has no need for the crude since it became the largest oil producer in the world! (2) The US Government was able to penetrate Nigeria’s political and social fabric to master-mind those in position of authority to accept a one-sided contractual importation policy that kept the nation as import-dependent, an arrangement that was always favourable to the former! (3) The Obama Administration was unable to convince Nigeria to become a HOMOSEXUALLY PROMISCUOUS nation as obtains in AMERICA, - GOD’S OWN COUNTRY, – where MEN MARRY MEN AND WOMEN MARRY WOMEN - in this age and time! (4) The US has to apply Nigeria’s shameful global scorecard of being one of the most corrupt nation, to excuse itself from any form of further political, economic or security assistance to her! *From the ongoing analysis, it is crystal clear that no US Government Agency or Researcher would dare utter or publish sensitive security statements in respect of another sovereign nation, without the requisite or tacit approval of its principal, but US has utterly dissociated itself from any linkage with the 2015 doomsday prediction but described Nigeria as a strategic partner in Africa! *Nigeria is certainly on the right direction to prove the “YANKEES” wrong because: (1) In spite of all misgivings of the detractors, election party primaries in all 36 States have been successfully concluded; (2) ELEVEN eminent and outstanding presidential candidates and their running mates have emerged; (3) Governorship aspirants in States where elections would hold in 2015 and their running mates are on ground; (4) Legislative candidates at both Federal and State levels have also been voted; (5) The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC], assures that it was ready to conduct FREE, FAIR AND CREDIBLE ELECTIONS; (6) Mr. President has also assured the citizens that all the security agencies would be at RED ALERT to discharge faithful and righteous duties, before, during and after the elections without fear or favour; (7) He also promised to support the Armed Forces to maintain successes so far achieved over the Boko Haram insurgents and assured that the elections would hold in all the North East States, by the special grace of GOD ALMIGHTY; (8) All citizens have prayed without ceasing and made supplications before God in respect of the continuous co-existence and unity of Nigeria, to which positive answers have been divinely given! * So, America can no longer hide under the Biblical camouflage by claiming to be on the side of the LORD more than Nigeria because their spurious predictions have been divinely punctured and deflated! *THE UNITED STATES SCORECARD OF LIES AND FALSE PREDICTIONS STINK TO HIGH HEAVENS: (a) Fifty years ago, they tried very hard to overrun Communist Cuba who vehemently resisted. They imposed economic sanctions and mounted international campaign of calumny against the nation but failed all the way! They are now begging to re-establish diplomatic relations! (b) They failed in Communist Vietnam, where they wasted the lives of young American service men who had no inkling about guerrilla warfare as the Vietnams resisted modern slavery with their blood! (c) They also failed in Korea, and Somalia with all the DRONES employed in the warfare of Western power imposition! (d) They killed Sadam Husein and thousands of Iraqi soldiers, but found no weapons of mass-destruction in his territory as they alleged! (e) They killed Mua’mar Gadaffi of LIBYA and the country is still battling to maintain social order in the fragile democracy! *IN ALL OF THE ABOVE BRIGANDAGE AND ATROCITIES OF MAN’S INHUMANITY AGAINST MAN, NO NATION HAS BEEN ABLE TO CALL AMERICA WHICH HAD BITTEN MORE THAN IT CAN CHEW TO ORDER! *Now they want to destabilize and eventually destroy NIGERIA – but they have already failed woefully because our GOD who cannot be mocked has said that, “It is pay-back time….. all that the United States sowed in wickedness, they WILL reap in an avalanche of disasters that will besiege that arrogant nation! (John.8:32). 2014 - End of Year State of the Nation. THE HALL OF SHAME SHOULD NAME AND SHAME ALL CORRUPT NIGERIAN POLITICIANS! Historians and political analysts who engage in proffering peace to war and conflict issues are in agreement that neither Christianity nor Islam preaches religious violence to its adherents either by inference or by indirect encouragement but failed to establish that there is a very thin line between religious and political violence because those who perpetrate violence are members of one religious group or another! *Christians are motivated to get involved in articulate politicking because the Word of God encourages it as follows: *First, the Lord Jesus Christ is the “Child that is born” and the, “Son that is given”, on whom, “the government”, (of the