100th EDITION

NIGERIA MUST NEVER NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS!

The driving forces behind the economies of world powers like America, Britain, France and Russia are the strong, reliable and dependable security institutions structured to fight crimes, criminalities and create conducive business environment for smooth governance! These institutions were deliberately planned and established over the years to uphold the tenets of democracy and entrench the judicial exercise of rule of law! They are the security organizations legally constituted and saddled with specific duties and responsibilities of ensuring that the letters and spirit of the social contracts with the citizens remained sacrosanct! In other disciplines like education, medicine, finance/accounting, engineering, science/technology and peace/conflict resolutions, there are also institutionalised credible organisations of world repute which have carved their niche and are no push-over! We will restrict this piece to the imperative but very sensitive operations of Security/Intelligence gathering and Counter Terrorism Institutions because of their integrated significance to the very existence of any polity!

*Establishments like the London Metropolitan Police, MI5, The Scotland Yard, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Israeli Defence Force (IDF), Israeli Intelligence Agency (Mossad), US Army and Navy Seals and a host of others are strong institutions which have outlived Heads of States, Presidents, Kings and Queens, and Captains of Industries. *The London Metropolitan Police successfully tracked down two thieving Nigerian Governors, one of whom is still serving jail terms in London prisons with some members of his family. *The greatest hostage rescue in history code-named “Operation Entebbe,” was achieved by the Israeli Army which successfully released 102 Israeli and Jewish hostages during the famous Ugandan Entebbe Airport, night rescue operation which lasted for 90minutes on 4th July, 1976! A week earlier on 27th June, an Air France plane with 248 passengers was hijacked by members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the German Revolutionary Cells and flown to Uganda. *It very instructive to note that with all the recent threats of nuclear genocide by IRAN against ISRAEL, the Jewish nation (with its scores of very strong security and intelligence institutions) had remained unperturbed but warned its aggressor of the shame of imminent and consequences of defeat in the event of any attack! *It on record that this same Iran engaged IRAQ (a sovereign State as Israel) in some war of attrition for over ten years but could not prevail!

*Shortly before the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 Twin Towers and other simultaneous attacks on the United States, a high level, top secret combined US Security Operatives, trapped and killed the supposedly invincible Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda terrorist acclaimed leader who had escaped several arrests, at a remote location in Pakistan. Nineteen militants associated with the Islamic extremist group hijacked and commandeered four commuter airliners jets which they converted to guided missiles to carry out suicide attacks against targets in the United States on September 11, 2001: *Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Centre in New York City; *A third plane hit the Pentagon nerve centre of the US military just outside Washington D.C. and caused devastating inferno that led to the structural collapse of a portion of the giant concrete building killing 125 military personnel and civilians in the Pentagon along with all 64 passengers aboard the ill-fated airliner! *The fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania on that deadliest day in the history of the United States as a nation! Although the synchronized simultaneous attacks of 9/11 in which over 3000 people, 400 Police Officers and Fire Fighters were killed, dealt a devastating blow on the military prowess, shook the intelligence network sagacity of the United States Government to its very foundation and forced a dent on its acclaimed status as a World Power, President George W. Bush did not yield to the Islamic terrorists al-Qaeda demands to release their very dangerous members, detained in several cells in the US! *The following were some of the terrorist grouses against the US Government: Firstly, they accused the US of supporting Israeli political interests against the Palestinians’; Secondly, al-Qaeda accused US of involvement in the Persian Gulf War triggered by Late Iraqi leader, Saddam Hussein who aggressively annexed the neighbouring State of Kuwait to his country early August 1990, and which eventually attracted Western Nations intervention allied coalition forces led by US Army in January 1991! Thirdly, the terrorists criticized US continued Military presence in the Middle East. *Do these haters of peace and of organized societies have the “loci” (any particular position) to challenge the authority and sovereignty of legitimate States organised and by credible, legal and constitutional minds and have become Republics for ages?

Can the Republic of Nigeria boast of strong security intelligence and counter terrorism institutions of the likes of their foreign counterparts? We hardly think so for such reasons as political partisanship to which the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Police Force have been immersed since 1966! They virtually took over the political space as military Heads of State, Regional and State Governors, Military Administrators, State Commissioners, Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) - one of them even wore the toga of military President! In the process of about 30years Nigeria built up a very strong Military/Civilian Joint Task Force (MCJTF) and in almost 55 years of Independence from the British Colonial masters, the country still grapples with the challenges of insurgency and terrorism and how to overcome the pride and brazen effrontery of Boko Haram sponsors and financiers! We believe it was high time that the new Administration of President Buhari give marching orders to the Defence/Police High Commands to re-build, re-organize refurbish and re-orientate the Armed Forces/Police and transform them to the strong institutions of international repute for which they were identified before Independence and into the first five years of freedom from Britain! Nigeria needs to build up strong institutions out of the existing Armed Forces Commandos, the intelligence gathering and anti-crime agencies of the Special Secret Service (SSS), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the Nigeria Police Mobile Force and the Highway Patrol network across the nation, and fund them adequately in order to win the ongoing war against the Boko Haram terrorists!

* Any form of negotiation with terrorist will be a big slap on the face of the new, combined, formidable, determined, re-invigorated and encouraged security team, under the watchful eyes of Mr. President who is the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria! How can the Boko Haram terrorists Cell which had destroyed thousands of lives, properties worth billions of naira and placed citizens on the edge for over a period five agonizing years brazenly turn round to demand release of detained ranking leaders of the militant group in prison incarceration in exchange for more than 200 girls earlier abducted between 2013-2014 in the war-torn North-East States of Bornu, Yobe and Adamawa! *The news making rounds is that President Muhammadu Buhari, a retired military General of great experience, could be willing to use the BAIT as a link to open a channel of dialogue and negotiation with the ruthless terrorists who slaughtered Nigerians citizens irrespective of age, religion, tribe, culture or gender like animals and posted such horrible and heinous crimes against humanity on internet videos and we opine that neither President Buhari nor any Nigerian Government Security Agency, individual or group, should ever dialogue or negotiate with Boko Haram terrorists for the following cogent, reasonable and truthful reasons: This terror group is on REVENGE MISSION. In October 2014, when the militants structure had virtually collapsed for shortage of military hardware supplies, their sponsors deceived the failed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Administration into a cease-fire agreement only to re-equip, refurbish, re-organize and re-group to unleash further havoc on the populace of that region! Chadian President was said to have negotiated on behalf of that administration at an Saudi Arabia location but from denials and rebuttals, it turned out to be a hoax and an easy avenue of BLOOD MONEY for the purported “negotiators”! Whosoever sponsored this new dialogue venture is a “mole” who wants to cash-in on the President’s inaugural speech which promised proper attention to the Chibok School girls issue with express dedication of resources at securing their release. Over 600 people have been killed since that inauguration speech; should they have killed more people before seeking the direction of negotiation? Between Saturday 4th, and Tuesday 7th July, 2015, alone, 400 deaths were recorded when terrorist suicide bombers struck in some remote villages of Bornu State, attacked a church in Potiskum, Yobe State, detonated twin bombs in Plateau State and also another attack in Zaria, Kaduna State. Let us assume Boko Haram key leaders are exchange as requested, what next? Would they go into limbo? Would they surrender or cease fire? The militants are out to BUY TIME and re-equip like previous times but this is the time to deal the decisive blow on these enemies of Nigeria, their sponsors and collaborators. What becomes of the Commander role of Nigeria in the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) to which it is a signatory and to which millions of US dollars have been committed? Should our friendly neighbours who have shown such solidarity just pack their bags and baggage and return to their homelands while we negotiate with revengeful and unrepentant terrorists? God forbid! How had the United States, Britain, Israel and other serious foreign countries in Europe and Asia coped with insurgency and terrorism issues in their various nations without dinning with their enemies? The answer is simple; they built, sponsored and financed formidable security and intelligence gathering institutions of patriotic, fearless and dedicated men and officers who were well-motivated, as expressed in the opening analysis, to take extreme defence measures to defend their countries and citizens-even with their blood when unavoidable! These governments appropriate quality monies into the Defence, Security and Intelligence gathering sectors of their economies, procure, employ and install the latest, newest and top grade state-of-art technological equipments like the Satellite-controlled Close Circuit Television (CCTV), cameras, metal and bomb detectors, in all government structures, on the highways, streets, motor parks, amusement and fun-centres, including all shopping malls and open markets, public conveniences in all locations up to the rural areas! In addition these governments subsidized customized versions of these security gadgets, especially the CCTV cameras for all private and commercial residences, schools hospitals and health care centres!

