WE
MUST BE OUR BROTHER’S KEEPER!
Calamity or disaster can befall anyone at any point in a life-time. No one
prays for sudden or disastrous event, but such an issue
of life cannot be easily wished away! Calamity may befall an individual, a
family, a group of people, a community or a nation at any given time or place –
it is an ill wind that blows no good!
This enigma called calamity, in some cases, may not lead to death,
but could be a prelude or harbinger that causes collateral damages, including
destruction of lives and properties, whenever it occurs!
Its origin could stem from human or natural factors. For instance,
calamities like assassinations, homicides, infanticides, fatal automobile
accidents, communal or civil wars, acts
of terrorism or insurgency, are humanly induced, while, gales, storms,
typhoons, destructive flooding from heavy down-pours, landslides, earthquakes
and ‘tsunamis’ are regarded as ‘acts of God’, in nature!
Ask most of our disabled or physically challenged brethren and you
will be astonished to learn that they were not born with any form of
disability!
The Scriptural first couple, Adam and Eve experienced calamity in
the murder of their second son by the hand of his elder sibling through a rage
of jealousy! This gruesome act, recorded in [Genesis. 4:1-12], as the first
global murder attracted divine attention which was met with a stiff opposition
from the culprit who denied his crime and queried GOD, “AM I MY BROTHER’S
KEEPER?”
Should the Nigerian refuse to be his brother’s keeper in view of
our present predicament as a nation? Apart from the insurgency which is taking
its toll on the masses, there are the crimes of kidnappings, armed robberies,
arson, brigandage, thuggery, etc, ravaging all nooks and crannies of our beloved
country unabated! All the law enforcement agencies, working at full capacity,
have been overstretched and many have abandoned their duty posts as the
TRENCHES became too hot!
While government is making serious efforts to proffer solution to
this menace, through dialogue and persuasion for peaceful co-existence between
our diverse groups, we insist that, States of the Federation under state of
emergency should embrace the palliative packages now being put together by Mr.
President and his team in the spirit of love and brotherhood.
*In our Zion B-BC Newsletter; Vol. 2. No. 29 Edition of March 2,
2014, titled:
“SOCIAL INJUSTICE, BOKO HARAM TERRORISM, JONATHAN’S ROLE AND
DIVINE SOLUTION!”:
WE RECOMMENDED THAT THE FOLLOWING PALLIATIVES BE URGENTLY PACKAGED
TO AMELIORATE THE AGONIES RESULTING FROM INSURGENCY IN THE NORTH EAST STATES OF
NIGERIA:
“To every problem, there is always a godly SOLUTION and having
prayed and fasted over this persistent issue of Boko Haram insurgency, we are
divinely favoured to prophesy the following solutions:
(1).A national day of prayer and fasting for repentance, to be
spiritually chosen by Mr. President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, who must
have the holy conviction that only righteousness will exalt NIGERIA and that
sin will constitute an albatross and a disgrace to the citizens![ Read
Proverbs.14-34; and 2Chronicles.7:14-15].
(2.) Authentic declaration of financial and immovable assets by
all civil servants, from Mr. President to the Clerks at the Local Government
Areas, be carried out without delay and all excess funds not commensurate with
salaries and or allowances, be voluntarily relinquished to government without
legal action against the righteous new Nigerians.
(2a.) A consensus People’s Account to be christened, THE ZACCHAEUS
REHABILITATION ACCOUNT, and backed by an Act of Parliament, be opened with
immediate effect to accommodate the voluntary monetary returns and supervised
by a committee of nominees from the six geo-political zones.[ Please read, Luke
19:1-10].
(2b.) Another committee of trustees from the zones should be put
in charge of all immovable assets to be turned over, to commercialize, manage
and turn them into viable ventures that would continue to boost the new account.
(2c.) All monies that will accrue to the Zacchaeus Rehabilitation
Account, including huge sums to be recovered from NNPC after the FORENSIC
AUDITING, will be permanently dedicated to succour, rehabilitate, re-orientate
and heal all indigenes, re-build and re-construct the homes and institutions, of our NORTHERN STATES brethren
who have been devastated by the Boko
Haram insurgency since 2009!
(3.) All illegal Federal Government accounts, namely (a) Excess
Crude Oil Sales Account and (b) Sovereign Wealth Fund, must be collapsed into
the Federation Account, according to constitutional provisions, a LUMP SUM OF
FIFTY BILLION UNITED STATES DOLLARS be transferred into the Zacchaeus
Rehabilitation Account and all legitimate withdrawals be subjected to due process
at all times!
IT IS TIME WE BECAME OUR
BROTHERS’ KEEPER!
Peter once asked the Lord
Jesus Christ, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins
against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered,” I tell you, not seven times,
but seventy-seven times!”[Read Matthew 18:21-22].
