ADESINA MUST APOLOGISE TO NORTHERN ELDERS FORUM!

ZION B-BC   NEWSLETTER.

(Looking at Nigeria's Political System From a Godly Perspective)

A Publication of the Zion Faith Bible-Believing Church Kpeyegyi Abuja Nigeria {Vol. 9.NO 340. 16th  February, 2020.} “…ONLY The Truth, Will Set You  Free! (John.8:32). . PRAY & FAST EVERY WEDNESDAY TO STOP BLOODSHED IN NIGERIA!

ADESINA MUST APOLOGISE TO NORTHERN ELDERS FORUM!

The nagging issue of insecurity and its condemnation which has dominated Nigeria’s public space unabatedly especially when President Muhammadu Buhari re-emerged in 2019, as winner to run a second term in office, has gained a momentum which, if caution is not applied, will further damage the North/South dichotomy along ethnic and tribal lines!
It is a fundamental right of any citizen to lawfully express dissatisfaction against any government policy, action or inaction and seek appropriate redress as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; but such should be done constructively in order not to infringe on the rights of others!

On Sunday 9th February 2020, the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), addressed the Media on what the body perceived as failure of government to adequately protect its citizens – especially in the past five years of the Buhari administration - buttressed their argument with glaring facts and proffered solutions as follows:
That the APC Administration under the watch of President Buhari is a total failure because he had nothing to offer. Our Comment: NOT CORRECT!
That he has not been able to handle the security, economic and other biting issues facing the nation. Our Comment: NOT CORRECT!
That poverty, particularly in the North and massive social security have worsened under Buhari’s administration. Our Comment: NOT CORRECT!
That the relationship between insecurity and poverty is fundamental. Our Comment: VERY CORRECT!

HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT ALL CRITICISMS – THERE WERE APPEALS AND SUGGESTIONS!
The Forum believes that Nigerians have rights to security and demanded a thorough overhaul of the security architecture and the injection of higher levels of competence, integrity and accountability for better approach to overcome security challenges.
The Forum appealed to religious leaders and fellow citizens not to fall into the trap of insurgents “to set us up against each other” .....”we condemn the tactic of targeting Christians and publicising their execution by an insurgency seeking to exploit our different faiths”. “We also condemn the murder of thousands of Muslims and Christians in communities which the insurgency has made permanent targets in the last decade.” “These are times when we must unite and resist a common enemy as well as demand that our leaders protect us all as Nigerians.”
NEF supports in principle the idea of improving the policing capacities of the nation within the ambit of the law and not designed as instrument of harassment to particular groups or interests and recommended the adoption of a more vigorous and inclusive process that would be acceptable to all stakeholders.
The Forum appealed to governments and communities to commit further to living together in peace and avoid a resurgence of certain types of conflicts such as ethnic and farmers/herders clashes which multiplier effects cause damaging setbacks to successes already made at improving community relations.

PRESIDENCY LAMBASTS NORTHERN ELDERS FORUM!
On behalf of the President, ‘Femi Adesina who was re-appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity in 2019, countered and described the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Chairman, Professor Ango Abdullahi, as akin to a “General without troops”, claiming that “NEF was a one man army; and that  Ango Abdullahi was NEF and NEF was Ango Abdullahi”!
If all of the above vituperation was published in the social media by anybody, it might not raise any eye brow but coming from a presidential spokesman, appointed from the South, one might need a magnifying glass to decipher the intent and purpose of the venom in the language employed by ‘Femi Adesina!

THE MESSENGER AND HIS MESSAGE SHOULD NOT BE DISMISSED!
What could have caught the ire of this young man against respected elders of this great nation who have immensely contributed their own quota to the political, socio-economic, educational, industrial, security sectors etc in their own rights and should be so rightfully accorded immense respect? Our investigation revealed that NEF is chaired by an academia, Professor Ango Abdullahi, former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with membership drawn from eminent politicians, captains of industry, successful businessmen, retired military/police security experts etc, who cut across the three geo-political zones of the North.

We also confirmed that NEF played significant role and supported the campaigns of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the events that led to the emergence of President Buhari as winner in the 2015 Presidential Elections, but refused to support him in 2019, for all the reasons stated during the press conference!