world), shall be upon His shoulder and, “The Prince of Peace,” whom, “the increase of His government and peace, there shall be no end,” as documented in Isaiah 9:6-7. *Second, the Lord also commands, “occupy till I come,” [Luke.19:13; compare verses 14-25, meaning, engage in the business of commerce till I come; after all, politics is all about economics in truth; – or is there any government that does not stand on the TRIPOD manifesto of providing the enabling environment for citizens to enjoy the basic necessities of life – food, raiment and shelter, in peace and tranquillity? *Most of our daily activities are guided by Economics, which is the first point of call of every government, because all vocations, farming, oil exploration or exploitation, natural minerals excavation, textiles, automobile industry, transportation, marketing of various finished products, commodities, importation and exportation, need the deliberate and sustained effort of a righteous government to initiate and organize, to successfully create wealth for governance and for the citizens! *From creation, the individual, the organised labour groups and human governments, in their day-to-day endeavours, come under the scope of ECONOMICS, the science which studies human behaviour as a relationship between ends and scarce means which have alternative uses! *Third, in attention to their calling, Christians are exhorted to manifest with grace the different gifts: (a) “Of prophecy, let us prophesy with the proportion of faith; (b) “Of ministry, to wait on our ministering; (c) “He that teacheth, on teaching; (d) “Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation; (e) “He that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; (f) “He that ruleth, with diligence and, (g) “He that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness. [Romans.12:6-8]. “Now ye are the body of Christ and members in particular. “And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily, prophets, thirdly, teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. “Are all apostles? ..are all prophets? ..are all teachers? ..are all workers of miracles? “Have all the gifts of healing? ..do all speak with tongues ..do all interpret? “But covet earnestly, the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.” [1Corinthians.12:27-31]. *Christians are known to be wonderful event organizers but when it comes to partisan politics, they become ISOLATIONISTIC and assume PIETISM and with such attitude, allow undue, unmerited and unearned opportunities to the uncouth, semi-illiterates, the criminally-minded, ex-convicts, drug barons, oil thieves, money launderers, human traffickers, charlatans, religious and racial bigots, to hold sway in government and governance in most under-developed nations of the world! *According to that biblical parable in Luke.19:13-25, politics is serious business, which every serious Christian must endeavour to participate in because it would tantamount to an era of modern enslavement of the citizens under barbaric neo-colonialist rulers, if a Christian like the wicked servant, bury his/her “POUND IN A NAPKIN”! *Like we mentioned in the opening paragraph, there is a very thin line between RELIGIOUS AND POLITICAL VIOLENCE and therefore, great care must always be taken by religious and political leaders to PREACH THE PEACE MESSAGE to their adherents at all times! *To most average Muslims for instance, the two institutions (Religion and Politics), are one and the same thing because of the political homogeneity that pervades the Islamic Faith as a result of the religious unity to which they have been accustomed since the very popular Jihad movement of USMAN DAN FODIO in the 19 Century. Alhaji Dan Fodio was a scholar, teacher and preacher of no mean order who influenced that Islamic Faith and Laws should be practiced faithfully by those who profess the faith with the aid of SHARIA, the Muslim Law-Book. *Jihad in Islam means, a holy war, usually declared on pagans and idol worshippers of that period who refused to practice THE PURE ISLAMIC FAITH AS ENSHRINED IN THE HOLY QUR’AN. Between the18th and 19 Centuries, Jihad took place in the Sudan, Middle East and some parts of Northern Nigeria, where several cities, towns and districts came under religious leaders, who introduced Islamic laws into governance and the character of Jihad also assumed a political dimension! *All politicians are religious people and they are duty-bound to ensure undisrupted peace and serenity in the polity at all times. * Why should Nigerian Christians avoid politics like it were an infectious plague while their Muslim brethren embrace same with great passion? The answer is very clear in view of previous exposition in respect of ignorance and fear of most of most Christians, who believe that