The United States has 50 independent States and none is bereft of these the security devices that have helped to prevent, detect and solve crimes in its 239 years of independence! *Boston, Massachusetts marathon race bombing of 15th April, 2013 should serve as a recent and latest case study in crime detection through modern technology of the CCTV surveillance cameras which captured the two bombers before the dastard act was committed and was therefore faster to identify their get-away vehicle in which one of them died in a shoot-out with the police while the other who has now been sentenced to death was arrested within the vicinity three days later! We have on credible authority that a whooping sum of $470million US dollars was appropriated by the last PDP Administration to install CCTV cameras in the city centre including all the nooks and crannies of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), but to the surprise of the world at large, because neither images, photos nor surveillance video of the suicide bombers who invaded Abuja City and the satellite rural settlements for almost three consecutive years were recorded - they were mere elephant projects used to siphon monies from government vault into private pockets! It is not certain that official CCTV surveillance cameras are working successfully anywhere across the nation for the purposes of crime prevention and detection! This is Nigeria’s opportunity to go for the “KILL” and smash the Boko Haram Cell once and for all! They must not be allowed to regroup; their food supply network must be identified and blocked; their arms and ammunition supplies including communication links must be intercepted and cut off; they must not be given any breathing space at all! *We are aware that the erstwhile Chief Security Officer (CSO), has some explanations for President Buhari over the last 2014 One billion dollars appropriation for military hardware and the other tranche of $9.3 million dollars hard currencies now in the custody of the South African Government which suspected a crime of money laundering, the Commander-In-Chief, must as a matter of utmost priority release funds to his trusted military top notch through due process to address the very urgent supply of security hard and soft ware of CCTV and metal and bomb detectors, thermal imaging, etc., to the North East for faster intelligence gathering and crime detection to crush these enemies of the State of Nigeria without further delay! “If God be for us, who can be against us?” The Islamic terrorist groups of Syria and Libya are not spared by the US Army and the combined Arab Security Forces, because all these countries have developed their security institutions over the years to defend their citizens and territorial integrity whenever threatened! If you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, don’t miss this great opportunity as you pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus; I confess that I am a sinner who needs to be saved through the grace of the New Testament of your Blood, shed on the Cross at Calvary; I renounce every sin in my life and accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive me and write my name in the Book of Life. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, you have been admitted into the family of sons and daughters of God, who are born-again. Congratulations.

Please look forward to more divine revelation in the next edition of Zion B-BC Newsletter as you share this with friends and remain blessed in the Lord.

ZION B-BC NEWSLETTER. [ A Publication of the Zion Faith Bible-Believing Church, Kpeyegyi, Abuja Nigeria. ] { VOL. 3. NO 99. 05-07-15.} “…ONLY The Truth, Will Set You Free! (John.8:32).

ARE APC’s DEFIANT LEGISLATORS CONSTITUTION COMPLIANT?

The presidential system adopted through Nigerian Constitutions since 1979 is of a federal structure which allows for a reasonable amount of autonomy of the three arms of government (Legislature, Executive, and Judiciary), which duties and responsibilities dove-tail into one another.

The legislature makes laws for compliance by all members of the society; the executive enforces the laws, while the judiciary interprets the laws. No arm is independent of the other in order to avoid or prevent excesses that might arise in the discharge of their various constitutional responsibilities.

For instance, for the executive to function optimally, it needed to be guided by laws that are formulated by the legislature. These laws would then need assent of the President who heads the executive to become Acts of Parliament that would guide national affairs. The judiciary which interprets the laws becomes the arbiter in instances of disputes between the executive and the legislature! This political arrangement guarantees that the three arms can be checkmated by one another to prevent a highly-centralised political power bloc in any arm or create avenue for overstepping their bounds or authorities while discharging functional and legitimate constitutional duties! Chapter IV, Section 40 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, stipulates that individual fundamental rights include “right to peaceful assembly and association for the protection of his interests” but apologists of the incumbent controversial principal officers at the National Assembly (NASS) have continuously hammered on one harmful thought, that the process that brought the ambitious men to office was a CLEAR MANIFESTATION OF THE FREEDOM OF DEMOCRACY AT ITS BEST FORM, because the Legislature was independent of All Progressives’ Congress (APC’s), Party supremacy while omitting the fact that the defiant group was not elected as independent candidates but on APC’s political platform! This wicked line of thought no doubt was flaunted to discredit the very foundation of the freedom of association which allows for equal rights and opportunities for every member of such co-operative organisation like a political party in which unified rights are expressed for collective gains and successes. Victory for APC at the recently concluded 2015 General Elections was not for an individual interest group or faction but a collective one for the party as one united body! Therefore, it would amount to sabotage, abuse of the political due process and an insult to the collective sensibilities of other party faithful for some group to break away to actualize inordinate ambitions of imposed leadership positions as it had turned out at the National Assembly (NASS), as opposed to Party’s consensus! *In his inaugural speech, President Buhari said he would not succumb to the whims and caprices of anyone in making policy decisions for good governance and that he was ready to work with the Legislature and its elected principal officers, without personal interference in the processes of their election, but never said that party supremacy should be sidelined, ignored or abused as it has turned out to be! Is it not an irony of fate that acts of indiscipline, impunity, disobedience to constitutional provisions, corruption, lack of due process in fiscal responsibility and accountability, greed, avarice and self-aggrandizement, which were the hallmarks of past administrations, have reared their ugly and horrible heads at a time when Nigerians looked forward to CHANGE of attitude in governance, character reformation and re-orientation? The diversionary scenario being witnessed is nothing short of a clandestine move to discredit APC’s leadership mandate and capabilities through the infiltration of strange political doctrines of the apologists of the erring faction!

Among the Aims and Objectives under Article 7 of the Constitution of All Progressives Congress (APC), officially registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and dated 19th December, 2013, are the following clauses: To sponsor eligible candidates and canvass for votes for elections into all elective offices in all tiers of government. Comment: APC fulfilled these obligations during the 2015 Legislative elections by requesting the Electorate to vote for the Party and not for the individual candidates that were fielded in other to ensure collective victory for the party as one unified body! To continuously pursue the implementation of the policies and programmes of the party through those of its members that are appointed or elected into government, legislative houses and Boards throughout the Federation. To promote and uphold the practice of internal democracy at all levels of The Party’s organisation. To institutionalize, maintain and foster representative democracy, discipline and strict observance of the Rule of Law in the Federation of Nigeria. Comment: The legislative faction that is now opposed to internal party democracy/supremacy was signatory to the above objectives!

Article 9 and 9.1, deal with Membership, and Eligibility/Registration, which stipulate that APC was open to any citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who had attained the age of 18 years and who accepted the aims and objectives of the Party provided that such a person was not a member of any other political party or any organisation whose policies and programmes were inconsistent with those of the Party.

9.2: Rules and Obligations: Members of the Party shall be obliged to affirm the Party’s aims and obligations and conduct themselves in a manner that shall not bring the party to public odium and disrepute and shall also observe the rules and regulations embedded in the Party’s Constitution.

9.3. (4): Rights and Privileges: Where a group or association joins the Party the Party shall welcome the group or association, but each member of such group or association shall register INDIVIDUALLY at their respective wards. Comment: We have taken the pains to educate all and sundry in respect of the true perspectives of the ideologies, constitutional provisions, the unambiguous, and established statutes (though we are non-partisan), which APC stands for and which we believe the Party was resolved to render with an unparalleled, patriotic and selfless service to the down-trodden! These ideals which are poised to re-kindle a deep sense of patriotism and spirit of nationalism in all Nigerians deserved a better deal than what had been exhibited thus far by “distinguished parliamentarians” in the last one month of the new administration! There was no portion of APC’s Constitution which expressly stated that any member was an ISLAND to himself or herself and could operate outside the confines of that legal and binding document.

It is therefore very imperative for the ruling Party to put its acts together and resolve this imbroglio by stopping the mouth of the “do-gooders, armchair critics and self-appointed apologists” who had ulterior motives to divide and create dents through which they could penetrate and destroy the very foundation of this divinely established administration!

Did it ever occur to the apologists that the surreptitious election of Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (PDP’s), Ike Ekweremadu as Senate Deputy President was a strategic plan to infiltrate the rank and file of the APC’s Legislators in the Red Chambers and create the divisions that would be beneficial to PDP? How did Ali Ndume sail through to become Majority Leader instead of Ahmed Lawan who was constitutionally elected through APC’s Party primaries for the post if not for the PDP’s strategy that was in place?

President Buhari met with some members of the feuding legislators on 1st July, 2015, with a view to resolving the unwarranted assault against the party structures that supported them to achieve their political dreams! At the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), meeting held on Friday, 3rd July, 2015, and which was attended by the Chairman, all APC Governors and the unconstitutionally-imposed principal officers of the National Assembly, he re-emphasized APC’s determination to sanitize the polluted and corrupted political environment inherited from past administrations and advised all members to respect PARTY SUPREMACY!

