NATIONAL SOCIAL INVESTMENT PROGRAM (NSIP), THE CONDUIT PIPE TO TREASURY LOOTING!

#CAMPAIGN FOR REFERENDUM AND NOT VIOLENT AGITATIONS! [NO.53]. –DR. DAVID OLUFON.  17th January 2023.

CITIZENS SCORECARD OF BUHARI: 2015-2023 (PART 4).

NATIONAL SOCIAL INVESTMENT PROGRAM (NSIP), THE CONDUIT PIPE TO TREASURY LOOTING!

On 19th June 2016 the Zion -B-BC News letter Edition 149, published a story of the APC’s free primary school feeding project which it described it as “…a misplaced priority” and a FREE FEEDING FRAUD!
It’s seven years down the line and the assertion has been proved right because the so-called feeding project died a natural death!
BUT President Major General Muhammadu Buhari's spokesman 'Femi Adesina has claimed that NSIP was a positive score card of the old General’s Regime as follows : “Buhari Administration launched the first National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), in the country’s history and was today the largest social investment program in Africa and one of the largest in the world.”

A BLATANT LIE!
At the onset, General Buhari was away on medical tourism in London, but acting President ‘Yemi Osibanjo on Thursday 9th June 2016, launched the much-publicized National Home Grown School Feeding and Health Program (HGSFHP), at the ASO ROCK VILLA ABUJA on his behalf with several state governors in attendance.
• The project was one of the several campaign promises of the ruling party to feed millions of primary school children with highly nutritional foods that will enhance their learning capabilities, battle hunger, among the less privileged families, attract and entice out of school children back into the system and make learning more conducive and comfortable.
•  Professor Osinbajo was quoted to have said on that occasion that the Federal Government School Feeding Program among other benefits would create 1.4 million jobs, increase food production by 530,000 metric tons annually and attract fresh investments of up to ₦980 billion naira.

BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE A POLICY SOMERSAULT!

1. Federal Government planned to feed only pupils of primaries 1 to 3 of some 18 unidentified States without others in primaries 4 to 6.
2. It was not disclosed whether the children would be served breakfast or lunch during school hours since most primary school pupils normally spent between 5 to 6 hours daily from Monday through Friday.
3. It was not also disclosed how the 850 pupils of a rural school or 2,500 pupils of a city school would be catered for on daily basis.
4. APC Government did not disclose whether the caterers who prepare the so-called nutritious meals from their various destinations and serve them or they would cook such meals within the school premises under the watchful eyes of appointed nutritionists and official supervisors.
5. Within the six months from June to December, 2016, other ancillary social projects also like TRADER MONEY, MARKET WOMEN MONEY, GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMME also crept into the plan while SMSEs became moribund!

NSIP was also saddled with other programs known as N- POWER; Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program (GEEP), and the Conditional Cash Transfer Program (CCT), to ensure a more equitable distribution of resources to vulnerable populations including children use and women.

And when COVID-19 came calling through a global LOCKDOWN between 2020-2021, the overall supervising Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development said ₦500 million Naira was spent on school feeding in two States to curb the spread of the pandemic in the country.
The minister also said 124,589 households were also fed with the sum of ₦523,273,800, during the COVID-19 lockdown at the rate of ₦4,200 per family through a PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE!

Public outcry over the dubious uncertified disbursements of such humongous amount of money during the lockdown as social investment benefits to the downtrodden has since died down!
Out-of-school children figure has increased to about 13 million as at the end of December 2022 and in view of ALL DEFICITS IN THE ECONOMY OF NIGERIA nobody is talking about School Feeding Program anymore or any Social Investment Programme for that matter because Nigeria is BANKRUPT, BROKE AND KOBOLESS LIKE IN A FAILED STATE!
(Insult upon an injury!

FOOD AND AGRICULTURE ORGANISATION (FAO), PREDICTS FOOD SHORTAGE IN NIGERIA BETWEEN JUNE AND AUGUST 2023!

In spite of the fact that not less than 133 million people in Nigeria are facing food crisis and hyper-inflation of two digits (25.7 percent), 26 States including the Federal Capital Territory will be affected with food shortages!
The most vulnerable populations willl be found in Borno, Adamawa, Yobe and Taraba States.
However the good news is that the country of Norway in synergy with FAO will intervene in the next three years 2023- 2026, to ameliorate the sufferings and it is believed that not less than 43,990 households will be succoured – most especially farmers in women who receive agricultural inputs livestock assets energy-savings stoves etc.

CITIZENS OF NIGERIA SCORE BUHARI ZERO ON SOCIAL INTERVENTION PROGRAMS WHICH ARE NON-EXISTENT!
Nigeria is ripe for LEADERSHIP REVOLUTION NOW!
The way to go is a PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT THROUGH REFERENDUM. Parliamentarians from all constituencies must be voted to take over affairs of governance in a most democratic manner and will choose from the winning party a PRIME MINISTER who will be responsible and accountable to the population in general.

Please share on internet and all social media platforms for larger coverage.  God bless Nigeria. Amen.