OTHER DEROGATORY COMMENTS BY ADESINA!
Presidential spokesman ‘Femi Adesina also said that, NEF  was “not a conglomeration of true elders” but a quasi-organisation that boasts of no credible membership and merely waving a flag that is at half mast”! Adesina concluded that: “President Buhari steadily and steadfastly focuses on the task of retooling Nigeria and discerning Nigerians know the true state of the nation. They don’t need a paper tiger to tell them anything”
COMMENTS: The Yoruba Race does not take kindly to disrespect of the hoary hair – the elders who are custodians of custom, culture and tradition!
BUT Adesina has proven to be unfaithful to neither custom nor tradition when he claimed in a tribute dedicated to President Buhari on his 77th birthday on 17th December, 2019, that he was Yoruba, a Christian but most importantly, an unrepentant “BUHARIST” who had great respect for the President whom he described as his “BABA”, a man of integrity, impeccable, faithful and very honest but in the new year 2020, now describes BABA Prof. Ango Abdullahi as a “General without troops,” and other BABAS as NOT, “a conglomerate of true leaders, but a quasi- organisation that boast of no credible membership, and merely waving a flag that is at half mast”!
The position of this young man is very precarious because he is the exact opposite of his principal, the President who is a meek, unassuming and very humble person, who refused to open his mouth in the face of vilifications sponsored by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ex-President Aremu Obasanjo, ‘Femi Fani-Kayode, Ayodele Fayose, ‘Reno Omokri, Raymond Dokpesi’s African Independent Television (AIT)/Ray Power, Arewa Youth Forum, etc, etc, from 2014 till date!
We did not see anything new or strange in the NEF publication to deserve the kind of insults rained upon the Northern Elders whom ‘Femi Adesina took to the cleaners, all in the passion of being an obsessed BUHARIST!
The Presidency may keep mute in order not to contradict itself BUT the damage must be rectified! The Word of God says: “Honour thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee,” (Exodus. 20:12). Young  Adesina MUST apologise to Professor Ango Abdullahi and all elder members of NEF to fulfil the biblical doctrine of RESTITUTION if he is truly a Yoruba man and also a true Christian!
CONCLUSIONS: Criticisms alone would not solve the myriad/ multi-faceted problems of Nigeria; but when married with constructive suggestions through regular intelligence gathering for solutions which must flow from patriotic citizens regularly to address security and sundry social issues will work the miracle!
Nigerians should not forget easily how the Federal Government was able to re-capture 14 Local Governments from Boko Haram occupation between 2015-2016, when the retired General Buhari came on board.... and how his administration has touched millions of lives through the Social Intervention Programmes (SIPs), Micro Small Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMSEs), which the Vice President ‘Yemi Osinbajo said recently would consolidate  efforts made by the Federal Government in the past four years to improve the economy and enjoined stronger collaboration with States.

On Monday 10th February, 2020, Nasarawa State became the 26th State of the Federation in which the National MSMEs Clinics was launched by the VP who encouraged the people to take full advantage of opportunities offered through the scheme and the State to create an enabling business environment. In his words: “President Buhari is determined to create a Nigeria in which small business owners are nurtured and encouraged to thrive and prosper”.
Although Adesina also said that the Northern Elders Forum led by Professor Ango Abdullahi, had always been anti-Buhari and so “there’s nothing new in their antagonistic position.....that  they backed a candidate in the 2019 election, and they all bit the dust together.... Case of sour grapes,” he concluded! We have since discovered that NEF disagreed with Buhari on issues of principles in 2019, having supported him earlier in 2015!
NEF’s decision at the 2019 was the expression of fundamental right which should not be contested! How would Adesina treat the case of Ex- Governor, Abdulazeez Yari who sold the entire APC’s Zamfara’s State to the PDP at the 2019 General Elections?
The “BUHARISM” VOW of ‘Femi Adesina is only a lip service! If he could abuse the President’s peer group so gleefully today, he would delightfully do the same to Buhari tomorrow when he joins NEF after 29th May, 2023 and he would neither be the first nor the last to do so!
A Yoruba adage states that, “A SLAVE SHOULD BEHAVE AS THE HEIR WHEN SENT ON A ROYAL ENGAGEMENT!” The elite presidential space should no longer be desecrated as a Social Media platform!
President Buhari should curb the excesses of his media team to save himself from further embarrassment that could further rubbish all his good efforts and intensions for the TALAKAWAS! A WORD IS SUFFICIENT FOR THE WISE!

If you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, don’t miss this great opportunity as you pray this prayer: Lord Jesus; I confess that I am a sinner who needs to be saved through the grace of the New Testament of your Blood, shed on the Cross at Calvary; I renounce every sin in my life and accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive me and write my name in the Book of Life. Amen. If you prayed this prayer, you have been admitted into the family of sons and daughters of God, who are born-again. Congratulations.