Although the Nigerian Electorate has been assured that a permanent and lasting solution would have been proffered to the “teething problem” before resumption of plenary on 21st July, 2015, they needed to be told the following HOME TRUTHS: That they had constituted odium to Party principles and shame to CHANGE ideology! That they were still masquerading in the garb of their former political party (PDP), and could not blend into the new order! Was it not very glaring that they were intoxicated by accumulated financial and material political gains with which they pulled off that stunt against their Party because “empty mouths would not make crunching noises”! APC’s Constitution to which they were signatories harped on Party Discipline and Party Supremacy over all members, including Mr. President; why would they constitute “the leaven that pollutes the dough”? The political scenario being witnessed is that of the Proud who had no fear of God and would desire and relish only in transient positions of authority to the detriment of the best or most qualified and most acceptable to the party or society; otherwise, why such desperation which involved the support of external forces to sabotage Party’s principles and ideologies with so much ignominy? Their antecedents revealed they were no mean men; - some of them were ex-governors of two-consecutive terms in office, while others were Chairmen of “juicy Committees” of NASS in the past 12 years and we are still counting! Is it not very glaring that the major driving force behind these very ambitious politicians is the love of money and more money which the Word of God says, is the root of all evil! We would not be surprised if in the nearest future, the Guinness World Book of Records spotlighted any of them as being richer than Nigeria!

*It is on record that the outlandish severance allowances of Governors in Nigeria included, but not limited to the following items: Two magnificent fully-furnished mansions, one in the State Capital and another in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Between N200-370million naira annual salary for life! Free medical service for life! Full paid annual vacation! Two state-of-the-art-vehicles, a Sports Utility Vehicle and a Saloon car. Numerous aides on State’s payroll! The same unreasonable, unjustifiable, insensitive and immoral severance allowances were also claimed by Legislative principal officers and others, who “retired” from office from 30th May, 2015, while workers, pensioners, teachers remain unpaid for months! Some of our fellow Nigerians who have grabbed new positions at the NASS were among these crop of “RETIREES”, WHO WERE NOT TIRED OF MAKING MUCH MORE MONEY; and for your information, this had been the trend since the 1999-2015 PDP democratic experience! When juxtaposed with President Buhari’s ambition for the presidency, it was obvious that these power drunks had nothing to offer neither the Nigerian Electorate which “voted” them into office nor APC’s as the party platform through which they achieved their ambitions, but to plot another four years of orchestrated deceits and unfulfilled promises! No one should be surprised to discover that they might just have also manipulated processes of their elections into the Red and Green Chambers respectively! THEY HAVE ONLY ONE CHOICE, TO SHIP IN OR SHIP OFF; OLD WINE IN A NEW WINE BOTTLE ARE STRANGE COMPANIONS! *President Buhari told Diaspora Nigerians domiciled in South Africa recently: “What brought me back is the love for my country…….I was afraid Nigeria could become a nation like Somalia which ‘self-centred elites’ had succeeded in turning into a war zone in the last 20 years!” Do these set of legislators also love Nigeria which they had plotted to turn upside-down just within a space of 30days in office? They are non-compliant to anyone or institution but to their ego! “Behold, the fear of the LORD is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding.”

Amen.

ZION B-BC NEWSLETTER. [ A Publication of the Zion Faith Bible-Believing Church, Kpeyegyi, Abuja Nigeria. ] { VOL. 3. NO 98. 28-06-15.} “…ONLY The Truth, Will Set You Free! (John.8:32). INTERNAL SECURITY OPERATIONS CAN NOT BE WISHED AWAY!

Although a nation-wide spontaneous jubilation greeted the presidential directive on the dismantling of military road blocks across Nigeria’s entire road networks on Monday, 22nd June, 2015, the insistence of some Governors that insurgency volatile areas be exempted from the blanket ban should be taken with all seriousness for soldiers to continue with legitimate and constitutional internal security operations!

Nigerian Soldiers manning a Security check point.

While the Commander-In-Chief is sensitive to the hardship and pains inflicted upon citizens through the gridlock caused by road blocks the governors would not wish away the fact that they still needed military presence to maintain effective defence against Boko Haram terrorism, yet to be completely defeated in the North East and parts of North Central Geo-political Zones of the nation!

President Buhari.

Military incursion into politics in January 1966 led to almost 30 years of martial rule which had turned the soldiers into an integral part of the Nigerian society and saddled with domestic chores of varying degrees that should be fulfilled from time to time.

The Nigerian Military presently has Six Divisions and several battalions spread across the nation, which presence had always given security confidence to the populace.

Responsibilities of the Nigerian Army include:

First: to protect Nigeria’s borders and her territorial integrity in times of internal or external aggression, crisis, environmental disasters and the overall protection of the Nigerian citizens.

Second: to promote Nigeria’s global interest in peace-keeping mission, operations/initiatives, and to supply humanitarian aids to such regions in need.

The domestic responsibilities of soldiers include but not limited to the following:

Aid civilian population during environmental disasters of storms, floods, earthquakes, landslides etc. Construct local bridges, make-shift shelters in war-torn conflict areas, assist in restoration of vital services like electricity, portable water, clearing of blocked roads, search and rescue of hostages etc. When riots or other forms of civil unrest threaten national security which could not be contained by the Police Force, the Army was always approached for necessary support to restore and maintain law and order. It is on record that Nigerian soldiers had always performed creditably, both at domestic and international levels since independence and even in all of the road block assignments, had proved to be friendlier than other security operatives. In the last 16 years of the new democratic dispensation, all government activities of hiring and firing were always “WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT,” an inheritance of military mentality which had been imbibed subconsciously by the “bloody civilians” to borrow the military parlance! An African adage states that a weeping person should intuitively maintain stable sight to carry out other chores; meaning that, tears should not impair the eye-sight or sense of reasoning! The plight of the Governors should be understood from the true perspective that government structures and citizens in those regions were still insecure in spite of military presence which must now be intensified more than ever for the needed peace to reign and for economic and social needs to endure. The military Command Centre has been moved to the North East as earlier directed by Mr. President in his inaugural speech and that automatically excludes the zone from the blanket disbandment order! The Federal Capital Territory (FTC), residents were the most favoured in this gridlock bail-out by the Federal Government considering the fact that since 2010 when the first Boko Haram twin bomb blasts hit the Eagle Square vicinity on the 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations and the Mogadishu Military Cantonment, Mammy Market, Abuja, very close to the Presidential Villa, the city had been virtually “LOCKED DOWN” with military road blocks/check points on every stretch of road! The need for heavy security protection cannot be over emphasized. Being the seat of the Federal Government, it would tantamount to a taboo for insurgents to take over the city due to security dereliction or lapses although in spite of all the efforts, the following terrorists attacks were still perpetrated between 2010and 2014: The Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House Abuja, which is a stone throw from the Three Arms Zone which houses the Parliament and Presidential Buildings. The Roman Catholic Church at Madala, on the outskirts of Abuja; The United Nations Building, in Abuja’s Central Area; Nyanyan, (Abuja suburb) Park Bus Station twin bomb blast between April and May, 2014 respectively; Wuse, Abuja Central Area Shopping Centre bomb blasts in June 2014; Co-ordinated bomb attacks on This Day Newspapers Offices in Abuja and Kaduna in June 2014!

Aftermath of The UN office Bombing in Abuja.

Except for the Independence Day bomb attack, claimed to have been perpetrated by Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), all other attacks were claimed by Boko Haram insurgents! Abuja residents had to rejoice because, in spite of all security precautions through the road blocks, the terrorists still manipulated their way into the territory to perpetrate havocs to prove that those measures were inconsequential! Then, why would the poor masses be subjected to the twin burdens of spending precious man-hours daily on the road only for the insurgents to still have bombs detonated on their habitations? The advantages of military road blocks in times of insecurity cannot be underestimated and in spite of the ripple effects of inconveniences, they should be employed and dismantled as occasions demanded. The Commander-In-Chief did not create a vacuum because military road blocks were immediately replaced with Police internal security mechanisms which the Inspector General of Police has constituted into the Highway Patrol Management Team. Already about 457 patrol vehicles manned by well-trained police officers had been deployed for security duties across the country while more vehicles were being awaited. *What does it entail to handle the internal security of a nation like Nigeria which civil unrest/insurgency/ terrorism had devastated for over five years? A cursory investigation into Nigeria’s circumstances of internal disturbances has revealed the lack of patriotic zeal and deliberate political will of past administrations to give equal rights and opportunities to all citizens, (of all ages), as entrenched in the Nigerian Constitution thereby creating jealousy, envy, rancour, rivalry, animosity, quarrel or dissent between the over 250 ethnic groups and when not quickly redressed, deeply-rooted anger metamorphosed into civil disturbances, insurrection, insurgency or full-blown terrorism that would demand greater security tactics to handle!

