POVERTY OF PER CAPITA INCOME IS NOT POVERTY OF IDEAS IN NIGERIA!

ZION B-BC   NEWSLETTER.

(Looking at Nigeria's Political System from a Godly Perspective).

A Publication of the Zion Faith Bible-Believing Church, Kpeyegyi, Abuja Nigeria. [VOL. 7. NO 258. 22ndJuly, 2018.] “…ONLY The Truth, Will Set You   Free! (John.8:32).

POVERTY OF PER CAPITA INCOME IS NOT POVERTY OF IDEAS IN NIGERIA!

Nigeria as the most populous nation of black people in Africa and the Diaspora, the economic hub and business destination of international entrepreneurs from across the globe, should have been accredited as a potential candidate among the 20 most-economically- viable nations by the year 2020, according to recent report of the United Nations (UN) Common Country Analysis (CCA), in view of all economic indices on ground and through the purposeful and determined efforts of the current Nigerian Economic Management Team, in its aggressive poverty-alleviation policy drives (between May, 2015 to July, 2018), which have yielded  appreciable, noticeable and positive results for the citizens! It was wrong for the UN Body to employ analogue statistics to measure current digital achievements of a 21st Century Nigeria!

Reduced per capita income (or the "per person" equity share in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), of citizens would not translate into poverty of existence, soul, mind, or of ideas because through the execution of well-formulated/modulated ideas, great nations have emerged!
THE UNITED NATIONS would not have occupied the exalted position of co-ordinating world affairs if some great and outstanding NIGERIAN INTELLECTUALS have not contributed to the building of the strong institutions of developing nations, beginning from Africa to the Caribbean’s, including "developed nations/world powers" of the USA/EUROPEAN COUNTRIES in Education, Information/Communication Technology (ICT), Medicine, Law, the Arts, Politics, Aeronautics, Nuclear and Space Rocket Sciences etc,!
It is therefore very unfortunate for this world body to cast a blanket perception of institutional failure, based on the past discredited administrations of Nigeria, instead of seconding tested diplomats to RE-ASSESS NIGERIA'S CURRENT ECONOMIC PLATFORM of the new administration before jumping into such thoughtless and unsavoury conclusions, even if Nigeria's per capita might be lower than USD $2 dollars, considering the fact that the nation came out of RECESSION early in 2018!

WE BELIEVE THAT THOSE NIGERIANS WHO ORCHESTRATED THE POVERTY ANALYSIS BY UN (CCA), AND THE PROGRESSION CHART USED BY WORLD POVERTY CLOCK (WPC), TO DISCEDIT NIGERIA WERE VERY UNPATRIOTIC!

When Nigeria was not adjudged the most corrupt nation by global detractors, it was the country with the worst infant and maternal mortality rates according to their pre-conceived statistics; thereafter, it was the nation with the highest accident rates and the most unsafe country in the universe to do business; and in that succession, the list goes on BECAUSE THEY STILL BELIEVED THAT THE "LEOPARD CAN NEVER CHANGE ITS SPOTS!" The current travails of insecurity through Boko Haram insurgency, killer herdsmen/farmers clashes, kidnappings and communal clashes, are not classified social malaise that are exclusive or limited to Nigeria - EVERTY NATION SHOULD CARRY ITS CROSS!

THE OBNOXIOUS UNITED NATIONS REPORT PRESUMPTIONS ARE UNTENABLE!
In spite of the fact that Nigeria has one of the highest economic growth rates in the world, it was adjudged in the year 2016, in a United Nations (UN), report tagged, Common Country Analysis, (CCA), as the one of the poorest countries in terms of per capita income!
In the year 2017, it was reported that poverty- stricken Nigerians depended mostly on REMITTANCES from the Diaspora as economic crisis bit harder in the first quarter; and now in 2018 second quarter, Nigeria, according to " World Poverty Clock",  WPC, June, 2018, Nigeria had about 87 million people living in poverty as against India's 73 million! Before the turn of the 21st Century, China and India, the two most populous countries in the world hosted the poorest of the poor globally but the former which Nigeria is emulating, had transformed into a very viable economic nation, second only to the United States!

According to the unacceptable universal projections, Nigeria and the Republic of Congo, "now share" the last two positions at the bottom of the ladder of poorest nations, but we strongly belief that the efforts of the current admistration in erasing that notion through its determined and unrelenting efforts through diversification to land cultivation and exploration of god-given mineral resources, in the past THREE AND A HALF YEARS, were not considered in that report! Currently, there is a deliberate effort of transferring wealth to farmers, other land cultivators and the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMSE's), who have taken advantage of government-assisted bank support through the CBN, BOI, and the African Development Bank, soft loans, which were alien to those sectors in the past!
In addition, there were aggressive moves by APC governments (Federal and States), to reduce the number of able-bodied un-employment/under-employment of employable adults at all sectors of economic development of the nation through massive employment of technical/university graduates, which will increase to about 500,000 employments before the expiration the second quarter, in spite of the available scarce resources!

The market women, artisans of all grades and vocations, were not excised from the largesse rolled out by President Muhammadu Buhari, who perhaps, has the love of the poor masses of Nigeria at heart and has so exhibited his passion for them so passionately more than anyone else in this century!
NIGERIA IS POISED TO BE RANKED AMONG THE 20 MOST ECONOMICALLY-VIABLE NATIONS BY THE YEAR 2020 - WHILE THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs), PROGRESSES TO ITS LOGICAL CONCLUSIONS IN 2030!