politics in African countries, especially in Nigeria is very dirty, filthy, risky, murky, dangerous and practiced by indecent people of questionable characters! *We have had some of our Muslim brethren boast that Northern Nigeria would always dictate the political, tempo in this country and we can vehemently affirm that they could be very correct , if God so permits! Do we need remind ourselves that politics is a game of numbers? Let us check the statistics: *Except for late General Aguiyi-Ironsi and Retired General Olusegun Obasanjo, who took over from late General Murtala Mohammed, all former Heads of State and Presidents, during the Military and Democratic governance in Nigeria, were of the Northern extraction, including late Umaru Musa Yar’Ardua (2007-2010) *The second- coming of Chief Obasanjo as a civilian and the victory of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan at the pools in 2011, was majorly sponsored and overwhelmingly supported by the Northern electorate through the grace of God! Now the stage is set for yet another General Elections in 2015, between the two major political parties, APC and PDP and by implication, between the North and the South! *HOW DID THE NIGERIAN NATION FARE, POLITICALLY, SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY IN 2014? (1)The unabated state of insecurity of the nation due to the Boko Haram terrorism in the last FIVE YEARS, has naturally taken the front burner! It is believed that over half a million lives have been lost! *Statistics of Internally Displaced Persons [IDPs] have risen astronomically to about 5.1 million across all the Northern States and Abuja! (2) 2014 began with the illegal Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s), Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), flexing political muscles against Bamanga Tukur, the party’s Chairman whom they eventually forced to resign on 15 January! He was replaced on 20 January by Ahmed Muazu, former Governor of Bauchi State. (3)Government dirty deals within the Oil Sector were exposed by an EXECUTIVE WHISTLE BLOWER of no mean personality – Sanusi Lamido Sanusi - the erstwhile Governor of the Central Bank and now the 14 Emir of the ancient city of Kano, who disclosed that a total sum of $48.9billion US dollars was either missing or unremitted by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), to the Federation Account! At the end of the uproar which ensued, both Sanusi and the Finance Minister, agreed that the actual amount missing was $20billion, which President Jonathan promised to fish out! As at today 28 December, 2014, the probe panel set up by government to unravel the mysterious disappearance of the said $20billion, is yet to submit its report! (4) 2014 will also go down in annals of history as a profound year for OPEN LETTERS! Former President Obasanjo published an Open Letter which castigated President Jonathan’s administration as the most corrupt and inept kind that ever governed Nigeria. (5) Jonathan in his Open Letter denied all allegations and labelled Obasanjo as a LIAR! (6) Iyabo Obasanjo, former first daughter, in yet another Open Letter described her father as the worst in the universe and several other open letters were published by politicians against themselves or the system until the idea lost its flavour! (7)Party defections became a cross-country athletic event as politicians had a field day without INEC giving any RED CARD to competitors! (8) FOUR controversial defectors caught the attention of the Editorial Board namely: *Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, who, on retirement after eight years in office jumped ship into PDP – without followers and has become a liability to himself and his new romance! *Olusegun Mimiko, the only sitting Governor of Ondo State of the Labour Party, moved with his cabinet into PDP and has created a rift between loyal PDP members of the State and the defectors! *Ali Modu Sherif, two-term Governor of Bornu State, recently fingered as one of the sponsors of Boko Haram insurgency, also jumped ship to PDP! *Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, did the impossible – he did not just jump ship from PDP to All Progressive Congress (APC), but also maintained his position as Speaker in spite all fire power of the presidency! (9) Also generating controversies in this out-going year are the manipulated and acrimonious party primaries which cut across board among all political parties and are giving both the Judges and INEC sleepless nights! (10) In the middle of the year, 14 June, the opposition party APC announced the appointment of its Chairman Chief John Odigie Oyegun, a former Edo State Governor, through consensus, despite opposition from Chief Tom Ikimi, also from the same State, who desperately wanted the