Internal Security (IS) operations are defined as any military or para-military role, which involves primarily the maintenance and restoration of law and order and essential services in the face of civil disturbances and disobedience through the application of minimum force. Effective IS operations should deal with minor or major civil disorders bothering on political instigations that could lead to revolts or rebellion attributable to both internal/external factors, as we have witnessed in Nigeria in recent times to forestall the consequences of economic and infrastructural breakdown! Now that the Nigeria Police Force has been re-saddled with its statutory duties as the conventional force and traditional institution charged with the onerous responsibility of maintaining law and order, the protection of life and property, the prevention of crimes, and prosecution of offenders, how would it function effectively alone in 33 out of the 36 States without the joint support of the military? We believe that officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force are adequately trained for such challenges of internal security if patriotic zeal, integrity and righteous leadership qualities are emphasized within the top hierarchy in the discharge of their functions, duties and responsibilities! The Force had performed creditably outside the shores of Nigeria with international encomiums and the United Nations accolades to show for it; therefore, given the present circumstance in which state-of-the-art patrol vehicles equipped with high technology communication devices and sophisticated/modern equipments/ logistics coupled with good leadership incentives are in place, brilliant performances should be envisaged.

Nigeria Police Force Officers on Peace Keeping Assingment.

*In addition, Citizens co-operation in respect of crime prevention and detection through requisite information gathering must be given high priority attention in order to ensure steady and continuous successes in all fronts of their operations of internal security. The professional training of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), must also be brought to fore since its primary function was to intervene and quell internal disturbances in form of riots or civil unrests like workers and students protests. Positive results should also be recorded through well-co-ordinated surveillance and the deployment of stop and search patrol technology into internal operation activities. In other climes, a Third Force, similar to Nigeria’s PMF was usually established to address internal security issues like racial or tribal rivalry, religious intolerance, maladministration and corruption by government, famine and poverty, lack of agricultural, educational and social planning, socio-economic grievances, ideological and political differences, student unionism exuberances, pay differentials, and industrial upheavals, because majority of most developing countries, are poorly educated and are indifferent to problems outside of their daily chores and environment. The individual downtrodden and illiterate citizen who could neither comprehend nor appreciate the main reasons or causes for his predicament in life, his misery, poverty, social and backward economic state, was prone to become an easy prey to be manipulated at will by politicians, enemies of the State or saboteurs to foment trouble in the polity. We have every reason to believe that this new government is poised to reverse the trend of insecurity that berthed Boko Haram, renew hope in the hopeless, resuscitate the spirit of patriotism and give equal opportunities that would ignite the fire of nationalism above selfish interests. The Word of Wisdom says, “A stitch in time saves nine.” 469 Legislators versus 170 million Nigerian Citizens! No one needs a soothsayer to tell the renegades among the present crop of Nigerian Legislators in the National Assembly (NASS), that the battle line has been drawn between them and the Electorate that “voted” them to serve the nation! Any river or stream that despises its source was bound to dry up just as any dog that ignores the command whistle of the master hunter would be lost in the forest and become prey to predators! *Party supremacy through internal democracy mechanism as entrenched in APC’s Constitution must prevail at all times, especially now that a handful of rebels had hijacked the instruments of power at the legislative level! *God cannot be deceived, whatsoever that a man sows, that he would surely reap, but in multiplication! *Why was it so difficult for these “distinguished” parliamentarians to forget that their former parties which collapsed to form the All Progressives Congress (APC), are DEAD and BURIED according to extant laws of the land? *Why would those who are now bent on wrecking the APC with impunity, think that they are now superior and independent of the Electorate who are the majority and possess the sovereign power to hire and fire? *Have they forgotten the RECALL clause of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution which can be invoked at short notice?

House Members in a RowdySession.

Now that the polygamous children of the mixed multitude have now been openly identified through their inordinate lust for carnal power, it will be very easy to sift and flush them out of the CHANGE system because they belonged to the old order of past administrations which is anathema! If they thought that this new administration would follow the corrupt pattern of the past, they better have a re-think because there would be no monies to share from the MDA’s for oversight functions, nor illegal fat salaries/allowances and the massive loots in the name of quarterly Constituency allowances paid directly to legislators in the past! It is written, “Every tree that is not planted by God in the present administration of the APC must be uprooted and cast into the furnace,” The ball is now in the courts of the States that produced these new set of power mongers to blot out their names from the registers and initiate immediate proceedings to recall them as they resume plenary on 21st June 2015, before they adulterate the entire laudable programmes of the amiable President whom they had neither shown respect nor obeisance! The Word of God says: “Any one whose name was not found in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.” (Revelation 20:15).Would they repent before it is too late? Nothing shall be impossible for the LORD to achieve! Amen If you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, don’t miss this great opportunity as you pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus; I confess that I am a sinner who needs to be saved through the grace of the New Testament of your Blood, shed on the Cross at Calvary; I renounce every sin in my life and accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive me and write my name in the Book of Life. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, you have been admitted into the family of sons and daughters of God, who are born-again. Congratulations. ZION B-BC NEWSLETTER. [ A Publication of the Zion Faith Bible-Believing Church, Kpeyegyi, Abuja Nigeria. ] { VOL. 3. NO 97. 21-06-15.} “…ONLY The Truth, Will Set You Free! (John.8:32).

PROTAGONISTS OF STATE CREATION HAVE BEEN DEFEATED! The penchant and craving for the creation of new States by various interest groups in the Nigerian polity through arguments of marginalization based on egotism, tribal sentiments and rivalry can no longer hold sway as most of the existing 36 States had failed the litmus test of accountability and economic viability! Twenty-two All Peoples’ Congress (APC) governors, converged in Abuja (cap-in-hand), on Tuesday 16th June, 2015, to beg for Federal bail-out because of failure to pay workers salaries/pension allowances for upwards of six/seven months in arrears! These were the same States which met the criteria for creation either by military fiat or the Nigerian 1999 Constitution in which Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from human capital development, natural and material resource, were key pre-requisites for successful take-off of new States! Governors of the bankrupt states who intimidated Mr. President last week with these obnoxious demands had probably lost their Party Manifesto or forgot to revise the promises in respect of the masses welfare and social contracts concerning good employment opportunities and regular living wages before embarking on the thoughtless adventure - a communication that could have been handled through diplomatic portfolio. It is inconceivable to think that debtors would employ the flamboyant lifestyle of flying private jet aircrafts to request for loans as was witnessed in Abuja recently instead of first disposing such luxury liabilities to offset their workers salary arrears!

These politicians said in a communiqué that they were not unmindful of the nation’s economic situation and dwindling revenue which had rubbed off negatively on the people but still believed that the Federal Government held the miracle solution to their predicament which they realized was a result of poor management of immediate past administration!

No wonder, they had no “palliatives” in place except to go a-borrowing!

Did you remember the saga of a four-month ill-motivated and controversial 2014 National Conference organized by the last administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which gulped over N8 billion naira of tax-payers money in delegates allowances but ended with the recommendation of the creation of additional 18 States for the six geo-political zones to complement the existing 36, and with a view to “correcting imbalances” in the monthly sharing formula of crude oil proceeds deposited in the Federation Account, though very few of these States could be adjudged as economically viable to meet the demands and needs of their citizens! Antagonists of more States creation who suggested the merger or collapse of present State structure to form Regions as in the past were proved right with the recent development in which the aforementioned States and some in the PDP camp were unable to pay workers salaries and meet other social commitments.

A recent statistics report from the Debt Management Office (DMO), shows that the total public debt profile of both the Federal Government and the 36 States of the Federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), totalled N11.24trillion as 31st December 2014. Splitting the grand total into debts, owed by the various tiers of government showed that the Domestic debt profile of the Federal Government totalledN7.9 trillion at the end of 2014 while its External indebtedness was $6.445.631.547.93. The States Domestic debt component stood at N1.71trillion as at 31st December, 2014, while their External debt was $3.266.817.562.07.

With a debt profile of $1.169.712.848.66, Lagos State, was the most externally indebted in 2014 and was followed by Kaduna with, $234.416.052.15; Cross Rivers, $131.469.661.94; Edo, $123.128.295.53; and Ogun State, $109.154.553.08. The least exposed States in terms of external debts, according to DMO are Taraba with, $22.780.063.89; Borno, $23.067.549.16; Delta, $24.233.639.67; Plateau, $30.947.579.75; and Yobe, $31.237.619.25.

