SUBSIDY IS A SCAM: NIGERIANS WILL NEVER PAY MORE THAN N145.00, PER LITRE FOR PETROL!

SUBSIDY in any economic clime should serve as a buffer of financial support or assistance such as grant, given especially by government to an institution or a body and specifically directed to cushion effects of political, economic or social challenges.
In Nigeria that word crept into the Petroleum Sector's lexicon in 1999, when ex-President Aremu Obasanjo surreptitiously connived with some "Energy Experts" to introduce the obnoxious terminology and had since remained a sing-song and a nightmare, because it favoured the very rich instead of the downtrodden to whom it was "intended" and who were always the SCAPEGOATS of the every maladministration of consecutive governments!

Nigeria has been blessed with the underground natural resource of CRUDE OIL or BLACK GOLD, which when scientifically refined, metamorphose into sundry petroleum products such as, Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly called Petrol, Diesel Oil, Kerosene, and Lubricants such as Grease, Engine Oil etc. Nigeria is categorized as the Sixth largest producer of crude oil in the world!
Of all the by-products from refined Crude Oil, Petrol and Kerosene stand out as the most adorable to the masses for the following reasons:
Due to a permanent failure of government in the Power Sector, majority of the population solely depend on petrol to power their "generators", grinding machines, commercial motor bikes and tri-cycles, etc.
And for regular cooking of their meals, the masses have resorted to the service of Kerosene, since the felling of economic/environmental trees was forbidden by law!

BUT IN SIXTEEN YEARS of the advent of the new democratic dispensation 1999-2015, it became more evident that there was a deliberate move by the DIARCHY that took over in the transfer of power from Military to Civilian administration, moved in with a hidden agenda to supersede the Khaki men in fleecing the nation of the proceeds from the SOLE foreign currency-earner product!

The Military, in almost 30 years of successive treasonable administrations, built and handed over FOUR functioning crude oil refineries to the civilians but in the subsequent years when desperate/reckless opportunist politicians took over the mantle of leadership, not one single refinery had been built! The existing ones were deliberately left to rot due to lack of maintenance while exportation of crude oil to overseas countries for refining became an official policy of government till date!
Who were those faceless ingenious consultants/ENERGY EXPERTS who convinced the government that it made better economic sense for the administration to IMPORT REFINED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS instead of building NEW REFINERIES?
They have not only robbed the Nigerian masses of their God-given common wealth through a so-called controversial financial support claimed to be "given by government to promote economic and social policies in the Oil Sector", without any consultation or impute by the masses who should be beneficiaries of the policy!

EXORBITANT LANDING COST OF REFINED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS GAVE BIRTH TO "SUBSIDY"!
The refined petroleum products in question were extracted from the Nigerian Crude Oil which was arbitrarily transported by the Federal Government Contractors to overseas countries and brought back at exorbitant and unaffordable prices!
That this subsidy, according to economic watchers, though said to be “given” by government to remove some type of “financial burden” considered to be of  PUBLIC INTEREST was not backed by  good intentions as it fell short of proven transparency!
The import of this fraudulent charade is that CRUDE OIL which belongs to Nigerians, is taken by Nigerian politicians in position of authority who appoint Nigerian PETROLEUM CONTRACTORS to “purchase” the BLACK GOLD, export it overseas for refining and then import it back to Nigeria to be sold to the masses who could not afford the LANDING COST of about N250, 00 per litre!
At this juncture, government as the contractee now intervenes to perfect the fraudulent scheme by RIPPING OFF the common wealth to pay the difference between the landing cost and its FIXED PUMP PRICE which was not decided by MARKET FORCES to its APPOINTED AND SELECTED PETROLEUM CONTRACTORS, and thereafter labels such inappropriate and fraudulent expenses as SUBSIDY!
The above procedure of importing petroleum products to Nigeria has been the monumental corruption that has plagued the nation since the new attempt at democratic governance;
but successive Nigerian governments want the uninformed citizens to swallow, (hook, line and sinker), their propaganda of protecting interest of the masses through regulated pump prices of the petroleum products; but this RACKET has, instead produced multi-millionaires/ billionaires at the expense of the MONO-ECONOMY AND THE POOR MASSES WHO COULD HARDLY AFFORD TWO SQUARE MEALS PER DAY!
What the nation requires are the construction of more PETROLEUM PRODUCTS REFINERIES, to augment the present FOUR, which were built during the Military regimes!
Nigerians have always spoken with one voice that there was nothing like FUEL SUBSIDY but an organized robbery of the nations coffers by a very few hard-hearted CABAL IN GOVERNMENT!

At the end of the second quarter of 2018, fuel subsidy hit N2.4 billion on daily basis and as such lost the gains of increases in the international crude oil prices because subsidy rose to N 774 million in March because NNPC (sole importer of petroleum finished products), increased imports by 34% according to Petroleum Pump Price Regulatory Agency (PPPRA)!
Between January and November 2018, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), spent a total of N 623.16billion on fuel subsidy under its under-recovery arrangement.
AND, though President Muhammadu Buhari, who was both military Head of State and Minister of Petroleum Resources, during the military interregnum tried to do things differently from 2015 by totally scraping petroleum subsidy which was most advantageous to the corruptly rich politicians, but to no avail!  When the pump price of PMS was increased from N87, 00, to N 145, 00 per litre, we passionately appealed to the masses to accept and embrace the very unpalatable arrangement as a sacrifice for President Buhari, whose integrity and pedigree could be relied upon. We also recommended that the Federal Government should without delay embark on the construction of new refineries in the Six Geo-political Zones and also grant licences to State Governments to invest in building refineries, for the NIGERIAN CRUDE OIL TO BE REFINED IN NIGERIA!
So far the news making the rounds is that FG could only afford to carry out TURN-AROUND-MAINTENANCE (TAM), of the existing FOUR Refineries for now in view of financial constraints. Foreign contractors who built the Refineries, 34 years ago and their engineers have  been engaged to carry out the TAM within NINE months from March, 2019 in the strong belief that from the year 2020, the DANGOTE REFINERY WOULD ALSO HAVE COME ON STREAM AND THE MONUMENTAL FRAUD AGAINST THE NIGERIAN MASSES CALLED PETROLEUM SUBSIDY WOULD CEASE COMPLETELY!

The out gone Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), consecutive governments which bequeathed the illicit drain pipe, made no provisions for payment of subsidy in the 2015 Budget, though in the previous years of 2013 and 2014, paid a whooping sum of N 971.1 billion per annum, as fuel subsidy!

The current APC Government will pay N305 billion naira or more, according to the 2019 Budget Estimates, depending on the international price of crude oil, as subsidy to another round of FRAUD, but it is pertinent to tell President Muhammadu Buhari and his management team that as they assume, once again the mantle of leadership for the SECOND TERM in office, that the NIGERIAN MASSES, THE TALAKAWAS, WHO VOTED THEM TO POWER CANNOT AND WILL NOT PAY ANY PETROL PUMP PRICE BEYOND N145,00 (NAIRA), PER LITRE, NEVER AGAIN!
NIGERIAN TALAKAWAS have no business with foreign colonizers like the United Nations International Monetary Fund (IMF), and their ilk who want Subsidy to be totally removed NOW in order to completely wreck what is left of the nation's fragile democracy by destroying the nation's WORKFORCE and creating a new generation of poverty-stricken masses! That will never happen!

THE CHILDREN OF THE BUTCHER WOULD NEVER EAT BONES, NEITHER WOULD THE CHILDREN OF THE TEXTILE MERCHANT WEAR RAGS! "I have been young, and now 'am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his SEED begging for bread." (Psalm. 37:25).