Thus saith the LORD,” Gird your loin my son, Goodluck Jonathan,
and obey these instructions set before you this day according to their sequence
and entirety, through my Prophet in ZION and it shall be well with you all the
days of your life. And for you, my children, Abubakar Shekau and Mohammed
Yusuf. It’s time to sheath your swords, I am willing to forgive, if you obey
me. Nigeria is MINE! She shall remain united! I the LORD have spoken! AMEN.”
*We are very happy to announce to you our esteem readers that GOD
THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS FINALLY TOUCHED, MR PRESIDENT, Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan
to carry out all of the LORD’s INSTRUCTIONS as follows:
(1)He has established, “THE INSURGENCY VICTIMS FUND”[TIVF], a
special fund to cater for victims of
insurgency in parts of the NORTH.
The funds for TIVF will be
raised through donations and contributions by a Committee of very eminent and
trustworthy Nigerians drawn from both the public and private sectors of the
economy.
(2)Mr. President also on Thursday 17th July, 2014, in
Abuja, inaugurated, the “SAFE SCHOOL INITIATIVE PROGRAMME”, [SSIP], which was
announced by the Business Community at the recently concluded World Economic
Forum on Africa.[WEFA].
(3) Minister of Finance said that the sum of $20million US
dollars, has been set aside for the take off of SSIP by WEFA and in addition,
the Nigerian Business Community and the Federal Government, have also
contributed $10 million US dollars each, totalling $40 million US dollars, to
support the programme.
(4) International Community has also indicated strong interest to
support the SSIP project which will compliment
The Insurgency Victims Fund,[TIVF], because parents, victims and
other people who suffered, will now have a portion, in terms of support for
them.
(5) Another package is the Presidential Initiative on the North
East States, which will ensure that emergency reliefs and other emergency
support to people who are affected, are urgently implemented.
(6) Finance Minister, explained that a component of RECONSTRUCTION
OF DAMAGED INFRASTRUCTURE under the Presidential Initiative on the North
East would also work with the SSIP;
adding that, THE WHOLE PACKAGE WAS DESIGNED TO COMPLIMENT ONE ANOTHER IN ORDER
TO ACHIEVE THE DESIRED SUCCESS!
* We have it on good authority that all initiatives by Mr.
President and his team are appreciated and are being carried out with the
consent of the affected States. It was
also confirmed that IMPLEMENTATION, will involve the collective efforts of the
States’ Local Government Communities as well as International Partners, working
in partnership with the Federal Government.
*WE CONGRATULATE
MR.PRESIDENT FOR THE POSITIVE STEPS TAKEN TO CALM FRAYED NERVES. THIS IS AN
ACT OF DIVINE OBEDIENCE AND WILL BE
ADEQUATELY REWARDED! HOWEVER WE PRAY, THAT HE WOULD NOT ALLOW BAD ADVISERS TO
EVER DECEIVE HIM AGAIN. HE SHOULD REMEMBER THAT POWER IS TRANSIENT!
*HOWEVER, OUR NUMBER ONE RECOMMENDATION FOR A NATIONAL DAY OF
PRAYER AND FASTING FOR REPENTANCE, WHICH SHOULD BE SPIRITUALLY CHOSEN BY MR.
PRESIDENT, IS STILL OUTSTANDING! *Mr. President should waste no further time to
comply with this most important spiritual issue!
*Bornu State Governor, Kashim Shettima, and his cabinet must also
be praised for their collective perseverance and trust in God that the Boko Haram
insurgency would definite be won! He was
privy to all the Initiatives, and he represented
his Yobe and Adamawa counterparts at the inauguration of SSIP, which was attended by the Education Minister, World
renowned businessman, Aliko Dangote and publisher of the This Day Newspaper.
*It is written: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and
sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD?
“To obey is better than sacrifice and to heed is better than the
fat of rams.
“For rebellion is like the sin of divination and arrogance like
the evil of idolatry.”[1Samuel.15:22-23a].
* Ahab, King of Israel did more evil in the eyes of the LORD than
any of those before him but when chastised, he repented and humbled himself
before God! [1Kings.21:25-29].
*Nineveh was a very sinful nation but when it was about to be
wiped out by God, the King called for prayers and fasting, which included
ANIMALS; and he saved his nation! [Book of Jonah.3:5-10].
*AHAB DID IT; THE KING OF NINEVEH DID IT; GOODLUCK EBELE AZIKIWE
JONATHAN IS DOING IT!
*THE ALMIGHTY GOD WHO IS WITH NIGERIA IS GREATER THAN ALL THE
POLITICAL CHARLATANS AND INSURGENTS WHO ARE AGAINST THIS NATION!
If
you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, don’t miss this
great opportunity as you pray this prayer:
Lord
Jesus; I confess that I am a sinner who needs to be saved through the grace of
the New Testament of your Blood, shed on the Cross at Calvary; I renounce every
sin in my life and accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive me and
write my name in the Book of Life. Amen.