From all of the foregoing statistics, who should borrow from whom? We believe that the States should have collectively bailed out the Federal Government by off-setting at least half of its domestic debts being a brand new government which is alien to debt matters! But it is not to be so!

At Independence on 1st October, 1960, Nigeria’s geographical landscape was bequeathed with three distinct Regions: namely, North, East and West, by the British colonial masters, who in their wisdom believed that with an engendered co-operation between the founding fathers, the nation would achieve economic viability in no time. Contrary to popular opinion that the North was deliberately foisted on the South in the scheme of political power game, credit must be given to the British management team of that time which perceived the imperative necessity for mutual co-operation between land-locked North and sea-favoured South. Before the amalgamation of the North and South in 1914, the economic potentials of both regions had been identified and the need for the transportation of the abundant cash crops consisting majorly of groundnuts, millets, cotton, soya beans etc. for overseas exportation with the cocoa, rubber, palm oil and coal in the South, was perfected through the construction of rail-road links in addition to the existing road and bridges network. Between 1st October, 1960, and 27th May, 1967, when the second Military Head of State General Yakubu Gowon, created 12 States out of the existing Three Regions and the Mid-West, (created 9th August, 1963), Nigeria was an economically stable and viable nation with rapid advancement in the areas of infrastructures - the building and construction industries, engineering, agriculture, technology and textiles; and with great emphasis for the need for compulsory education of the youths who would in the long run administer the nation!

The first Military Head of State, Major General Aguiyi-Ironsi, was the beneficiary of a military coup hatched by officers, mostly of the Southern Ibo Tribe extraction on 15th January, 1966, while a counter coup master-minded by officers of the Northern Hausa Tribe extraction, produced Yakubu Gowon on 29th July, 1966, and a seed of discord or perceived marginalization among ethnic groups was introduced into the polity! Nigeria was embroiled in an unfortunate 30-month-old civil war (6th July 1967-11th January, 1970), to stop the Eastern Region from seceding and there now exists 36 States in the Federal Republic. Should any sane mind agitate for the creation of a new State again? Our answer is an emphatic NO!

APC And The Rest Of Us!

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), for the first time kept its promise of clearing vehicular queues from all filling stations across the nation between Sunday 14th June, 2015, and Wednesday, 17th June, 2015, through its group managing director who ordered the release of a continuous supply of a reserve of 1.5 billion litres of the premium motor spirit into the market! Sources from NNPC revealed that the Warri and Port Harcourt Refineries were already producing at about 60 percent capacity and would go higher as crude supply increased; while the turn- around maintenance for the Kaduna Refinery would soon be completed. It is envisaged that the importation of finished products would fizzle out gradually and the subsidy scam would become a dead issue! The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has also hit the ground running after eight consecutive years (2007-2015), of incarceration by an administration which believed that stealing did not tantamount to corruption!Former State Governors who were “sacred cows” and would have gotten away with looted funds and properties were being arrested and taken to courts of competent jurisdiction for trial and subsequent convictions if found guilty. Although the expectations of the citizens who voted President Muhammadu Buhari to power are very high, they now see reason in the cautious approach of choosing a cabinet of men and women of integrity and pedigree which must not disappoint Nigerians. Did Mr. President say that he was too old to rule Nigeria? No! What he said was that with the kind of the high demands of him by the electorate, he would have wished he were a younger and agile man who would meet such demands, strength for strength! Let us give it to Mr President who is just about three weeks in office for many laudable achievements in this short period of time. He has tackled the germane and recalcitrant issue of the Boko Haram terrorism headlong, both locally and internationally and has contributed $100million dollars into the operation kitty of the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), comprising of Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroun; with a Nigerian Major General as Commander based in Chad Republic. Right now Mr. President is busy studying the Report of the Transition Committee which was just submitted by his own team due to delay caused through the non-cooperation of the past government officials before his investiture on 29th May, 2015. No sharp increase has been noticed in commercial transportation fares while market commodities prices are also stable. According to the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), the wardrobe allowance of legislators is 25% of their basic salary which is N506,600 per annum not N17million or N20 million as was reported in the newspapers! We shall give Mr. Chairman benefit of the doubt but we urge the electorate to watch closely every move of these lawmakers, majority of who were used to collecting the quarterly jumbo Constituency Allowances, because we are now aware that the monthly pay packets of legislators in the green and red chambers are N1.8million and N2 million respectively which we believe are still on the high side!We will still continue to agitate and insist that legislative duties should be on part time engagement in which only sitting and transport allowances would be paid as at when due considering the socio-economic realities on ground! Let us all join hands to support government in the growth and rapid development of this new Nigeria of our collective dreams where unemployment now compounded with the problem of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and other myriad social vices abound and proffer solutions that would eradicate the challenges. We are all counting down to 5th September, 2015 when Mr. President will clock 100 days in office and give the first phase of account of stewardship, We are trusting that the new management team of the Nigerian Project would deliver creditably in Jesus Christ name. Amen.

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is reproach to any people” (Proverbs. 14:34).

If you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, don’t miss this great opportunity as you pray this prayer:

NIGERIA’S GOLDEN ERA WILL BE TESTED BY STORM AND FIRE!

The smart move of electing a new Senate President by some ambitious and overzealous All Progressives Congress politicians at the National Assembly, Abuja, with the connivance and support votes of the major Opposition Party, and at the expense of the disenfranchisement of others, on Tuesday 9th June,2015, was nothing short of a PALACE COUP which shook the ruling party to its very foundation! *That small group which stormed the political landscape “struck gold” within 45minutes of deliberations and with such a deft military precision that kept pundits wondering whether or not the whole episode was a pre-packaged movie, acted with a written or documented script! We have it on good authority of Historians that it was a climatic storm that occasioned the discovery of the Gold Mines of the Republic of India, one of the finest and best democracies in the world! Gold, a mineral earth resource is a precious stone of immense economic value which must endure the fiduciary baptism of FIRE before it can produce the innate qualities that kept it at the top of the chart of quality gem stones! *Every nation needs some figurative storms and fires, even earthquakes, at some period of evolution, to kindle and reveal characters of endurance and perseverance in political leadership just like the Gold in order to produce shinning sterling qualities of righteousness and character perfection in governance. But, can this envisaged storm of attitudinal and character reformation permeate the Nigerian political space to produce an outcome of the relationship between GOLD and FIRE? *Were the dross and impurities on the raw gem stone still not stuck during the 9th June, 2015, inauguration ceremonies of both Chambers of the National Assembly (NASS)? *Though, those who are now in the saddle believe that their victory was the unfettered democratic CHANGE that the Electorate deserved whereas, Party supremacy and discipline mechanisms were sidelined, shunned, rebuffed and cast into the bin to covet the transient positions of principal offices of Senate President and House of Representatives Speaker and their deputies!

*In all of the positions that have been taken by political pundits and the All Progressives Congress (APC), management team, for and against the “coup-de-grace” backed by the opposition members on the day of NASS inauguration; on which platform could one premise a safe landing for the actors now on stage? *To the unseen eyes of the mundane and amateur, the pre-meditated plans of the professional chess players and king-makers at NASS began just few days after the Presidential and National Assembly Elections of 28th March, 2015, and the storm began to brew gradually because the “hairy hands of Esau and the smooth voice of Jacob” must both be employed to achieve a grand “coup” in which not one single shot would be fired to covet and collect the blessings!(Read Genesis.27:20-30, compare 31-41 and Chapters. 32:3-33:16). Nocturnal visits during which all forms of clandestine permutations were foisted took place between the very ambitious Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the opposition members who had 45 seats in the Senate and NASS record showed that only 57 members (not up to two thirds of 109), voted for him to become Senate President without a full House on such a crucial issue which threw him up as the only unopposed candidate for the coveted post! Please assess the following analysis and form your opinions: Episode One. *The All Progressives Congress Party was predicated on democratic principles that stresses on Party Supremacy and Discipline when it comes to collective decision-making. Dino Melaye, Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara jumped ship from Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) of their own volition to the APC, because they believed in the new manifesto of true and sincere Change from all corruptive tendencies that characterized PDP and took oath to abide by Party decisions in all constitutional matters! Episode Two: *When the positions of principal officers of NASS were to be filled, they had the freedom to nominate candidates of their choices, which they did with the knowledge that nominated candidates would still go through the internal democratic primary poll mechanism of the party which produced Ahmed Lawan, Bukola Saraki for the Senate presidency and ‘Femi Gbajabiamila and Yakubu Dogara for the Speaker’s seat in the House of Representatives, all candidates of the same party! Episode Three: *Naturally, party members queued behind their choice candidates but Saraki and Dogara who had a hidden agenda and premonition of defeat, boycotted the party primaries in spite of their oath of allegiance in respect of party supremacy and party discipline and as a result of their absence, Lawan and Gbajabiamila were elected by the Party to stand for nomination on the inaugural date of 9th June, 2015 at the NASS Chambers! Episode Four: *In view of the stalemate created by the absence of the duo, APC leadership had to involve Mr. President to intervene and counsel them to fall in line with the democratic decision of the party and a meeting was slated for 9am at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, one hour before the inaugural ceremony at the NASS Complex at 10am on 9th June, 2015. They deliberately boycotted the meeting and went ahead to carry out the pre-meditated “coup” of swearing in Saraki as the new Senate President of the 8th NASS and also elected the opposition candidate, Ike Ekeremadu, as his deputy to show their actual identity as “wolves in sheep clothing” and it was a done deal as far as the conspirators were concerned! Episode Five: *The initial anger of the Party and those who were disenfranchised through the covetousness and inordinate ambition of Saraki and company, simmered down and after several high level Party hierarchy consultations, APC on Friday 12th June, 2015, through a statement by its Chairman, recognised the “elected” NASS principal officers in the spirit of unity and oneness. *It is however instructive to remind us that that PDP emphatically stated that it had no interest and would not participate in the quest for elective principal officers of NASS; but is it not ironic that Ike Ekeremadu is now the Deputy Senate President of the 8th Assembly - a position he held since 2007? Who is fooling who? Can two work together except they agree?

