HAS NUHU RIBADU REPLACED BOLA TINUBU AS COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF?

In over 72 hours after Donald Trump’s bombing of an alleged “ISIS Desert Camp” in Sokoto North West Nigeria, neither Mr. NSA, Nuhu Ribadu nor the US Government was forthcoming on details of the very embarrassing “collaborative” military braggadocio!
BUT The Leadership Newspaper says it has it on good authority that a second round of bombings would now be focused on the North East and Chad Basin Area where ISWAP Camps have been identified and named a certain Brant Phillip, a Sahel-focused Terrorism racket as its source.
AND the Presidency which at the initial stages of Donald Trump’s threat to destroy all forms of genocidal attacks on Nigerian Christians pledged to protect the nation’s sovereignty also became mute until the American President claimed SOLO VICTORY over the Christmas Day Bombings before interjecting that the Operation was “A COLLABO”!
The Leadership Newspaper had a field day until an ARISE TV Correspondent visited Tangaza, Sokoto on Sunday 28th December to broadcast live information from the theatre of the US military intervention.
There was no information that Nigerian Ground Forces participated in the exercise neither was there mention of collateral damages, casualties or Prisoners of War (POWS), or any video coverage.
However residents engaged in their businesses in peace according to the video posted on Internet.
The Reporter claimed that residents saw terrorists fleeing the area after the devastating explosion which official sources had earlier classified simply as successful!
The Leadership informant Mr. Brant Phillp also claimed that the United States has resumed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations over Nigeria’s north-east region, targeting militants in the Sambisa Forest on Saturday, 21st December and shared a flight-tracking data showing a US aircraft flying over Borno State.
WHAT WAS NIGERIA’S COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF’S ROLE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE MILITARY OPERATION?
Social Media Reports claimed that the renewed US engagement came just weeks after National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, met with US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth in Washington amid growing tension over President Donald Trump’s threats of military intervention in Nigeria.
After that meeting, Hegseth was quoted to have said the US Department of Defence would work “aggressively” with Nigeria to end what he described as the “persecution of Christians by jihadist terrorists.”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu departed Lagos on Sunday, December 28, for Europe, continuing his end-of-year break and ahead of his official trip to Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, has invited President Tinubu to participate in the 2026 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit, which will take place in the emirate early in January.
The week-long summit is an annual event that mobilizes leaders from government, business, and society to chart the next era of sustainable development.
With the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go”, ADSW will connect ambition with action across innovation, finance, and people, showcasing how the world can move forward with confidence.’
The President will return to the country after the Summit.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s departure to Europe for an end-of-year break before proceeding to Abu Dhabi has generated mixed reactions.
Many Nigerians criticized the timing, citing recent attacks in Sokoto and Zamfara States, ongoing economic hardship, and the frequency of his foreign travel.
But the president’s special adviser defended the trip, stating it includes an official invitation to the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit. However critics argue that the trip shows insensitivity given the nation’s challenges and that the president should have stayed in Nigeria.
The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2026, including the main ADSW Summit and the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), runs from January 11 to January 17, 2026, with the core Summit events happening from January 13-15 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
The week kicks off with the IRENA Assembly (Jan 11-12) and culminates in various forums and summits, focusing on energy transition, climate finance, and sustainable development.

Donald Trump’s obsessive interest in Nigeria is not about stopping genocidal war against Christians but on how to tactfully harness the immense mineral resources – especially URANIUM- as WE had published in our Newsletter Edition Vol.14.No.628 of 2nd November 2025.
Donald Trump’s administration has negotiated various agreements related to securing access to natural resources, particularly critical minerals, with at least 15 countries, often linking these deals to trade, economic cooperation, and in some cases, security assistance.
The countries and jurisdictions involved in these arrangements include:
Argentina, Cambodia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Indonesia, South Korea, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.
These entities were part of a larger group that had “closed deals confirmed by both parties” as of November 2025, which included provisions related to trade and supply chains, some involving natural resources.
Australia and Japan: Signed more advanced “critical minerals frameworks” with the U.S. that include substantial financial commitments for joint projects and efforts to curb Chinese acquisition of mining assets.
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda: The U.S. brokered a peace deal between the DRC and Rwanda, with Trump indicating that the U.S. would gain access to “a lot of the mineral rights from the Congo” as part of the arrangement, which also involved discussions of U.S. military assistance to the DRC.
Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam: Signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) focused on diversifying critical mineral supply chains, with Malaysia agreeing not to ban or impose quotas on exports of these materials to the U.S..
Ukraine: The U.S. and Ukraine entered into a landmark minerals deal potentially giving the U.S. preferential rights to key natural resources like graphite, titanium, and lithium, in return for continued U.S. support and a joint reconstruction investment fund.
Additionally, lobbying efforts connected to Trump-linked firms have involved other resource-rich nations like Angola, Pakistan, Somalia, and Haiti, with some offering resource opportunities in exchange for potential U.S. support or the lifting of sanctions. Discussions were also pursued with resource-rich Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) and the idea of acquiring Greenland for its resources was also floated.
Trump-linked firms make millions from aid-deprived nations.