position for himself – he later defected to the PDP! (11) The year also witnessed an avalanche of protests against the deployment of Federal Government Security Agents to harass and intimidate the supposed political enemies of President Jonathan! (12) All economic mathematics of Finance Minister in respect of Highest GDP and buoyant Nigerian economy have crashed like a pack of cards as the year runs out from September when global oil price fell from $100 US dollars to $55 and all economic permutations in respect of th2015 Annual Budget also crumbled! *In spite of this calamity, the Finance Minister went ahead to predicate the 2015 Budget Benchmark Oil Price at $65US dollars, by projecting that global oil prices would pick up in the new year! *Much as we do not quarrel with her optimism, we need to emphasize that the nation’s fiscal position, is now more precarious with this ambitious position in the face of sluggish global demand for crude oil. (13) Although the 2015 General Elections are only one-and-a-half months away, millions of ELECTORATE MAY BE DISENFRANCHISED BECAUSE THEY ARE YET TO COLLECT THEIR PERMANENT VOTERS CARDS (PVCs), across the nation! (14) A new Executive whistle blower emerged shortly before Christmas, in the person of Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo, who disclosed to the world that, $30 billion US dollars Excess Crude Oil , money is missing from the illegal account which is alien to the 1999 Nigerian Constitution! *The Governor claimed that no money was dispensed from the fund to the States and the Federal Government could not account for the missing amount yet! (16) Even as the year is only three days, from the day of this publication, to end, politicians are still try to overheat the polity as if of all of the above have not constituted an OVERLOAD FOR OUR NASCENT DEMOCRACY……THEY ARE SAYING THAT NIGERIAN SOLDIERS CAN ALSO PROTEST! *Do we need to play into the hands of the prophets of doom who crave for Nigeria’s break-up and downfall? Do we need to encourage ANARCHY AND MUTINY? * In spite of all the misgivings of 2014, we strongly believe there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel! *WHEN MEN SHALL SAY THERE IS A CASTING DOWN, WE WILL SAY THAT THERE IS A LIFTING UP! * We strongly support President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in his valedictory 2014 clarion call for the establishment of A NIGERIAN HALL OF SHAME – where biometric data of all bad citizens, like Armed and Pen Robbers, Corrupt Politicians, Economic and Financial Crime defaulters, etc, would be well-documented and exhibited for posterity, to serve as deterrent against criminal behaviours by the up-coming generation. *The Word of God says: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you.” [Matthew.6:33]. *Well said and well done Mr. President, but CHARITY MUST BEGIN AT HOME! (John.8:32). 2014 Christmas Edition. TO COMPARE JESUS CHRIST WITH AN UNRIGHTEOUS MERE MORTAL IS BLASPHEMOUS AND SACRILEGIOUS! Before the recently concluded election primaries of Nigerian political parties, SEVEN Federal Ministers resigned their plum appointments to seek for ‘higher’ senatorial and governorship positions, but only one of them with Mrs. First Lady’s tacit support, got lucky in Rivers State! Unfortunately, the others who have joined the Labour Market are dusting up their credentials for new opportunities. Can one then fail to understand the plight of unmarketable political appointees who are now singing the praise of their Paymaster with the highest pitch in other to be re-appointed in case he got re-elected? One of the crooners, ‘Doyin Okupe, Senior Special Assistant – Public Affairs, sang the wrong refrain during the week when he purred the following lyrics: “Nobody knows the trouble he bears; Nobody knows Goodluck’s sorrows; Nobody knows the trouble Ebele bears; Glory Hallelujah… Sometime Azikiwe’s up, Sometime Jonathan is down; Sometime he’s in the valley of despair; Nobody knows the burden he bears, Nobody knows his terrible pains; Nobody knows how he groans, Glory Hallelujah….!” According to this political jobber, people do not understand the burden, this President is bearing; “He’s bearing the burden of Nigeria as, JESUS CHRIST bore the burden of the World,” he unequivocally quivered! *What a brazen blasphemy; what an outburst from a typical man of the earth, a display of carnal whoredom, a sacrilegious vituperation of a sadistic mind! Which mere mortal could be compared with the Son of God, whose virgin birth through the Holy Ghost remains the greatest mystery that is beyond human comprehension! In a very clear and unambiguous declaration, the Bible says: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither your ways my ways, declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher that the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” [Isaiah. 