The Big Question And Divine Consolation For the APC!

*WHAT WAS THE ROLE OF GOD IN ALL OF THESE EXIBITION OF HUMAN FRAILTIES AND VANITIES?

*Thus saith the LORD: “When my friend Abraham connived with his wife Sarah to take a concubine against my commandment of ONE MAN ONE WIFE, I watched from Heaven but said nothing! The union with his MAID produced Ishmael contrary to my covenant and ISAAC was later born by Sarah as prophesied; but note that when I was to recall Abraham I put my Spirit into him and he gave gifts to Ishmael and the children of concubines and sent them away, but to Isaac, the covenant child, were all Abrahams riches and properties bequeathed!”(Genesis.16:1-6;25:5-6). “I perceived the greediness and vanity in the PRODIGAL SON when he virtually forced his father to bequeath his own portion of inheritance while the father was still alive! I did not dissuade him even when he lived riotously and squandered all that he illegally collected and although he later repented and returned home, all he got was a warm welcome; the entire riches, wealth and properties of the father were bequeathed to the ELDER SIBLING, who patiently stayed and served their father.”(Luke.15:11-32) “When my Spirit children assembled before me for a very important and crucial conference, imagine whom we discovered in their midst dressed in a different uniform; it was SATAN! I did not feel embarrassed but calmly gave him a testimony in respect of my adorable universal son JOB; a man of sterling qualities and high pedigree and warned Satan who was visibly angry that he MUST not touch one hair of Job’s head even if he tempted him to the limits! Job was victorious over Satan in that contest; though he lost all physical and ephemeral things of your world, and was even abandoned by loved ones, he kept faith alive and at the latter part of his life when it seemed that all was lost, I blessed him with double portion of all his losses and he ultimately remained the richest and wealthiest of his generation!” (Job.1:6-22; 42:12-17). “Did you remember that Judas Iscariot, a disciple of my one and only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ, betrayed his Master by collecting 30 pieces of silver for His crucifixion and I said nothing, but at the end of His trial, He won the battle for universal SALVATION on the Cross at Calvary while Judas committed suicide having been convicted of his sin against the SINNLESS SON OF GOD!” (Luke.22:1-5, 22, 47-48; Matthew.27:3-10). “When Joseph’s siblings conspired to abort his dream of becoming their BOSS in a near future by selling him into slavery in Egypt, little did they know that they had actually pushed him to accomplish those divinely favoured dreams and he became the Prime Minister of a foreign country where fate eventually took them to look for food during terrible times of famine and prostrated before the one they despised! (Genesis. 37:5-9, 18-28; 45:4-8; 50:18-21). “When some enemies paid nocturnal visit to my farm of Wheat and polluted it with Tares (Weeds), which they planted to destroy the wheat growth, I watched them with pity!My Angels wanted to root up the tares but I prevented them to avoid damages to the wheat! Let both plants grow together until harvest when separation would be easier at my judgement seat. The tares would be gathered in bundles and cast into the fire while I will gather the wheat into my Barn!” (Matthew. 13:24-30). “I am the Almighty GOD, the Omnipresence, the Omnipotent, the Omniscient! I am the One who was, who is and who is to come! I am the Alpha and the Omega” I know the end even from the beginning!” “Did you remember my revelations concerning Nigeria’s 2015 General Elections? I said, I would elect from among you, righteous men and women who would rule your nation according to my purposive will.

I have already done that with Muhammadu Buhari as the good vessel to achieve all that I have purposed to do in my Heart! Just watch out for the unfolding events because the Word which has gone out of my mouth would never return to me empty except that it had accomplished the purpose for which I have sent it!” *The bottom line to the entire episodes of trusts and betrayals is that the Supernatural One in whose Hands the entire affairs of Heaven and Earth squarely rests would judge all matters with righteousness and apportion justice as appropriate as at when due without any human contribution whatsoever! “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ; “Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; “Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by FIRE; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.” (1Corinthians.3:11-13). *God does not set His clock by ours; though time moves slowly in long-drawn-out tests and trials, blessed is that life that is rooted in God, which trusts that His tides move steadily to accomplish His glorious purposes! According to Bonar: “God may not give us an easy journey to the Promised Land, but He will give us a safe one.” *Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has preserved this nation, Nigeria, for His Holy Name and Has pledged to bequeath unto us and our generations yet unborn, an inheritance of an incorruptible and undefiled governance by men and women of impeccable character, integrity and dignity. Amen.

Amen.

ZION B-BC NEWSLETTER. [ A Publication of the Zion Faith Bible-Believing Church, Kpeyegyi, Abuja Nigeria. ] { VOL. 3. NO 95. 07-06-15.} “…ONLY The Truth, Will Set You Free! (John.8:32).

NIGERIANS DID NOT VOTE FOR A POLARISED APC!

Nigerians have become wiser and can no longer be brow-beaten, manipulated nor be fooled by politicians of any ilk or genre, even if they be aliens from other planets!

All Progressives Congress (APC) debut to political power after 16 years of successive failed civilian governments should not be a platform for greed after ephemeral positions and petty offices of the three tiers of government, but of a faithful and united party, which is determined to salvage whatever remained of our democratic dividends to succour the down-trodden who were always economically coerced to bear the brunt of the failures of vandals and predators who occupied position of authority!

We expected a clear and distinct departure from the attitude of those past politicians who cared less whether the nation swam or sank, but the wrangling over “who should be who” in both chambers of the 8th National Assembly to be inaugurated on Tuesday 10th, June, 2015, has sent a wrong signal to the Electorate which voted them to power.

Greed is a heinous crime before God and the following lines as recorded in Proverbs 15:27,28,32,33; should give some food for thought to the two APC polarised groups or factions that have exhibited shameless attitude in a party that is barely one week old at the helm of affairs:“He who is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live.

“The mind of the [uncompromisingly] righteous studies how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

“He who refuses [and] ignores instruction [and] correction despises himself, but he who heed reproof gets understanding.

“The reverent [and] worshipful fear of the Lord brings instruction in Wisdom, and humility comes before honour.”

The word of God also says:

“For promotion comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south.

“But God is the judge; He puts down one, and sets up another.” [Psalm. 75:6-7].

*Firstly, those who jostled, and were very desperate to occupy those positions at all cost and who spoke loudest, (they are identifiable), have nothing to offer Nigerians, all they did was smear shame on themselves and members of their families!

*Secondly, the ensuing tussle had exposed the “gladiators” in their true “colours” that they lacked decorum, decent antecedents and pedigrees, judging by character assassinations and tantrums that were thrown up!

*Thirdly, in spite of appeals and counsels from eminent patriots and statesmen for “combatants” to sheath swords, they refused to listen to all sense of reasoning until Saturday, 6th June 2015, when the divine appointed were identified and elected!

*Fourthly, this unethical and orthodox kind of “CHANGE behaviour” among politicians who should exhibit polished mannerism and decency in the society, is unacceptable and must be condemned by all well-meaning Nigerians or are we now confronted with a situation of, “OLD WINE IN NEW WINE BOTTLE?

*In our last edition we counselled that black legs and fifth columnists should be expeditiously identified and expelled without delay to save the party from the evil effects and pollution of the “MIXED MULTITUDE!”

