THE DOOM PROPHECY OF FRESH ECONOMIC RECESSION IN NIGERIA WILL NOT COME TRUE!

About twelve calendar months before Nigeria's 2019 General Elections, political pundits, prophets, eschatologists and soothsayers across the globe contested for spaces on the social, electronic and print media to predict for or against the success or failure of President Muhammadu Buhari at the polls which he had now convincingly and overwhelmingly won by the special grace of God, for him to continue in office for a second term from 29th May, 2019.
From Europe and United States were several predictions by private enterprises and government agencies, even by newspapers/magazines and financial institutions, just like in 2014/2015, of "sure predictions" which the forecasters claimed could never fail, but which eventually fell like pack of cards!
The most ridiculous of the prophesies was by a multinational banking and financial services company, HSBC which said that Buhari would lose but that per chance he won, Nigeria would immediately go into economic recession of great magnitude that would gravely stunt the economic development of the country!

ZAMFARA STATE Governor, Abdulaziz Yari must surely believe in the recession prediction to have re-echoed it on Monday, 29th April, 2019, when he addressed returning/newly-elected governors in Abuja, during a three-day retreat organised to sensitize them on the duties ahead. He was widely quoted as follows that:
There was possibility of another circle of recession by mid-2020.
Borrowing was not a reliable alternative to solving the country's economic problems.
They should be prepared to face challenges with good spirit of stewardship to contain the situation should there be one.
As members of the National Economic Council (NEC), they should work hand in hand to boost the economy in tandem with the global best practice.

Alhaji Abdulaziz, Chairman of the unconstitutional Nigerian Governor's Forum, (NGF), has been in the news for very negative reasons in the last Eight years of his tenure for non-performance, lack of integrity /probity, alleged corruption through mis-appropriation of State's funds, several allegations of financial impropriety by the Youths of Zamfara at various times, absenteeism during most of the incessant armed bandit attacks which had claimed lives of thousands of innocent citizens throughout  his two terms and most recently by Zamfara's prominent media personality, KADARIA AHMED, who organised an aggressive but well-conducted protest at the State House, Abuja against Abdulaziz, whom she described as "the worst governor in Nigeria"!

Zamfara in North West Nigeria with 4.1 million population, and practises the Sharia religious system, is one of the very poor States, low Internally Generated Revenues (IGR), poor health facilities/infrastructures; and health statistics of about 800,000 child/maternal annual mortality rate, and became very notorious during Yari's tenure for reckless loss of human lives through armed banditry, cattle rustling, thousands of death-related statistics through illegal mining of the state's solid mineral resources of Gold and Lead, which went on unabated  until the recent ban placed on all manner of mining, until absolute peace was restored to the very distraught State, which shares border with Niger Republic.

ABDULAZIZ YARI WAS OPPOSED TO THE N30, 000 NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE BILL!
Throughout the lifespan of the Tripartite Committee which negotiated and concluded the wages demand by organised labour unions, Gov. Yari, vehemently opposed the N30,000 figure by asserting that States would be handicapped to pay the new wage since the former package of N18,000, was still in contention in most States. But he failed to disclose what he did with the two Federal Bail-out tranches and the Paris Club Refund monies paid to him as the Chief Executive between 2015/2016!
He did not also disclose how much he had collected in Eight years as SECURITY VOTES, and how he had dispensed the huge amounts which were in billions! Can he explain his scale of preferences in respect of fiscal wastages/frivolities in his government?
How much did he invest on Education, Health, Housing etc. Why did the crime rate in Zamfara escalate throughout Yari's two term tenure?
This out-going governor who has, in spite of his lack-lustre performances smuggled himself into the SENATE has a lot of questions to answer and must not get away brazenly!
We are aware that he was quizzed in respect of money matters by the EFCC during his first tenure but could not be tried because of the immunity he enjoys - but that should terminate on 29th May 2019, for the security agency to dust up his files and demand for his account of stewardship!

NIGERIA'S ECONOMIC RECOVERY GROWTH PLAN (ERGP) IS ON TRACK!
CONTRARY to Abdulaziz DIVERSIONARY TACTICS of prediction of a fresh recession for which he proffered no parameters to back up, WE make bold to state that that Nigeria's economy is solidly on track and that the nation is poised to join the prestigious group of the 20 topmost economically-viable global economies by the year 2020!
Nigeria will not go into recession but progression next year because the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has established that recession could only occur in any economy, if there was negative real Gross Domestic Product (GDP), growth during two consecutive quarters due to reduced economic activity but there is no such scenario in the country.
All recession indicators which precipitated the 2015-2016, like Insecurity, dependence on the foreign exchange earner mono-product crude oil, (which crashed to below $30 USD dollars per barrel) then, lack of adequate basic infrastructures, motorable roads, portable water, medical facilities, electricity power, basic education, high unemployment/high inflation rates etc, are being vigorously tackled!