55:8-9]. *Okupe’s refrain was no doubt the product of an unregenerate mind, seared with hot iron; and this was confirmed in one of the publications in which he confessed that he was not sure of being a ‘born again’ Christian! [John.3:3-8]. *If he were, he would have read the Holy Bible and discovered that God the Father, (the God Head), God the Son, (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit, [i e. God The Trinity], created, the heaven, earth, all organic and inorganic elements and Man. [Genesis. 1:1-2:25]. *HE WOULD ALSO HAVE LEARNT THAT GOD THE FATHER AND GOD THE SON, ARE ONE AND THE SAME SPIRIT BEING AND SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN COMPARED TO A MERE UNRIGHTEOUS MORTAL LIKE GOODLUCK JONATHAN WHO TOLD THE WHOLE WORLD THAT HE WOULD NOT CONTEST THE 2015 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, BUT HAS SURREPTITIOUSLY EMERGED AS THE CONCENSUS AND SOLE CANDIDATE OF HIS VEXATIOUS PARTY THAT SWIMS IN CORRUPTION WITH IMPUNITY! [John.5:17-24; 14:6-20]. *The Lord Jesus Christ never told a LIE, He was sinless, pure, holy, righteous, honourable, incorruptible, perfect, distinguished, very outstanding and impeccable! *The first verse of the Bible introduced GOD as the creator of the heaven and the earth and not with philosophic contentions over His existence! From Genesis, the Bible bears witness to the Self-sufficient God, who speaks and acts in consistency with Himself and with the total revelation concerning Him in the entire 66 Books, written by some 44 writers within a period of 2000years! *The story of humanity in relation to God is the continuous story of the Bible and its central theme is Jesus Christ who is manifested as God in the flesh! “Great is the mystery of godliness, God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of Angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world and received up unto glory.” [1Timothy.3:16]. *His sacrificial death and His resurrection constitute the gospel of salvation which is the ultimate expression of God’s unflinching love for mankind! “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”[John.3:16]. * Jesus Christ, Son of God, Son of Man, Son of Abraham, Son of David, thus binds the many books into one Book and the topmost priority of His mission to the world was to reconcile the rebellious Man back to his Creator at the very great price of His precious blood shed at Calvary, over 2000 years ago! *Did you know that the whole family in heaven and on earth is named after God and that the word, ‘family’, applies to all free moral off-spring of God – whether by direct creation, begetting, or adoption – past, present and future. [Read, Ephesians.3:14-21]. *THEREFORE, GOD IS THE DIVINE INSTITUTION WHOM ALL OF MANKIND MUST WORSHIP, REVERE, FEAR AND RELIGIOUSLY OBEY HIS HOLY LAWS, STATUTES, COMMANDMENTS AND PRECEPTS WITH DILLIGENT ALERTNESS OF BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT, BECAUSE HIS SPIRITUAL IDENTITY AND EXISTENCE, IS REAL AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN DOUBT! *The God who made the world and everything in it is the LORD of Heaven and Earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. *From one man, He made every nation of men that they should inhabit the earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. *God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live and move and have our being. We are His offspring! *But there are many FAITHS AND PHILOSOPHIES IN THE WORLD: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Jewish Cabalism, Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC), Hermetic, Free Masonry, Paganism, Epicureans, Stoics, Rosicrucian Fraternity, Grail Movement, Gnostics; are only but a few. *In spite of all human philosophies and scientific deductions in respect of the wonders of the universe and the supreme, supernatural power behind all the marvels of the Sun, Moon and Stars hanging there in the firmament, people of all Faiths believe in a divine existence which some describe as MYSTERIOUS! *The Christian Holy Bible says: “We all like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him, [Jesus Christ], the iniquity of us all. [Isaiah. 53:6]. *CHRISTMAS is celebrated all over the world to commemorate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ by whom were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions or principalities, or powers, all things were created for him and by him! And He is before all things and by Him all things consist. *DECEMBER 25, 2014, IS ANOTHER COMMEMORATION OF THE BIRTH OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, WHEN ALL OF CREATION SHOULD REJOICE FOR THIS WONDERFUL GIFT OF GOD’S SALVATION TO THE WORLD! “For unto us a child is born, unto us a child is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father; The Prince of Peace. “Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth and even forever. “The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” [Isaiah.9:6-7]. *The central theme of the Holy Bible is Jesus Christ whose birth the whole world celebrates annually at Christmas and His death and resurrection at Easter. *As the Seed of the woman, (Genesis. 