NIGERIA SHOULD NOT BE JUDGED BY THE SPILL-OVER FROM THE DARK OLD DAYS!
Dubious Nigerian politicians had been the bane, the pains, sorrows and woes of Nigerians until determined and positive steps were taken by the ELECTORATE to give them the boots in 2015! While they have continuously dwelt in stupendous wealth and opulence, the masses they pretended to represent were virtually cursed to suffer in squalor and abject poverty for life, whereas the nation's wealth really belonged to the masses who "hew of the wood and draw of the water" as THE NATURAL WORKFORCE AND HUMAN CAPITAL that provided the luxuries with which they are puffed up! These politicians who dwell in tightly-secured posh houses in the high-rise government reserved areas of the cities, drive bullet-proof G- WAGONS, RANGE ROVERS and other state-of-art SUV's, fly in personal jet aircrafts across the state capitals for spurious selfish journeys not related to the welfare of their citizens, while their citizens were abandoned since Independence, to dwell in villages, hamlets mud/thatched-roofed houses in the remotest and undeveloped areas of the nation without any form of security for their lives have given room for FOREIGNERS TO CAST ASPERSIONS ON THE NEW ADMINISTRATION OF THE FAITHFUL TEAM WHICH IS DETERMINED TO RESTORE THE HUMAN DIGNITY TO ITS ENDEARING PEOPLE!

HOW AND WHY had a population of the Nigerian politicians and the entire Civil Service structure - who occupy positions of authorities (Federal and States) including all parastatals added together, which is less than 20 million - in a country filled with able-bodied men, women and ebullient YOUTHS of about 200 million - BEEN ABLE TO MANIPULATE the masses since 1999 - 2015; with the ripple effects of those inglorious years spiralling into the CHANGE AGENDA of the new administration as it struggles to establish a righteous government for the poor masses? THE UNITED NATIONS CANNOT ASSESS NIGERIA'S ECONOMIC SUCCESS THROUGH THE MISDEAMENOR OF THOSE OLD HORSES WHO ARE ON THEIR WAY OUT OF THE SYSTEM, FOR THE DESIRED CREDIBILITY OF THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION TO BE MADE MANIFEST!

VOTE BUYING IS AN ELECTORAL OFFENCE - IT MUST STOP WITH EKITI JULY 14, 2018 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION!
The recently-concluded Ekiti Governorship Election, won by APC's Dr. John 'Kayode Fayemi, has again thrown up the nauseating and criminal practice of VOTE-BUYING, from the electorate through the FORMULA OF ROBING PETER TO PAY PAUL OR THE DOCTRINE OF DIVIDE AND RULE which cunning Nigerian politicians in power had successfully employed over the years (1999-2018) to keep poverty alive in the land!

Able-bodied citizens were deprived opportunities of GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATION and by so-doing, were reduced to illiterates who would be willing to SELL THEIR BIRTHRIGHTS - THEIR PERMANENT VOTERS CARDS (PVC's), THROUGH SUBTLE COERCION), - FOR MEAGRE SUMS OF MONEY FROM BETWEEN N500 - 5,000 NAIRA ON ELECTION DAYS TO BECOME SERVANTS INSTEAD OF MASTERS TO THE CLEVER POLITICIANS FOR ANOTHER FOUR YEARS OF MIS-GOVERNANCE!

POLITICIANS ALWAYS HAD THIEFING FINGERS IN GOVERNMENTS' COFFERS!
The crooked politicians in government have all the official apparatuses to confuse issues and manipulate same in their favour! For instance, what do the Legislators who are aware of their limitations in respect of oversight functions of annual Budgets, but collude to dissect the citizens sacred document - (that did not originate from them), - make selfish and criminal insertions, - (and deliberately delayed such important document of the nation for over half of its life-span period), intend to gain from such attitude other than the illicit accumulation of illegal wealth to the detriment of the down-trodden masses they deceitfully claim to represent?

In the event of such delays as had been occurring since 1999 till date, a FIRE BRIGADE approach is forced to be deployed by all CASH-DISPENSING POINTS of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA's), of government to disburse an avalanche of monies into the SYSTEM to cater for dubious infrastructural projects that were never meant to be executed within the limited time-frame for the budget year to EXPIRE and the illicitly appropriated monies were then diverted into the pockets/bank accounts of the politicians and their cronies for such to be eventually used to keep the TALAKAWAS (downtrodden), in perpetual slavery! GOD FORBID!

AS YOU READ THIS PIECE, HASTEN TO COLLECT YOUR PVCS BEFORE 22ND AUGUST, 2018, WHICH IS INEC'S CLOSING DATE FOR FRESH REGISTRATIONS AND ARM YOURSELVES WITH THE POWER TO VOTE OUT (IN 2019), POLITICIANS WHO HAVE PERFORMED DISCREDITABLY IN OFFICE IN THIS DISPENSATION! YOUR VOTE IS YOUR RIGHT, DON'T SELL IT! "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.’’ (Rev 3:22).

If you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, don’t miss this great opportunity as you pray this prayer: Lord Jesus; I confess that I am a sinner who needs to be saved through the grace of the New Testament of your Blood, shed on the Cross at Calvary; I renounce every sin in my life and accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive me and write my name in the Book of Life. Amen. If you prayed this prayer, you have been admitted into the family of sons and daughters of God, who are born-again. Congratulations.

I am, yours sincerely, Dr. David B.A. Olufon, Resident Pastor and Editor. 08130669886, 08098194390.  08080243066. g-mail- dvdolufon@gmail.com.