Commodity prices were stable in the markets even during the festivities of Christmas, New Year and the just concluded Easter celebrations. There were surpluses of goods and services and healthy competitions with various choices to make from vendors who cheerfully enticed buyers to their stalls.

THE TRUE ECONOMIC CHANGE MANTRA!
In pursuant of its economic blueprint from inception, the All Progressives Congress ruling government in the year 2016, proved to detractors that its management team was very efficient,  capable and diligent to pull out the nation from a self-inflicted economic recession precipitated through fiscal mismanagement, recklessness and institutional corruption of past administrations!
APC has fulfilled almost all of the promises of social contracts with the citizens with the limited fiscal resources at its disposal and Nigerians are better for it. In spite of the precarious security situation which seemed to defy all solutions, when it took over in May, 2015, there is now Federal presence in every State of the Federation: for instance road projects are still on-going in all states while 34 States are enjoying Housing projects; others have improved transportation through the rails while all major airports in the six geo-political zones are receiving face lifts commensurate with international standards. Inclusive are the building of more health facilities, from primary to tertiary across board while education also received its fair share of the dividends of democracy - ASUU/ASUP Strikes were successfully resolved through provision of funds to meet both infrastructural/staff needs and the Organized Labour Unions were not abandoned as the much-sought-after N30, 0000 Minimum Wage Bill was signed by PMB into law from 18th April, 2019; which was also the effective date! The diversification of the economy from the mono-crude oil foreign exchange earner product, has been largely successful and has tremendously improved the Federal Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), through aggressive Agricultural revolution and  all-round support for indigenous farmers, Solid Mineral resources exploration/exploitation, Industrial/ Manufacturing Resuscitation, Tourism, Theatre Arts, Film/Entertainment Industry (Nollywood), etc, etc.
AND the Federal Government has intensified greater efforts to defeat criminals and their master-minds/sponsors, through accurate intelligence gatherings, Community policing/Vigilante support groups, scientific deployment of drones with the combination of air bombardments, massive attacks by ground troops; not excluding successful operations by the Naval Forces against the sea marauders/oil bunkerers, who operate on the high seas with foreign collaborators to steal Nigeria's crude oil!

HOWEVER, THE HIT-AND-RUN TACTICS OF CRIMINALS IS RUBBISHING SECURITY SUCCESSES!
IT IS VERY PAINFUL AND REGRETABLE TO NOTE that all of these security measures through the combined efforts of the Armed Forces, Police, DSS, Civil Defence Security Corps, Vigilante groups, etc, were hardly noticed nor appreciated by the citizens because of the HIT-AND-RUN tactics of gunmen/bandits attacks on soft targets, killer herdsmen/farmers clashes, highway kidnappers, professional assassins/murderers and remnant members of the Boko Haram terrorists, who kept the nations societies in fear through their nefarious criminal/dastard activities of man's inhumanity against man, and were much more publicised because BAD NEWS TRAVEL FAR!
BUT THIS EVIL WILL PASS AWAY VERY SOON BECAUSE GOD HAS CONFUSED THE LANGUAGE OF THOSE CRIMINALS AND THEIR SPONSORS WHO WOULD DESTROY ONE ANOTHER, EAT THEIR OWN FLESH AND DRINK THEIR OWN BLOOD AS IF IT IS SWEET WINE! (Isaiah 49:26; compare 2 Chronicles. 20: 18-25).

We hereby encourage all Nigerians who love and fear the Almighty GOD, to continue in intercessory prayers and also dispatch relevant and authentic information on crimes and criminalities to the appropriate quarters in a concerted manner and collectively expose those evil enemies of the society for appropriate punishments through the long arm of the law. We also advocate that all law enforcement agencies and their agents would not compromise the national trust placed on them by carrying out thorough investigations and speedily bringing suspects to justice!

THE PEOPLE WILL REJOICE AS CRIME RATES REDUCE DRASTICALLY AND AN ENDURING PEACE IS RESTORED TO ALL THE 774 LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF THE NATION!