3:15), Jesus Christ is the ultimate destroyer of Satan and his works. *As the Seed of Abraham, He is the benefactor of the world; [Gen.12:3; compare, 17:19]; *As Seed of David, He is King of Israel, “desire of all nations” (Haggai.2:6-7). *As we celebrate Christmas, let us remember that the Lord Jesus Christ has fulfilled His Ministry on earth and is now in the most exalted position at the right hand of God the Father in heaven. He is Head over all to the CHURCH, which is His Body; while to Israel and all nations of the world, the promise of His return forms the one and only rational expectation that humanity will yet fulfil itself. (Acts of the Apostles. 1:11). *While we wait as members of the body of Christ, we should edify ourselves with the words of the MOST RIGHTEOUS ONE who promised, “I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also,” and to Him whom the Holy Spirit throughout this Church Age bears testimony. [John.14:3; 17:24; Revelation. 1:1-2]. *Doyin Okupe slandered against our Lord Jesus Christ, he used his tongue to defame, abuse, scandalize, belittle and blacken the holy and righteous character and pedigree of our God because of 30 PIECES OF JUDAS’S SILVER and must be ready to face the consequences of his deceitful tongue! [Exodus. 23:1; Psalm. 52:2-5]. *Jesus Christ became the Son of Man that we might become the sons of God. He was born of a peasant woman in an obscure village with neither wealth nor influence, training nor education, yet in infancy he startled the wise men and kings, puzzled doctors and professors of law. During His divine Ministry, He healed multitudes without medicine and without charging fees! He never wrote a book, yet all the libraries of the world could not hold the books that could be written about Him, He never wrote a song, yet He has furnished the theme of more songs than all song writers combined. He never founded a college, yet all the colleges together cannot boast of as many students as He! *Jesus Christ was rich, yet for your sakes, He became poor! Popular opinion turned against Him, He was betrayed and turned over to His enemies and went through the mockery of a trial and nailed to the CROSS between two thieves! * But in spite of all His travails, all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built, all the parliaments that ever sat, all kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of Man as powerfully as has this one outstanding and exemplary life worthy of emulation! *Great men have come and gone, but the Lord Jesus Christ lives on! Death could not destroy Him! The grave could not hold Him! * “Behold, the world is gone after Him; “Let us also go; “If thou seek Him, He will be found of thee.” [John 12:19; 11:16; 1 Chronicles.28:9]. *Prophet Isaiah in his prediction of the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ, puts it this way: *O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say onto the cities of Judah, BEHOLD YOUR GOD!” [Isaiah. 40: 9-10]. * If we are truly the offspring of GOD, this period of the commemoration of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ is best to re-appraise our spiritual life and focus more on things above and no longer on mundane things of the earth, so that when Christ who is our life shall appear, then shall we also appear with Him in glory. *We all need to mortify, put to death, whatever belongs to our earthly nature, sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry because the WRATH OF GOD is set to descend upon all defaulters. We must also rid ourselves of such negative attitudes as anger, rage, malice, slander and filthy language from our lips! *In the past, God overlooked such ignorance, but now HE COMMANDS ALL PEOPLE EVERYWHERE TO REPENT! FOR HE HAS SET A DAY WHEN HE WILL JUDGE THE WORLD WITH JUSTICE BY THE MAN, (JESUS CHRIST), WHOM HE HAS APPOINTED! *HE has given proof of this to all men by RAISING HIM FROM THE DEAD! *JESUS CHRIST IS ALIVE! HE IS ALIVE TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER! If you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, don’t miss this great opportunity as you pray this prayer: Lord Jesus; I confess that I am a sinner who needs to be saved through the grace of the New Testament of your Blood, shed on the Cross at Calvary; I renounce every sin in my life and accept you as my Lord and Saviour.