*The posts of Senate President, Speaker, their deputies and other principal and ranking officers in the National Assembly (NASS), are very temporal and transient and we believe that those who advocate CHANGE from Voodoo to Godly administrations would come to equity with clean hands and not contest such offices with fist cuffs!

*We wondered whether these new “distinguished” NASS Legislators were aware that Boko Haram suicide bombers struck twice in Maiduguri, Bornu State, once each in Yobe and Adamawa States during this one week of the APC Administration?

If the answer is positive, should they not divert their energy and attention to proffering solutions to such pressing national issues of insecurity than quarrelling over positions that had been divinely filled at God’s discretion!

The APC Central Working Committee (CWC) must quickly go back to the drawing board, strengthen party machinery to adjudicate as the supreme arbiter in matters of disputes, contests confrontations, conflicts of this nature, and discipline within the party’s rank and file - not excluding Mr. President!

*PARTY SUPREMACY, according to constitutional internal democracy stipulations, must be entrenched from the beginning so that no President or one individual ranking officer eventually become despotic nor a cabal turn abusive to the collective sensibilities through the introduction of the doctrine of divide and rule!

*The South African example during the tenure of former President Thabo Mvuyelwa Mbeki, should remind APC “CHANGE” politicians that no one “high ranking” member would have the audacity to lord it over others without being sanctioned and shown the way out!

By the time Mbeki took office in June 1999 as President of the Republic of South Africa, he was ready to take forward the national reconciliation project with a focus on expanding the economy and deepening democratic transformation through policies including black economic empowerment.

He was also to drive better performance on the part of the State and made substantial progress in the areas of accountability, political stability, government effectiveness, building the integrity and legitimacy of the State and also, the entrenchment of the rule of law!

Mbeki’s passion for sound international relations especially in the area of African Development and Renaissance, which he made, “the central tenet of the country’s foreign policy outlook”, remained a cardinal point of reference!

*But in spite of his sterling qualities as a loyal ruling party’s African National Congress (ANC), President and an outstanding statesman, the moment he overstepped his bounds by sacking his deputy from office because of some personal disagreements, he was shown the way out by the party!

South Africa’s 11th President, Thabo Mbeki arbitrarily fired his deputy, Jacob Zuma from office in 2005 on suspicion of a plan to unseat him, the incumbent and this led to an epic power struggle between the two which almost brought the ANC to its knees by 2007, and which culminated in the divisive election battle at ANC’s 52nd Conference which Mbeki lost because the Party hierarchy maintained rule of law.

*A similar episode of power tussle occurred in Nigeria between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his deputy Alhaji Atiku Abubakar between 2006-2007, and he (Obasanjo) succeeded in sacking Atiku because the sitting President also doubled as National Leader under their Party’s Constitution or convention; but as fate played out, both men departed the political space with ignominy and have remained insignificant ever since!

*Mbeki’s recall was as a result of that power battle which also provoked a substantial breakaway from the ANC’s hierarchy.

Jacob Zuma, who was at the recent investiture of President Buhari in Abuja, is currently serving his second term as President of the Republic of South Africa and yet the ANC binds Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma together always as successive leaders and comrades through the Party supremacy mechanism!

The moral lesson here is that ruling Parties of any kind of government should always play roles that would stabilize the polity by implementing supremacy through the rule of law and we recommend same to APC as they progress to make the necessary security and economic impacts in a very short period!

A Peep Into APC’s Cocoon!

President Muhammadu Buhari, had from the onset declared his good intention by steering clear of the NASS politics by allowing “distinguished” members to pilot their own affairs unlike his predecessor in office.

A terrible dent has been registered on the character and mien of the Party that claimed to be an agent of Change from the onset through the legislators’ charlatan attitude and the electorate is already losing faith in the people who promised to end all sufferings of the TALAKAWAS (poor masses and peasants) of Nigeria!

We believe that good leadership would birth good followership. President Buhari is blazing the trail in this direction because he wasted no time in tackling the burning issue of insecurity and had conferred with Nigeria’s neighbouring countries of Niger and Chad during his first foreign visit to strengthen the bond of military relationship and co-operation which were already on ground while his legislative counterparts were shamelessly fighting over temporal principal offices!

*He has also met with Service Chiefs to marshal out military strategies to end the prolonged Boko Haram terrorism which was handled with kid gloves for too long!

Mr President had within the week appointed two media aides, Secretary to the new government and also gotten Senate approval for 15 unnamed Special Advisers.

Like a fresh and uncooked Egg that fell and messed the floor, the new APC NASS members have fallen from grace to grass before starting the race because the team is troubled by a “mixed multitude” of renegades! They needed to be called to order by the party now that the divinely-chosen candidates have emerged in order to forestall a brewing animosity from the camps of the losers when the 8th NASS commences sessions after inauguration!

*Do you remember that this kind of attitude of greed played out during the appointment of key party officers at the foundation stage of APC when two prominent founding members, from Edo and Kano States respectively, stormed out of the caucus and pronto, were back to the last administration’s failed party because they both lost the position of CHAIRMAN to the incumbent who was elected according to Party’s internal democracy mechanisms that were in place!

*They and others of their ilk constitute the mixed multitude mentioned earlier!

According to Biblical records of Exodus.12:38 and Numbers. 11:4-10; those group of people constituted an albatross to the children of Israel as they journeyed toward the promised land, because they lusted after ephemeral things of the world! They must be avoided like plague in this new dispensation!

OUR attention was drawn to the gang- up of 14 political parties and 13 Civil Society Organisations (CSO’s), under the auspices of Credible Alternative Alliance (CAA), against the APC which they believed should constitute a government of national unity instead of relying on foreign governments’ support to run the country.

* Headed by Alhaji Balarabe Musa, a former Governor of Kaduna State and a former Secretary to Federal Government, Chief Olu Falae as co-Chairman, the group claimed that APC was rooting for a one-party state through its arm-twist tactics!

The Coalition’s co-ordinator, Dr. Damian Ugbonna, who read the statement endorsed by the co-chairmen also said APC should do more to cultivate domestic support from other political parties/relevant stakeholders, jettison the winner-takes-all and one-man show mantra being exhibited, as such posture was not good for Nigeria’s sovereignty, because APC could not govern effectively without their support and contribution!

The group also said they expected APC to come to power having good policies in place, but that it seemed that they were bereft of ideas because President Buhari’s inaugural speech had no policies/initiatives bite to tackle the enormous challenges facing the country.

*We must inform our readers that these Parties that have now donned the toga of SPECIAL ADVISERS were the same that shouted loudest during electioneering campaigns that “BUHARI WOULD NEVER RULE NIGERIA AGAIN!

What are they shopping for this time around? Your guess is as good as ours!

This is the divine government which all Nigerians have been longing for and we believe that with genuine and regular constructive criticisms, all errors of commission or omission and imperfections of government functionaries would be identified and corrected in no time as we move surely and steadily to achieving political and economic prosperity as a nation. Amen.

We wish the Coalition of the 27 groups a better outing in the year 2019 if they had not split because of GREED!

THE DAWN OF THE NEW ERA OF CHANGE HAS EVOLVED AT LAST !

ZION B-BC NEWSLETTER. [ A Publication of the Zion Faith Bible-Believing Church, Kpeyegyi, Abuja Nigeria. ] { VOL. 3. NO 94. 31-05-15.} “…ONLY The Truth, Will Set You Free! (John.8:32).

THE DAWN OF THE NEW ERA OF CHANGE HAS EVOLVED AT LAST!

The soul, spirit and heart of Nigeria hearkened to the voice of Muhammadu Buhari, as he pledged his inaugural speech to perform creditably and fulfil the citizens’ higher hopes and aspirations for better dividends of democracy through proactive and diligent governance!

The Hosts of Heaven bore witness to the mission statement of this outstanding and highly revered astute and disciplined military statesman, who did not mince words with regards to his sincerity of purpose and determination to cleanse the Augean Stable left behind by previous administrations and give a new lease of worthy life to an over abused citizenry!

*Eagle Square, Abuja, Nigeria, the surrounding Secretariat Buildings and the lone statue of the cenotaph soldier watched in awe, ceremonies which led to the very first kind of change of guards from a ruling party in Nigeria to an opposition party which was given very poor ratings during electioneering campaigns!

President Buhari declared that he would not yield himself to anyone’s whims and caprice and would also not witch-hunt anybody, but would face the job of purging Nigeria of endemic corruption and past maladministration in the Power, Energy, Oil and Gas and the moribund Textile Industries Sectors.

We believe that our new President, with the benefit of hind sight, (remember he was in the saddle as Military Head of State, 1983-1985), patriotic support of Nigerians and divine guidance in wisdom and understanding, all tasks and challenges of his arduous commission would be surmountable in no time!

To quickly implement all of the above revolutionary ideas, especially on insecurity, without delay, Mr. President has ordered the relocation of the Military Central Command with immediate effect, from Abuja to Maiduguri, Bornu State to tackle head-long, the terrorism war of over five years through Boko Haram insurgency which has nearly crippled Nigeria’s dwindling economy! The Command would remain in Bornu State until terrorism is completely wiped out and all perpetrators are brought to justice!

Just as no human being can prevent the flaming red-hot Solar Super-Ball from undertaking its daily terrestrial chores of illuminating and invigorating the earth to give it life, so we believe that it will be impossible for any remnant cabal of the former government, to stop the brand new United States of Nigeria’s Management Team, under the watchful eyes of God, from totally annihilating corruption and executing its master plan of economic empowerment, transformation and emancipation agenda, according to divine purposive Will, in spite of the colossal $63billion national debt incurred by past administrations!

*Has the LORD not said?

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways;

“For as the heavens are higher that the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

“For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

“So shall My word be that goes forth out of my mouth; shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please [and] purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

“For you shall go out from [the spiritual exile caused by sin and evil into the homeland] with joy and be led forth [by your leader, the Lord Himself, and His word] with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all trees of the field shall clap their hands.

“Instead of the thorn shall come forth cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; and it shall be to the Lord for a name of renown, for an everlasting sign [of jubilant exaltation] [and] memorial [to His praise], which shall not be cut off.” (Isaiah.55:8-13 Amplified Bible).

The LORD has spoken that He would rescue Nigeria in the year 2015 from satanic bondage to prove all false prophets wrong and also to shame the boasters who had told the world that they would rule Nigeria for at least 60 years without interruption!

But in spite of the boasters’ shameful defeat by All Progressives Congress (APC), at the pools, they have remained unrepentant and have not acknowledged the supernatural power and sovereignty of God over all His creation so that they can incur His wrath and be totally consumed in their pride and disillusionment!

Even before President Buhari took the oath of office on Friday, the 29th May, 2015, premonitions as to how the APC’s new cabinet would fulfil its masses-oriented manifestoes and meet the yearning expectations of miracles by most Nigerians, filled the political terrain in view of the very bad state of the economy of heavy domestic and foreign debt profile being handed over to his brand new administration!

We believe that those filled with negative ideas in respect of manifestoes fulfilment are the same one and only clueless politicians who were still stupefied with APC’s defeat of their party because at no time were they prepared for governance but have only displayed a 16-year process of political grandstanding on print and electronic media propaganda, while in reality, were actually embedded in corruption, avarice and sleaze with impunity!

In a muddled analysis in respect of huge debt left behind by the out gone administration, their spokespersons at different forums admitted the figure of the debt portfolio but claimed that the Federal Government only stood as guarantors for the 36 States, which incurred most of the debts in question.

However the following facts have emerged that this past central government had a penchant for accumulating foreign debts for wrong reasons!

Failed Presidents of the past 16 years championed the culture of domestic and foreign borrowing at ridiculously high interest rates of 15 per cent without considering the fact that they would finance both the Capital and Expenditure at the same exorbitant interest rates and in addition still service the loans!

Costs of servicing loans had remained a major challenge which always gave rise to higher debt profile which had defied all manner of repayment logics.

The loans plus interests maintained steady graph while servicing fees had to be paid promptly on monthly basis to avoid further sanctions and penalties according to terms and conditions of agreement!

Domestic debts before 29th May, 2015, stood at N5.9 trillion while foreign debt was three per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which translates to about $6.67billion

Financial experts criticised the last Administration in respect of the following loans which were acquired as they wound up:

They requested for $3.702billion (about N555billion) external loan for the construction of Railway project and other facilities of which the Senate approved, $1.54billion (i.e.N231billion) and financial watchers said, the rate at which that government took loans would definitely take the country to the debt trap of the 1980s!This approved amount, according to them, included $1.52million from the Import/Export Bank of China, for the Abuja-Kaduna rail line and national security; it also included $315million and $170million for Public Private Partnership (PPP), for national electricity and gas improvement projects!

Another external loan of $1.5billion (i.e.N225 billion) was still being pursued “for the construction of railway projects in Lagos and Abuja, and the Abuja Light Rail Project,” before the announcement of election results which removed them from power!

The import of all of the above is that the erstwhile Federal Government was addicted to external borrowing to prove to probing eyes and economic watchers that Internally Generated Revenues [IGRs], were always inadequate when it had never produced audited reports of the petroleum mono product which accounts for about 98per cent of Nigeria’s annual budget!

Domestic or external debts can be incurred when IGRs are inadequate to finance increase in government’s expenditure or to finance investments for economic growth of which the past administration has nothing to show the world because of its fiscal imprudence!

We totally agree with the analyst who said that the effect of external borrowing tantamount to loss of economic activities which can be seen in terms of under utilization of the nations resources; that the Federal Government should look inward in creating more revenues by harnessing the non-oil sector which had been neglected for long and that unemployment would be on the increase since money borrowed were not effectively used for infrastructure- building that could have attracted investors willing to create jobs. The Era of Change!

“I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody…; No settlement of old scores…; The past is prologue……; We have met on ground, pervasive corruption and insecurity which we shall address headlong…….; I thank our millions of supporters who voted, and waited even through the night to ensure their votes were counted……; We shall not disappoint them but will deliver according to our manifesto….; I thank our neighbouring governments of Cameroun, Niger and Chad for lending us their troops to fight Boko Haram and promised to fight and defeat the insurgents and thereafter probe their activities and those of their sponsors…; I assure the international community of Nigeria’s readiness to cooperate and help to combat threats of cross-border terrorism, sea piracy, refugees, and boat people, financial crime, cyber crime, climate change, the spread of communicable diseases, and other challenges of the 21st Century…..; these are few of the CHANGE PRESIDENT’s Words on Marble at the Eagle Square, Abuja, on 29th, May, 2015.

He lamented that though our founding fathers left impeccable legacy of sound economic management templates, some of their successors have behaved like prodigal spoilt children in governance!

President Buhari in his inaugural speech also expressed surprise that successive administrations since 1999, could only generate less than 2000 megawatts of electric power to over 170million Nigerians who have to depend on generating sets for domestic, business and industrial activities!

The economic scenario in which the new administration of President Buhari is inter-twined is that of a rising external debt profile which if not quickly addressed would become cumulative to the extent of creating the ugly experience of debt servicing while actual loan plus interest remain unpaid!

While we await godly appointed professionals, bureaucrats, technocrats, technologists, engineers craftsmen/women and economic experts to emerge from the new cabinet of ministers and special advisers, we call on Nigerians especially those who are patriotic to appreciate the enormous challenge ahead and to close ranks with the new administration and collectively put all hands on deck by allowing the rule of law to operate flawlessly and allow good governance to prevail.

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs.14:34).

President Buhari and the APC are the divine panacea for peace, tranquillity, economic prosperity, and a violence-free nation through good governance and because we are convinced that they are the long-awaited answer to our collective national prayers and supplications, we should give them the enabling and conducive environment to work by being law-abiding citizens!

The much expected CHANGE from sorrow to joy, pain and grief to relief and happiness, tears to laughter, lack to abundance, poverty to riches, decrease to increase, and minimum to maximum opportunities for a better life for the

great Nigerians who have sacrificed their blood and sweat, must begin to happen NOW, TODAY, TOMORROW and FOREVER! Amen.

As we welcome the new President and his management team on board the Nigerian murky political turf, we must remind them that to whom much is given, much is expected; and also to WARN THEM THAT WE OF THIS EDITORIAL BOARD WILL BREATHE DOWN HEAVILY UPON THEIR NECKS BECAUSE THE ONLY OPTION OPEN TO THEM IS TO DELIVER DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY TO THE PEOPLE AND IN GOOD TIME TOO!

APC’s leadership must be ready to expel all “black legs and fifth columnists” whose ideologies would not be in consonance with the Party’s manifesto of prudence and total departure of impunity in governance, without delay!

OUR INEXTINGUISHABLE SEARCH LIGHT WAS SWITCHED ON AT THE EAGLE SQUARE TO MONITOR ALL ACTIVITIES OF BUHARI AND THE APC FROM DAY ONE, AND WE SHALL REGULARLY REPORT BACK TO THE MASSES AND TO GOD OF THEIR PERFORMANCES!

Domestic or External debts would not be acceptable as excuses for poor performances or failure to fulfil election promises! This young and energetic ex- soldier and his team must hit the ground running! The love of the LORD is their enabling strength because they can achieve all things through the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Muhammadu Buhari is divine choice; he is God’s anointed! SHIKE NA! (Meaning end of discussion).

Amen.
